The gym is in a really nice location and the facility itself is great. However, the music was cranked up to an annoying level that made it hard to focus. Since I was just traveling through for a visit, I didn't bother asking the front desk to turn it down, but just a heads up for management or anyone looking for a quieter workout.

Bruh the ONLY reason I lift weights here is because it's close by, the weights are either always unorganized or missing, they machines always be out of order, and the bathrooms are always filthy. I mean it's like some of these guys don't got no home training.

the only LA fitness ive been to that kettlebells are for “trainers only” with a negative trainer
checked around the main floor for any kettlebell to use and there was none. there were an entire rack of it in the personal training area so I approached these 2 trainers who were chatting in the bar and I politely said - excuse me, may I use one of the kettlebell because (was cut off by the trainer) and he directly refused and said “that is for the trainers use only” and that should stay there and went back to chatting with the other trainer. he could have had handle it nicely like not cutting me off and maybe say “our apologies but these kettlebells are for trainers only, let me help you find something that you might be able to use instead.”

Zero stars. Older Hispanic janitor has no regard for his or member safety. Janitor forces hia way into tight spots to attempt to clean by any means. Got dangerously close to multiple members including me while in the middle of a heavy dumbbell bench set. This is a constant occurrence. Never seen a janitor move so carelessly in years of visiting multiple gyms across Illinois.

Very bad experience to be honest they misled me to sign agreement they never show me on screen what I sign for I just use one session I did pay 756$ but I told 3 friends after me after I realise the scamm thank god in 3 days they cancel personal training

Absolutely horrible service. The lady at the front desk tried to ask for help from one of the sales rep and his answer was “I’m off the clock in 17 minutes”. She messaged/called another sales rep and we watched him ignore his phone whilst walking on the treadmill. The lady at the front desk was doing her best, so i respect her. She gets 5/5 for trying to help. But the whole establishment? Not a fan. Weights scattered everywhere, clutter, dirt. I’m not looking for a pristine gym, but for those of us who are paying all this money, we should have some type of quality. I’d rather be at planet fitness.

This gym has a lot of serious problems all the way around. Apparently, almost every person who trains there feels that they own the machines. No one allows others to work in, and I have even received physical threats to refrain from asking. I am not the only one. I No one should have to tolerate this type of nonsense, and then pay for it, and no one is required to make appointments to use equipment. The staff does nothing but sit ip front. And LA Fitness, being in the business of providing training locations, ought to know how to properly administer a gym, and on how to avoid being held responsible for an unsafe environment.

Don’t waste your time coming to this location especially if you’re a person of color. You’re not treated with an ounce of respect which is so crazy. We’re here to work out yet you’re treated like you’re a criminal. However as soon as a Hispanic person comes in it’s all sunshine and rays. Desk service was so rude. I invited a friend who was visiting from another country to join me, but the person at the front desk refused to let her in because she didn’t have her ID — even though I had followed his instructions and filled out the required form in the app, just as he told me. I’ve never had any issues with guests at other locations, and I’ve never been asked for anything extra since I pay for a subscription that includes guest access. I tried to explain that she had her passport at the hotel and asked if there was any other solution, but he wouldn’t even listen — he just kept repeating “no, no, no.” In the end, I had no choice but to leave, feeling incredibly embarrassed in front of my guest because of the awful treatment we received.

The "childcare" personnel doesn't care about children, in more than 3 times I had bad situations about it. My kid slipped and felt cutting his upper lips, the lady didn't do anything or call us, and the manager instead of giving me solutions about her personnel attitude just said that place is not for my kid letting me know that I should take him some other place, they put on your contract that the child care is a safe place but it's just a room to kids with no supervision

The staff is rude and they are always loud hanging around either by the desks or the training area. The machines do not work properly; it is dirty and hot in there. They have classes and trainers who lack experience in the subject matter. If you need something for a class, you are out of luck because items are broken, unavailable, or in short supply. Not worth the price.

Ever since the Oak Brook Location closed down I was forced to go here, it has been insufferable coming here no matter what time of the day. This is the only LA location that doesn't allow the customers to use any medicine balls or foam rollers and even locks up dumbbells. Regardless of what time I come there is at least 1 person waiting at every machine and is always a class going on in the dance room. To top it off while you're waiting for your machine the gym reeks of sweat in mildew and there is not a single outlet in sight to charge your devices if needed.

My club closed so I came here. The floor in the Locker room was dirty, carpets need a deep cleaning let alone vacuuming . The gym was so busy. Only 1 very slow guy cleaning. You need to do better! Hire the staff from Oakbrook to clean, they were fabulous. I will have to drive farther now to find a clean club.

I go to the gym on the regular basis with no issue today I felt singled out and not appreciated as a customer considering I pay every month I showed my identification proving that I was who I said I was and yet there still was a issue with me entering the gym the host I was dealing with was rude had a very smart mouth the manager I talked to was nice but the fact I was told he was siding with her knowing I’m a paying member and did nothing wrong and had showed all my identification was just weird then i was told just go to a different gym when I pay to go to any one that I want to in all honesty I feel I was profiled as an African American male when walking in the establishment the experience was a terrible one and embarrassing in front of my peers this behavior needs to be corrected or a different protocol needs to be inserted cause the fact that I pay every month and had such a issue when clearly its my account was ridiculous.

I’ve been coming here since 2017. I generally alternated between the broadview and oakbrook location. Back then broadview used to be in top top shape. Staff used to walk around reracking weights that guest couldn’t be bothered with doing themselves. And the cleaning crew would constantly do a sweep thru of any debris.
Unfortunately since Covid it seems the new staff here has absolutely no idea how to manage the upkeep of the place. Bathrooms seem to only be cleaned in the mornings. Dumbbells are rarely reracked and scattered thru out the gym. I’m
Assuming they got rid of paper towels as a punishment to the guest bc at one point it was completely scattered thru out the place. And we’re stuck with hand dryers that are mounted at a stupid place. Drying your hands almost at face level so it just splashes back at your face. Not to mention the amount of theft that continues to happen.
I would then, if time permits, commit to the oakbrook location. Staff sucks at both locations but at least oakbrook guest cares more about taking accountability for themselves at that location. Did not matter the time or day it was always clean. Sadly they closed which forced me back to the broadview location. Then to find out it’s even worse than ever before bc they bought out XSport. So not only do they have lazy staff and a dirty facility but now they’re understaffed and overcrowded.
It’s funny to see La Fitness will only reply with a comment to the rare and once in a while 5 star reviews they get, but refuse to acknowledge the repetitive 1-3 star reviews with the same common complaints. Do better. Or this location will soon be just as run down and beat up as the lyons x sport location.

I’ve been a member of LA Fitness for over 3 years, and while I generally like the facilities, I recently had a frustrating experience at this location. I arrived 45 minutes before closing, only to find the front door locked. I managed to get inside and asked the front desk worker if I was still allowed to use the gym. She confirmed that I was but mentioned they’re allowed to lock the doors up to 1 hour before closing.
This is something to be aware of if you’re planning to hit the gym late. Technically, you can still work out during posted hours, but you might have to wait for someone to exit and hold the door open to get in. It’s a weird policy for a gym that advertises specific hours, especially since members are paying for full access during those times.
To anyone trying to get their grind on before closing: be prepared for this and help out fellow members by letting them in if you see them stuck outside. Hopefully, LA Fitness can rethink this practice it’s inconvenient and feels unfair to members.

I have been a member with La fitness since this location opened. I then worked for the company from 2017-2019 as an assistant sales counselor at both oakbrook and broadview. I visited this location on 12/30/2024 because the oakbrook location officially closed today. I tried to get my work out inn at broadview and was denied access. I was racially profiled simply because I look Caucasian. Xavier the assistant sales counselor talked underneath his breath in Spanish saying racial slur’s thinking I could not understand him. Made me call the membership hotline, made me waste an hour on my time. Karol from the membership hotline then told me I was able to work out at the club and activate a VIP guest and Xavier again denied my privileges to activate a VIP pass. At the same time I was seeing people get let in without a membership, without going through the process of activating a pass no problem. Xavier should be fired. It’s honestly sad that I know more about the company policies than they do.

They allow people to SLAM weights to the ground over and over. This tuff man is deadlifting weights he clearly cannot handle. After he starts throwing his accessories back and forth. Then he raises the volume on his Bluetooth speaker for the rest of the gym to hear. Why the gym allows guest to bring speakers into the gym is beyond me.
STAFF……PLEASE STOP THESE PEOPLE FROM RUINING THE GYM FOR THE REST OF US!

I started coming out this way a couple years ago with my boyfriend and over the years have grown to love this gym and the community! The maintenance and cleaning is pretty good and the staff is very kind. On top of all that the FLEX BAR is the best! I wish every gym had one, it makes it easier and more accessible to get everything I need before/during/ or after my workout. Sam is a great guy and very knowledgeable, I enjoy my workouts here out in broadview for many reasons but the flex bar is definitely the best part -

Continued theft!
On Saturday, August 3rd, between the hours of 9:30 am to 10:30 am, someone stole my sons perception Versace eye glasses along with a gold ring inside eyeglass case from the men's restroom. The ring is not worth much but holds sentimental value to me because it belong to my other son .Hope almighty GOD lays his hand on you accordingly!

Today is 7/29/24 and it is 12:35 PM. This is my first time here on a VIP pass. Sat down with a gym advisor and go through the plan options and then he walked me around the gym including the pool, sauna, and Jacuzzi. I wanted the $399 plan and wanted to pay in full. However, I changed my mind after the walk with the advisor. The reason is my first impression of the Jacuzzi was that it is very dirty and unsanitary. There are a lot of white foaming and it have chunks of dirt floating around. I told the advisor that and no wonder no one are in it. Management need more attention into this. - Vy Nguyen

The Zumba instructors never show up; there is no notice or communication from the gym or instructor ( that they changed their mind and decided not to work that day) . I’ve reached out to management for them to at least notify us classes will be canceled. But, they could care less, they don’t hold their instructors accountable. They simply say they don’t have any control or responsibility to the classes they offer. If management has no control, who does? Is there a corporate team who will do something about this? Why advertise classes you obviously don’t provide?

I've been a member for over a year now, I had the app on my phone for the first 9 months to check in. I recently purchased a new phone and did not want the app on my phone, the app runs in the background the same way my mind races! My picture was taken during the first day I signed up, everytime you check in by phone number my picture pops up on the screen. Some members keep asking me, if I need help with installing the app on my phone, like I'm a 2 year old, the lack of understanding the employee has for the amount of disrespect that is! The reason for asking for my id, is only to make it a nuisance when checking in. Now I'm starting to wonder how much their app steals information from our phones?!?

I love this place. The staff is really friendly and it’s quite large as a gym with clean facilities and equipment. My only gripe is the dumbbells— usually in disarray and good luck finding the 20lb dumbbells! Otherwise, I love coming here even though it’s usually very busy.

Horrible manager! Very disappointing. I had forgot my gym bag in the gym. I called a day later, and one of receptionists told me they found the bag. She told me I can pick it up. I came 3 days later , and i spoke to the manager Jermaine. He told me that he seen it by the reception area. He went to look for it, and told me its not there anymore. He took my number, and told me he would check the cameras, and would get back to me. Unfortunately he never called back, and was hard to get in contact with him when I called the Broadview facility. Once I finally got a hold of him he told me he didn't remember telling me he seen my bag. He told me he could not help. I just feel he could have been more helpful as far as finding out who recovered my bag, where was it placed and actually check the cameras.

You can tell the management of this location isn’t very good by just walking in. Equipment is always broken, bathrooms are filthy with feces and blood in the same stall for 3 days. I didn’t think they would clean it up so I checked and I was correct. They are open until 11pm during the week but if you try get in after 10:15 they lock the front doors so you have to use the handle to open the only door that’s not locked. I didn’t know this so I walked away a few times last week because no one was at the counter and no one was leaving. Finally a few days ago another person was walking out and told me to use the handle, he said they’re always locking the door early.
If you arrive at 10:30 for a quick workout like I did today you’ll find the front doors completely locked. The female at the front desk was trying to wave me on like they are closed but the listed hours are 11pm so I waited for her to open the door.
Once she did I was told they’re closed but she let me in because she knows she isn’t supposed to lock the doors unless they are truly closed. I told her I don’t think it’s the policy of LA Fitness to lock doors early but she assured me it is. This is clearly a decision by low level employees making rules that the general manager doesn’t have the back bone to correct. I told her I would surely be out before 11, she mumbled something to me, probably calling me names and I went to work out.
I’ve been a member before this young lady was born, my entire family has a membership that I pay for. Corporate sets the hours not your night closer, I’ll be sure to call LA Fitness to have this corrected. I can understand employees don’t want to be at work long after closing but I’m not the problem. They should start with the 15 guys playing basketball that take 10 minutes to chase out of the court and another 10 to get out of the locker room. This location needs better management, employees don’t make the rules. Clean the place up and start with the bathrooms. Blood drops and feces is not acceptable and I’m sure some kind of health violation, fix machines and don’t lock your doors until the stated closing hours would be a good start.

This is by far the worst LA fitness I’ve ever visited. The dumbbells are scattered throughout the gym, or missing. The company doesn’t seem to care about reinvesting in the equipment because it’s all beat up.

This has been my regular location for a while because it's the most convenient. The cleanliness is lacking. I've been looking at the same broken pull-down rope on the floor for at least 2 weeks. It's crazy that Planet Fitness can keep their place clean, and they only charge $10 a month. Also, it's the norm to not rerack weights or wipe off equipment here. You'll get plenty of extra active points cleaning up an area so you can deadlift.

Clean, very nice customer service. All equipment is new and works well. You never smell that smelly gym smell here. The equipment is well maintained. Pool, basketball court, yoga, steam room, showers. Very clean.

Equipment it’s pretty old , always machines are broke or need maintenance, the gym need to be clean in general! staff it’s ok, people always inside the phones taking any spot for long time, especially the group of EDG - HERD ( Edgar’s) They need to stop using CROCS for working out !!!

EDIT: That one evening they had they in there that usually lifts DJ’ing was a horrible experience. Who wants to come to the gym with a mid DJ that can’t even mix songs (old school black songs at that) and is blaring music out of one speaker. Somebody tell bro to stick to lifting at 4pm with his ego or do that ish at home. Worst experience couldn’t hear thru my headphones. Also, they could invest in better wipes. The wipes are cheap and you struggle cleaning high contact touch areas. Tell the people stop blaring music from Bluetooth speakers.
EDIT: The GM Trent is fine tho.
It's a good gym – love the equipment, space, and appreciate the cleaning staff especially as they are picking up behind folks all day and replacing weights. Also love the front staff during the weekdays who are so nice to greet you and take your temperature.
I wish the General Manager or a rep from the desk would tell the older guys in the back to be respectful. They yell, curse, hog all of the equipment, blast music from bluetooth speakers and don't wear their face masks like they own the establishment. It's highly insensitive and unprofessional. Also wish people would re-rack their weights, not sit on machines on their phone, and bring attachments back like the t-bar. Please also provide more spray bottles, LA Fitness – it's hard to properly sanitize machines with lack of bottles.

I dont know whose idea to bring a dj with huge speakers and rap music, but this person should be fired. They actually brought the guy with huge speakers and turned music so loud that you can't hear your thoughts, headphones can't even help, and you can feel the bass with all your body. The facility has adequate equipment for both weight training and cardio. The treadmills and elliptical machines both could be upgraded though. Most times of day I am able to get done what I want without having to wait for others to finish their activities. The wallpaper looks like it's from the 1980s and isn't inspiring to look at. I know that's a small thing but it should be changed to bring new life into the gym. The bathrooms are very poorly maintained. Often there is no soap in multiple sinks and the garbage cans are overflowing. While there is a basketball court the floor is never cleared and the rims are wobbly. The people at the front desk are mildly friendly at best, a few of the staff look upset to see you come into the gym which is very off putting. A recent major issue is how slowly they are to repair vital machines, one being a leg press machine and the other a flat bench that is literally on the gym floor in pieces!

The layout of the gym is great. The assortment of weight machines, free weights and cardio machines is great. The staff and house keeping crew are attentive. I enjoy the friendliness of the early morning members. Everyone is welcome here. It is a family atmosphere.

My gosh. And here I thought food qualify was the only thing being affected by COVID. Let me tell you this used to be clean and chill atmosphere gym. Now it became a crowded dirty gym. Locker are always being broken into. Showers are disgusting and smelly. I had found poop on them gross 🤮. Overall a low quality gym now. Do not recommend and will be looking for better alternatives. As this became a $10 per month. Which lower it’s standards and quality

Had an unbelievable experience today at broadview square LA Fitness. Wanted a guest pass for my son so we can workout together. The mgr. Trent Carr not only would not give me a guest pass, he was rude and argumentative. he Indicated my account since 2014 didn’t allow for a guest pass. I stated as a long time customer that was all the more reason to accommodate me since I was a long time customer. He then stated there were customers that didn’t have the grandfathered account I had and whom paid far more than what I pay. I retorted “why are you speaking about what other members pay, I’m a member as well and long time paying member at that”. Second incident this so called mgr was rude and unprofessional. What he doesn’t know is my fiancé has had guest passes for her mother and friend consistently. He was willing to give the guest pass today if he could charge my card $20 for one day. My son and I LEFT, went to his gym membership at Planet fitness and there was absolutely no issues getting a guest pass. SMDH

I've been a loyal paying member af LA Fitness for 6 years now, without ever missing a payment, I went overseas for a few months and had my debit card hacked and had to cancel it. Obviously I wasn't making the payments to the gym. So
get back and explain the situation and apologize. I pay for the 3 months to get my membership back to even($100) Then I scan in my card and am told that 1 have to pay $60 more to get my membership back. I explain the situation to their finance dept and they say that they can't do anything. I have never missed a payment in 6 years and when I finally do they treat me like a crook and not only that but they also try to scam me. LA Fitness are scam artists, DO NOT GO THERE! They couldn't care less about their customers. They just want your money and don't care about anything else!

I signed up to try it but not my fit. I like a gym including ropes and other equipment not only machines and some free weights this particular gym is similar to planet fitness. I tried cancelling and two employees were bombarding me with ways to not cancel by giving alternatives which medically I couldn’t do and they would not listen. One guy was impersonating a physical therapist which is not his scope of practice to be treating clients or trying to diagnose what’s wrong to keep a client and work with them for that injury (I am a therapist myself and take this serious) he can be sued for that.
