Today, I went in to join Lafitness. The conversation started like this. Ive met my quota today can I put your information in tomorrow. Then he took a call with his girlfriend while asking me if I could put my membership in tomorrow. I should give him a tiny bit of credit... he asked me if it was okay. I am 100% nonconfrontational and I felt extremely awkard that he would even ask me if he could answer the phone. After 3 i love yous to his girlfriend. He asked what time he could call tomorrow to put my card through. I told him 5pm worked for me. He tried to convince me for earlier and I responded with Im not allowed to answer calls while I work. I honestly wont be answering his call tomorrow. After that performance If I do join la fitness it will not be at this location.

It use to be less crowded before LA bought out Xport locations. Soon after machines started to have repair signs that lasted for weeks. The change out of the paper towels in the locker room has been an inconvenience for us as guests. Management and the staff had ALWAYS been pleasant, friendly and good customer service and not to me to mention the cleaning lady, blonde hair. She’s always doing something and getting her job done. I’ve seen here move equipment in the activity room second floor to deep clean, mirrors and machines as well oh and th Mats behind the stairmaster. She’s a worker that should be recognized. However, waive seen new faces and not friendly. New young blonde girl at the front desk with glasses has been unpleasant. Never seen her smile or greet someone. I don’t know if she just straight business but doesn’t give the gym a good impression.

Overall, pleasant gym shower rods (rusty) might need a change and curtains.

The club has all of the basic equipment that you would expect from a gym. It always seems clean and not too crowded. However, it is so fricking HOT in the upstairs cardio area. It doesn’t matter what time of year, it’s hot. Way hotter than any other gym I go to. Bring a towel.

I just quit, still giving 5 stars. Only quitting cause a gym opened up 100 ft from my house but this was still a nice facility. The 5 star rating is because of how easy it was to end my membership here. Every gym i have ever been to has literally been a nightmare to leave. It took all of five seconds to end my membership here. If you're having anxiety about getting stuck in a membership you can never get out of... don't. You want a daily dose of right-wing news and religious stations while you do your cardio? You got it right here. No CNN, no MSNBC. You'd think they'd cater to everyone (other LAF clubs do). There are NO fans. You would think the upper level would have something considering all cardio machines are there. Just watched the staff "wash" the floor; did a large area without rinsing the mop once. The aerobic room was hot, smelled the floor was slippery with sweat and condensation. AC went on with 10 minutes left of yoga. Not coming back.

My biggest complaint about this location is that they take FOREVER to fix anything, if they do at all. The front door is currently missing a handle on one side, there's a sink in the women's bathroom that has been broken for months, the bicep curl machine has padding that is ripped up and uncomfortable, multiple machines say "scheduled for maintenance." I think it's a case of cheap and uncaring management.

This gym used to be great a few years ago, but it’s really gone downhill. No new machines, no upgrades—just the same old setup. On top of that, it’s frustrating when basic necessities like paper towels or sanitizing wipes are nowhere to be found. Step it up, LA Fitness

The ventilation in the hall is terrible. The air is stuffy and there’s clearly not enough oxygen. It feels suffocating, and I started feeling dizzy because of it. The gym is perfect for me. It is close to home, has long open hours, clean, and I can always use the machines that I want to. I recently signed up for a few personal training classes with Xavier and have enjoyed the experience tremendously. I do not have a background in working out or physical fitness outside of just sports in high school, and I really appreciate working with Xavier because he’s patient, knowledgeable and encouraging. I’m confident I will see noticeable gains working out with Xavier. Highly recommend!

Used to be a solid gym. Management and/or overall staff changed and it all went downhill. Basketball court has been closed for over a month for “repairs” and yet nobody is ever seen in there performing a single repair and no timeline on reopening court given. Machines are constantly broken and not being repaired. Mouse and rat traps everywhere. None of the sanitizer wipe stations EVER have the wipes or spray so just sweat is never wiped up by anyone. Completely overcrowded every single day at any hour. Men’s room has overflowing toilets and broken toilets. Again never repaired. Very rude unwelcoming staff. Very unhappy member at this time.

Update:
In 2025, this location becomes very busy , dirty and smells as well.
The waiting time is crazy to get an equipment or bench.
I think they are getting greedy by giving more subscriptions to ppl outside the area.

This is a great place to workout, it is very clean (except urinals but that is our fault as usuers) the cleaning crew is always proactive, equipment is well maintained. Most of the members are respectful and responsible to put the weights back on the rack. An area of improvement could be on the weekends, I feel like the people at the front desk are part timers for the weekend only, so when you walk in they don't even look at you or acknowledge you being there, they're just looking at their phone, but I am not taking out a star just because of those few people when the rest do an outstanding job!

My first experience here was today and it seems to be a lot better compared to my previous gym xsport. Weights are in their place and the gym is not too packed. This place has terrible management service. They do not communicate with each other. It’s been 3 months i have tried to explain multiple times that i never signed up for a yearly personal training. I joined only for 2 months to try but I have been charged for 5 months but i only attended 2 months of training. They are not refunding the extra charges. Manager is never available to discuss. It has its pros and cons. The swimming pool is very nice. Equipment is well maintained. The basketball court is excellent. However, salespeople are very pushy and the clientele act as if they are allergic to wiping down equipment (even at the tail end of a pandemic) and have no issues hogging equipment for a half hour or more.
Not that it matters since the gym does not provide disinfectant anymore. Personally, access to a pool at a great price keeps me here. If a pool or price aren't factors, you could do better.

This is one of the better health clubs (LA fitnesses) that I frequent. Now it's generally a clean place, however due to the caliber and ethnic groups of people that are going there now, it's getting a little too dirty. Marques sales ethics and lack of integrity reflects poorly on LA fitness. When I met with him to sign up I expressed my concerns and interests, he assured me that they would be met if I signed up with him. His first lie was that this facility was going to be receiving a sauna in April. After further continuing my workouts I started to ask around to the other associates and finally came across a front desk manager. She informed me that she handles all maintenance and upkeep that what he told me was not in fact true. His second lie was after I shared with him I am a local last responder he was going to discount my monthly bill. None of my billing statements up to date reflect any discount. This young degenerate named Marqes should take a course on ethics since he clearly lacks common sense to be transparent sales representative when conducting himself professionally.

When I schedule a tour, it means not I just want to get to know the club, but also the people and how they greet and respectful they are. Horrible customer service, I have been trying to cancel an account for a month, they always tell me only the manager is able to do it and the manager is never at the gym!!! yesterday I went to ask for the manager and one of the workers pretended to be the manager and “supposedly” he canceled my account, today I saw a bank deduction and told them the ‘manager’ canceled the account. This location doesn't believe in clean. I dropped my membership b/c the Women's Locker room never smells clean and the same gum wrapper sat on the Locker Rm floor for days. Though the same cleaning lady pushes around a cart including a bucket and mop-I've never seen her use it. I have only seen her lower all the Bicycle seats to the same level and dry mop. (I'm back only b/c it's free thru my employer). Recently, when the black matts were too filthy to use-I pointed it out to one of the guys who said he have the cleaning person take care of it. That never happened. The cardio machines have never been cleaned either. You can the same dried sweat, dust and dirt that's been on there since they opened. I'm only there b/c it's free to me.

This location is filthy and the front desk staff is very unprofessional. The patrons there do not wipe down the machines once their done using them and the gym itself is disgusting. There's always trash on the machines, around the weight equipment and on the floor itself. The mens restroom is always out of soap and the garbage overflowing with trash. Only reason I come to this location is because I work in elmhurst and come here on my lunch hour. Not anymore. I'll continue going to my home location in Crestwood where the gym is actually kept clean, have PROFESSIONAL STAFF, a squash court and a sauna. Things a real LA Fitness have.

The gym itself was very clean and open. Employees were super friendly and helpful with explaining everything. The only problem we had was the hours available for daycare and the lack of things for our older children to do while we were at the gym. The "playroom was described as fun for all kids". Really, there wasn't anything for out 7 and 8 year old to do. Definitely geared towards two-five ish kids.

I've been a member since October and have been very pleased, until I checked my bank account this month and found that they overcharged me by $260 for an additional month of personal training for my wife that we did not want. My wife told the guy at the front desk a few weeks ago that she had every intention of discontinuing the training at the end of the 6 months that we signed up for, but they have no record of him having reported that conversation so they continue to charge us. She was told she would not have to do anything else, that the charges would stop after 6 months... Wrong. And they will not refund the $260. We have no choice but to use up the remainder of our personal training sessions and then cancel the membership. It really makes no sense from a business point of view because if they would refund us the $260, they would continue to make $750 a year from our regular membership dues, for many years to come... we might even use the personal trainer for future sessions, from which they would make much more money! But no, they'll lose all that over $260 and we'll simply go over to FFC. Steer clear my friends, the company is a joke. No clue about customer service.

Locker rooms are not very clean and cancelling is harder than trying to buy a black market kidney. During covid you can find equipment with minimal wait, but in normal times, you won’t find open equipment. Not worth the money.

I called to check on the status of the gyms court that has been under construction over a month and a person on the phone wouldn’t give me their name and continuously handled himself unprofessionally over the phone. I called back to speak to a manager name Matthew and he tried his best to fix the situation. He told me the associates name is Earnie.

I had a horrible experience there with one of the workers. He was rude and condescending when I was trying to bring in a guest to try out the gym and possibly join. Will never return and cancel my membership.

Before my workouts I have to shoot some hoops or it just doesn’t feel right. L.A fitness use to be the ideal spot for that. However, one of the backboards broke and there doesn’t seem like they are gonna fix it any time soon. Good place to lift not a good place to hoop. Update: A few months have gone by not only was nothing done to fix the basketball court they have also removed all basketballs off the court like they don’t even want people to play anymore! There is volleyball every Wednesday 4-6 which I a completely ok with, but they leave the net up the entire week which really effects potential basketball games. I’ve asked about this multiple times and have never received a clear answer by any staff member. I feel disrespected and overall not appreciated. I highly don’t recommend this facility. Off to the Oakbrook location I go

I use to love this place but a lot of things changed since first opening. I have a sneaky suspicion that they don’t want people to play basketball no more. When I first came it use to be really nice basketballs upstairs now they literally have one ball that’s literally torn up. They literally never sweep the floor it’s dust flying everywhere to the point I swept it so no one will get hurt. On top of that they close it 30 mins before the rest of the club closes. Must be new management. Really disappointed with the changes made around this place

The only things this place has going for it is price and quantity of equipment. However, the staff is only concerned about selling personal training and making sure you are masked up walking in the door. Fine. But understand, they can't be bothered to enforce gym etiquette. While there are a few decent folks who use this facility, the majority are bums that leave trash laying around, don't wipe down the equipment, and don't rerack their weights. Also, there is a weird smell emanating from the dumbbell rack that persisted for the two years I was a member (I canceled recently). Ironic that one of the pictures associated with this gym on Google is a dude wiping down the dumbbell rack.
