I’ve been going to XSport on and off for over ten years since high school. Overall a great a gym.
Lately they’ve been lacking cleaning , especially in the locker room.
The steam rooms need to be cleaned more often ,the floor drains in the showers are full of sludge.
The lockers have not been wiped down in probably multiple years.
The benches in the locker room have not been moved to be mopped or cleaned under in ages.
Locker room often floods by the swimsuit dryer due to lack of drainage in front of the sauna and dryer.
Hopefully XSport will start taking pride in the Libertyville location and have there staff clean the locker rooms more thoroughly.

Very disappointing this past few weeks. Upgraded membership just to be unable to use all the perks of a “premium membership”. The hot tub has been broken for almost 2 months now. Every time when asking when it will be fixed, the response is “next week”. It’s going on 7-8 weeks now, and best believe they’re still collecting “premium membership” fees.

Great gym, great people. It would be nice to have some deadlift platforms & plates by the squat racks to deadlift, power clean and bent over rows. I know they have them at other locations I’ve been too while traveling. just not our location

Not sure what the purpose of a guest pass is if the employees are going to make excuses not to let guests in. Denied a friend visiting from out of town access for not having an Illinois license for verification. Sounds like a bogus rule. Then requested a one time payment of $20 for entrance. Not sure how that is justifiable when the monthly fee is around $30. Clearly they don’t value their prospective members. And I can tell they don’t respect their current members either looking at all the reviews and pictures posted from the gym. Don’t waste your time. Better off just paying a little more for lifetime fitness where members are actually respected. Trash gym.

This is place is lucky I am giving it a 1 star rating. I am visiting from out-of-state & signed up for a 7 day guest pass, which they did not honor, since I am visiting from out-of-state.
What if I was visiting from out of the country & was on a work visa or was a visiting student in college here?
The guy in the blue shirt seemed to discriminate against me due to the color of my skin & seemed to be in the interest of himself over the interest of his visiting customer.
I am disappointed in this business as a whole.

Place is visibly dirty from
Top to bottom. From the mirrors to the buttons on the machine. Guest have no sense of gym etiquette. Why no one puts weights back or why all machines aren’t cleaned is a mystery. Staff is nowhere to be found. Locker room covered in hair and floors nasty. Smells like hot dog piss and poop that’s been sitting in the sun. Figured a nice suburban gym would be in better shape than a Chicago one. Not even close. I asked the staff if they had towels and he straight up laughed in my face and said we stopped that in 2020 and continued to look at me like I was the crazy one for asking if a gym carried towels. Disappointed is an understatement!! . But for $20 a month. It is what is it. Can’t expect much from it. These guys are doing their best 💪
But wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

Definitely crowded. Never have genuine sales people when I talk to them. They like to make up prices and shrink them as you say no. Also no guests after 9pm! Beware of that before you make a long drive with a friend.

I walked in today for my first experience at the libertyville location. I walked in thinking I was going to be treated with kindness but instead all I was welcomed with was dishonesty and bad service. I have been to the location in downers grove with another friend and I was allowed to workout with his guest membership. I was still able to qualify for my own free 7-day trial to workout on my own. When I walked in one of the Salesman, Alex (tall, glasses, and had a little accent), greeted me and had me sign a liability form which I have never had to do at any other gym I have ever been to in my life. He then proceeded to say that I had to buy my own membership in order to workout, simply just thinking of the people that walk into this location as a $ sign.

Alex is a terrible salesman! (Tall and Skinny dude with glasses) He told someone i brought in for the first time to buy a membership although he’s never been at this location. My friend qualified for a 7 day free pass but ALEX said he can’t use it because he was at the Lombard location and got brought in with his friends premium pass. ONE DAY! to my knowledge, if your qualified to get a 7 day free pass, your able to use it. but he wants to say the only way you can workout is if you buy a pass. then proceeds to say his go to phrase “Today is the last to for $0 enrollment” CAPPP. very dishonest and terrible, i feel bad because all he cares about is a sale. it’s his heart that is blind, not his eyes. Definitely not staying here any longer!

I don’t normally write negative reviews but I’m writing this to hopefully turn things around at this location. I enjoy large wood floor workout room, the large turf strip where you can push and pull the weight sled they have, the versa climber, fan bike, rowing machine, and the weight racks that allow you to do Olympic lifts. The value for all of those things is pretty great relative to other gyms in the area.
I am routinely frustrated however by the cold pool not being cold even though the showers have ice cold water (which I make due as a replacement), the two-level hot tubs not being hot, the constant smell of sewage in the showers, broken shower heads, and lastly and most importantly for my personal recovery routine, the steam room in the men’s bathroom that is constantly broken. I know older members that come to this XSport solely for the steam room, they report it every time and are frustrated by the seemingly indifferent front desk staff and the lack of results.
I love this location, please don’t close, but please fix the steam and water woes in the men’s locker room.

Had a really bad experience today I wanted to add my son to my membership and the guy wanted to open a New one. Instead of just adding my son to mine. Then he said that he couldn’t take off the child play off. That he needed a manager to do that he keep asking questions like what was the name of the person who open my membership? When was the last time I use the child play? At the end I had it I just cancelled my membership. All I wanted it was to add my son. How come to cancel my membership he didn’t need a manager but to add my son it was impossible.

This was a nice place a long time ago, prices went up just like everything else, but the problem is not that. Everything is old and needs attention, the club locker area is dirty, showers are dirty, possible mold on walls and soap dispensers, and rust everywhere in the pool area. The list can go on and on... why did you guys throw a towel at this location??

Been here for a year, won't be coming back.
Bad attitude customer service staff along with unprofessional, aggressive and dishonest sales people. Here you will be hounded to spend money by the staff that will follow you around the gym and blow up your phones. They lie about costs and features and sign you up for things without your consent.
Both my wife and my credit cards were put onto other people's 'accounts' or more likely fake accounts to meet quotas. The people at the gym say they can't do anything, and this is the response no matter what the problem is. They always tell you to call the number on the back of the card which no one ever answers. Having to file fraud charges now.
The gym reeks and equipment is mostly in poor repair with enough of it broken that the place feels crowded even with only a few people there. The only thing loosing weight here will be your wallet.

Had a membership for over a year, had training lessons with one of the personal trainers. Everything went well, untill life took a turn and I have to move out of state. Canceled my membership, and had still trainings left with my personal trainer, one of the managers that are left there told me to call “corporate” the number on the back of my membership card, when trying to reach them it’s impossible, they dont even let you try to call them, either they are on “lunch” break or its the New York office. Ridiculous, trying to get some money back.

I want to tell you my experience, the service in this club suffers noticeably. I purchased the most expensive subscription to this club so that I could visit the sauna. There are always advertising SMS from the club, but they don’t say anything about changes in the club’s work, and something is always not working. The jacuzzi was not working for two weeks, now the sauna will not be working for two weeks. Yesterday I just wasted my time. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this club.

3 account managers said they would call the police on me for trying to steal my money from me they charged me 6 months of gym membership after a worker said they canceled my gym membership. These managers are suppose to work with the customer and be friendly and helpful. They were all the opposite of this and rude, disrespectful, and unkind. I would not recommend these 3 managers at all. They would not refund me my money even though it was their fault for charging me after they said they would cancel. Over $300 of charges. The one manager acted as if he were going to attack me and the other lady manager was completely rude talking over me.

There’s a 7 day Free trial that’s offered online. I haven’t been to Xsport in months and so I signed up for the trial. I got a code and everything. When I got there, the lady said she could not give me the pass because I had to wait 2 years before I could get the next one. Then why is it offered online? My email should’ve been recognized and the system should not have given me the code. Very inconvenient.

Amenities are okay. On busy days and times it can be hard to use the machine you would like to use. The vents attached to the ceiling are absolutely disgusting. The dust is caked on to the vent. I noticed because while I was running on the treadmill dust particles were literally falling down on me. Staff is generally friendly and helpful.

Terrible basketball experience, unlike any XSport I have been to (I travel all around the state).
Guests cannot play, court closes at 11pm (24/7 facility?!), and management tends to not care for this demographic at all.
I would suggest taking a 20 minute drive down to the XSport in Arlington Heights- way more clean as well!

I love this facility so much! I switched to XSport from LA Fitness. My experience with LA Fitness is that the staff is rude and do not care about their members. Tina, the operations manager, at the Libertyville XSport location, is very welcoming and nice, along with the rest of the staff. I am so happy that I switched to XSport. I definitely made the right decision.

Please really walk through it with a fine tooth comb, try some equipment, find your favorites and try them FIRST. KNOW the gym you will be going to before you join. I would NOT do it again, EVEN IF IT WERE FREE. Just get on a random treadmill, go look in the spa rooms, try a bicep curl. Use the bathroom, wash your hands, visit the dry sauna in there. See if you feel supported, good and energized by the atmosphere, will you enjoy it? Get a good work out? Then consider it. This craphole was not for me.

I’ve been a member of LA for many years and decided to try a new club. I choose this one mainly because of the classes . I like their diversity , all instructors are good. Self-spa is also a big attraction. Nevertheless, the management looks like cares only about selling memberships and individual trainings. The steamer room in women section has never worked since I’m a member . Other members say it didn’t work last year neither . Everyone’s complaints are just ignored . I came up couple of time to Ryan , the GM about this too. No change since. The pool and especially a hot tub don’t look clean . I used the hot tub two times and both times toilet paper and something nasty were floating . It feels like an enormous amount of chlorine is used also . Please fix the steamer room and update the disinfection system in pool area .

Very rude came in to become a member. I was told to have a seat and someone would be with me. I sat for 20 minutes and no one came to speak with me. People just kept walking past me as if I wasn’t there. So I got up to walk back to the lady that told me to take a seat and she looked me and turned away as if she didn’t want to talk to me. So I just left guess they don’t want me money.

Our family LOVES this gym. We go everyday and have the childcare pass which we also LOVE. What makes this gym so great is seriously Emily. Every time you come into the gym she makes sure to greet you and has AMAZING customer service. You bring an issue to her attention and she fixes it asap. She is seriously always making herself busy and never is standing still. She does everything even if they are short on staff she doesn’t let that affect her mood. Seriously just the best!

Went in to do the 7-Day dollar trial. But ended up taking premier. Because if you like to tan, swim, and use all the goodies you have to get the premiere but it's a good deal overall. Reason being is they cut the cost of amenities. In other words you have to bring your own towel your own shampoo Etc but overall it's clean staff is friendly and it's a No-Frills Club. Which does have going for it it has a little bit of everything and what it does have it works. Best it's 24 hours and it's close. If you don't want a fancy Club and you just want to use facilities this is the club to go to

Customer Service:
I called xSport fitness on 02/14/23 @ 11:30 AM and spoke with Sandy. I spoke to her and stated I tried the gym, and I was not happy with the gym and CLEARLY stated gym equipment was extremely old and broken. Also the gym pool was dirty, to which she walked me thru how to cancel the service and to get a refund. She also stated I will get an email when it is cancelled since her back hand team handles it and she cant cancel my membership. About a month I noticed a charge on my credit card of $5.00 for service fee and $40 for cancellation. But when I asked her will I get a Full refund she said YES and she never mentioned the any cancellation charges to me. So, I was LIED to about cancellation policy and fees. I was told by the rep that all the money will be refunded and I won’t be charged for it. What xSport did is DEFAMATION and I should not be charged for their mistake of not training the rep on their policy. Already contacted my Credit Card company but they denied my claim and didn’t provide a reason but; why would some pay for DEFAMATION for xSport Rep screw up. I cancelled within 24 - 48 HRS.
Any they are still charging my Credit Card and wont stop but I dont have access to online system to cancel my membership.
If there was a -10 stars I would leave it for xSport.
P.S: So I filed a BBB complaint instead of calling Garbage customer service.

Most of that staff here are cordial. There is one female who wears box braids and has an attitude problem. I am regular at this gym and most of the staff know me. This employee blatantly lied to me, saying that I had to wear a wristband in order to play on the basketball courts. On the courts, there is a net covering the rafters that hasn't been cleaned since I have been going here. It is filled with large chunks of dust that occasionally fall on to the court when a shot hit it. No one seems to care about it here...

Up until now, I thought Xsport was a solid gym and they still are, but closing the basketball court between 11pm to 5am is definitely not cool. I told them several times I didn’t want personal training they told me my card would be on file just to re new and make purchases come to find out I’m getting charged for personal training and tried to resolve it through the gym and corporate and I can’t get my money back even though I have not used not one personal training session so I would advise be careful when signing up I paid a high price only to come back another day and their practically giving away memberships not a bad gym but the people that work there don’t care at what cost they sell you a membership to lie and steal from people

Finally thought i found a nice gym but this one scams you like most others. I would leave negative stars if I could.
We paid for buy a year get a year free membership outright. A sleezy guy with a man bun also sold us on personal training in monthly payments. We expressed concerns about the monthly payments as they were expensive and he assured us we can cancel anytime.
My gf is recovering from cancer and became too sick to go to the gym and also had to quit her manual labor job. She had made several monthly payments for training sessions she never used.
We asked them to cancel the remaining payments but they said man-bun was lying, we can only defer payments to a later date not cancel outright. And in the meantime she is barred from visiting gym or using training sessions she already paid for.
She got a doctor's note asking to exempt her from the remaining monthly payments and we have spent 4 months trying to get them to accept it (meeting with people in person, hour long phone calls on hold, mailing things only to be told it never arrived or should be mailed somewhere else).
Finally seemed to be resolved but then they terminated her 2 year membership with 0 communication to us. We tried going to the gym and she wasn't allowed in. They are refunding her membership (prorated) but not the training sessions she paid for and never used.
Not to mention that on numerous occasions I showed up to training sessions and my trainer did not, only to learn my trainer no longer worked there. Again 0 communication. When I expressed frustration about this they offered to sell me more sessions. Yeah right.
Save your money and do some push-ups at home or something.

Ever since coming to Xsport only last year, I had nothing but very helpful trainers (I recommend Dallas and Matt) that pushed me to my limit and lost 20 pounds and even made some lifestyle changes with their guidance. Every staff member there were super kind to me and were more than happy to assist me in what I needed. You will get results in this gym if you stick with the program your trainer gives you. I was tricked into signing a contract to pay a $10 cancellation fee when I was only told that I was signing my signature to cancel my membership. The gym wreaks of sweat. Equipment is not cleaned regularly. The pool also has debris falling from the ceiling.

Will scam you they charged me 360$ for a gym I went to once and I called and canceled and thought it was solved until I see this charge months later. Then I call my bank they can’t dispute it because supposedly you can only cancel with a written agreement mailed in to xsport. Definitely be on the lookout for that

They claimed I signed up for messages when I lived in another state over 6 hours away. They refuse to stop messaging me after multiple phone calls and texts. Professionalism is terrible. I’ve never heard a single good thing.

Decided to give this gym another chance. Nothing Has changed. Reps still harass your guest into becoming members. I still have to bring a gym bag to avoid leaving anything in the filthy locker-rooms. Gyms too crowded with high schoolers walking around like bullies lol. Furthermore, I guess they have a new 10 dollar cancelation fee which the manager used as a way to deter me from canceling. I couldn't give him the 10 dollars any faster.

I'm so disappointed that I have to give this fitness center 1 star. I work in the area and I had the option of going to lifetime fitness or choosing Xsport Fitness, well let me tell you, the customer service is extremely rude . I'm not sure if I was ignored because they believe I did not fit the image for this gym , not saying what I really want to say because I don't want to believe that this day In age racism is still going on. I had 3 staff members walk by me continuously not acknowledging me, I understand I did not have an appointment , but that still is not an excuse. This makes me wonder how Management is training these people! This is terrible to be treated like this and embarrassing. I just said hell with it and left , my money is green and can be spent where I'm treated equally and fairly. I wonder how many others have been treated like this . Maybe this shouldn't be ignored , maybe it should start a conversation with upper management.

Complete dump. Bathrooms are nasty. No toilet paper or paper towels. Lockers have to be 50 years old. Half the equipment is broken.

This is my first review that I have ever written in my life and that should tell you something about this place. First of all, if you want to be scammed, come here. I have never signed up for a gym membership, so Xsport became my first gym. I told the person who was signing me up that it was my first time, and I guess that was an easy way for them to take advantage of me. First, they told me I should sign up for the more expensive membership for the first month to avoid all of the starting fees if I chose the cheapest one. I thought it was a really smart idea, considering that the starting fees were up to $70!! So I got the $39 membership for the first month with no starting fees. I thought it was weird that I gave them my debit card and that was that. I didn’t have to sign anything, which was the first red flag for me, but it was my first gym sign up so I didn’t know much. It was about 2 weeks into my membership and I was suddenly charged $49!! I was confused and very upset so I called. When I called and told them, they said that it was the annual maintenance fee. Upon signing up, I was NEVER told about ANY fees. While on the phone, I also asked about switching my membership. The guy on the phone specifically told me that if I switch my membership to the $9 one before my billing date (which was in 2 weeks) that I wouldn’t be charged $39, so I switched it. 2 weeks later on my billing date, I was charged $39!!!! Beyond furious, I went in and asked for a manager. The manager was not helpful at all and could not help me. He told me to just call corporate, so i did. I called corporate twice, was on hold both times for 20 min, and was hung up on twice!! I didn’t not speak to ANYONE. This has been a long and painful process and I am tired of it. I may be an 18 year old girl, but I refuse to let this place take advantage of me. I am continuing to fight for my money back.

Probably 75% of the treadmills are broken with something wrong with them. Front desk says it’s slow because they have their maintenance working multiple locations. It’s been like this for probably the whole year. Good luck finding a working tv and treadmill combo.

This gym is always really clean, staff is friendly and the members are helpful. The locker room is very big and also always clean.There is even plenty of parking in a well lit parking lot, but beware of Libertyville Police, they are out there waiting to catch someone speeding!

I signed up for the 60 days challenge on July 26, 2021. Al took pictures of me on the 26 and sold me supplements on the 26 then told me the challenge was supposed to end on September 26. When I sign up I was initially charged twice for 16 sessions instead of 8 sessions. I had to call cooperation to resolve this issue because they (Libertyville location) were not willing to resolve it. They keep making empty promises until I had to decide to call myself and told them if we can not resolve this let's just cancel it. Canceling was a decision I should have stuck with because the headaches that came after were not worthy. I spoke to Al, Bryant and they never returned theirs calls when they promised to call back. To get a hold of them you have to go there in person. Instead of fixing the issue they will just avoid you and hope you get tired and give up. The whole program looks like a scam to me. They were quick to take my money but never serve the service they were selling or have promised. The training part was horrible with Sam because he was not punctual. I demanded another trainer and that process of getting a new trainer was horrible too. They finally assign Jake to me and we had good communication plus he showed up to what we agreed on and we were able to complete a lot of work out (all 8 sessions). Jake pushed me and challenged me. We made a lot of progress and I lost 25 pounds in 2 months. I was looking forward to uploading my after pictures but I could not because the challenge was complete in the system. I was trying to upload it on the 25 of September and Bryant told me to wait until the 26 (”the 26 will be exactly 60 days”) not knowing 60 days were already passed. I came on the 26 and that was still a problem to upload the after pictures. Another employee finally caught the problem. He told me that the challenge was supposed to end on the 24 because July and August had 31 days which make senses. All this could have been avoided if I was given the correct information or if my trainer had the correct information too. Their leadership at that location is very rude by not returning calls after they promised to call back. The little information I got was through my trainer. Their communication skills and accountability sucks. I was looking forward to fully participate in the challenge.
In conclusion, you are better off accessing just the gym and work out than to buy their services. I will say 90 percent of their personnel are lazy starting from their leadership. You want to get things resolved, go in person not on the phone they will ignore you and not return your call.

My account was frozen for months and finally I had to chance to drive 2,5 hours to cancel my membership because I moved. The problem is that no one can give me correct answers as to how to cancel. They somehow charged me $21 for no reason!!! My account was frozen!!! And I came personally in and cancel my membership!!!! Are you guys trying to take last chance to steal my money?
