I want to share my thoughts about the gym hours. It would be awesome if they stayed open until at least midnight. I understand budget concerns, but the current hours are tricky for me since I can only go in the evenings. I'm sure other members share the same thoughts. I like this location as it's close to home and I hope they consider adjusting the hours. I've been a member for years, and I hope my feedback is heard and doesn't fall into def ears.

Also, it would be great if the staff could ease on the rush at 10:30. While I understand they want to head home, and some members take their sweet time to exit out, having the last 30 min. to work out without feeling pressured and having a little more leeway means alot for some of us. The gym is a great escape for many of us, allowing to unwind the stress from our daily routines without feeling pushed out can make a huge difference. Thanks for considering!

This gym will take you money and run,I had bought training session by gabriel was never told they expire.i had a back injury wasn't able to used them for some time mind you I has called a wanna be corporate or idk costumer service with gaspi he was like you should be able to used or extend I was ok .. the when july come around was able to use traning session they were like they expired no worries we might be able ro extend let me call district mananager let me tell you the district manager Ron Moore that all he care about your money 💰🤑 he was like no you can't extend didnt ask just want money..mind it was 35 training classes paid in full totaling more then a grand.. also the people who said I can extend like the( training manager will)at time wasn't very helpful called district manager ron moore is horroble..gaspi from corporate tried to extend basically they give to the run around will run with you 💰 won't help you at all they gym always dirty machine are broken better of going to blink even other gyms are way better the employees are so dishonest.. they will also make fun of you like you just another paycheck to them ....

Ever since LA Fitness took over Xsport, management assure me that no changes would happen and it was just a name change. That was a huge lie!! They change the hours to from 24hrs. Ex members are not allowed use a "Visitor Pass" to check out the new changes without signing up for higher membership prices. And now they are going to cancel signature classes like "X-fight. The high-intensity workout class is the element that makes this gym different. Tetzins 1 hour X-fight class is the most satisfying 700 calories you will burn. Take X-fight away and I'll head to over planet fitness or the YMCA for a cookie cutter basic gym experience.

Literally tried to call and this place was very unprofessional, I went to cancel my LA fitness membership at my home gym lyons, il when I was getting ready to move to Miami and I was getting my card charged still for six months, after they told me it was cancelled when I went into lyons, il to cancel in person before I left the state. I tried to call this location again today to see why they were still trying to charge my card if I came in to cancel. And the employees tried to make it like they couldn’t hear me on the phone and then gave me a corporate number. This location was super unprofessional and not to mention when I did work out there. Most of the machines for cardio were broken and the location seem dirty and unclean anyway. Would never go back, the corporate guy did cancel for me with ease but the women and guy that answered at the lyons, il location were super unprofessional.

The only good thing about this gym used to be that it was open 24/7 — which was super convenient for people with busy schedules. Now, even that is gone. I don’t understand why a gym would close at 7 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. Those are the days most people finally have time to work out. It feels like they’re moving backwards instead of improving. Overall it’s a pretty good gym. The really only thing that takes off most of the stars is the cleanliness of the gym. I swear, the locker room was the only area clean. The workout machines are old. I have been going to this location even before it was LA Fitness. Today, while working out on the stairs, two gentlemen were working on the machines. I was mid workout when they unplugged the machine, and they didn't bother to let me know ahead of time. My knee was hurting because, as I stated, I was mid-workout. I started the machine back up because not once they made me aware they would need to unplug the machine again. Turned the machine back on and started my workout again, and again, they unplugged the machine. Since the first time they unplugged the machine, it caused my knee to hurt, I didn't want to take the risk and just headed to the treadmill. I don't recommend this location at all...

When it was Xsport it was a reliable 24/7 spot.

LA fitness bought them out and it is mostly a downgrade, the hours are worse to work with.

Used to be the spot for chicago suburbs. Now it's just a "almost 24/7 gym."

Edit: It is now even worse, and I did not get any email or anything regarding the change. I feel that it is a huge downgrade from what it used to be. Xsport was independent and ran 24/7 except for holidays, but even then, they were at least open every day of the year.

I’ve been to most of the LA Fitness locations in the area at this point and this is one of the poorer ones. Lots of equipment breaks and takes forever or just doesn’t get fixed. At least a third of the treadmills are broken. Place is also dirty. There’s rarely paper towels in the bathroom or stuff to sanitize the equipment. Now that this location was bought, it’s no longer 24 hours, which was one of its only redeeming qualities. La Fitness has made absolutely no improvements to any of the locations it has bought.

They removed the massive wall filled with a bunch of tvs (10) they didn’t know what to do with streaming the same channel. Wall still looks empty and ugly. They added 2 new machines and the old ones are a little loose, had to move out of a treadmill cuz it started jittering after 6.0 speed. And the men’s bathroom was absolutely horrible, it was moist and smelled horrible always having a urinal covered in a trash bag and had no dry towels to dry your hands. Had one soap dispenser and 1 out of the 3 faucets had a missing key to open the water. As for the workout experience, It’s kept at the bare minimum at least.

I really love the fitness manager, Will. He introduced me to a fitness trainer, Lawrence, based on my needs and wants in health and fitness. He seamlessly matched me with the best trainer for me after a one- time encounter. Without Will, I would not be seeing such an immense progress in my fitness journey. Thank you so much Will! This gym used to be okay when it was open 24/7. Along with how close it is, that was the main reason I joined. But now they’ve cut the hours so much that no days are 24 hours anymore, making it incredibly inconvenient. They cut their hours more than once, but not the fees. On top of that, the equipment is constantly broken or out of order, and no one seems in a rush to fix it. The place is usually a mess, and it’s always overcrowded. It feels like the gym has just stopped caring about its members. Honestly, I’d rather pay three times as much and drive farther just to avoid this chaos. I’m canceling my membership and moving on to a gym that actually values its customers. Not worth it anymore.

Went to this location on 4-29-2025 and was in total shock this location is a complete dump. The padding on some of the equipment is being held together by duct tape that has been on the equipment so long the duct tape is also worn down to the bare metal. I signed up at this gym in 2003 and they still have some in the same equipment they had back then and some of that equipment was broken but still there for members to use at their own risk. The people that go there are not there to work out they are there to talk loud and treat it like a social gathering and look at me stupid cuz I'm not talking to anyone but actually there to workout.

El gimnasio estaba bien. Últimamente muchas caminadoras no funcionan. Al igual que unos aparatos. En el estudio donde dan las clases en grupo el equipo de sonido ya va a tener o tiene 1 año descompuesto y no se ve para cuando lo vayan a arreglar, usan una bocina. No funciona la calefacción y esta bien frio. En tiempo de calor no tiene aire acondicionado así que esta muy caliente. La cancha de basquetball ahorita en invierno esta bien fría. Lo único que han echo es pintar el Gymnacio. No han renovado nada. Espero que pronto arreglen el sonido del estudio. Que tomen en cuanta las inquietudes de los clientes. Yo ya cancele mi suscripción por que subió mucho el precio de la membresia desde que se convirtió de Xsport Fitness a LA Fitness. Y como dije no han arreglado nada pero si subió de precio.

I've been in this gym for almost a year. and I already had to do this review because it is incredible that we are still in the same condition. They have incredible instructors who do a beautiful job and motivate us to go to the gym, but physically the gym is getting worse and worse and we are not paying a low fee to not have basic services. Since I have been there, the classroom does not have A/C. How is it possible that in classes we only have one fan and some on the ceiling when sometimes there are more than 30 people trying to take the classes. It is not possible that apart from that we have been without sound for 3 months, the sound broke down and they have not fixed it. You work with a speaker that is not the same, no matter how incredible the instructors are and they do their best work. but the gym does not give him good conditions. Now this week a day without water refill as it is possible that there is not or that they have an alternative. In short, not only are they broken machines but they do not provide a suitable space to be comfortable in the gym. More than one person prefers to go to another gym, those of us who stay and continue going there only because they have very good instructors but they and we deserve to have a healthy and healthy space.

Started going here after the Moraine Valley FitRec. This place almost has everything a person needs to get a good workout and steam room recovery, but is dirty. Very filthy.
The worst thing about finishing a workout and wanting to relax in the steam/sauna is when the locker room is dirty and smells. Most of the time there will be paper towels and soap all over the floor in the shower area. What's even worse is finding out that the steam/sauna is "out of order" again for the 5th time in a month.
There are 7 shower stalls in total, but only 4 are usable since one completely doesn't have a faucet (broken off of wall). The others have broken doors which do not close all the way or open after closing.
Recently I've noticed a lack in gym equipment (missing barbell clips, small weights 10lbs and less, and pulley attachments). I'm not sure if these pieces are simply not being returned to their correct spots, or just being stolen from the gym. Either way it would be nice for the management to replace missing equipment.

All in all, this place is alright for a workout, but makes you feel like you're overpaying when nothing works/is dirty and missing equipment. M

Nice place with folks who will let you keep to yourself if you want. People here are friendly, floor is swept regularly, 95% of machines aren’t being worked on at any given time, and it’s pretty cheap. This place gets packed easily so finding parking is a bit tricky. It would be much better if there were disinfectant wipes for the equipment and not paper towels + disinfectant spray.

I just rejoined this gym and went this morning and I am so disappointed. I was a member originally at Piper's Alley and then changed to the one in Logan Square and was happy there. I moved to Berwyn and joined the gym in Lyons and what a dump. It is so run down. The women locker room has no attendant. There was a sign to text if the locker room wasn't clean. I texted and no one came. I went to the front desk and asked if there was anyone cleaning the locker room and he looked at a guy stocking the cooler and said yeah he'll go check it out. So this is what I saw:

1. The bathroom stalls had paper thrown on the floor overflowing garbage.

2. Shower area poor lighting and the shower stalls have mildew

3. No more towel service or blow dryers available.

I didn't take pictures only because you aren't supposed to take pictures in the locker room. No one ever came in to clean while I was there. I will go back tomorrow, hopefully it will be cleaner.

The machines at this xSport location are in shambles. I’ve been coming here for 2 years and the equipment just keeps deteriorating. Seats and weight racks are snapped in half, most of the weight labels are gone, i can always get a full workout in, and the employees are friendly, but i Always have to adjust my plan a little due to equipment issues. I’m gonna switch to the xSport in Melrose.

Next thing you know we are getting charged for the last 2 months and they even had the nerve to charge an additional $54 for maintenance fee. This is possibly the worst gym I have ever been too. It smells moldy and old. Lots of garbage everywhere. The water foutain doesn't work half the time. Then to top it all off most of the staff doesn't take their job seriously . They slack off and don't provide great customer service. Vaping in front of customers and working out at the front desk and even the late night workers for the most part leave the gym and don't come back for hours later. Reported it all to management and instead of finding a solution they would rather kick me out for trying to better the gym. Run far away . They also don't mention the fact there's a cancellation fee. They recently increased the price from 10 to 15 and now it's at $20 . It's not worth it at all. I recommend finding somewhere else that actually respects you as a human being. Nate especially has an attitude and was being threatening towards me. Devante slacks off and he knows it.

Xsport Lyons has good equipment, has the space, and more than 95% is in working condition. The 1 star is due to the staff's action. This would go from the general manager down to the receptionist not being a brand ambassador. They are not the example, when they work out, they leave bars full of weights, don't wipe down equipment, and don't put stuff back. Bad example that most customers follow. They allow large groups to be trained, taking up mass amounts of equipment and bringing in speakers that blare the music that is difficult to draw out at times. Unfortunately, it's the closest gym to me with equipment for my type of lifting style. The district manager should be more present to review this location and make it better.

I don't get why people hate on this gym so damn much. It's a much cleaner gym than people say, has a friendly community and staff, and has good gym equipment with good facilities. I think people just mad they can't get the tiktok steroid abuser physique only working out once a week.

Yikes dirty, little ghetto right behind there never was a good area been bad the last 23 years but now it's getting worse garbage over flowing , showers broke , urinals broken , smells, ac is broken , and covid cases rising from this facility not keeping up with cleanliness and hygeine ,underwear , panties because people go in the pool in their underwear beware please everyone including workers get tested

Very dirty gym. Bathrooms are in terrible condition, my music never plays and they don’t give their guests the WiFi. I took my boyfriend with me and after we left within an hour his eye was itchy and he had PINK EYE for 6 days. Staff at the front desk are rude and I never see anyone cleaning especially now with the virus situation going around. Paper towel dispensers are almost always empty

Corporate does not answer calls nor reply to emails. The gym is hot and crowded and there is never enough paper towels, sanitation spray or hand sanitizer. The only thing good I can say is the workers are all friendly and try to be accommodating.

This place is disgusting. Paper towels everywhere, shower heads are broken off, fecal matter on the shower floor, the floors in the tanning bed area are black because no one mops them, the basketball courts nets are broken which are 4 dollars a piece to fix! The court itself is busted and never cleaned. Good luck finding matching free weights. People throw them everywhere. While staff sits in front and doesn’t do anything. The pool is loaded with chlorine and will burn your skin and eyes. The water is incredibly cloudy. Poor management. Worst gym I’ve ever been to. Most of the people that belong to this gym are scum bags.

I went there with my older brother to workout, the lockers are a bit..eh like high-school not enough space an needed cleaning, but other than that the atmosphere is great the people are respectful as well as the employees I had no issues working out, there is even instructions on how to use some of the equipment, the area is also comfortable and safer than others, there is even a steam room, will go again with family or friends,

(Word of advice: Get a lock 🔐 to lock up your locker, and have a secure bookbag that zips, not the string ones. So nothing goes inside, an no matter where you go, be respectful and use common sense.

If your looking for a good old fashion clang and bang workout, no baby bs, this is a good place to go. Good amount of equipment, I’d say a few levels up from Planet fitness (I still go to mine)
If you want a clean, downtown, expensive gym… then go downtown, this gym is def for gym rats!

Do you like Halloween? If you do, everyday is Halloween at XSport”fitness” in Lyons. It is a true haunted house of horrors complete with: green algae around the pool. Ghoulish locks of hair, used bandaids and razor’s floating in ALL the men’s showers backed up drains. Did I mention 2 out of 6 showers are always out of service? Access denied! Demon leaks and drippings flowing through the ceiling tiles 24/7. Do you want a large locker? Sorry! Those are all locked up for other members who pay the same as you. Management doesn’t cut locks off any more. Do you like being possessed by sickness? After 8 years of not being sick I contracted Covid 2X and MRSA once since becoming a member all in less than 5 months. The dark lord will visit you as soon as you sign your contract. Welcome to HELL!

This Gym gives XSport the reason why not to join their membership. Equipment is Prehistoric, 6 threadMill out of service, men’s Sauna a must throw water into the heater in order to heat the right heat. I say that if Sport is not going to invest in new equipment, at least give the members a clean facility., bathrooms are 🤮, cans are flood with paper towels and so on. I was totally disappointed.

Great experience!!! Feel comfortable with my trainer Lucinda.
She gradually goes through the workouts with me. Progress in every session to do better and better which is what I love. I previously had trainers that I honestly didn’t feel great with. Lucinda is the one to go to!

I’ve had training sessions with her and she has made me feel comfortable the whole time, has made training so much more interesting and has been helping me a with my form. Wish there was a hot tub. The staff is friendly, not too pushy. The basketball court has hollow dead spots and is rather slippery. There is a great selection of machines and even though it gets pretty busy I've had no problems getting on the ones I want to use.

My 5 star review is not because of the facility (I would give that 2 stars ) but, instead for trainer Luci. I had a free session with her last month and she made me feel comfortable the whole time and helped me a lot with my form. She was patient and helpful throughout as well as motivating while not overdoing it. Give her a raise 🥳🥳

One major thing for me is there is no service because it's so close to the forest preserve and they offer no wifi....today when I asked one of the employees if they had wifi he laughed in my face. The stair machines are always broken...the bathrooms are dirty ..not a good experience for joining my first gym.

Its a total waste of service
I have been to them to freeze my account for some months
One of the front desk guy over there said he can freeze it for 3 months and so he did. The very next month they have charged me for a whole month, when i went to the guy to complain about it
The same guy who freeze my account said that the deducted amount will be reroute to the following month when i unfreeze the account again,
Yet they kept deducting my amount for 3 months continuously
Today i made an attempt to visit their place i was told by the lady over there who is an accounts manager says my account was not even freezed and when i tried to explain her about the front desk agent she just replied i am not responsible for it!!!
That was very surprising how come they can hire someone who doesn't know about the stuff and who can just misinterpret a customer so easily for 3 continues months!??? and just be regardless of the situation!
And she just denied to refund my money back as she can see no proof in the system regarding the freeze!
Then what about the service which was given by your front desk agent?
You guys just took my money for no good reason. This is so unfair!
