Ive been to a lot of LA fitnesses over the country and this is the worst conditioned La Fitness ive been to. And of course the sauna is broken. Mens locker room is cramped, lockers are old and dirty. Trim coming off the wall. Needs a vaccum for sure. Looks like the bathroom area in the mens locker room got an upgrade. Front desk girl smiled and said hello. Now i'll go workout.
Leg extention machine broken but not out of service.
Has a walking track upstairs
No free wifi for guests. Thats the 1st time ive encountered no free wifi. Is that a chicago thing?

Its a cute little gym outside of the locker room. Still getting 2 stars bc the sauna is a huge reason I have a membership at La Fitness.

I no longer live in Illinois. But when I was back in town. I figured I would give this place another chance. My friend told me LA fitness took over. Still the same. Dirty/broke down equipment/everything all over place/poor customer service. I went to Planet fitness in Matteson.
New equipment/clean/great customer service. Now Vasa Fitness will B opening soon. I belong to 1 in Oklahoma city. They have a movie room . Where U can watch movies while u work out. Up to date equipment. Clean. Big. Great customer service. Both places. Planet fitness and Vasa fitness is in an open area. Less chance. Your car will B broken into or stolen. When I lived here. My car was broken into twice at Xsport. IMO. LA fitness is taking customer's money and given nothing in return. Vasa fitness is almost finished. In same lot Pete's Market is in . Matteson ill. Granted. U will B paying more. But U R getting your money's worth. To employees of LA fitness. Fill out application before Vasa Fitness opens. LA fitness. Please close. U R giving customer's NOTHING!

This place is definitely not 24 hours. I confirmed they're their automated phone message when you call that it is 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday through thursday, 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday and 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

It was actually really good. I forgot how much I enjoyed going there. They have a few more choices that planet fitness and thats nothing against them but its also a price thing for me with LA Fitness or else I would have stayed with them years ago. We renewed our membership in the beginning of June. At the Matteson location. At that time a lot of the machines with TVs attached to them worked but the TVs did not. So that was the first disappointment as well as the location not being kept up. There are wipes all around A lot of the machines don't have options, Like to PAUSE your workout. The only option you have is to stop the workout and start over and this disrupts my routine. Also when I worked out on 7/6 one of the treadmill machines abruptly stopped my workout to the point where I lost my balance. I did report it. This location is such an eyesore, The AC at this LA Fitness broke. They only did a partial fix, so now there's a big piece of plywood with ventilation sticking out of the front entrance. This location was closed for over 2 weeks and the machines weren't upgraded or anything there's also other construction equipment in the gym that makes it another huge eye sore. So now i only attend the Matteson location if i don't have TIME to go to Tinley Park location. The customer service in Matteson is mid.

Today is September 26th and @8am an employee and a member were in a HEATED argument that started out as conversation and escalated by getting Louder to the point of DISRUPTING MY WORKS OUT. I already HATE THIS LOCATION however needed to fo here because Tinley is too far today.

Did LA Fitness acquire the Xsport franchise to allow the buildings to fall into disrepair?

Here are a few things that need to be done to improve the club.
1. Re- pave the parking lot
2. Trim hedges
3. Remove plywood from the door
4. Greet members as they enter
5. When weights are reported missing, do not send members to look for them
6. Have more than two staff members available (not on their phones for long stretches of time).

I paid for a single club membership plus childcare with the contract to prove it.(see photo) They double charged me for childcare a week into my membership. I called to resolve the issue but was met with generic responses and no one truly looking into the matter. The young guy answering the phone had zero customer service skills and argued with me and CONSTANTLY told me “I’m new, I don’t know what to tell you.” After speaking with the manager, Danny, in person (who also refused to speak to me on the phone) he was dismissive and told me it was me that needed to calm down and not be rude (after several attempts to resolve the matter calmly where dismissed) I asked for a refund and cancelled my membership. I’m not paying to be talked down to and brushed off when issues with my charges arise. Not to mention that the bathrooms here are disgusting, staff is always on their phones and just simply not helpful.

Came here as a guest to see if I wanted to try xsport. I accidentally walked into a room downstairs that I guess is only for personal trainers and clients and the employee was so rude to me that he shouldn’t have a job there. I even asked a few more questions giving him a chance to not be extremely rude, and he got worse. The gym was over crowded you could barely walk through there, there was limited access to equipment and weights, and an employee was ignorant and rude within the first 5 minutes of me stepping in the door. It’s a no for me. There is never a situation to be as rude as the guy was to me ever.

I have been going to this club since 2017. Pre-pandemic both cleanliness and machine maintenance were well maintained.
Now, only 2 of 5 stationary bikes works. Fully 1/3 of the treadmills don't work. The ankle extension machine has been broken for 8 weeks now. As a previous reviewer has noted the mens locker room is in poor shape. Lockers don't function correctly, not nearly enough places to sit down to change other than the floor. The mildew smell in the locker room is pervasive.

I do enjoy the community of fellow positive souls that work out there on a regular basis. The people around me inspire me to do a few more reps, another machine or work a little harder.

Hopefully Upper Management can find the funds to repair/clean our club.

I started going to XSport about 6 weeks ago and I love it! I have been working with a personal trainer and she is great. Very flexible with my busy schedule. Everyone is so friendly and willing to help you achieve your fitness goals. In just a short time I’ve noticed a difference. I’d recommend XSport fitness.

Customer service is pretty terrible and the gym is too overcrowded for the lack of equipment they have at the facility. I came in to cancel my membership 2 weeks ago. After I stated the various reasons for wanting to cancel, the fitness manager tried to argue with me about cancelling and telling me I’d be back. I mean, if that’s how you think you’re gonna get people to stay, then by all means, continue to do so 😂. But I definitely wasn’t going to continue giving my money to them in the midst of being disrespected. Highly unprofessional for him as a representation of the establishment. Will not be back! Also, they still charged my card the day after I cancelled the membership, so watch out for that.

Me and my sister started going to this gym & I was approached by coach dj, me and my sister both trained with him for a few days. At first we weren’t going to train with him because of the price he was asking but he insisted & lowered the price so we gave him a chance. ONE day I didn’t go to the gym with my sister and coach dj tried to come onto her making her very uncomfortable. He showed off his car, Instagram and money to her trying to get her to go out with him. The next day I went up to the gym and reported it to the manager and the manager said that this was not the first time coach dj tried this with a trainee and that he was tired of him. A few weeks later my sisters card was charged for about $200, when she called up there they put coach dj on the phone & it made her uncomfortable and she hung up. Mots don’t go to the gym the men who work there will try to hit on you and will receive no consequences.

One star because there is no zero option.

The "lack of cleanliness" at the Matteson gym I have seen in my short time as a member is HORRIBLE! Dirty lockers and bathrooms, a constantly leaking ceiling near the gym equipment, and members being allowed to hang their coats and bags all over the gym floor and equipment, creating a safety risk for everyone. DO BETTER!!!

Additionally, I think it is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous to require certified mail-in cancellation request in this day and age where almost everything is electronic. It's just a ploy to keep getting money from members by creating an unnecessary obstacle in the hopes that people will get frustrated and not bother to cancel. WRONG!!!! I will absolutely be canceling.

I wish I can give them zero stars. I signed up for a trainer package twice a week. Only for day one my trainer left right before I came. And second day 1 hour before my session another trainer asked to reschedule. I then asked to cancel my membership at least 5 times in person. I was told to wait and they will cancel after a group class I was having and then was told they couldn’t cancel it for some reason to try again. I then get charged for training that I never even got. I disputed charge and the sent copy of my agreement but not one time mention all the times insane in person and asked to cancel. Never again. I feel like I got robbed. I’m sure cameras shows me at front desk for at least 29 minutes each time requesting to cancel.

My trainer is no longer at this gym so I opted to cancel my training sessions as that is the only trainer I felt comfortable with. They would not allow me to cancel stating they could find me another trainer. I picked my trainer and signed up with the expectation of working with that person. I should not be forced to work with someone I am uncomfortable with. I’m very disappointed with the service I’ve received at this gym.

I have had the pleasure of visiting multiple locations of XSport Fitness over the last 10 years. Usually, I go to the full locations and not the express. Well this was the second visit and I was more upset about the cleanliness of the location than anything.

The men's locker room smelled of strong urine and the doors were left wide open. The lockers' interior on many if not more than 70% of them have rust all inside. Some lockers had the device for the locker to stay close clipped, as maybe someone needed the lock cut but they should have been replaced by now.

The 2 garbage cans inside the men's restroom as soon as you entered and before you approached the stalls were overflowing which tells me that no one had done a routine cleaning of the restroom.

The carpet had that mildew smell throughout the building whether or not I was upstairs walking the path or downstairs trying to operate the equipment.

Now, I cannot tell you how to operate your business, but I can choose not to patronize you. Who would want to return to a nasty/smelly place to work out????

Good luck cancelling your membership if you move out of state.

They want you to send a letter, yes in 2023 they want you to send a letter, to cancel your membership.

Then the number they do give you to call tells you to "select from the following options" and instantly hangs up

I kept my membership throughout COVID even though I barely went and now that I had to move it is impossible to cancel my membership in any modern fashion.

Nor will anybody send me my contract where it stipulated I had to send a letter to cancel my contract in the first place

It's all so they can make it hard and hope you don't cancel or so they can squeeze some extra months out of you jumping through their hoops to cancel.

Dirty, Dirty, decent amount of equipment that hasn't been serviced in a while. Not to many people re- rack their weights. Training staff spends most of their time sitting and on their phones during sessions. Front desk staff is good. Today, 06/19/23, I wasn't able to finish my workout at the gym because your women's restroom had NO TOILET PAPER-- not even in the handicap stall. Additionally, it was obvious that the stalls had NOT been cleaned in at least a day because there was both excrement and/or flying insects in the toilets. I had to go home to use the bathroom. I really enjoy the place, it's just dirty... people don't clean up behind themselves, the trash cans be overflowing often, the rest room is trashy and the members do not put their weights back.... instead they leave 400 pounds for another person to move. Now, you have the guys that constantly drop the weights loudly when doing deadlifts..deadlines... just terrible people in general...

When I joined 6-8 months ago it was a special that was going to end the end of the week (according to the staff member) welp, same special - liar.

No photos, because signs are posted no photos next to the please do not drop the weights signage. Some of the paper towel holders and spray bottles are not working and a few machine stay broken. But the staff is nice, lots of options. Not overly crowded in the crowded days... a nice amount of classes and other options like, beverages, protein shake...

The staff are nice. They have everything you will need. The cleanliness of the equipment and lockerroom needs to improve. The benches were dirty. You could see the dried sweat and dirt that hasn't been wiped in days on the metal part of the equipment. It made me notice the machines are not wiped down thoroughly as I go from one machine to the next.

Nice clean gym. Been there twice, both times around 3am with hardly anyone in there so I can't speak on the type of clientele that workout there however, so far so good. The only thing I will say is that the locker room is probably the tightest I've ever been in. It's like, if you're speaking with someone standing by your locker and there's someone that needs to get by they're going to have to squeeze between you and the person you're talking because the walking spaces so small.

Do not sign up for this gym! I came as a guest and They steal in the women’s locker room and don’t provide a safe space for women to workout! I watched a grown man in his late 40s early 50 harass/embarrass a young girl and nothing was done! After she left the group of people that he was with said they witness the young girl being the aggressor when in fact it was him.
If you are a single woman looking to get a workout done in peace this is not the gym for you. Truly sad thing to witness glad i am not a member.

Not too long ago, I was in search a safe, clean facility to increase my mobility, flexibility and strength. My search ended at XSport Fitness in Matteson, Illinois. The space is well designed and the staff has created a community of instructors and members that fosters enthusiasm and inspires members to reach their goals, and more importantly, to continue moving forward. John and Alexi are competent and engaging and always available for questions and positive reinforcement. They are motivating and compassionate human beings. There are many other members of the staff who are also more than willing to give help when needed. Given a trainer upon joining, I learned so much from Brian, who gave me tips on how to maximize my workout that have proven to be so beneficial to my wellbeing. As I walk the unique overhead track, I am witnessing amazing strength of the human spirit, which motivates me to continue on my journey. I can’t thank XSport Fitness enough.

I'm appalled that three lights in the parking lot are still off as of this writing. I as well as others complained about this to a previous GM over three year ago. He promised to put a work order in. When I recently renewed my membership August 2022, I assumed the lights were fixed but unfortunately not. It may be that bulbs need to be replaced. When I spoke to Brian today he said wasn't the GM but a manager. He stated the president of Matteson is responsible for the parking lot lights. It would have been nice if he said he would follow up but instead he asked if I swiped my entry card. When I told him I would contact the President, he said ok and seemed as if he didn't care.
A well lit area could deter customers from car jacking, robberies, or possible abductions. I will contact corporate and Matteson Village Hall.

I bought a 2 year membership and I dread going to this dirty place. Most of the time the tanning bed they give me is dirty. Working out here is a truly unique experience. It starts when you enter the parking lot. See if you can spot the big garbage bag full of trash, it must be really special because it's been out there for several months. Then navigate the potholes and terrible parking jobs that the patrons do because the lines haven't been painted in years. Once you make it in the building, the true experience begins. If you're lucky you might get to watch the staff record themselves beating away the geese that hang out on front of the building during the spring. You can at least count on being ignored and not being greeted at all since the staff are sitting in the lounge chairs on their phones, phew, would totally hate that. Now, if you enjoy guessing which machines are working or which TVs function, you will love the cardio space. There are weight machines and free weights. Listen for the dudes who drop them to locate this area. Sometimes there's no hot water and the sauna isn't working but at least they put signs up to let you know. The cleaning staff is top notch and they are the nicest people who work here. That is the only good thing about this gym.

Get a new manager asap fire the little short bald guy that works in the morning i think his name bryant with all the bad comments i see im guessing thats him.this place is not worth going to for a good experience or to enjoy a nice workout the manager is extremely ignorant unprofessional and very rude to customers. He harassed & threaten to kick people out for no reason. no music is playing at anytime & none of the water fountains work. They insist you buy water and buy a mask if u don't have one also mask mandate needs to relax because its not a big of a deal. Customers shouldn't be forced to wear mask or leave. I didnt know xsports has professional doctors working to determine who is sick or not. safety isnt the problem if customers feel unsafe because of covid stay home that simple. What if i have cant breath through the mask because of my medical condition are you gonna ask me to leave what about if my religious beliefs are against that are you gonna deny for that aswell what if i dont test positive for covid and ive been healthy are you gonna deny me a workout that i pay 49.99 a month for like seriously get real!? People save yourself the time dont bother coming here. Ive been to neighboring xsports that are very very exceptional and very professional no mask mandate no harassment clean and working water fountains like in crestwood (small gym) or in chicgao ridge (huge gym & basketball court) those places are amazing with customer service. customers should feel welcomed and enjoy the workout and the experience not unwelcome or unwanted unsatisfied because someone dosent have the ability to effectively interact with guest.

Awesome and a variety of different equipment. Alot of space to keep to yourself and get your workout in. One of the more unique gyms around cause it has that old school feel to it as well.... Been coming here for a long time and people are cool that you meet here because of the common goal to work out

This location is amazing and the customer service is excellent. The facility is very clean and all of the employees are very helpful and friendly. I had the pleasure of training with Sean and the experience was amazing. I highly recommend this location to anyone looking to seriously workout!!!

Love love love this gym ever since their new manager Bryant started working here a lot of things have improved.Staff apply more effort to daily tasks such as sanitizing the machines, and all questions I’ve had in the past that no one has been able to give answers to before,have been answered by the new staff and manager.

this place is a scam, they have a $49.00 maintenance fee on top of the $78.00 start up fee that they fail to tell their customers about. They charge you that fee a month after your membership start date so you can’t cancel the membership and get your money back. Then to cancel is another $10.00 .Do not waste your money here, the entire staff is extremely rude and disrespectful and are insensitive and do not care about the fact that they steal from their customers.

Had a membership at this place. Pre Covid19! First off my work schedule wouldn't allow me to workout here plus they times that I did have available they were extremely crowded. Mind you still paying monthly for membership in hopes to start working out. Ended up contracting a bad case of covid-19. Now a couple of years has passed never attended gym. So I decided to cancel membership and had to pay to cancel! So I asked the male receptionist there when he told me about the fee. So you're saying after paying monthly membership for years and not attending you have to pay to cancel? He tells me that you have to pay to cancel your cell phone service don't you? I said no. Then he stated well we can cancel the membership cancelation. No customer service skills.

Bryant the current manager is very unprofessional and extremely rude. He lacks basic personable qualities and I would NOT recommend anyone to work out at this location. Every time I expressed my concerns with the gym, it fell on deaf ears. This place is also VERY unsanitary so I was forced to switch to a gym that is further from my home. A complete inconvenience! As long as Bryant is the manger here, this place will continue to be SUBSTANDARD, UNPLEASANT, AND EXTREMELY UNWELCOMING.

I love how they are strict with the covid protocol. They have a crew constantly cleaning equipment and I appreciate that. I feel comfortable and my mind is more at ease while I'm working out.

This places lacks professionalism and common sense. And their computer system was compromised. Do not give them your information. They mixed up a membership, had it flagged as delinquent but it was actually charging another account. Poor service. The manager was rude and was very knowledgeable about what was going on. He couldn’t produce the original paper work. Poor and unacceptable. Do not use this gym

Tanning beds don't work half the time I paid for Tanning and can't use it . The parking lot is loaded with trash used masks and garbage all over please get your act together XSport
