The people that work here are always friendly and helpful if you need them for something. They do a great job of managing the gym. I’ve seen the main guy up front cleaning up and putting back weights. You can tell he really cares.

The manager here is the worst. He is too racist. He literally treated us like some kind of criminals because we look different than them. And when he saw that some of my friends couldn’t talk that good he started treating us differently. Demanding us to do this and that, bring this and that document. And talking about regulations, our visas. Asking for more money when we had membership he let us waste almost an hour that we don’t have. How that kind of egoistic, racist person work his way to the manager? To manage what? Immigration? Does he think he is better than us because he is white?? And some of the people there lives on some of the machines. Not taking turns just resting there like 20 30 minutes scrolling with their phones. Don’t people understand that all gym equipments are for the public?

As a traveler without a permanent gym at the moment, I decided to give LA Fitness a try with their three-day pass. From the moment I walked in, I was super impressed by the top-notch equipment, the professionalism of the staff, and the overall welcoming atmosphere. As a first-timer, I had a fantastic experience, and I’m definitely planning on getting a membership and coming back regularly. Highly recommended!

Overall, nice gym — clean, well-equipped, and staff at the front desk were welcoming.
However, we were filming our workout with a tripod (nothing big or disruptive), and someone complained. Management came over and told us we couldn’t record. We respected it and stopped immediately, but it kinda killed the vibe.
Totally understand if there’s a policy against filming, but it wasn’t communicated clearly anywhere. For people who document their progress or create fitness content, it might not be the most welcoming environment.

Hopeton Daubon clearly let his power trip get in the way of professionalism. As a "sales manager", his job should be to retain clients and not drive them away. He assumed I did something without any proof and didn’t care to ask or check. I didn’t even have anything on me, yet he still chose to terminate my membership.
And it’s not the first time... he’s known for terminating memberships over petty, non-serious reasons. It’s a full on power trip that has nothing to do with protecting the business and everything to do with ego. That kind of attitude reflects poor judgment and results in lost revenue and trust from loyal members.

5 stars for cleanliness and Staff!!
But .. the temperature inside the workout area is appropriate only for sitting and watching tiktok videos😉. Any serious workout is all but impossible Great gym with not so great air conditioning and air circulation. Apparently there is temperature limit set by the management which results in less then satisfactory air temperature and humidity conditions.
Please allow for lower temperature to be set in your thermostats because these conditions adversely affect members productivity during workout.

I just took Carol’s Zumba class at the LA Fitness Glenview location—and she was absolutely amazing! You’d never guess it was her first time teaching here. Her energy was so positive and motivating, the music selection was fun, and her choreography was both easy to follow and a great workout. The entire class was smiling and moving the whole time. Can’t wait for her next class!

This place has gone down hill over the years and very mismanaged. The place is filthy, half the machines don’t work and the workers sitting by the front desk are either in their phones or eating and not acknowledging the people who are walking in and out. The floor in the women’s sauna has been broken for over a year and it’s not being fixed. They got rid of paper towels for hand driers and now there’s no way to wipe down the counter areas which are always wet and dirty.

I go to this place to swim. But the swimming pool is very dirty. The water is very dirty when swimming. There is a lot of hair in the pool and the water looks dirty. I accidentally forgot my personal belongings 2.3 times and when I came back to get them, they were gone. So it is also a place where thefts happen. The staff and the manager need to attention to cleaning and hygiene.

Everything this cloud location offers is great. For example, the layout of the gym equipment and machines, the exercise room, and the cycle room. The group classes and instructors I've enjoyed thus far are Cycle with Mary. For Body Works Plus, Margie is amazing. There are other classes I need to check out, but these are my favorites so far. Highly recommend Glenview LA Fitness location and group classes!

Please inform the new fitness director (Tom?) to identify himself, to correctly identify his job description- he is NOT the club director, no matter what he thinks, to treat members with respect and not stare them down in the face, and finally, it's not "HIS club." He presents as confrontational and belittling, and I hope that's not because a member is female and he thinks he can get away with this. I've already reported him to Corporate. Thanks!
On the subject of locker break-ins: I was working out on an elliptical, quietly by myself, minding my own business, when I was stopped in the middle of this workout and asked not just to move my coat off a machine, but told it was imperative that I leave the area and put it in a locker. Meanwhile, there were many open machines, and also backpacks all over the floor in front of me. I have never before heard of a manager bullying a woman off a machine and demanding that she leave and go to the locker room. I then put my coat on the floor, but that wasn't okay either. Would you talk to a man like this? I didn't have a lock with me. Are you going through the club now asking everyone to pick up their property and put it in lockers? And what if someone broke into the lockers? I am stunned.
I would also like to respectfully suggest that LA Fitness find a way for members to give suggestions that won't feel threatening to the management. And please be careful about disciplining members in front of other members; pick your battles. A coat on a machine (and this happens all the time) is not nearly the problem that people talking on speakerphone is. And a coat on a machine is in a safer place than a bag in the middle of the floor. I expect that I, all female members, and indeed all members will be treated with the respect we deserve in the future- even if we had the audacity to submit a request to Corporate. Thank you for your understanding of this.

There is a strong, unpleasant smell in the men’s locker room, and it has been like this for several months. It’s awful! Can’t the management solve this problem?! This is not the smell of athletes; it’s the smell of sewage. Check the plumbing and ventilation systems!

I’m giving it three stars because GOOD GOD , me and my friend came there to get a good lift session in and we was hounded to sign up for personal training. Like you guys showed great customer service but if I already say no leave me alone. Work on not being so pushy about it , and be more natural with your pitch. Like we were followed around while trying to do our workout and didn’t even do them fr because we wanted to leave at that point. Won’t be back to that facility for sure.
Also, coming from someone who did sales, work on being an attentive listener and not rushing through ya pitch. Quick talker , not a good listener. Facility nice and clean tho , I will give ya’ll that ! Lol

They scammed my 86 year old grandmother into a $450 a month personal trainer. Now they are refusing to cancel it and continue to call us asking for payment. It is horrifying and I would never suggest this gym to anyone. I am disgusted. Scary to think that these types of people exist. Cisco the head of this scammed us and refused to speak with us. Please stay far far away.

I brought in 2 kids with me thinking i had 2 memberships and a guest pass- the manager stopped me and started to yell asking for the membership info - another manager stepped in seeing that the other one is raising voice- the polite one was able to explain the type of membership i have hence I offered to pay for my 2nd child - but the first manager Vanik A was still was yelling when we were walking away : “I am also a manager! “ Excuse me - what is wrong with your staff? How is it that a male manager is yelling at a woman with 2 kids like there is some type of crime committed? Very unprofessional- please train your staff how to handle customer service issues. I went to get the name of Vanik A- and he said please call me! I am sorry why would I call you??? Also when the nice manager was trying to look up my account Vanik yelled look up her phone number- excuse me? Who is her? First of all simple “you can the account by using the phone number “ is more proper….how do you promote someone to manager’s role who doesn’t have basic moral standards?Mr. Vanik here is my advice learn to sell instead of harassing customers. Finally Thank you to the 2nd manager Andrew G. who was able to be polite till the end and explained how membership works. I ask that the corporate office contact me regarding this matter- many thanks.

I've been a signature club member of LA Fitness for a few years. This gym is absolutely nothing special. The front desk staff are a bunch of kids on a power trip. I was at this location with a guest yesterday and was charged a guest fee by Sam Minnis. Had never had this happen to me before and my membership includes 2 free guests to come with me. Numerous times i've seen people walk into this gym without even scanning in. Half the time there is no one at the front desk! He claims i left the gym and that I just let me guest in. He also claimed there wasn't a manager in the building on a friday afternoon which is absurd. These kids are running this location into the ground and corporate needs to look into this location. Waiting to get a call back from management as i'm furious with this recent experience! (Funny how there are soo many horrible reviews about this kid as well)

June 10, first and last time coming to this location. I had arrived at 6:05pm and went into the men’s locker room and placed my belongings and my personal lock on locker #29. I finish my workout around 7:52pm and come back to the locker room to see my lock missing on #29. I open it and my gym bag had been opened and my belongings distorted and all $103 of my cash inside my wallet had been taken. I reported it to the front desk attendant immediately and he said he would take my information and call the police so I can file a report with them. He also mentioned I was the second person to report this TODAY. I asked if he could review the video footage and he tells me there are no cameras, not even any outside of the locker that work. Unbelievable. While waiting for the police to arrive, I go back to the lockeroom to double check if anything had been left behind or if I was missing anything else and I warned the other people inside that there have been multiple break-ins today. Another patron said the same thing happened to him 5/6 months ago. If this is a continuing occurrence; then clearly the management is not doing a good enough job to protect their patrons’ valuables. You shouldn’t have to finish your workout and come back to your locker broken into, lock gone, and cash in your wallet gone. Go to a different location or better yet, a different gym.

The staff is friendly that's why I'm giving 3 stars. But the state of the equipment is the worst I've seen in any LA FITNESS I've ever been to. Some machines are way too old and don't work as they should any more (especially the lat pull ones). This could lead to injury. Also there are not enough machines for regular use. Yet large areas are unused and reserved for personal training use only. What a waste, for both the space and money spent on personal training here.

Sam and Stephan didn't let me in as a guest because my friend, who's a member, had to leave due to an emergency.
Normally, I come with my girlfriend using one membership. Honestly, I've seen people come in without membership, and they're not checked. But they wouldn't make a one-time exception for me. I was a member in this gym for a year, but now we started to use one membership with my girlfriend.
I get it, it's their right not to let me in, but they can make one-time exceptions.
Stephan's attitude was terrible. He looked at me like I was a piece of garbage.
If you’re will check other people’s reviews, I am not the only one arguing about them.

This gym has some of the worst management I’ve ever had to deal with. Sam minnis a “manager” was the most unprofessional worker I’ve ever had to deal with. He was on the phone with his “girlfriend” as I was trying to sign up for a membership he paid me no hospitality and no attention. This is not the way to be treated when spending my hard earned money to go to the gym. I will never come back to this location again nor will I go to another LA FITNESS AGAIN BECAUSE OF SAM MINNIS.

I was visiting this location for the first time as I bought the membership with access to all gyms locations, and I brought a guest with me along with 2 other la fitness members. We were coming from a different location La fitness to play basketball because the location we were at was packed. My friend had filled out a guest form but for some odd reason the general manager as he stated ( SAM MINNIS ) was giving us a hard time and not letting my guest in. Sam was very unprofessional about it to start off with. ( attitude and power trip ).. and then I see Sam was on a FaceTime call during our whole conversation. And when I asked him to put it away he refused and stayed on the call. I let him know his actions were very unprofessional and that I was going to contact corporate. In retaliation to that which I also thought was very unprofessional and uncalled for Sam told me he was “ going to write a note under my account so I don’t get let in the gym “ I asked him to please let me know what it is he is writing down because i know I did nothing wrong and he is getting his feelings involved on the job by retaliating. I pull my phone out to record his actions and then he tells me he is not going to write anything down and he was just trying to “ scare me “ I told him that I recorded him typing and him unsharing his screen with me so it’s not in my view so I can’t see what he’s typing and he says “ do u have proof “ I was shocked of how childish and immature that comment was. Later I went back to my location and asked to pull up what he wrote under my account and Sam had lied when he said he wasn’t going to write down anything. I was very disappointed and upset about this whole situation because what Sam did was not right nor was it professional since he is the manager. I asked for anyone above his position and Sam said he was the manager. This is very wrong and unacceptable to have a manager position but acting unprofessional.

I had signed up for the 6 day free membership pass and had been going to LA with no problem all week. However, today on the 5th day of the membership pass I was stopped at sign in and explained to that the ‘6’ day pass was only a 1 day (which was not stated anywhere) and i’d have to pay $20 for a one day pass. They said it was a one day pass from the start and i’m lucky that I had not been stopped before in the week. Again, this doesn’t make much sense, since on the 2nd day of the pass I sat down with the manager about my ‘6 day pass’ and that I was only working out for the week (since it’s winter break and I can’t get into school to workout) and he said that sounds good. Either way, 6 day pass or 1 day pass, I think this Staff at LA needs to get on the same page of what they think is going on in their business. I’ve never been one to write reviews, but i’m just simply using the time I set aside to workout today, in the parking typing this. Thanks LA Fitness.

This location is larger than the one in Highland Park. It has two floors with the cardio on the second. However, heat rises, so it can get warmer upstairs. I would suggest they add a few fans for cooling and/or drop the temperature down a couple of degrees.

I had been going to this LA fitness when it first opened. The last 8 years I mostly had okay experiences with the gym besides it getting busy at certain hours, their equipment being broken and their early closing hours, especially during the weekends. In my last few months of going here, a worker (by the name of JP) approached me saying I was paying absurd amounts for my monthly membership and that he would be able to give me a cheaper monthly rates. I asked if it was possible if he could switch the membership at the cheaper rate into my brothers name, which he said was possible. Fast forward a few months later, after I was told my membership was cancelled and I stopped using it, we realized we were being double charged for both my membership and my brothers. When I approached the manager (Francisco) he said he couldn’t do anything and I need to talk to upper management. When I talked to upper management they said I needed to talk to the manager. This back and forth left a bad taste in my mouth, resulted in me not getting any of my money back and ultimately me leaving this lying disgraceful gym, after years of my loyalty and membership. If this is how they treat a loyal longtime customer, what will they do to you when an issue arrives?

They can do a better job of repairing the broken machines! Sometimes overcrowded! Another suggestion is to extend the hours of operation!

Have been coming to this club since it first opened. I totally understand that the club is not responsible for lost items BUT the club should be held responsible for items stolen out of a locker with a lock on it. My father’s locker along with three other locked lockers had their locks lasered off and items stolen. The front desk response was “we will file a police report, sorry”. No one contacted my father afterward, the club did not offer any type of compensation (ie one month free). Absolutely nothing was done by this club. For someone that has been a member since they were Ballys, it’s super disappointing that while members enjoy the amenities, what seems to be an inside job, allows for lockers to be rummaged through and personal belongings stolen.

When I walked in with my friend yesterday, there was a stranger who did not scan in. I was assumed to be the person who did not scanned in, so the manager made me scan again. I asked him "why I had to scan in again?", and he just stared at me until I scanned in again. The issue I see was that there were three people at the front desk, and no one was able to accurately scan people in.
More concerning about yesterday's visit was that my friend's and my locks were cut. Clearly, someone broke into the locker room and cut locks. However, nothing was stolen physically-but my wallet was in there. My driver license, credit care information and etc. I cancelled my cards and requested for new ones. I reported this issue and asked for a follow-up. The confusion from the staff including the manager made me concern about my safety. Also, the way I was treated at the front desk did not make me feel welcome. well as I was advised I would hear back from their operation manager in the morning today. No update until now.

I have had this membership for over two years. Overall it's not a bad gym, but it definitely requires vigilance in compliance with some behaviors from other visitors. Yesterday while I was enjoying the pool with one of my best friends, a guy was watching us from a chair, next to the pool, and he didn't even have swimwear on, he even had shoes on, he was there for almost 40 minutes? what was he doing? then some guys came in with normal clothes including shoes and just put their feet in the jacuzzi, probably sweaty after training. It was terribly gross. Where was the administration at that time? 🤢😵💫🫥

I had to change my rating. This gym feels like a daycare. A bunch of kids in groups of 4 huddle around. The kids don’t bother me, what bothers me is their lack of gym etiquette. All of them act like they are the main character. They throw their belongings everywhere
They block machines by hanging out in groups and sitting down on machines they don’t use. They never put weights back. Staff should start enforcing the rules and start reminding them their mothers aren’t here to clean up after them

I have been attending the Zumba classes for past 2 months and I must say that I enjoy every second of the sessions conducted by Kerzie and Isaiah. I would appreciate the management if they can have more sessions by them during the weekdays. Also the Body plus abs session by Brian is awesome and it is a must try. 🙂

I'm not going to trash this particular facility because the people there were nice and did everything they could to help. This company can go to hell. I started a membership here because I work less than a minute away from the gym in the same complex. 8 days after I started my membership, before I even used it, I was told that my business is being closed and I'm out of work at the end of the week. I went to the gym to see if I could get me money back and they told me I had to talk to corporate. Corporate made it look like they had their hands tied and that there is absolutely nothing they can do. I believe the people at the gym. Nobody should believe corporate. Their hands aren't tied. They are trash. At what level of you company do you stop hiring actual people with a conscience? What a trash company. But hey, I'm sure you need that money more than a freshly laid off medical staffer needs to pay their bills.

The locker rooms are dirty, my girl said it's the same thing with the women's, but only on weekends Sat and Sunday.
I almost threw up when I saw the grime on the tiles in the pool.
It's disgusting and clearly a health Hazzard. My girl is afraid to go back in.

One of the biggest LA fitness I’ve been, several equipments and all, but couldn’t finish my workout since it’s WAY TOO humid and there is no enough ventilation on the lifting area. Almost passed out and was dizzy! Too hot and the machines are clearly not often cleaned or maintained well.

The pool is discusting! It has grime all over the tiles, hasn't been cleaned since I started using it. Complaints have gone to staff and been ignored. I'm contacting the IL Department of Health, so hopefully some action will be taken. Swim at your own risk.

I cancelled my membership on Feb and one of the staff made a mistake to cancel it correctly and kept charging me. They clearly made a mistake and I asked for an apologies, but the manager just kept saying it was my fault. I was not asking for a refund, but an apologies and they kept saying its my fault.
