Lots of equipment and amenities. what’s dropped the stars is the outdated benches. they don’t adjust well or lock into place. A bit of a safety hazard. People consistently don’t clean up after themselves, plates on the floor also safety hazard.

I’ve been coming here for over 20 years. The past 5 years have had a huge decline. All of the equipment is now outdated. There are frequently times where the majority of the cardio equipment does not work. Most of the treadmills have had incorrect track alignment for years with no maintenance. The free weight area for a gym with a membership group of this size is ridiculously small. If you tilt your head up in any area of this facility you will see dust piles that have been accumulating since the facility has opened. In the main vestibule there has been a towel sitting above the doors for years. There is visible mold and clumps of dust throughout the upper floor directly above the drop ceilings. There have been times where I have been in the hot tub and a clump of dirt/dust has fallen from the pipes above directly into the hot tub. The pickleball area is too small (for the amount of members) and also requires additional membership. For the past few years there have been price increases that seem to be quarterly. I do not mind paying a premium for a premium gym but this is far from it. With new gyms (VASA) opening up in the area I would steer clear of this facility. I believe the problems stem from corporate negligence.

I’ve been a longtime member at Life Time Fitness, and I’ve always been impressed with the quality of the facilities and the variety of classes offered. Recently, I experienced some unexpected increases to my membership, but the leadership team and general manager responded quickly and resolved the issue right away.

It’s a great club that I highly recommend to families and anyone interested in fitness classes. The pool, sauna, and wide range of morning and afternoon classes are fantastic—there’s truly nothing else like it in the community.

We had taken our twin boys for their 1st ever swim lessons at Life Time Fitness in Algonquin and it was overall a wonderful and pleasant experience from the moment we walked through the door to when we headed home. We were greeted with a friendly warmth by Lindsey at the front desk who helped us find our way. The family locker room to the pool was clean and made changing the boys a breeze. The staff at the pool were great and the Pool instructor, Mr. Alex, was pleasant and very patient with our boys. We know they can be a handful but he handled them with such poise and positivity that the little guys couldn't wait for their next swim lesson. Overall this was such a great experience and would recommend it for anyone looking to get their kiddos into swimming! Loved it!

This one was for an Experience that happened to me 7 years ago, as you can see, I haven’t let it go. And for good reasons, if anyone wants to just give me $70 they can say whatever they want about my post but if you’re not willing to do that then you’d probably be as upset as I am because $70 isn’t cheap. They had a bad salesperson giving out deals he wasn’t supposed to so they weren’t going to honor what he had sold me so I said ok that I just wanted a refund on the month since I only ever got the membership because the deal was too good to pass on, I hadn’t used the gym that month, I had just gotten billed like 4-5 days before this happened so I was thinking ok I’ll get my refund for the month they just billed me for and call it a day no harm no foul but they pointed me to their polices which I told them there should be an exception in my scenario because it was a membership one of their employees had sold me, him giving out deals he wasn’t allowed to wasn’t my fault and fell under false advertising. I’m trying to figure something out with the guy at the front because I’ve been wronged by this establishment and this guy could care less about my situation and just kept saying they weren’t going to do anything about their mistake. I couldn’t stand the attitude of the receptionist and the situation in general, so I blew up at him, went back in forth for a bit and left. I Reached out to corporate, and they gave me the sympathetic “sorry that happened to you” and “How can we make this right?” I’m thinking awesome problem solved. So I say all I want is my refund, and I get …………… “yeah no” “I can give you half off for next month” I was in disbelief, why would I want to go back to a gym who’s staff was rude to me and wronged me? You’re telling me with all the money there scamming everyone out of I couldn’t get $70 back. Ceo makes 15 million and I can’t get $70 back? They basically told me to go Kick Rocks, but it felt more like the vulgar expression of that one. I can’t say for sure because I may have the years off by 1 or 2 but I’m almost positive I was a minor in this story because I remember having to call my dad for permission to make the account, I could be wrong but regardless I was young so naïve and dumb. I know this isn’t going to change the situation and I’m most likely going to get an automated reply saying “Sorry this happened to you will do better in the future” which I’m telling you right now will not help my situation so don’t bother, but hopefully this helps someone make their decision on committing to this gym which I would say I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!

Lots of amenities… but that doesn’t make up for the short comings. Most frustrating are the weights people don’t put away. There are staff on the floor - no enforcement - I raised my kids.. now I gotta clean up after others just to use equipment. Personal trainers stand around chatting… don’t wipe down equip after use… There use to be a gentleman cleaning every time I was there .. haven’t seen that in the last 8 weeks and it shows. Life spa protein shakes leave a lot to be desired. The white benches need to be replaced. they are a safety hazard. several do not lock into place when decreasing the angle

I’ve been a member of Lifetime Fitness in Algonquin for over 20 years, and unfortunately, the quality of the gym has declined significantly over the past five years. The equipment is poorly maintained and frequently out of order. I even witnessed someone get injured due to faulty equipment. The spin bikes upstairs are in rough shape, and many of the treadmills skip while in use.

More recently, equipment has started to go missing. Several pull-down bars have disappeared and have not been replaced. There also seems to be little to no management presence on weekends. This morning, weights were scattered across the dirty floors. For over three months, I’ve asked for the exercise and Bosu balls to be properly inflated, but nothing has been done.

Despite the ongoing increase in membership dues, the level of service and upkeep has steadily declined. I’ve reached out to corporate, but unfortunately, that hasn’t led to any improvements.

The only reason I continue to attend is the convenience of the location and the great friendships I’ve built over the years. This used to be an outstanding gym that I looked forward to visiting, but it’s disappointing to see how far it has deteriorated .

Not good for pickleball, they don’t have enough open play time at night and all they want is that you pay more to join a league. 2 courts for 16 or 18 people only 2 hours in the afternoon. Unless your DUPR is 4.0+ then you will love it

31Jul2025 Vanessa is probably one of the most consistently friendly faces operating the cafe. If you were ever looking for a reason to visit this location, it would be the opportunity to meet such a great person. Definitely recommend for manager material.

19May2025 (4 Stars) Male staff acting inappropriately at the front desk and café. Making unnecessary slamming noises with desk & drink refrigerator equipment. Violence is anything that frightens another person. If you're gonna have us sign, a waiver to not commit violence, then a staff needs to adhere as well.

This is not the best gym when it comes to cleanness and good working, SAFE machines. Every time I go to this gym, I always find something wrong. Let press machine spring pin is broken. Spring tension doesn't lock and cause your legs to fly while mushing down with all you're might. Some one is going to get seriously hurt. All the time there is cleaning whips on the floor and it stays there for hours. This gym obviously doesn't have a team member walk the floor every 30 minutes to check the place. Don't step on a cleaning wipe, you might slip and fall! Everything is over priced and this place has some serious safety hazards. The guest privilege guidelines are bad. I have a girlfriend and I can only a bring her once every 60 days. This lifetime corporation is the worst. They don't want to keep you for a lifetime, that's for sure. Oh and the alpha classes speakers and music doesn't work half the time. Poor instructor is always having problems with the mic. The bike and running machines digital pad that reads out your calorie burn doesn't work HALF OF THE TIME. the instructor always says that she told them but on my next class it is never fix. Other life times are better at keeping things in order. I just think the all of lifetimes gym are starting to become poor quality. They take your money and let the gym go to the ground.

I’m giving two stars only because I really enjoyed the classes, especially Zumba. However, I had to cancel my membership because this gym did not meet my expectations.

For the high membership price ($160/month), I expected a clean, modern facility with new equipment, but that was far from reality. The entire place is filthy—dust everywhere, old machines packed so close together that you can literally feel the next person breathing in your ear. The gym is also way too small for the number of members.

Another huge issue is cleanliness. There are very few sanitization stations, so if you want to clean a machine after use, you have to walk across the entire gym to get wipes and then come back. This is extremely inconvenient and unhygienic.

And let’s talk about the outrageous prices at the cafeteria downstairs—$60 for protein powder, and if you work out four times a week and want to buy a smoothie after each session, that’s another $160/month. For such an expensive gym, this feels like a complete rip-off. No member discounts whatsoever.

I had very high expectations, but overall, I was extremely disappointed. This is not the level of service I expected for such a high membership fee.
FYI: Don’t ingnore the bad reviews like I did, everything in these reviews is true.

This place has become so greedy. It is not only outdated In a lot of areas, but just continues to charge extra on basic things. Paying over 100 a month to have to pay extra for pickleball playtime, reformer Pilates, and only allowing a guest to come every 60 days regardless of having guest passes. Overpriced, outdated, and greedy.

Had the absolute worst experience with a personal trainer here. The trainer asked strange personal questions on my first day as a member. He asked what medications I was on. When I told him I was prescribed Adderall, he asked me why and then told me to immediately stop taking it if I really want to focus on my gym goals. Having absolutely no evidence to support why he said I should stop taking it. Not to mention when I showed him my workout routine on my phone that I had been mixing around and evolving for the past 2 years with tons of results, he asked "Who made this?" When I told him I did, he told me it was terrible and that I would not see any results with this routine whatsoever. What was really strange to me is that after the interaction, I looked him up on Lifetime's app of personal trainers and he was nowhere to be found.

Gym has been going downhill as of late while they continue to raise the rate. They seem to care more about pickle ball than repairing their gym equipment. They also recently moved gym equipment closer together and took out weight racks which has people leaving weights on machines. People can't get between machines and constantly get in way when equipment is being used. Also there's teenagers constantly taking pictures in locker room and management does absolutely nothing.

Been thinking of getting a membership & got a day pass to try it out. Mostly everything is great. I love the cardio equipment & amenities. However, the actual weight machines are extremelyy outdated & super janky! They are so run down, It’s so surprising that a fitness club with “state of the art” equipment has not upgraded the most important part of a gym. (arm curl / tricep ext / hip abd etc… )
The space between these machines is also super tight considering the workout floor is actually huge with space available. Makes no sense.
Planet fitness has better equipment for not even 10% of the membership price.
Disappointed :/

Love the classes, great hours and I’ve been a member for a few years. But this place needs some deep cleaning and repair. Lots of dust, dirt, sickness and hair on the floors/equipment. Women’s locker room is disgusting with swimsuit liners, bandaids, undergarment stuff, hair and just plain gross bodily fluids everywhere! The doors don’t even close for the changing rooms, hinges have been broken for a year. Lots of the treadmills are broken, gotta try 2-3 before you find one that’s not broken. Some the bikes are also broken in the cycle class. Oh, and they’ve banned backpacks shortly after I bought a very expensive gym bag. Lifecafe is wildly expensive ($10 for a protein shake). Can’t keep charging more if the facility keeps getting worse. Love the place but it’s needs serious physical work.

Top tier gym in the Algonquin area. The service is always there to either put on a smile or give you one. It is never too terribly busy, but you definitely have to plan out your visit time to avoid the pre/post work rushes.

While the facilities are well-maintained, I joined this gym specifically for its fitness classes, which have been disappointing. The schedule is terrible. No classes are offered during prime hours (5-7 am). Additionally, if they have classes during this time it require separate payment beyond the membership fee, and when they are offered, they're consistently overcrowded. Weekend classes face similar issues. I cannot recommend this gym to people who have a job with office hours seeking included fitness classes as part of their membership."

first a disclaimer - I am a yoga teacher at lifetime in Algonquin so I although I personally think our yoga teachers are AWESOME, I'll just comment on the overall facility and staff - suffice it to say the group fitness teachers and personal trainers are truly dedicated to your well being and extremely talented at motivating you to go a little further - our motto is "we help people live happier, healthier lives" and we mean that from the heart. The moment you walk in, you know you're welcome - the people at the front desk are never too busy to smile and say hello and I am always pleasantly surprised at their continued awareness that they are the front line - the first people you see - the vibe is simply wonderful - the people who work in the cafe do their best to cook up new ideas for nutritional delicious treats - often you'll see people gathering, talking, and enjoying. I have been a member for more than a decade and yes, covid was not fun - I didn't work there at the time and it wasn't until covid was over that I started to use the free lifetime app which frankly was life changing - EVERYTHING is on there for you - finally, the people who work out at lifetime Algonquin are a friendly helpful lot - as a woman over 50 it was hard for me to start weight training - I felt intimidated by all the men working out and like I didn't belong. Took me awhile, but I finally asked for help and you know what? not one person has ever been unfriendly or unwilling to show me how to use a machine or help me to feel like I belong - I am so grateful for the gift of weight and strength training - the changes have been remarkable to say the least. Is lifetime algonquin perfect? No, but I can tell you from personal experience that the people who work there and the members who work out there are all striving to be their best self which creates a constant healthy happy vibe, a beautiful irreplaceable gift of being a member of lifetime fitness Algonquin. Finally, let's talk about pricing - yep the rates have gone up but I think it's still a bargain - if you play pickleball, swim, take group fitness classes, love to steam, sauna, pamper yourself in a great spa, practice yoga, love zumba, or get your jam on with a studio bike class, I think the price is still more than reasonable when compared to other facilities that offer even one of these anemities. Ok, that's my humble opinion - no matter what, keep reaching for a happier, healthier life !

I honestly have been very disappointed the last year being here. First of all last year lifetime tried charging people to attend to go to the outdoor pool, it suppose to be apart of our rate. I was sitting at the pool and the seats smell like mold. Do they not pickup the seats when it rains? It’s honest gross and made me sick. Nothing is taken care of. Another problem is little boys in the women’s locker room with nothing being done about it. There is literally a sign outside the door saying no other genders, yet I have seen plenty of little boys in the women’s locker room. Opposite genders should not be in the locker room. There is a family bathroom for a reason. Plus to see people parking in the expecting mothers is absurd. For it to be men walking out of their cars or people who work for lifetime! This is unjust! Then the fact that the basketball court is closed all day during the summer for camp is crazy. This should also be an amenity of the cost. Also having to pay for pickle ball! I had someone come up me and others I know in the gym that were kicked off the equipment due to classes. Yet after being kicked off the equipment was not even being use by the class. How is it far to kick off the people who pay the same amount to go to the gym then interrupted during my workout to get off for classes. To continue last year when the rule of no duffle bags! We were told that backpacks are okay, so I wanted to get a nice bag so I ended up buying a wolfpack bag which are $150 to all the sudden not being able to use them. I’ve gone through 3 gym bags at this point. Yet there are people who still bring them upstairs. Also pricing going up due to the club changing levels for nothing to change in the gym… The only thing difference in the gym are bathroom products. If our price goes up i’d love to see changes in the gym. The only thing good about this gym are the people who work the front desk everything else needs to be changed. This is honestly ridiculous and absurd! Changed need to be made!

Last Sunday 08.04.2024 I had awful customer service experience. I brought my nephews and my mother and my daughter with me. When I asked to take them with me I was given all the information how it should happen according to the rules. But from the very beginning, I felt some hostility towards me, when I stood aside to gather all the documents, a kind of horror began! A woman at the front desk yelled at me four times to move to one side, then to the other, the children were asked a couple of times where is their mother and who they are to me (the children were frightened by the manner it was asked). I asked that woman what is wrong, why she behaves so rude. I was given the answer that these are American rules, since I am not American, I was very offended to hear this and I said that yes, I am not American, but there is no need to treat me like that. In response, I was told that I can complain to whoever I want and how much I want.

In summer, the water in the pool outside is very cold. My child gets upset every time that he can’t swim there. You can't swim in the indoor pool either, because it's just hellishly hot indoors and this is in the summer. Why pay for this? Last year we visited the outdoor pool at Norwestern Sports Club and it was great. Warm water, more fun for children in the water. We changed positions at Life Time and thought to improve the conditions, but it turned out the other way around.

This used to be the best place to go, not so much anymore. All they care about here is taking more and more of your money. Constantly raising rates, not caring that not only am I a number of 14 years, but also a former employee who worked there for 2+ years. Manager emailed me trying to say they need to raise my rate because it's cheaper than everyone else. And if you're trying to speak with the club manager? Good luck finding him. I asked him about getting a clock in the basket court almost a year ago. There are two clocks on the pickleball court, but nothing on the basketball side. Still waiting......And if you're trying to play basketball? Good luck with that too. Pretty sure they're trying to get rid of us completely. It started with losing one court to pickleball, and the other one is constantly being used for other purposes. In the fitness area if a machine is broken? Don't expect it to be fixed anytime soon. The place is constantly dirty. Dirty machines, floors, towels always lying around. Maybe go back to 24hrs and have people clean up overnight like was done in the past. You can afford to pay them with what you charge nowadays.

Lifetime Algonquin - Childcare Fails New Moms

As a new mom who joined Lifetime in October, I'm incredibly disappointed with the childcare situation. Here's why:

Misinformed Staff: Staff wasn't even aware of the childcare hours, which are limited due to a 4:1 infant-to-care provider ratio. This might explain the limited hours, but it's frustrating when you can't get a straight answer. The confusion extends beyond basic hours. Staff verbally tells me childcare runs from 9-12, but the app also shows slots from 5-7 pm. This inconsistency is frustrating, especially considering it doesn't align with the fitness class schedule. As a new mom seeking to get my pre-pregnancy body back, group fitness classes are a huge motivator. Being deprived of this option due to mismatched childcare hours is incredibly disappointing.

Unresponsive Management: Attempts to reach Eric, someone in management, to discuss the issue and get clarification on future plans resulted in zero response. This lack of communication is unacceptable.

Reservation Hassle: Even with a childcare subscription, reservations are required. Finding available slots is difficult, often forcing me to miss workouts entirely due to scheduling conflicts.

Impact on Mental Health: Limited childcare options prevent new moms from attending classes, hindering workouts crucial for mental well-being. This can worsen postpartum depression and frustration.

Overall: If you're a new mom considering the Kids Academy at Lifetime Algonquin, look elsewhere! Their current system fails to meet the needs of new mothers. Do better, Lifetime! This location is simply not worth the investment for childcare.

Update as of 11/10/2023: Oh dear, what a disappointing experience. I received notice of a rate increase on 11/7, and to add to the frustration, "the system" reverted my club location to the previous one. After investigating, both clubs blamed each other. Finally, when I contacted Algonquin, they explained the automatic club location change was due to my current rate. Guess they didn't want me to pay less money. :)

It also makes me question the purpose of the membership location agreement if the system can arbitrarily assign a different location. Despite understanding their lack of control over this, canceling my membership post-rate increase was met with a demand for a 30 day written notice. They initially wanted me to physically go to the location to cancel, which I find absurd. To make matters worse, if I cancel today (11/10), they still plan to charge me for December at the new rate, despite notifying me on 11/7. Make it make sense. You can't give me 30 day notice but expect me to?

It feels like either the system is severely flawed or this is a deliberate decision by Lifetime. I expected some cooperation in resolving this issue, but it seems nothing short of robbery and unfairness. Even their representative acknowledged it. :) I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience has left a bitter taste.

OLD REVIEW*** So far so good, though I wish they'd show a little more love to the basketball courts. The basketball rims need an upgrade and a more consistent maintenance schedule.

Great location. Never have a problem finding an open machine in the morning! Friendly staff as well!

They're also doing some renovations to the gym area and locker rooms!

I went to check out the gym and was given a tour. It was way too crowded and I told the guy I wasn't interested in paying that much money to wait around. I just wanted to get my workout done and go home. His hail Mary was to lead me into the dark yoga studio and basically corner me and force me to say yes to the membership.

Overall gym is great - plentiful amount of machines and cardio equipment though it does get crowded after 3pm and even slightly at 4am. Gym is clean and well organized as you would expect from costly membership.
Biggest downer is the calamity in the gym when their "Alpha Train" goes on every day from 6-7pm. Music coming from classes room is fine, that is normal, but when you pair it up with background music and PT's speaker blasting in the weightlifting area you get insane dissonance. Its impossible to focus because of that and in my opinion that is prime time for most people to get in and get their training done so if you want to workout during this time make sure to either bring your headphones or pick a different time. When addressed at front desk was told that yeah its routine. Blasting music for two people in the "Alpha Train" session while ruining the workout for 40+ other members.

I've been going to LifeTime Fitness for more than a year, and I love it! The gym has awesome new equipment and a huge space to work out comfortably. They have both indoor and outdoor pools, so I can swim no matter the weather. After a tough workout, I can relax in the sauna.

The staff is super friendly and helpful, and there's a Life Cafe right there for yummy and healthy meals or snacks after exercising.

I highly recommend LifeTime Fitness if you want a great place to work out with fantastic facilities and a friendly atmosphere! 👍

I really wanted to get a membership back at lifetime. Not a fan of my current gym and I’ve always liked lifetime. So I spent the $40 for the day pass. YES $40 TO WORKOUT FOR 2 hours. I haven’t been to this location in about 2 years. And was very shocked to see that literally nothing has changed about this place. Nothing new and exciting. But they want to charge $140 for a membership?!? So no updates have been made to this place since the last time I was here two years ago. Where is all that membership money going? They surely don’t have a lack of memberships due to how busy this gym always is. Also paid $70 for a membership at the time as well. I mean what a joke. I refuse to sign up at this gym now. Such greed from this company. There super small shakes even cost $10 now. They used to be actually affordable. Why would a company make, living a healthy lifestyle so expensive. Such a shame.

Now they want more money for the outdoor pool that has always been included in the membership. I have been a member since 2009! This is ridiculous. Don't bother coming here they nickel and dime for everything. I have always loved it but this is not ok.

For the money they charge they should be 24hrs instead the gym is overpacked in the evenings to a point where you have to wait for equipment. If u come with a partner forget about getting two treadmills next to one another. Last night i changed treadmills 3 times because they were either not operational or made weird noises. Seems to me like they have way too many members and now its overcrowded. I dont worry about covid but if you do this is definitely not a place for you. They have a great kids club for the little ones but thats where the good things end. Water in the pool was so heavily chlorinated it hurts your eyes. Now the pool is closed because the water is supposably getting replaced( maybe it will address the chlorine concern). The slides are almost never open so why even have them? lifetime needs to open another location in the area. I am seriously considering quitting due to the overcrowding. Even when i have a day off from work and come in the middle of the week at 10am its crowded. Evening are unbearable. I was offered free swimming lessons for my 6 year old. Now for a month i have been trying to get charges reversed from the aquatics department and they are still charging me. I spoke to everyone there (when they chose to pick up the phone) i was told on several occasions that the charges will be reversed and i will not be charged but they sure keep going. I would be very careful signing up to anything in that club. It seems easy to get charged for things you never used but impossible to stop them from taking money out of your account without your permission. After several attempts someone finally stopped the charges but my money was refunded in weird amount which did not total up to the actual charges but after dealing with it for a while i just let it go.

I love this club and visit it almost everyday! Reading the reviews on here do not match at all with my experience and quite frankly it’s sad to see people tear down a place because it doesn’t cater to their world. 10/10 would recommend going here the staff is always friendly and the trainers are always at the desk upstairs to answer any questions you might have. Compared to other gyms around here it is a little pricey but you get way more from lifetime then you’ll find anywhere close to crystal lake/ Algonquin.

Can you please hire more diverse staff at the Kids Academy?

I went today to drop of my child and the staff was not welcoming. They had an attitude. They smiled and were nice to other white parents but were very blunt with me who is Asian looking.
Maybe because of my race, maybe not.
But when I went to pick up my son who was crying and walking after the caregiver to catch her attention, she won’t turn and just ignore him.

The staff looks very annoyed and unhappy. No smile whatsoever.
Maybe hire people who are more cheerful and happier since they work with children.

Normally I don’t like to complain but today I felt that I was not treated equally nor my child.

In the past I loved this club. But hours of operation should go back to 24 hours. They continue to raise their prices while not returning to 24 hours. We are paying for a club that is a 24 hour club, however not getting that service. And to be clear, when they were 24 hours, they had a doorbell that you would ring, and the maintenance person who happen to be there overnight would let you in. So their costs were not raised by being open 24 hours. However, they continue to refuse to go back to their pre-pandemic hours, while charging us more and more. They also continuously rearrange things upstairs in the wait area. I think they’re trying to look like they’re doing construction, so spending some money, but if they are spending any money, it is minimal and completely unneeded. There is no new equipment. Just things being rearranged with “construction sheeting” hung. There is no need to do any “construction” every single year while never getting any new equipment. This “construction” is bothersome, gets in the way, and brings nothing new or better. It is just an excuse to raise prices while never going back to the 24 hour club we paid for in the start.

We had several issues. We called and kept getting put off. I escalated my concern and was guaranteed a call from senior management. I never received a call. Our issues were never resolved. Ultimately, I understand and can excuse having a bad experience or issues with hidden fees/miscommunication— what is inexcusable, is when senior management doesn’t live up to promises and can’t even fulfill one request for a phonecall. The lower level employees and policies cannot be the scapegoat for a bad customer experience when the issues clearly are simply tricking down from the top. Many recent reviews are negative, and for good reason, but I hope they can figure this out in the future… however it won’t be at my expense.

Extremely disappointed with how things are ran in this overpriced facility. They will SCAM you into there “free swim “ classes. We took one “free” swim lesson and got charged $85.They all “Claimed”they communicated their ridiculous cancellation process, which no one explained properly. Makes no sense why you would have to cancel a free class anyhow..it’s a trap to make money out of people.
Anyhow, Every time I tried to call to cancel, no one was available and the one time they finally called back was untimely and only to tell
Me they charged me for my child’s “free” class. Also they don’t return emails….Therefore making “policy” to cancel anything made to be very difficult. childcare was its own set of issues.you have to reserve a spot for you child under one and it is extremely difficult to find the right slot for an infant who is on a schedule of their own. Most days I could Not get in to childcare..
The rules to reserving was a pain,no flexibility!!This place is a Waste of money and time.

The facility itself, is GREAT! However, member services is very unprofessional. These employees aren't trained. I'm often misguided by different employees about their rules and regulations. Most recently, I went away to school and have been paying a monthly due to keep my membership active. Upon my return, the gym increased my dues $22.12 per month -- the purpose of having your account on flex is to avoid paying the sign up fees and to retain your current rate. They took my money, AND they raised my rate. i'm very disappointed with their service. I've talked to several managers at this location and quite honestly, none of them know how to answer a question directly. It's very insulting that you expect members to just allow you to misguide them and then become upset when your ethics and culture as a company is questioned. Let it be known, i will warn every member i know about your lack of transparency, and how you mislead your members. Again, facility is great.. but for what you're paying the service is mediocre. Please keep in mind that MEMBERS DON'T WORK FOR YOU, and It's not OUR fault your employees are going around giving wrong information. So, please don't expect to hold your members accountable for the mistakes of your employees. With that said, I spoke to the schaumburg GM and he was very understanding, was able to work with me. I'm disgusted by how this location tried to take money from me without holding up their end of the contract. MEMBERS PLEASE BE AWARE! ask for a copy of anything you sign, and question any increases you see. This company is ONLY revenue driven and will do anything in their power to get what they want from you.

We moved out of the area a few months ago. When we called to cancel our membership, we were told that we would have the rest of our month that was paid to use our lifetime bucks, facilities, and spa. We were told that we would receive an email to confirm that we were canceling. We received an email February seventeenth, requesting confirmation of cancellation. The email was IMMEDIATELY responded to. So, we went on with our lives.
Today, we received an email saying that we were in internal collections and they would escalate, if we didn’t pay for the months that we owed AFTER we cancelled! Steve, the rep who was “helping” us, was super rude and inconsiderate.
After he transferred us to his supervisor, everything was corrected.
This is the problem with health clubs. Lifetime Fitness is no different. They make you jump through every hoops to cancel a membership.
