I love coming here, but none of the staff will confront the people who are constantly dropping the weights even though they have signs that say dropping the weights can cause you to lose your membership. I would recommend coming after 9pm, trust me if you want to workout in peace without running into the pack of adults acting like freshman in high school. If you can put it down the weight with control then it's too dam heavy for you🤦.

I fully agree with this review. The quality has gone downhill so much it’s hard to take seriously. They’re happy to take your money, but if you raise any concerns, management gets defensive instead of listening. To make matters worse, they never answer the phone or return calls—getting any help is impossible.

You need to run fast from this gym. I’ve been a member for over 20 years, and the quality has consistently declined to the point where it’s become a joke. They’ll gladly take your money, but if you raise concerns, so-called upper management responds with a aggresive attitude instead of listening.

Brian Evans and Sebastian Cender should learn what true leadership looks like instead of acting like corporate puppets. Strong leaders resolve issues, support employees, and respect members. Unfortunately, what we see here are weak leaders with no real care for either.

It’s extremely disappointing to watch a once-great club deteriorate like this. Maybe it’s because they keep promoting trainers to run the gym instead of hiring experienced leaders who actually know how to operate a business.

I canceled my membership here after an employee named Kirk L spent two hours bothering me and attempting to bully me on the pickleball courts over having a pickleball bag on the courts.

Kirk came in and told me mid-game that I can’t have a bag on the courts (a rule exclusive to the Bloomingdale lifetime, I haven’t see any other pickleball club or lifetime with this rule).

As soon as the game ended and I went to sit down and Kirk got in my face “are you seriously going to just sit there with your bag, like I didn’t just tell you to put it in the locker?!?!”. I explained that Chet had given me permission to periodically have a bag when I was testing new paddles (I had 10 to test that day), Kirk didn’t care. He told me to dump 10 loose paddles onto the bottom of the cart they use to paddle up. I told him I don’t want 10 paddles out where they could be stolen and I didn’t want to load and unload 10 paddles. Kirk then went and took my paddle off the paddle rack where we were paddling up, and said “you’re not playing while I’m working here until you put the bag away”. I cannot stress how much I don’t want confrontational and rude employees of any establishment touching my stuff.

I move my bag to the locker room and told Kirk I’d be canceling my membership and citing his obnoxious behavior as the reason. This was where the rubber hit the road, for the remaining 90 minutes of open play Kirk kept making comments and getting in my face “I thought you quit, why are you still playing here”, “I can’t wait for you to go tell management about me, I never get mentioned”, and other things along that line. He wouldn’t leave me alone despite it being very clear that I did not want to interact with him. To make matters worse Chet showed up and went back on his permission to periodically bring a bag for paddle testing purposes. Both Chet and Kirk kept telling me if everyone would bring bags there wouldn’t be room for anything else, despite another patron pointing out to them that there were bags on the basketball courts 20 feet away and this cause no issues.

After open play I went to the front desk and began canceling my membership, but Kirk hadn’t had enough, he wanted to have one last involuntary exchange with me and made it a point to yell “BYE!” at me on his way out.

My family’s membership cost $340 a month, and for that expense I’d expect premium customer service. Instead I got followed around and annoyed by an obnoxious and insufferable bully. I hope my bag being moved was worth $4,080 per year to the lifetime management, because that’s what it will cost you.

Kirk from the Pickleball program is an absolute jerk who is rude to members and has a terrible attitude for the fact that we were shelling out $320 a month for a family of 4 to be there. I just canceled our membership due to an extremely rude interaction he had with my husband today on the pickleball court and will not be going back. First of all, at EVERY other place indoor or outdoor where there are pickleball courts, bags are allowed near the court because there is a lot of gear you need to bring - paddle, balls, glasses, shoes, towel, etc. The basketball players also are allowed to bring their bags to the courts. Well apparently this is the only place in the Chicagoland area where you can’t bring your bag to the side of the court. My husband had his underneath the bench. Kirk told him he needs to remember to put it into the locker room - annoying, but fine. If that’s the rule, it’s the rule (even if it’s a stupid rule). My husband let him know that next time he will be sure to put it in the locker room. Not good enough for Kirk apparently. Kirk proceeded to grab my husband’s paddle off of the rack and refuse to let him play until he put the bag in the locker room. He was absolutely rude and unpleasant about it, and proceeded to argue with my husband about it. There is a right way and a wrong way to get a member to follow your rules and being an absolute jerk to them is the wrong way. Will not be going back.

I truly miss my Membership at Lifetime. But life is so busy. Not much time to use this great facility.
One thing I want to mention. Maybe Directors are reading and waiting for feedbacks from people like me. Everyone from the staff do their work. It's seems like they are busy. But it's close to impossible to ask for help on how to use machines. It's part of their job. But as soon you start asking something, they are asking who is your trainer. At $120 a month fee, not many can pay $140 hourly services. With my two jobs and two social committees I was lucky to attend gym once a month. I do not mind to pay one time fee for twice a month visiting Club. But it's seems it's not an option. You are looked at as a source of money and not as human. If you can’t afford trainer you have to learn on your own on how to use machines.

This gym has always been great but lately in the late evenings theres been an issue with a group of “bros” acting like they own the gym. They act like high schoolers, hooting and yelling across the gym, harassing women, and speaking crudely in front of teens and children.

The gym manager needs to stay late one night, and you will see the group of men who are creating the problem, as the ring leader is there all day every day.

Until this problem is addressed, I wont be returning. I am also not the only member who has experienced it.

Edit: I wanted to update this as the gym manager said he would look into the problem. He actually never called me back and dodged my multiple calls and voicemails trying to follow up.

A great club, Great amenities and equipment, and even better people/ trainers here that are amazing! Truth is that I’ve been a member here for a long time and the club continues to get better. Have to give a shout out to the general manager, Brian. Since he stepped in, I’ve only seen upgrades and improvements being made here. We’re lucky to have him.

Would recommend!

I am writing to formally express my disappointment and frustration with the way I was treated at your facility on 06.09.2025, particularly regarding the denial of my guest’s access using a guest pass. At approximately 9:50 PM, I attempted to bring in a guest using the standard guest privilege included with my membership. To my surprise, the front desk staff specifically one individual who has repeatedly exhibited unprofessional behavior refused to honor the guest pass. I was told that Lifetime had “just started enforcing” a policy for after 8pm, yet I witnessed another member walk in moments before me with a guest, who was allowed in without issue. The other staff member at the desk didn’t object at all. This can be confirmed by the security footage where only one guest scanned in. This inconsistency in policy enforcement was both confusing and upsetting. It felt discriminatory and frankly disrespectful, especially considering the high cost of membership I pay each month. Guest privileges are a valued part of the Lifetime experience, and to be denied this without any clarity or fairness undermines the standards I expect from this brand.

Furthermore, this is not the first time I’ve experienced poor customer service from the same front desk employee. Her rude demeanor and dismissive tone are not in line with what I believe Lifetime stands for. I strongly urge you to review security footage from that time frame to see the discrepancy in how guests were treated. I also request that appropriate action be taken to ensure all members are treated fairly and respectfully moving forward.

Don’t want to disclose my full name here but I have some things to share:

So I have been a member here for over 10 years. I will say the new management has done a better job at keeping things in order; however, the cleanliness needs attention.

- the biggest thing is the absolutely poor shower pressure in the locker room. I mean it’s not acceptable. Take over 20 min to shower just to get enough water on your body. Need this fixed asap - I’ve heard A LOT of complaints from others in the locker room.
- we need ALL new towels sent to us. I’ve seen people clip their toe nails on them, there are stains, hairs, etc. We need to upgrade those.
- the sauna is better with it being hotter with the new heaters, but it needs to be regularly deep cleaned. Small bugs can be spotted there…

Aside from these things, the shower is probably the most frustrating to deal with. Overall, the place is good and there are very nice people and trainers there. Just need to really fix those things asap. Thank you. I would still recommend a membership there.

I’ve been a dedicated member of this gym for nearly seven years, consistently going 5–6 times a week. It's truly disheartening to see how drastically the quality of life at this facility has declined over time.
Guest privileges have been restricted to once every two months, and one of the basketball courts, specifically the side preferred by regular basketball players, has been removed to make space for a pickleball court. On top of that, there are now certain days when playing basketball isn’t even an option due to various revenue-driven programs, such as classes or low-quality daycare services, taking over the courts.
The equipment is outdated, with many machines easily 20 years old, and the gym is no longer open 24 hours—a change originally introduced during the COVID-19 pandemic but never reversed. Truly astounding for the prices the average member has to pay.
Despite continually rising membership fees, the gym has become increasingly unfriendly to athletes and bodybuilders. Instead, it now caters almost exclusively to families, offering little to no resources for serious fitness enthusiasts. I do not recommend this gym at all.

Good club for daily exercise. Excellent racquetball courts, with really super staff. Been a member since 2002 and each year there are new features like the cold massage chairs, pickleball courts, and more. While I don't used that equipment or much of the classes, mainly the weights and basketball courts, the sauna, and steam room.

A decent amount of fitness options & exercise equipment. Do like that don’t have to bring my own lock 🔒 for men’s lockers, However:
1) the water 💦 in the indoor pool 🏊‍♀️ is frigid. Am also an LA Fitness member, their pool is smaller but water 💦 st a more confortable temp.

2)Prior to Covid, this location was open 24/7; COVID was over 3 years Ago and Hours of operation haven’t returned to 24/7 despite membership fees increasing.

3) location is open till midnight during the “work week” but closes at 10AM on the weekends when most people aren’t working. Being open at least till midnight 🕛 7 days a week would be a great step in the right direction. Make this happen . Thank you

This gym is absolutely filthy. $100+ a month. Parking lot is full of trash. Barbells and machines are filthy. Dust Balls on the floor. Towels, wet wipes everywhere. All hours of the day and night. Management doesn't care, it's been like this for years and continues to get worse. Machines are old and rigged up to continue working. Treadmills don't work properly. Bathrooms are absolutely disgusting....poop and pee everywhere, they smell like a porta potty. I don't even go in them anymore and I avoid the locker rooms at all costs.

The only reason this place continues to stay open is because, despite it's poor condition, it is still one of the best gyms in the area. Sad excuse to justify such filthy conditions. Oh, did I mention many of the machines are 20 years old?

Go ahead, take a visit and see for yourself. But while the salesperson is taking you on a tour, take a few wet wipes and see for yourself how dirty it really is. Don't be fooled by the high ceilings and natural light..the place is a pit.

I really do like this gym. But I’ve pointed it out a few times to staff that the steamroom in the men’s locker room needs to be cleaned. If you go in the steamroom and wipe the ceiling this is what you’ll find. Paying $149/month is pretty disappointing when you see something like this on a weekly basis.

I was accused of dropping marijuana on the floor. New tall employee who has been harassing me on multiple occasions laid his hands on me and assaulted me. I know about 10 people that agree with me and witnessed the whole thing. There is no reason to lay hands on a coustomer who spent $4000 and never had an issue with anyone. As soon as he touched me I got loud and told him not to touch me and pushed him back which is a natural response. Don’t want to take the legal route but this felt racially motivated and assault from an employee is something lifetime should not tolerate and neither will I. I hope the general manager will hear me out but when I call the front desk no one answers. Employees came after he assaulted me and only saw me get angry and loud while defending my self afterwards….which is normal when you are assaulted by a grown man who is an employee at a luxury gym. I have witness who saw him assault me first as well. All I did was defend my self so hopefully I can get in touch with the general manager and settle this and apologize as well but still haven’t heard back.

I'm not actually a member of this location, but I spent a few days in Bloomingdale for work. There was an issue with my account, but thanks to both Rami and Suzie it got cleared up in no time. They both went above and beyond to ensure my experience there was nothing short of perfect. Two thumbs up to the both of them, and I look forward to dropping in next time I'm in town.

As for the facility it's exactly what I've grown to expect from Lifetime. Clean, organized, friendly staff and patrons, all the expected amenities and then some! Truly a fine example of what sets Lifetime apart from the rest! Not just a gym, but a home away from home.

First thing I need to point out is when you Google Lifetime Fitness Bloomingdale, and scroll down to the "About" section, most of those photos are not of the Bloomingdale location. Very misleading. They look to be from one of the bigger and more updated Lifetime facilities, minus the photos of the pool, hot tubs, and parking lot. The photos look to be from a more updated, bigger and spacious facility.
Pros for me these past 8 months:
1. The classes. The instructors are energetic, motivating, and encouraging for people of all fitness levels so nobody feels uncomfortable. There is a nice variety of classes offered.
2. Staff has been friendly. I got a haircut back in September and the woman running the salon did my hair despite being short staffed. I liked my haircut and the price was reasonable
3. I like the steamroom in the women's locker room and the hot tubs are spacious.

I only gave two stars because I'm pretty disappointed in a few things.
1. Please fix your treadmills. Almost every time I go and get on one, I have to get off because it's either visibly broken at the bottom, extremely shaky, or the screen starts glitching when trying to press 'start'. Last time it took me 3 tries to get on a working treadmill. I pay you guys $150 a month for my membership alone, and that doesn't include my husband's and son's membership. So when this happens, I say to myself, here I am at this "fancy" gym and there's janky equipment everywhere.
2. Too much space and equipment for the Alpha and GTX classes (for elite memberships only) there should be more weight machines and more space for people to do their floor excercises on the mats. It's like an obstacle course walking around people working out on the mats on the same part of the floor thats also the main walkway to get from one end of the gym to another. People deserve a better space to do those kinds of excercises.
3. The "Dynamic Personal Training" program is misleading. I paid close to $800 for 8 sessions and I got 2 free. But there's nothing dynamic about it. Every session was me on 5 or 6 of the basic weight machines - not the cable machines, not any of the many other ways to excercise and build muscle. I'm actually doing much more on my own now and utilizing more of the equipment available and seeing results. I was probably too inexperienced to go into most the free weight area at the time but there are definitely some things over there I can do and wish I was shown to do. Each session should be a mixture. I had a trainer for one on one sessions somewhere else for less money a few years back and each 1 hour workout was full of all different kinds ways to work out using all sorts of things - and I was a beginner at the time.
4. I have to pay extra in order to access the outdoor pool in the summer? I'm paying almost $300 a month for a basic membership for my family of three. I'm even seeing reviews where people who joined around the time I did are paying much less. As much as I don't want to, I'm considering cancelling our memberships and I might join a pilates gym for a fraction of the price. I can't do your pilates - those are another $100 PER session on top of everything I'm paying now. That's laughable. Seriously, Lifetime?

Kids changing room has easy to access cleaning supplies, so my toddler grabbed a spray bottle with some cleaning supplies and was about to spray it on her face. I mentioned that to staff and they said that it’s not safe so they will do something about it. Month past, the cleaning supplies are still easy to access for kids.
Another issue , around 11pm they start spraying cleaning solution on people’s feet while they take shower :-/ is it ok? No!

I was robbed in this lifetime.
The owner Jason showed no remorse for the incident.
They allowed a nonmember to enter the gym.
He is a danger to my kids and my family in here.
Several people got robbed 10/04/23 .
I was robbed for over 17,000 dollars and a omega watch
Lifetime refused to pay this having to sue them.

I would be very careful in this gym as it happens a lot and they do not care.
The pretended to help just to have. A month pass and tell me they are not liable after they literally left a guy inside the building that is not a member.

I’ve been a Lifetime member for years but haven’t been to this location in a while. The only, really negative thing I have to say is about their bathrooms. Way too few for way too many people. Two urinals and two toilets for the entire locker room and when they’re available, they’re usually gross. Not sure why such a huge, prestige gym would have such poor bathroom facilities. Please add better restrooms. Other minor complaint - prices in the food area seem to increase and are outrageous for what you get. I’ll never spend a dollar on food/ drinks/ smoothies. Although I’m a member of Lifetime’s highest level membership and can afford it, as we all probably can, it’s the principle behind it. If the prices were reasonable, I’d get myself a smoothie every single day. I will say that the bathroom issues and food prices are the same across all locations - whether it’s at the Bloomingdale, Vernon Hills, Oakbrook, wherever. I’m writing about Bloomingdale today because I accidentally walked into a stall that wasn’t locked and found a man sitting on the toilet just cutting his toenails. He remained in there for about another ten minutes while men gathered to use the bathroom.

Other than that - nice gym. I love the pool and hot tubs. A+ in these two areas.

To Lifetime - I highly doubt you’ll make the food/ drink/ smoothie prices more reasonable, even though membership fees continue to go up, but please fix your bathroom situations.

Definitely not worth the membership costs. Almost all the equipment for strength training needs to be replaced and need to add more within the empty space. Literally has one strength training machine for each work out and they're old and musty. Even some of the cardio equipment is old and should be replaced since the membership dues are so expensive. Just saw the basketball court memo where it's closed for guests several hours of the day. You should probably discount your membership if you're not going to be open 24 hours and take away different parts of the gym to get additional revenue at the expense of your guests time. At this point I would not recommend anyone to join. Maybe 20 years ago at $60 a month this would have been a good deal since everything was new. Now it's double the price for less hours and equipment that's 10 to 20 years old.

The gym is expensive for what it offers. The hours are way too short. Closed at 10pm? C’mon now. Basketball court is reserved for some activity/ kids’ camps all the time. Rock climbing wall is hardly ever open. There are very few group classes and they are scheduled early in the day.

The no cellphone photography/videography in the men’s locker room is not enforced at all. Every time you go in there, guys are having conversations including FaceTime, dudes are taking mirror pics flexing, etc. There’s no respect for privacy and the employees do nothing about it.

If you leave something behind in the gym by accident, good luck getting it back. Lost and found doesn’t seem to work.

It’s basically a soccer mom, place to take the kids gym with poor hours. If it were open longer, had more classes that you could actually go to after work, you could actually use all the facilities (the push for pay-to-play pickleball is weird, too), had privacy in the locker rooms, and were more affordable, it could be a much better gym.

I highly wouldn’t recommend this gym to any serious weightlifting bodybuilders. People on the floor love to complain if they see you break a sweat. Basically a bunch of Karen’s on Vegan diets looking to complain if they see you working hard. Pattie in Management who doesn’t know how to communicate with her community. Susie Decoste who scams her clients in the hair salon. For the price you pay your better off going somewhere else where you can mind your business.

This gym is a joke. It has been overcrowded for months with not enough equipment to service all members who come during peak hours. They finally acquired new squat racks which alleviated the problem, but just posted signs saying that during peak hours they are reserved for members who pay for the extra alpha class.

I’ve been a lifetime member since 2016, and I started sharing an account with my husband several months ago. I lift primarily at the Bloomingdale location. The last time I was in, I was asked to bring an ID next time to confirm my address. I showed up to the Schaumburg location today with my ID, and was told that I had been removed from the account by the Bloomingdale GM. While the front desk employees at both Schaumburg and Bloomingdale were polite, the note on the account (written by the GM) prevented them from doing anything to assist us until I speak with the Bloomingdale GM. She’s not available until tomorrow late morning, meaning my gym trip was completely wasted today.

This entire experience is frustrating and makes me want to pursue membership at other gyms, where I won’t be kicked off accounts without reason.

What’s the point of having a basketball court if you’re going to close it off 5/7 days a week for hours? Not to mention the other accessible court was no renovated into a pickle ball court. Absolutely stupid and obviously a tactic to get certain people out of their gyms.

BEWARE: Do not join this gym! The staff are incredibly irresponsible for what they communicate in person vs over the phone.

Context: I had spoken to a staff member at Lifetime about setting up a one month membership. Knowing I was moving the next month, I explicitly noted this. I then signed up over the app for this one month per the staff members recommendation. I then canceled online knowing I was leaving soon and they said I could not cancel for 30 days. When all staff are not on the same page and one says misinformation this happens. I then spoke with the location, then to corporate, then back to the location. Through my conversations with the location, they noted how this is my fault and were not taking responsibility for their own staff. This is a management issue, do not sign up for this gym or listen to what their own staff are communicating.

Overall I like the gym. I enjoy taking the classes. Otherwise I don’t really have time to enjoy any other parts of the gym because I’m a mom of two young children and run on a tight schedule. One time my 2 year old was in the child care center (I love all the instructors / teachers there) but this one incident left an impression. My son was bit and no one told me about until I got home and bathed him to find a huge bite mark on his wrist. They are supposed to alert you to incidents like this when they happen. I had to call (no response), email 3 times (no response) and finally go back into the childcare to raise my concerns. I was hesitant on bringing him back because I don’t want him being hurt by other kids. I understand kids are kids. I’m just glad the bite didn’t break skin. And just would appreciate being told if there is an incident instead of finding out by inspecting his body.

Used to be an amazing gym. Though they changed 1 of the basketball courts into a Pickle Ball court… terrible decision. Hardly anyone plays compared to when it was a basketball court.

Been annoyed with the “upgrades” over the past few years… I would argue that this gym was a BETTER gym 10 years ago than it is now. We may cancel 🤷‍♂️

Best gym in the area.
I went using my friends guest pass.

I like the pools, but if they have the aquatic sound bath, that would be awesome!
I will definitely become a member if they have that Service.
I mean nowadays you can do most of the exercises at home. If they can add some value to their pools, it's a way to attract health aware customers.

Great if shower room can be cleaned more frequently.

The staff at LT are great, the issue is broken equipment and now we have to pay to play Pickle Ball. I feel that those who have been longtime club members should be grandfathered in, if you want a pickle ball master to watch and coach you then that should be an extra cost. We are getting less and paying more, less group fitness classes, forced to pay for pickleball and is it just a rumor that the same will be done with the basketball courts. Also, they said they were a 24 hour club and cut back on the hours to save money? Are non members going to have access to the pickleball and basketball courts as a revenue stream?

Never leave your child who is under 1 years old to there daycare. For the First time I ended up staying and talked with the daycare lady and telling her how I’m pregnant and all too so this is a great help even if it’s for 20 mins because they always call me in 20 minutes.
I was thinking maybe she is growing up and she knows people now. But for the first time I saw how kids are over there. Literally hit my the lid of the blocks straight to my daughters head. Funny thing I understand the girl is 2 years old who hit her but the lady telling me that she didn’t even see it hither and then trying to convince me that I thought it went on the side . no honey it was straight at her and her forehead was red. She have her 5 years old son there too who came and was very hands on started tapping my head. The lady should have handle the situation better instead of convincing me that oh it nothing. When my daughter is crying and her forehead is red. Again I never stay there always have left after dropping her off. But today I noted how they ladies are like can you take her and she was feeling it. When anyone leaves their child to any daycare they want their child to be taken care off. There was no one there just that 2 years old girl was there. This should be a rule how can you have 11 months with 2 years and 5 years old.
I wasn’t feeling safe after how that 2 years old girl throwing toying at my daughter and then she throw it at me too.
Infants should be handle with care and not just be ok with other kids hitting them.
What happened today made me cancel my daycare for her. I’m glad I stayed and saw what really happens there.

This club is not cool. Whatever locker rooms issues they are having, far as remodeling. I just finished my workout an wanted to use the family locker room to shower so I can go to work because then mens shower is not working. They refuse to let me in, what's the point of me being a loyal member. I'm not gonna say the whole staff but they pick an choose who they want to be nice with. So now I have to go to a hotel to get a room just so I can take a shower. This is ridiculous and I'm very upset I have to pay for a membership and can't use a available shower. But if I was another another race or someone else, they would have let me use the shower in the family room.

It’s a good gym but why are you guys still charging $80 and *not* open 24/7?
You guys don’t even offer the 2 big rooms anymore and close it off just so you don’t have to setup which seems lazy coming from a high reputable gym.

*edit: seen they don’t really care how many reviews they get on the #1 complaint of not being open 24/7…especially considering its 2022 and nothing has been done. Xsport is OPEN 24/7 and cheaper so will be changing gyms. Lifetime really has nothing different to offer so it’s just like la fitness at this point.

I froze my membership during the winter because I wasnt going as much for a few reasons. One huge reason was that this club still hasnt gone back to 24 hour operations. We are now in May 2022 and I just heard from a friend who goes to this club that apparently there is no plan to return to 24 hour operation. What am I paying so much for if one of the most appealing features that made me sign up is not there anymore. I have expressed my concerns on this before and the sales staff really just tries to divert your attention and frustration. Im on the fence if I even want to unfreeze my membership at this point and just cancel instead. This place is a joke.

We checked the email and the guest pass to make sure they didn’t need any verification of identification (as he added all my information in when registering me), and it said the only thing we would need to do when we arrived was sign a waiver. When we got there, we were told I wouldn’t be able to work out until I provided identification.
