Dear Gym Management Team,

I hope you are doing well. I am writing to express a concern regarding the front desk service at your location.

My friends and I have been loyal members of this club for the past seven months. During this time, our IDs were never requested upon entry. Recently, however, the front desk began checking IDs every time we arrive. While we fully understand and respect your policies, the issue seems to stem from inconsistent enforcement on the staff side — not from any misconduct on our part.

Unfortunately, during our last visit, we encountered a very negative and unprofessional attitude from the lady working at the front desk. She was unnecessarily rude, not only toward us, but also toward other members who visit the gym regularly. As the first point of contact, the front desk staff represent the club’s image, and professionalism is crucial in maintaining a welcoming environment.

We genuinely enjoy the gym, the facilities, and the rest of the staff. However, we strongly feel that her behavior negatively impacts the member experience. If this situation continues without improvement, we will be forced to reconsider our membership at this location. We are part of a group of more than 50 members who value respectful and professional service.

We kindly request that management takes appropriate action and considers placing her in a different role where she does not interact directly with members.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. We look forward to your support in ensuring a positive atmosphere at the club.

Nice gym. Majority of the employees are friendly however some tough guy personal trainers will try to bully you off of machines you are using. I am happy to allow you or anyone else to work in but don’t act like you own the place.

Poorly managed gym where the members do not follow the rules because the management doesn't care and doesn't enforce them.

Unless you are looking for an "Animal House" experience I do not recommend you join this club.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Zoe Welsh at Life Time Fitness in Warrenville for both one-on-one training sessions and group classes, and she has been absolutely incredible. From the start, Zoe has been accommodating with my changing schedule and personal health needs, always making me feel supported and understood.

As someone with very little experience in fitness, I was nervous coming in, but Zoe has made the process approachable and motivating. She takes the time to explain the importance behind each exercise, adjusts sessions to my ability level, and modifies workouts based on my feedback so I always feel comfortable while still being challenged.

What stands out most is her genuine care—she’s empathetic, encouraging, and truly invested in helping me succeed. Whether it’s easing me into new routines or cheering me on in group settings, Zoe goes above and beyond. I can’t recommend her enough to anyone looking for a trainer who is both knowledgeable and compassionate.

Life Time at Warrenville has been a supportive, friendly environment to meet my fitness goals. The staff is consistently friendly and the coaches and trainers are exceptionally skilled. I look forward to going to classes and personal training. I have gotten stronger at 74 than I was at any other time in my life. I have met so many people who are having the same experience. There is a good community here of people in their 60’s and 70’s that are healthy and thriving. I am glad I am one of them! Shout out to ZoeW and Steve L and Debbie T who have been such a big support to me!

Poorly maintained , and way overpriced . Two most recent visits the pool has been very dirty or falling apart: 1. I was at the outdoor pool last week and rested my hand on the ledge and it literally fell off in my hand. 2. A week before that in the indoor pool, I saw about 30 bandages, and at least 10 pieces of broken glass on the deck.
I informed staff. I shudder to think about the actual cleanliness of the pool itself.

Waste of a beautiful rock wall.

They don't open it until 5pm on weekdays. They say "there's not enough demand," but perhaps people like me see the hours FIRST.

(How would they know what demand is if most climbers are just going to see that it's closed, and go somewhere else)

Climbing is very popular now, and Life Time is likely giving a lot of business to climbing gyms.

13 years was there I left 2 years , went to the city to live closer to my job in the gym there was equipment that was all broken to pieces wire sticking out. If you got on the treadmill it was like it’s gonna fall apart while you were running on it. Spin cycle bike waddling. It was so unsafe there it was crazy.

Unfortunately, the front desk experience at this location is consistently unpleasant. The staff at the entrance are often rude, cold, and look like they absolutely hate being there. It feels like they were forced to work for free and treat members as if it’s our fault they’re unhappy. I’m not expecting royal treatment just a simple, polite “hello” would be enough. Instead, we’re met with negative energy and attitude that clearly reflects their dissatisfaction with the job.

Honestly, it might be time for LifeTime to consider modern solutions like facial recognition, fingerprint scan, or phone-based check-in like Amazon stores use just to avoid dealing with these unhappy front desk staff. Technology would be far more pleasant to interact with than people who clearly don’t want to be there.

I was a member for over two years. The club is overcrowded. The machines I like to use did not work properly for months. They took away the spray cleaner used for wiping down mats to save money. The bathrooms are always dirty. On several occasions young children were allowed to play on fitness equipment. I complained to the corporate office and the Warrenville manager with no results. This club is not worth the cost.

At one point before the pickle ball courts this was a great place. Now it’s over ran w kids, prices nearing $200 per person starting April 25’. I’ve been a member when it was open 24/7 at $60/month. I’ve gone to lifetime for 10+ years, I was in town for the holiday, and went to Lifetime as I always do. Today the front desk denied entry, but it really didn’t make sense as to why. She mentioned obscure policies, including a “waitlist” for entry for one day, although the club was not busy at all (the parking lot was nearly empty). I was more than happy to pay whatever I needed to for a day pass, as I’ve done in the past. I expressed my confusion why I was being turned down. I can understand if it’s for regular membership but nothing made sense for that given day. I’d be fine, if it was explained clearly to me with good customer service and empathy, but I am dissatisfied because instead, she was condescending, cold, and unbelievably rude about it! Absolutely unbelievable.

**Disappointing Experience - Avoid This Facility**

I’m extremely disappointed with the pickleball program here, especially after the new coordinator took over. It is not a first time when she removed all paying players to make room for a small class of just 4 people, even though there was plenty of space to accommodate everyone who wanted to play. This coordinator has no management or customer service skills.

Additionally, the facility itself is very dirty and seems poorly maintained. The focus here appears to be on sales rather than customer satisfaction or cleanliness, which should be top priorities.

Also lifetime used to be 24/7 facility, not anymore, even thou the dues are increasing drastically!

Save your
money and nerves, avoid this place if you're looking for a quality experience, there are many places for picklebal around in the area!

I love this place, had to give it a 1 star due to the rudeness of the front desk staff who are often talking and when you want to check in they get mad if you forget your card. Act like their fingers will fall off if they help you check in. The staff in the front desk should make you feel welcomed I stead are talking to one another and in their phones. I have to ignore this behavior I already know when I come in I just have my head phones on so the rude behavior can seem less.

2024 update: Taking a off star because this place has gotten crazy expensive and lacks some training spaces.

Good workout floor that was just renovated in summer 2023. Classes of all kinds. Indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Café and salon as well. Also, have childcare on-site. Only drawbacks are the crowds during busy seasons and the steep prices.

Original Review: Permanently closed down the large part of the climbing gym with no just cause. Very frustrating, and poor decision from management. If you have children LifeTime might be a good fit, otherwise I would not recommend this gym.

EDIT: As of Sept 18, 2024, half of the lower pit will be reopened according to an employee. I am glad to see they are receptive to demand.

This gym has fantastic staff and an overall friendly environment. Solving the issue of the net loss of the climbing wall could be as simple as some form of advertising. In the last 10 years there has not been so much as a single photo of the fantastic wall posted to the Life Time website, and most people I have met have said they have been members but did not know it even existed. I do not believe there is an issue with interest in the wall, but an issue with making it publicly known. There are not many climbing walls in the surrounding suburb, and Life Time could benefit greatly from proper advertisement on the wall and potentially separate day passes for its use.

Hopefully the entire pit is reopened in the near future.

I drove an hour to this Lifetime gym, only to be turned away because they were at capacity. As a family member of a member since 2002, this experience was extremely disappointing and inconvenient.

They also have recently created a waitlist to join this location. But, they actually ask you personal information and then schedule a meeting with you to decide if you fit in. It gives me a sense that they’re being discriminatory here.

I used to belong to the nearby LA Fitness until it closed, was attempting to perhaps join this place, but after talking to some clueless dude just now.. not sure. He said they have "a wait list," but then it turns out they really don't have a wait to join - what he meant was they don't take walk-ins without an appointment, which must be done online.

So why not just say that and avoid confusion? Some kind of marketing nonsense to make it seem like they're in demand? Or more likely they just want to collect your data so they can pound you with emails until you join or tell them to stop sending emails? Not a good start...

I've been going here for a year. When I first started, they had a lot of classes for people trying to get into shape (beginner, etc) before/after work. Now they have NONE. They are clearly sending a message that you already need to be in shape to be welcomed there. I'm seriously considering ending my membership once summer is over. I think this will only be my pool membership in the summertime from now on. I am barely using my membership because I can't do anything there!!! I scheduled a 3:00 PM “tour” on the website. Arrived at 2:45 PM and checked in. Not great, but fine I’m early. At 3:09 PM went to the front desk to ask about our tour. I was told the two people checking people in were very busy and when they had time they’d get to it. I told them about my appointment and asked if I could just walk around. The answer was no. Told the other guy we were leaving and he said we could walk ourselves around. Too little too late.

A waste of time to schedule an appointment and sit around for 25 minutes and no one offer any help.

I dislocated my shoulder during an Alpha Class at the Warrenville location and when I walked up to the trainer (Eric) to let him know something was wrong he put his hands up, stepped back and said “I’m not touching that”. His instinct was not to go and get help as I had to go to the ER.
I had to ask him to go and get someone to help me.
I spoke to his manager days later to let her know how disappointed I was in his response and how this was handled. I also copied the general manager (who I have yet to get a response from) in an email and never got a reply.
Due to how this emergency was handled so pooly, I will never return to this gym again.

I have been going to Lifetime for over 10 years. I’ve tried Romeoville, Burr Ridge. Schaumburg and even Lake Zurich. I love Warrenville. 1 Bryan at the front desk on Saturdays and Sundays is one of the most sharp dressed articulate and knowledgeable people I know. Our morning chats really help me start my day. He is just a very down to earth person everyone should take the opportunity to get to know. The club itself is still the best for me. I love the location. It is close to 88 and my home. It is very well kept. The staff like Abby most definitely really keeps this club sparkling and great. I wish it would open earlier if not 24 hours any more. It is definitely not a cheap club but still the best I have found. They try to keep the equipment updated but it is not the same as years past. The other members are very friendly and are very courteous when it comes to the equipment when I go in. I wish that the pool was not an extra expense for guests. I would like to see more holiday decorations. I did not even see a toys for tots box at Christmas. I tend to gravitate towards charitable organizations.

Having moved from Kansas City about a year ago, I joined Lifetime in Warrenville, seeking a gym experience similar to what I cherished back home. This facility impresses with its size and extensive range of equipment, instrumental in my fitness journey. While the gym's cleanliness and staff friendliness don't entirely match my previous experience, my overall workout sessions remain enjoyable and productive.

An important note for potential members: the gym gets quite busy in the evenings, especially between 4:30 PM and 7 PM. However, I prefer working out later, around 8:30 to 10 PM, when it's less crowded and more relaxed. For those concerned about safety, the gym maintains a secure atmosphere, and I always feel safe during late-night workouts. The parking lot is expansive and well-lit, adding to the sense of security.

The locker room is another highlight - it's spacious and well-kept, ensuring easy access to lockers at any time. While I haven't ventured into the gym's class offerings, they seem popular and diverse.

In terms of cost, my membership fee increased post-relocation, but considering the facilities and offerings, I find it justifiable.

Lifetime in Warrenville stands out as a reliable, well-equipped gym, ideal for recreational lifting and cardio enthusiasts. Its late-night safety, ample parking, and spacious locker rooms make it a great choice in the area, especially for those who prefer off-peak hours. Despite some differences from my old gym, it has become an integral part of my fitness routine in Warrenville.

Warrenville Lifetime is by far the worst of them all. I was a Platinum member; traveling for work I’ve been to every Lifetime in Chicagoland suburbs. Over 7 lifetime locations!!
This gym had the worst equipment, worst pool area, and worst service. The guest policy company wide is garbage for $110+ monthly. One of the trainers (younger kid) stopped me during my workout to ask if I need personal training. (I’m “healthier” and more fit than this guy…) I tell him I’m good plus I’m a Marine vet so I’ve got a hundred workouts in my head. He replied, “you could still learn something from me”. While true, it was a terrible way to engage the gym members who already overpay for this place. Plus being young and fit, I wasn’t your target audience. All they care about is money. You’d think a “luxury” gym membership would include 1 free smoothie or shake per month. I canceled and will never go back.

Back at Lifetime Warrenville with Thoughts

Returning to Lifetime Warrenville after a stint moved in Oakbrook, I've noticed some changes and areas for improvement. While the facility continues to impress with its range of equipment and welcoming atmosphere, the departure of Pam, a key fitness manager, to Arizona marks a significant shift in the lifetime warrenville dynamic.

A particular area for enhancement is the pilates class schedule. Currently, the offerings are limited and lack later hours, which constrains options for those with busy schedules. Expanding these classes would greatly benefit members like myself, who value pilates for its health and wellness impact.

Despite these points, my overall experience remains positive, and I look forward to seeing how Lifetime Warrenville evolves to meet its members' needs.

Surrender yoga with Gizel. She started loudly fast-talking into the microphone before the class actually started, then turned down the light and kept talking nonstop. Her philosophy, movie quotes, intermixed with movement instructions. Talked all through each move, changing our poses briskly. Her loud fast voice into the microphone nonstop. Not the Lifetime Surrender I love and was so craving today. Today the only surrender I could have accomplished is to surrender my every braincell to the sound of the instructor's loud microphone voice.

On a separate note, if you choose to call yourself a Signature club and charge everyone $180 per month and a family of 4 $340, with senior citizen monthly price $160,have the decency to change the water filters, provide deep discounts in the cafe and have thorough training of your staff in proper customer service.

I tried to sign up as a new member tonight at 9:00. The staff member that greeted me was rude. She immediately mentioned that they close in 1 hour and asked if i was sure i wanted to workout. She made me feel like i was a nuisance to her. I felt so "unwelcomed" that i left. I would NOT recommend this location to anyone. I just wanted to workout & left feeling unwanted. It was a terrible experience & i will NEVER return to this location. Do NOT recommend.

I’m new to yoga and I’ve been taking classes at LifeTime for a little over a month now. Gizel is incredible! I always leave her classes feeling positive, restored and challenged. Taking a class with her makes me feel like I can take on the day. Just left and already looking into booking my next one.

Life Time is an amazing gym. Prices are steep but it’s worth it. The gym has a wide range of options. These include a great weight room, pools, basketball courts, pickleball courts, rock climbing and more. Along with many amenities such as saunas, whirlpools, steam, rooms, towel, service, food and more. Another amazing feature is being able to put your account on dormant. Perfect for college students. This way you don’t have to pay cancellation fees.

My family has been members for over 7 years. They are constantly raising their rates and with the last rate increase they actually wrote how much less we were paying than new members as if somehow that justifies paying more. The gym is overpriced, overcrowded, and doesn’t appreciate their members, just how much money they are paying. If you like being overcharged and waiting in line for parking spaces, classes, and machines then this place is perfect 😉.

Rating: 4/5

I've been to this gym for over a year at this point now and made some pretty good progress here. It's overall been a pleasant experience and the atmosphere is positive.

Facilities and Equipment:

I'm recreational lifter so the main location is free weights / machine weight. In terms of equipment, if you are focused on the big 4 (OHP,Bench,Squat,Deadlift). You will be happy with what the gym offers. They have 4 barbell flat benches, 16 Power racks with platforms or 6 Power racks with platforms if a class is in session. The dumbbells do go 120+ if you need to lift extremely heavy and plenty of adjustable benches. They have tons machines to cover variation's of your popular exercise.

In terms of facilities of which I use, this would include a sauna, indoor/outdoor pool, and rock climbing wall. The typical Lifetime amenities.

Cleanliness and Hygiene:

It's generally on the cleaner side compare to other gyms. I don't have much to comment here as I'm usually in the 4AM - 7AM crew so I'm usually there when it's the cleanest.

Staff:

I don't have much to say since my interaction is pretty minimal. (Besides one gentlemen who remembers me and will automatically check me in. You rock dude!) I've never had bad experience with the staff but never requested any services.

Overall atmosphere and environment:

I've never had a bad experience at this lifetime and no one has ever given me problems. People are generally very nice and easy to talk to. I don't usually see any "influencers" with cameras causing grief. I'm in the early morning crowd so unsure if this problem exist during peak times.

Speaking of peak time, there is one problem and will probably always be a problem. This place can get very crowded if you do go during the peak times 4PM-8PM and is sometimes busy even on weird times. You might need to wait on occasions to get your set in on equipment.

Price:

Can't talk about the price since I pay for this location through a program offer by Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Recommendation:

Overall, I do recommend this place from the aspect of an early morning recreational lifting

Enjoyed my time at this gym but as usual they attempt to suck every last extra money out of you. When I cancelled my membership because I am moving out of country I was told that there is a 30 day notice cancel, meaning I will pay for an entire month that I will no longer be in the US. Also a $10 service fee to have my additional member switched to primary. They know no one will remember the 30 day notice from when they signed up multiple years ago. Just petty.

Mathew is the nicest welcome host I’ve ever encountered. He goes above and beyond his job to not only satisfy me but countless others. I always see him talking with other customers and creating a personable meaningful experience. I am thrilled to come in and see Mathew as well as the rest of the staff at this establishment. Everybody is so well mannered but Mathew goes above and beyond the regular job to provide truly amazing service.

The female supervisor in the aquatics department is quite terrible. She has a really bad attitude towards parents, and it's really difficult to coordinate with her regarding the kids' class timings. My child has been taking swimming lessons here for more than a year, we love the coaches and I really don't want to cancel the lessons, but her lack of assistance and unenthusiastic attitude are truly unbearable!

Personal Trainer Review & Club Review!

Retired collegiate athlete here that struggled tremendously with finding motivation to workout after finishing my volleyball career. I came in for my free consult with personal trainer, Eric, prior to a 60-Day club training challenge and immediately felt like he wanted to help me to be better, not just in the gym but with my own lifestyle. I decided to sign-up with him for personal training and am so glad I did! I shifted from despising the gym to being excited and motivated again to work out, but this time for the betterment of my life, not my sport. Eric helped me to achieve numerous fitness goals, took extra time to discuss dietary needs based on my daily movement, and shaped my monthly training programs around my specific needs. His attention to detail, motivation to help his clients, and ability to provide excellent experiences every time I trained with him (6 months), along with his coaching style and goal-oriented mindset propelled me to enjoy fitness again, but with a new perspective. If you are interested in a personal trainer, who will challenge you, encourage you, and mentor you beyond just the fitness world, I highly recommend Eric as your person. Way to go Life Time!

I have loved my experience with Life Time, it’s amenities, warm welcomes at check-in, exceptionally kind and vivacious staff in the spa, yummy food and great service in the cafe, clean locker rooms and large pool area, and finally the fitness gym that has any and all fitness equipment you would ever need. Thank you Life Time!

And quite frankly i habe not been to this location since everyone else quit. Now i go romeoville or oakbrook lifespa

This gym is becoming a very inconvenient investment. It's pretty up there in price which isn't the problem. The problem is they keep certain equipment from members. Member here pay a very big price for accommodations that you won't find at other gyms but not providing bands and jump ropes to member when they ask for them is ridiculous. They keep them at the desk. I just asked an employee for one and he said he couldn't let me use it. All they need is a simple sign in/out sheet to fix the problem of members stealing them. Also, compared to the Schaumburg location this one is not worth it. If you can't go to the other location do not bother to invest any of your hard earned money here. I'll be taking my money elsewhere. The other locations have newer equipment and they don't keep equipment from members. They also used to be 24 hours. Now they aren't. But I still get charged the same

I used to be a member there, but the membership price went waaay up. It's ridiculous. I'm not sure how anyone will sign up for this gym when the other gyms around charge 4 to 6 time less. Honestly I don't see anything special that this gym offers compared to the others. Even the swimming pool is most of the time closed for open swim because of swim classes so can't be used. CEO has to wake up or be fired before Life Time Fitness goes bankrupt.

I have been coming to Lifetime for ten years now. There is no substitute. If you workout in the morning and need to shower, dress, and go straight to work, it's perfect. It's also perfect for a day off to spend a few hours working out, shooting some baskets, hitting the hot tub or sauna, hitting the cafe, hanging out, then showering and getting on with the day.

TOO MANY FEE INCREASES
Regarding the rate increase, that appears to be two times in less than 1 year period. It is completely unreasonable and inconsiderate to have a fee increase of that magnitude. To go from $79 to $89 to $94 in less than a year, over 20% increase. Obviously, the members of this club are being punished for mismanagement of the company since the last quarter loss was huge. I have been a member since 2003 and never seen such an increase in my years, it appears loyalty to the members does not exist.
Plus the place is dirty and unkept

Stopped by the other day with my husband and 2 guests. I said that either I can put my 2 guests under me, or 1 can be with me and the other could be my husband, whatever the best way to handle this is. She looks at us and asks if my husband is a membership as well. I said yes, he's been on the account.

Secondly, when my guests gave their IDs and were checking in, she tells me about the policy of guests not being able to come again within 60 days, and that the last visit for these guests were in August. I said, "Yes, August of last year" and she looked at me dumbfounded as if I was wrong, and checked her own dates again on the system.

Honestly, this could've been handled better, and I didn't need all these snide remarks.

Have been a member for two years, the management is very poor at this facility. Starting from general manager and all the way to the front desk very poor management. Kiddie area was used constantly by my children, this year we didn’t attend the camp but I have witnessed the rude and filthy mouths of some staff taking to kids by the pool. My 8 year old was called names at the kiddie area by other kids and staff disregard it. We have cancelled the membership simple because of the rude and disrespectful staff at the kids facility. It’s a great facility it just requires new management and new staff.
