Main Event is really such an amazing gym. It produces quality fighters and actual champions. But not just that, put the atmosphere at the gym is great. The coach, Adrian, is definitely the best coach in the Chicagoland area. Not just to teach you how yo fight put as a person in general. All the people at the gym are super nice and we all laugh and joke around but when it’s time to train, we train really hard and really well. If you’re looking at a place you learn how to really box or even just to get a good workout and meet new people, then I definitely recommend Main Event at number 1.

Andrian Mochard the owner and trainer knows the art of boxing. I recommend boxing classes or cross training at his fitness center. He is great for beginners, experienced, and kids that want to learn how to box. He has trained my 11 yr old child to box.

I've belonged to Main Event on-and-off over the past 10 years since it was called "Evanston Boxing Club" and was located on the N. Side of Downtown Evanston. The former head coach Dave was a solid trainer, and the current head coach Andrian is no different. tl;dr: it's a great place to train if you care about a good boxing/kickboxing workout with good people.

The gym itself is well-stocked with basic equipment, respectably sized to handle classes of up to 20 people at a time, plenty of heavy bags, and boxing gear available to borrow (jump ropes, gloves, handwraps, focus mitts, although you should ideally get your own at some point if you join). It is extremely bare-bones and low on amenities beyond equipment - there is no shower, no water fountain (water bottles available for purchase), and there's a single half-bath. It is very much geared towards people who want to show up, get in a boxing workout, and leave soon after.

The gym has evening classes five days a week (5:30PM, then 6:30PM) plus morning classes on Tues/Thurs/Sat/Sun. There's Muay Thai/Kickboxing on M/W evenings (soon also Fridays again) Andrian is also broadly available for private lessons at reasonable rates (one-on-one and small-group), and I've had little issue arranging to train on my own the few times I've wanted to go into the gym without class going on. There's also a very active kids boxing program five days a week at 4:30 (I don't know much about this, but it looks like Andrian has 1-2 parents helping corral the 15 kids or so - it's a VERY popular program).

A typical boxing class has a 5-10 minute warmup, alternating rounds of heavy-bag work + conditioning, 2-3 rounds of partner drills (focus mitts or defense drills), more bag work, more conditioning, then cool-down stretches. Andrian is very welcoming of beginners and will spend time working with them during class to help them get the hang of things, and the people in the gym are all very friendly and glad to help as well. Most members are casual athletes there to workout, but there's a small cohort of more serious members who are amateur boxers.

Cost is well under what most other gyms with combat sports would charge. The gym is also decent with COVID protocols (asking people to wear masks, everyone cleans the space after class, open doors), but it's still an indoor workout space with high-intensity activity, so you should still get your COVID vaccine if you haven't already.

Andrian the head trainer/owner will help you achieve what you want whether it’s the basics getting you ready for a fight or somewhere in between you will feel comfortable. The group classes are challenging and get you in great shape. I highly recommend joining. This isn’t one of those cookie cutter corporate boxing gyms This is an asset to the community. And a big bonus they have kid classes that are amazing.

This is THE boxing gym you want to join! Everyone is welcome at Andrian's gym. Older, younger, women, men, it doesn't matter, all are welcome and the classes are top-notch training. Adrian, the owner, is an awesome coach! He also happens to be a really nice guy. Very welcoming, great classes, great price. ... not to mention a professional Ju-Jitsu gym right next door that can be part of the package. HIGHLY recommended for a great workout and to make some new friends!

I have always been interested in combat sports and training like a boxer, but never knew where to go or how to start, so I am grateful that I found Main Event Boxing and Fitness. It has truly been life-changing. If you need the glitz & glamour & high rates of a boutique-style 'fitness' gym, then ME may not be the place for you.

If you are interested in getting in the best condition of your life, all while learning a skill, being around a great, supportive community of people, & getting 1st rate coaching and encouragement, then you need to do yourself a favor and stop by Main Event or call Coach Adrian.

One of the best gyms for Muay Thai, boxing, and crossfit in Evanston! In fact, Andrian, the owner, used to be a boxing coach for Northwestern. Andrian aslo charges a very reasonable rate and lets you train in cross disciplines. Highly recommend if you’re looking for an awesome workout!

Main Event is a great place to get fit and learn how to box. It is unpretentious, friendly and focused on getting you in the best shape possible.
It’s not a place for glamour shots or posing.
Andrian is a great coach and trainer. His class is good for both beginners and experienced boxers. My favorite aspect of the place is that it’s kind of hidden, tucked away behind a shopping center inside an old warehouse. If decide to go, be open minded and ready to work hard.
