After years of trying on my own I finally got help from Shawn who is highly knowledgeable regardless of what your goals are! I had a back injury and wanted to get back into shape safely and he was able to fix my diet and workout routine to get me to my goals and beyond without injury. very grateful for his help highly recommend you check him out for any type of goal you have.

This training program with Shawn is hands down, the best physical training I’ve ever done. He’s great at adhering your training to what you have available and makes it diverse enough where you will be targeting muscles you’ve probably never trained before. It was easy enough to follow even with my hectic work schedule and family life and the time I dedicate to training definitely takes advantage and leaves me feeling accomplished. He offers great nutritional advice that also plays a major key in meeting your goals, whether it’s weightloss or being more lean. I’ve learned so much from him in very little time.

Shawn is the man!
As a trainer, he’s very intelligent, methodical, researched and driven. He’s who you want in your corner. I especially love that he adapts your training to meet your goals. I’m more into running than strength and he provided instruction on how train. He made sure I was hitting my goals, tracking my macros, and staying on track.
As a person, he’s the perfect balance between straight forward and forgiving. This is exactly what you want in a coach and someone with such influence over your well being.

I took part in a two week workout challenge Shawn held. His approach to training doesn't just focus on the workout but also stretching, recovery, stress relief tactics and diet. I have never had a trainer work on all those things with you before and found it very beneficial so that you got the best workout possible. It mitigates your risk of injury by making sure there are recovery days and a good warmup before your workout. If you are looking for someone who won't just help you get in shape but also teach you stress management strategies and proper recovery I would highly recommend Shawn. He will create a workout plan that is tailored to your needs.

I worked with Shawn to get back into the workout routine postpartum and really enjoyed it! It kept me accountable every day, offered good nutritional snacks and meals, but my favorite was the personal suggested workouts to focus on certain muscles, problem areas, and even pelvic floor exercises for a recovering mom. I also love that there are alternative workouts to fit whatever workout equipment you have in house so you can be successful every day even with little time and equipment from home! Would recommend!

I recently worked with Shawn to jump start my fitness and to get back into strength training. I'm currently a SAHM and he was able to develop a personalized training and nutrition plan that fit my lifestyle without buying a ton of new equipment. The biggest benefit was definitely the accountability. I don’t even know where to begin, because how do you put into words what it means when someone helps you find yourself again?
Before I met Shawn, I was lost in a cycle of self-doubt and insecurity. I hated the way I looked, but more than that — I hated the way I felt. I didn’t recognize the person in the mirror, and I had no idea how to break out of the shell I had built around myself.

Having known Shawn for several years now, I'm not at all surprised by this project and startup Metis Total Fitness. The depth of his knowledge and expertise coupled with his experience from the military and martial arts training are qualities most trainers at a local gym would aspire to embody. I went through the training at the outset of the venture and can safely say I emerged not only stronger in the areas I was targeting, but also more knowledgeable and in tune with my overall health, both inside and outside the gym. After taking a couple of years off from lifting, I wanted a program that would help me build strength again without getting hurt. Shawn’s strength program through Metis has been exactly that, his workouts are tough and effective but structured in a way that allowed me to ease back into training safely. I especially love the app, which lists exercises in order of importance. This makes it easy to shorten a workout when I’m pressed for time, whether I’m on vacation, studying for exams, or just dealing with a busy schedule. That flexibility has been key to helping me stay consistent!
Shawn has also been incredibly responsive and has answered every question I’ve had while using the program. I really feel like this program was built with real life in mind, and I’ve seen great results because of it!

I worked with Shawn through a strength program while training for a marathon, and it was the perfect complement to my running routine. The explanations behind each workout made it easy to understand and follow and he adjusted the weekly intensity of the workouts to align with the taper in my run training, which made it easy to balance both.
My primary goal was to stay injury-free and build the strength needed for the later miles of the race, and Shawn’s plan delivered on both counts. Not only did I avoid injuries, but I also set a new marathon PR. Just four weeks later, I ran another marathon and shaved off another 11 minutes. I credit a big part of staying injury-free and achieving those results to the strength training I did with Shawn.
The mental coaching that came with the workouts was another bonus—it gave me tools to stay focused and push through the tough moments during long runs and on race day.
