I just moved into town and my wife and I liked Midtown. It was way too overcrowded on Saturday morning when we visited though. Membership sales felt like we were being sold by a used car salesman also. Joined Sky Fitness in Buffalo Grove instead. It was 1/3 of the price, cleaner, walking track, bigger sauna, bigger indoor pool and more weight equipment.

Just awful … they hired me there as a tennis coach and I was getting tons of hours in this past summer and early fall. I was following dress codes and club standards. Then the club fired me for absolutely no reason and even worse, didn’t tell me I was getting fired … nor did the club mention that I was now paying full price for membership. Yes the services are decent, however the staff suck at communicating anything that’s coming up in the future.

I am posting this review because I have been rubbed the wrong way by members of the staff, specifically Dave in Membership sales. He is incredibly condescending and downright rude. I have emailed with him and he insulted me when I said membership had gotten too pricey. (he said "well you can just cut down on eating out one meal a month"). really, is that all????!!! It is VERY pricey to be a member at this club which is fine but their prices per month have more than DOUBLED in the last few years. He just called me this morning and I said I couldn't speak because I was at work and his reply was "did you want to rejoin or not?" and I said "not at this time" and HE HUNG UP. WHO is this person you hired to sell people on your club?? Unreal. I have a neighbor that was also considering joining. He was rude to her as well when she inquired about membership and she now refuses to join. Do better Midtown. Don't be snobby. It's not the vibe.

The place stands out. It has a gym, swimming pool, palettes, a huge tennis court, and a spa. It is completely equipped for a workout. Huge dressing room and clean bathroom.
High-end place and quiet, has a computer area, and a coffee shop.

Exception and personalized facility. It has so many different workout platforms and spaces that there is rarely a time where you do not have access to the equipment you need to work out. The extras with the indoor or outdoor pool and option of steam or sauna and classes are above expectation and make for a great place to work out

We joined as a family almost a year ago and our experience has been great. The facility is always clean, there are always machines available, and the outdoor pool is fantastic. I love that they keep it open 9 months out of the year so I can swim laps. The locker rooms are impressive, and the spa is great too (get a massage!). The cafe is probably my favorite amenity though - it has a full menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner complete with alcohol, and smoothies. The food is really good, much better than you would expect from a gym. We often eat here both with and without our kids. It's also a great place to work for a few hours as it has tons of tables and comfortable seating areas. Plus they bus your table for you!

Docked a star for a few reasons:
- The indoor pool hosts my kids' swim lessons and the pool is so cold that my kids refuse to go in it. When they do get in, they cry and their teeth are chattering. Please warm it up a bit!
- The organization and communication around swim lessons is not great, and it shows. The classes are poorly attended (my kids were often the only one, and they want to play with other kids, so they are sad when they are alone), and there are often "no class" days due to "holidays" or "school breaks" but these are not proactively communicated, so we have shown up several times only to be greeted by an empty pool with no staff in sight. These "no class" days are made even more confusing by the fact that the gym holds other classes for kids (such as tennis) on the same days that there is no swim class.
- They have wonderful tennis facilities (indoor and outdoor) but you have to pay an arm and a leg to use them ON TOP of an already expensive gym membership. You can't even use an indoor tennis court without paying! On top of the fact that you have to pay, there is no bulk discount or package offering for their cardio classes - just pay as you go (and $28 for an hour is steep). Just not very member-friendly.

Workers aren’t allowed to wait for there rides at front desk as maintence crew (specially ladies ) complain about someone sitting acting suspicious. Not sure how it’s suspicious to wait for a ride or how it would affect them if they are cleaning for someone to wait or why would the management team side with them and that workers aren’t allowed to wait inside and are asked to leave even thought they work there . Cancelled my entire families membership DO NOT RECOMMEND NOT WORKER FRIENDLY!!

It is a nice place. However, why does the kitchen close at 8pm while the facility closes at 10pm.. It doesn't make sense and it's nowhere posted. And why are there different accessories laying around everywhere and every person that works here just walks past it. For a luxury gym, I expected higher standards. Just a shame.

I workout here with a very good friend of mine, and I have to say, this gym is so clean and pristine. The vibe is positive, mellow, and brings a sense of camaraderie. It’s like a bigger boutique gym. The trainers and classes are solid. Dave is a fun, and overall, great trainer. Every Friday I take a class called, “Gauntlet” with Jeremy W, who is fantastic and motivating. On Mondays, I take an upper body lift class with Bill, who is also wonderful. Definitely, a great gym to be a part of!

Have been going to this location for 2 years, before I’ve been to Palatine one and before that at Lifetime.

To be completely honest it’s just my favorite spot to be. I’m pretty introverted person especially when it comes down to gym time. It’s my time to get the “work” done and be in my own space, I absolutely can’t stand when I have to wait for machines and gym gets too crowded (that’s why I quit Lifetime). It doesn’t really happen here even during busy time. County club feel, beautiful environment. All the staff is wonderful, don’t really have anything negative to say even if I would want to. Highly recommend!

Starting 3 days ago I began to receive unsolicited emails from Midtown Bannockburn which displayed a full-blown promotion. I never signed up for this, and there was no "unsubscribe" button or link. I have emailed Midtown repeatedly demanding that they cease sending me these promotional materials, but they keep on doing it. They are also sending unsolicited emails to my wife. I would never consider doing business with a company that antagonizes and mistreats people that it supposedly wants to enlist as customers.

Having been a member at many Fitness clubs around the world for the past 25 years, I have felt the most comfortable here at Midtown Bannocburn for the past 6 years.

From the warm and caring staff at the entrance to the trainers, and instructors. Mark Levine has been a personal trainer and a fitness colleague of mine who I see take the time to meet each member and make them feel valued. Mark Levine has been a personal trainer, class instructor and has other leadership roles for 13 years at Midtown. I am thankful for Mark who helps makes Midtown a wonderful space to maintain fitness goals each day.

Mark inspires me to keep learning and acquiring knowledge about fitness and health these past 6 years. He speaks to me almost daily about new exercises he is learning, a new approach to strength or injury prevention he has learned. He often stops to show me something new or notices an approach I could challenge . I am thankful for his enthusiasm and encouragement.

I enjoy hearing how instructors and trainers at Midtown attend seminars and share the newest ideas with our fitness community. I see Mark and the other trainers caring and supporting each others classes and sessions.

I love Sean Olmo’s Pilates reformer classes! I have done Pilates for many years and was not sure initially if Midtown would deliver the same level of quality as a private Pilates studio. Sean’s classes are well planned in advance and she keeps the class moving right along. She is very capable, friendly and welcoming. Strongly recommend! I also enjoy personal training sessions with Rich Davis. He is very knowledgeable and an excellent personal trainer. I have been a member of Midtown for almost 25 years. I enjoy the indoor and outdoor tennis facilities. I've worked with Cora since 2015, first as a personal trainer/coach and for the last several years with Pilates Reformer. She's the best. I look forward to seeing her every week I can. She's thoughtful, caring and fun to be around. Besides that, she's a great trainer. I could do Pilates elsewhere much cheaper but then there wouldn't be Cora!

I have been a member of Midtown for 20 years, utilizing mostly the exercise and personal training services. The equipment, work out spaces, and locker rooms at Midtown are state of the art, and its aesthetics and cleanliness can’t be beat.

I can’t speak highly enough about my trainer Mark Levine. He has a tremendous amount of experience and is certified in many different training and skills. I train with him 3 days/week: lower body; core; upper body.

Mark is a fantastic trainer! He takes to time to put together a planned regimen of exercises to tone and strengthen various muscle groups, but changes it up to keep the variety interesting. He asks before every session about my mental space and my physical well being, so that we can have a productive session in accordance to what works best for that day. And he is a GREAT coach and makes the training experience fun. He motivates me to always push my envelope of strength and stamina a litter further to continue to make progress. I’ve had several injuries in my life tho, that will never fully heal, and Mark is flexible and vigilant to ease off or modify training as needed.

Knowledgeable, fun, motivational, upbeat, flexible, in tune with his clients—Mark is terrific!

I’m so glad I’m a member of Midtown. Wouldn’t ever think of joining elsewhere.

My trainer Rich Rossi has worked with me for over 10 years and he has strengthened every part of my body. Because of all the right exercised he gave me I was well prepared for quick recoveries after 2 hip replacements within 10 years. After each surgery he worked with me and got me back to amazing shape. My physical therapists for both surgeries discharged me early because Rich was giving me similar or the same exercises and I no longer needed the therapy. I joined Midtown in 2023 after going there for almost a year to see my hairstylist Kaisha, who is an absolute master at coloring and styling my hair. I wanted to start to working out with a trainer which is why I ultimately decided to join. I got paired with Jen who is absolutely incredible!!! She creates workouts that are challenging and push me past what I would do on my own, yet are completely within my ability. When we workout the hour goes by so fast. I highly recommend her to anyone. The gym is nice with lots of amenities. My only complaint is they offer nearly every sport but pickleball. I hope that is something they bring to the club in 2024!

I have been working with Norma M. generally 4 times a week since the summer of 2022. Working out is definitely NOT my thing but I am able to sustain because of Norma. She's been helping and supporting me with building healthy habits and tailoring workout plans based on my needs and conditions. The best part of the training is that the time flies by (rather than constantly looking at time thinking when is it over)- And I see positive results!
Lastly - Midtown is the most flexible and user friendly gym I've ever been to. My kids love it - pool, kidstown, cafe, and tennis!

I joined midtown in December 2022 a shell of my former self. I was mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually broken. My trust with organizations designed for healing was shattered. I first started working with MaryBeth in December taking pilates. In the first session I felt my body start to release stored trauma that had been trapped for years. I signed up for regular packages and made the commitment. It was an uphill climb and often I felt like I was in the Hunger Games. The injuries I had when I started were so severe that for much of the year - midtown was the one place I felt safe at. In June I started personal training sessions with MaryBeth. This was instrumental for healing. The Summer of 2022, while most people were out enjoying life, I was training and getting stronger – day by day – week by week – month by month.

MaryBeth has been vital in my recovery. The personal training helped me rebuild trust, reestablish confidence, and was a catalyst to overhauling my mind/body/soul. MaryBeth has a quiet confidence and a calm demeanor. I never felt judged, misled, upsold, or taken advantage of. She has an intuitive guiding presence: she knew when it was time to push, and when it was time for rest. Her training was a medicinal investment and gave me hope. Thank you MaryBeth – and thank you Midtown – you have been a lighthouse in the storm of a tumultuous few years. I’ll forever be indebted to this safe space that not only changed the trajectory of my life – but saved it.

I’ve been looking for a reformer Pilates studio/classes in the area. The membership for one person is $240+ a month and then reformer Pilates is an extra $39 a class. I’m not sure how people can justify spending that much just to then spend more for popular classes.

The gym itself is really gorgeous but it’s a gym. I can’t justify spending $240+ and $39 per the class I want just because it’s pretty on the inside. I’ll be signing up for another Pilates studio and forgoing this membership.

I really suggest that they change this model cause I would join if Pilates was included.
