Felt incredibly unwelcome and uncomfortable.

I signed up for a trial period for my 3 year old, as she can be very shy. The online scheduling is very easy and streamlined.

I arrived early as we are brand new, and no idea where to go. I approached the desk and waited for information on what to do or if anything else was needed from me information wise for her to join the group. (Or where the group is for that matter).

The person at the desk was on the phone. No problem. The issue is I waited 7 minutes standing there. No "I'll be with you" or eye contact or any acknowledgment. It was soon getting to be well past the start time of the class. I wander off trying to find someone who works there to figure out where to go or what to do. Finally, I found someone who helped guide us to where she thought we needed to be. She helped as best she could as she didn't have access to our information, she said that was the front desk with that information , who still treated us as invisible. The staff member who I tracked down was incredible, patient, kind, and helpful with introducing my daughter to a new place. She helped us as long as she was able before she had her own class to instruct. She is what gives my review more than 1 star. Though the class was already in full swing by this point so my daughter was even more intimidated.

As a new client, I have never felt so awkward and out of place, and so unwelcome as a newcomer. We got no introduction. No tour. Eventually we just left.

I am willing try one more time, and I will happily change my review if I have a better experience. I sincerely hope I can be proved wrong.

My suggestion is that if there is a new student booked under a trial class, to be more guiding and helpful with a strong introduction, and any front desk etiquette of acknowledgment would be a significant improvement. As some one who myself has front desk experience I was very disappointed and felt out of place.

update. 1:
The second trial class we had was a great fit for my daughter! Can't wait to sign her up! The issue is no one is responding to me via phone or email in 4 days about allowing me to sign up. Using the online form keeps getting rejected. The class is fantastic, but the office managemtn continues to be incredibly frustrating. I'm dropping my review to 1 star at this time with this update.

Update 2: it has been over a month since my first posting. I still have not had responses to my communications, only if it involved MEGA getting their payment was I ever responded to and they reached out first.
My questions about multiple classes and such remain unanswered. Initially was told that as long as they are slots and approval, you may have multiple sessions for same tuition, apparently this is untrue and am still awaiting clarification.
School resumed in the middle of the month, and we needed to drop a session. MEGA only allowS changes and charges by the calendar month, so keep that in mind. They will not refund only "credit forward". 2 of our classes were canceled due to holiday periods, while I understand it is a holiday amd eveyone has their time off, though not accommodating this into tuition feels of being charged for service not rendered. Would like to see that "credited forward" too.

My one star review will stay firmly in place, as I do not foresee how this can be repaired.

Again, the coach is fantastic and my daughter has an absolute blast, the above has been my experience and I cannot recommend them due to the consistent difficulties I have encountered.

We love all the instructors here. Classes have been wonderful for my 4 kids. They have a good outline for kids to progress to higher levels and fun themes throughout the year to keep the kids excited. All my kids have enjoyed coming to class every week especially since their coaches are so encouraging. My son is on the pre team and has loved being in that class. My other 3 are in recreation classes and have a blast.

My girls (5 and 8) just started going to MEGA gymnastics. We took a break from gymnastics and wanted to check out MEGA!! I have all good things to say about MEGA!
-Super friendly staff and coaches. They follow a very clean and safe COVID protocol! Bravo!
- Awesome booking /payment program and Sydney is soo helpful!! Such a easy way to pay for tuition!!

** update.. it has been 3 years since we step into MEGA. We are still at MEGA and love coming to gymnastics! A bunch of our friends also have started coming to MEGA! Check out a class!!

Karen is a phenomenal Leader. She's patient, kind and has a super unique way of coaching the 3-4 years olds. With a kid on the spectrum, it's heartwarming to watch the way Karen takes pride in her students ability to showcase their strengths and build their confidence. One month ago I never would have thought gymnastics would have been an option for our child. Thank You Karen! Thank You MEGA!

My son loves Ninja zone program here. The activities could be more diverse. But he has fun. My only complaint is that they Will Not turn the A/C on. It's July, hot and so humid inside. We're sitting up stairs in waiting area with zero air flow.

They do offer a safe gymmastics environment, encouraging coaches and kind staff. But, they didn't give my daughter and corrections to improve her gymmastics, making her think she was perfect and setting her up for disipointmemt when we moved to another gym where she received a bunch of constructive criticism. Also at MEGA you will read that you get to do vault, my daughter was never taught vault and we we're being lied to by this gymmastics place. That's why we moved to Elite Core Gymmastics where we actually pay for my daughter to get taught instead of just being told what to do with no corrections(do a pullover, do a back handspring, do a this and that, on and on).

My three year old attends a Monday night gymnastics class, under 5 open gym on Thursdays, and a Ninja class on Saturdays. We have been coming to MEGA for four months and I have waited to write this review so I could offer a review not about my first impression, but my lasting impression.

First, Sydney is a fixture at the front desk and the first face you will come into contact with. She is an absolute delight and has the answer to every question I have ever thrown at her. Besides being knowledgeable, Sydney is kind and always follows through on anything I ask of her (a Ninja shirt in a small not popular size, a waiting list for a different class, etc). MEGA and the parents are beyond lucky to have her.

Our Monday night "tyke" class is with Coach Rich. Rich is fun, goofy, engaging, but also commands respect, attention, and has a strong focus on discipline. Not discipline in the negative sense, but discipline in teaching them the correct way to perform an exercise, take responsibility, work together, and listen. Rich is not afraid to redirect when they are acting up or are not focused. My free-spirited three year old needs the kind of guidance that Rich provides. She is learning so much more than gymnastics under Rich. He clearly enjoys his career and has a passion for his work - it shows proudly and radiates to his little gymnasts.

The "under 5" open gym on Thursdays is awesome! It's a great opportunity for practice, play, challenging little minds/bodies, and explore without the fear of big kids trampling over the little ones. Thank you MEGA for having the under 5 open gym. It is the best! Thank you to the coaches who staff that open gym and make it a blast!

Ninja class - this is the pride and joy of my three year old girl. She adores Coach Johnny more than she adores his hair (and she really likes his hair). Johnny has the most pleasant demeanor, patient attitude, and free spirit. Ninja class is basically parkour or American Ninja Warrior for kids. She loves the running, jumping, flipping, and freedom of movement that this class provides. Johnny also clearly loves his work and it shows through his positive attitude.

My child's main goal at three years old is to have fun. My main goal for her at three is for her to learn respect, patience, discipline, and critical thinking all masqueraded as fun. The MEGA team do exactly that and I am beyond impressed with our experience.

My girls both in gymnastics going on 9 years, by far the most professional, cleanest and amazing helpful coaches and office staff. Best Gymnastics facility in Elgin, air conditioned to. Helps area school fundraising. Honesty and a great positive coaching staff. Look no further, hands down the best in Elgin.
