My daughter attended classes and was on the different teams for three years while we lived there. She started when she was 6 and was there until recently when we had to move because of military life. She learned so much during her time there. All of the coaches are top-notch and they really care about each individual child. Not only do they make it organized, so they can get the most out of the time the kids have there, but they also make it fun. My daughter made friends there and gained strength and confidence. I wish I could give them 10 stars. If you’re new to the area and looking for a gym for your child I would highly recommend MWT.

A grandma and her 10 year old granddaughter came into my place of business stressed out from how uncomfortable they felt while training here. The grandma could see how the male coach was looking at the kids. I don’t know any names bc I’ve never seen the place but I trust these people and it’s not the first time I’ve heard this. My cousin was going to bring her daughter here but she didn’t not like the rudeness of the male coach.
I would be careful with bringing your kids here and ask your kids if they feel safe around him.

I attended Midwest twister for 7years I was a level 6 gymnast when I had to quit due to an injury I trained there I trained with everyone from coach Logan to amber to Mickey and everyone else they are an amazing training facility the coaching is topnotch they all just want the best for their gymnasts. It really shows in the time they put in to each and everyone of there gymnasts there. I also attended their parents night out and had 3 birthday parties there and they were all amazing I have nothing but good things to say about my experience with both of the these. So if you are in the area and looking for somewhere to train for you or your child I would 100% recommend them as the number 1 option for the eastern part of St. Louis.

This review is only for their birthday party package. They may be a great gymnastic center but I wouldn't use them again for a birthday party. We had our 7yo's daughter's birthday party here recently and it was disappointing. First you walk in and the smell of feet is overwhelming. Again I get it that its first and foremost a gym but I have been in other gymnastic centers in the area and I don't need to step out to get some fresh air like I did with this one. Sort of grosses you out for eating there. speaking of eating there. Their setup consists of a long set of tables that have chairs on both sides but only can fit (barely) people on one side (see picture). The table cloths btw were ours. Its such a tight fit with only one way in and out that you only have half of that seating. There is a small table behind that picture (next to where all the shoes are kept!) for food and such and thats it for space that isn't gym. The birthday package is i believe 2hrs long with 1.5hrs or so of play time and then 30min to eat and presents. The play time consists of a one way path through the myriad of gym equipment setup by the owner. This entertained the kids for awhile but after about 4-5 rotations through the follow the leader like path they were getting bored and there is no free space or open space to run around in. its very tight in there.

Again I am sure they are a fine gymnastic center but if you are looking for a place for a birthday celebration I would keep looking.

This is a wonderful gym that any child would thrive in. My daughter moved to this team about 6 months ago and it has been the most wonderful experience. She is so happy and progressing so well. The coaches are truly into what they do and care so so much not only about their skills but also about the child as a whole.

My daughter began her gymnastics career at the previous location in 2018. We were in testing stages so we only left to try ballet when she turned 3. That wasn’t for her lol. She’s attended two other local gymnastics gyms but ultimately we found our way back home to the new location of Midwest Twisters🌪️ in April of 2022. She’s now 7 on their Xcel Silver team. Mr. Mickey, the owner/head coach is the only head coach I’ve witnessed like him in this area which is a great compliment. They teach basic fundamentals first. Safety is very important to them! She returned to this gym with a terrible form, the staff has helped her get everything together! It’s like night and day! I’ve seen immense progress that my husband and I are very pleased with. If you want to have your child with a coaching staff that provides discipline along with skills and fun drills, then this is the place for you. She loves her gym home! She has this vivid dream every once in a while and it’s the same every time she tells us. Her dream is to be an Olympian and she knows she’ll be on the big stage receiving gold medals one day. I feel this is a great place to aide her into reaching her own personal goals!

We just moved our girls to Twisters this past spring after the team program at the gym they were at stopped and have been very impressed by the intentionality of the coaching and drills. My 7 year old daughter's form has gotten so much better and, perhaps more important to life beyond the gym, her worth ethic and attention to details has improved. The coaches have such a willingness to believe in and encourage their athletes and encourage excellence while also having fun! Here's a shout out to Coach Amber who believes in my daughter's ability on beam more than my daughter does right now. Someday it will rub off on her and overcome her fears. :)

My younger daughter also just joined pre-team and is loving every practice.

If you want solid training without the leotard fashion contest and want coaches who invest in your kid, Twisters is a great place.

We love Midwest Twisters! The facility and coaches are top notch. 2 of our daughters train here. One started when she was 4 and is now 11. Our youngest is just starting out and we trust that she is in the best hands. Coach Mickey is amazing with his approach. He pushes when necessary and pulls back when needed. These kiddos are not only training for gymnastics, they are learning life-long skills.

Birthday parties are a blast here too! Coach Mickey sets it up and tailors it to suit the ages and abilities of the kiddos in attendance. Our daughter just celebrated her 5th birthday here and LOVED it!

The staff is very nice and helpful. The only two downfalls are 1.The place smells like a wet dog, but i'm sure it's just stinky feet. 2. You can't watch your child very well (if that's what you want to do) unless they are smaller and right up front. All in all we have a great experience. We are going to continue to go and wish I would have started my child sooner!

My daughter loved ninja (sidekicks) with Coach Noah and Coach Logan. She is now in level 1 gymnastics with Coach Molly and loves it. My husband and I train together with Coach Logan. Over the course of 20 years of training in various places, Logan is the best trainer making workouts unique, challenging, and ever changing. He is knowledgeable and provides workouts that we would not do on our own. Midwest Twisters is very family focused with great classes for kids and personal training for adults.

Birthday party at Midwest twisters

We had our 6 year old daughter’s birthday party on 2/15/15 at Midwest Twisters.

We had our concerns scheduling a party at Midwest after the last party we attended when one of the coaches had to run the party instead of a party coordinator. He was terrible with the kids and adults, leaving such a bad impression with us that we specifically asked that he not be involved with our party. Needless to say he was the star of our party by the end and the primary reason for my taking the time to provide a review.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves, let me go back to the beginning. Our challenges started with me calling Midwest the day before the party to address my wife's concerns about the front office not having the party set up right. I thought it wasn't possible to screw that up but sure enough we weren't on the schedule and we hadn't come by to pay the deposit. Never mind we called back the previous month to confirm after receiving their message and we were assured we did need to come up that night to pay. Of course it broke down from there on both sides.

Fast forward to the day of the party and we walked in a few minutes early as the previous party was leaving and apparently they did not feel that it was necessary to clean up after themselves. I know I felt bad for the staff.

As our party showed up, it seemed that the one staff member assigned to be our party coordinator was quickly overwhelmed. (We were expecting up to 20 kids and had communicated that in advance). I felt bad for the kids getting put in time out, not because they were not being challenging but because most were not members and used to the rules of the place. Of course when you have kids showing up at staggered times we had quite a few that didn't get the initial briefing on how to play.

Overall the party was good although I had to stop recording videos so I could help the kids up to the zip line, again because it seemed understaffed. (Especially since I was under impression parents were allowed to come out and take pics but not to help with the kids.)

After the gym play time it was time to have pizza and cake, then move on to presents. With that many kids, as well as presents, we were watching the clock closely to try to keep on time but also not be rude to our guests. I already expected Mf Gruff ( I have other names) to be on us to be out on time but what I never expected was him calling out to everyone in a loud voice that we needed to start packing up. If that wasn't embarrassing enough they starting scrubbing the tables with overwhelming smell from clearer as they tore down chairs and tables as fast as we could send people out.

I'm a computer guy but also work in business. I've never (ok last party we were at same guy did similar actions) seen a company work so hard to ensure others do not want to have their birthday party there. I don't think I have to say anything because I think they did a great job turning others away all by themselves. I suspect they are a terrific gymnastics facility and coaching team but I really have to question their business model with the parties. My suggestion is get out of party
business and focus on what you must be good at.

Lastly, after the party it was time to sign our kids up for gymnastics. As nice as it would be to take our two kids to a hometown “O’Fallon” facility, we opted to drive to next available facility in Belleville instead of taking our business back to Midwest and dealing with their personnel. Certainly a shame.
