Changing rooms need a lot of attention!
Way too many day camps with not enough people watching!!
I didn-t like that I was not able to use the lap lane to do my physical therapy exercises! I can understand it if someone was waiting to swim, but with no one using them it made no since! I would not recommend this pool!

I love coming here just to skate. Really nice people there. Sad that I won't be able to skate this summer due to rink 1 being melted down for the summer program and rink 2 being under maintenance or something else. I heard rink 2 might not be done for awhile.

Lived up north for most of my younger life with a lot great ice to stake on. This place is great and makes my kids feel welcome to stake there. Hockey/learn to stake levels organization is pretty good could use some work but overall good. The only thing that kinda needs a lot of work is the concession stand, been to many many Jr. Blues games and love every sec but the concession stand is ran slow and unorganized. I understand it's a smaller rink and don't expect Enterprise Center level but more organization could really help. Overall great place and recommend it.

Went to the first game of the season. They won. I know that it is a family place as it should be. But can you make an adult only section. The kids run around unsupervised. You're watching the game and people walk in front of your view. These kids stepped on my son's hat running up and down the bleachers. Never saw a parent the entire game. Please make an adult only section.

We had my son's birthday party in one of their VIP boxes during a Jr Blues game, and we all had a blast! Very reasonably priced for the private box right next to the ice to watch the game from, and includes 15 tickets, choice of pizza/hot dogs/pulled pork sandwiches, popcorn, and Chuck-a-Pucks for everyone.

Everyone had a good time watching the game and seeing the game and players right there. All the staff, from the hostess to the event planner with extremely nice and accommodating, and we felt like for how much we paid, we got a great deal.

10/10 would host another party here!

This is a nice 2 sheet rink. They have a concession stand although it usually is not open. We have played there at least 5 times. The locker rooms are down stairs but should not be an issue for hockey players. The parking is always limited here. Cars always parked on the streets during tournaments. I would give it five stars if the parking was not so bad, the locker rooms were more accesible, and the rinks were more accessible to each other. I am sure we will play there again.

You know I brought the kids to have fun. My son and his friend yes are on the heavy side. They get bullied at school for it. And here we come to nelson pool and the same thing happened. Not from kids but from life guards. They are telling my son and his friend your to heavy to go down our slide. They are basically saying there slide is not safe at this point. So I go talk to someone. They say they can go down. As soon as they get up there to the person that is managing the slide he lets my son's friend go all the way up to the slide and in front over everyone tells him he weights to much and can not go down it. Why would you wait to tell him that when there is other kids in line. This part discriminates again kids who are a little heavier then they should be. In my book that is not right. They are constantly yelling at kids. One lifeguard pointed at my son and was laughing with another lifeguard. Needless to say we will not go back to this pool. Veterans pool is awesome. The workers there make Shure you are safe and talk to you calmly. I do NOT recommend Nelson pool.

Awful. A bunch of teenage lifeguards screaming at the kids, and they like yelling at them. I see the lifeguards making fun of kids and having a great time being mean. Their tone is inappropriate, the rules that they enforce are not listed, and they seem to only enforce them with certain kids. Will never be back.

Management maintains the ice well, there are light scratches in the ice given that hockey games and practices are held there so don't expect absolutely perfect ice, but it's nice, enjoyable, and usually not too crowded. There are vending machines for water and sports drinks near the service desk. The staff is always polite and helpful and the restrooms are clean and well maintained. Check the website for hours of open skate sessions. I'd recommend calling ahead to confirm open skate times since occasionally tournaments are hosted and times for open skating is either changed or cancelled.

Went there for open skate. Pretty cheap fun for kids. They loved it. Around $8 including skate rental. They have metal helpers for kids that don't know how to skate. As an adult if you're not use to ice skating I would recommend watching from the sidelines for this. The skates WILL BE VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. Best to just send the kids at it alone and let them figure it out.

How's the quality of the ice hockey team? They are great players. How's the customer service? Below average. How's the place look from the inside and outside? Outside looks better than inside. The swimming pool at Nelson Center was very disappointing. The toddler pool was filthy and the lifeguards stood over my 3 year old grandson even though there were three adults within arms reach of him. An older child was allowed to go up the slide and run around and cut in front of other kids. A bunch of lifeguards all sat at the side of the building yelling “walk” at kids that were with their parents. Kids can’t wear swim shoes in the toddler pool, but the pool has rocks on the bottom. When we first got there, my husband fished trash out of the pool. Maybe some of those lifeguards sitting around could be sent to clean the pool. The atmosphere was not fun. We won’t go back there.
