Miles is the best! Give this man a raise!! He brings the best energy to every single class I've taken with him.

I do not recommend this location. From the moment I arrived, the experience was unwelcoming and unprofessional. No one greeted me when I came in, even though it was my very first class. I showed up 25 minutes early, they told me I needed to leave and come back at exactly 30 minutes before class. After calling me over 30 times to get me into the studio, I expected a friendlier environment, but instead I was treated poorly. I suggest choosing a different gym where new members are treated with respect and made to feel welcome.

Definitely the best OTF location in the city, specifically because it’s the best gym layout compared to the other ones I’ve tried but more importantly because they have the best coaches. I specifically can’t say enough good things about Coach Miles. I go out of my way to the Wrigleyville studio to try and book as many classes as I can with him because he’s really engaged with the members and is extremely motivating. He remembers you by name and calls it out during class to tell you you’re doing a great job, he remembers details about you like any injuries you may have, he corrects your form as you’re working out which is exactly why I prefer a coach rather than going to an open gym where I don’t know what I’m doing. He’s also super high energy (I can’t imagine him ever having a bad day) and plays the best music out of any coach I’ve had (keep playing the 2000s Alt Rock and I’ll keep coming to his classes). He motivates me to work harder in class and shows he truly cares about our performance. Whatever you’re paying him, it’s not enough.

I’ve been attending this Orangetheory close to a year now and it is a part of my weekly workouts! I love the mixture of cardio and weight training. Miles is one of my favorite trainers because he is so enthusiastic!

Unprofessional across the board.

Management is terrible to their employees. Way too much turnover because their trainers smarten up or they fire the good ones.

It’s a health/fitness facility but when I was there the front desk smelled like booze and the attendants sit on their phones and suck vapes. Andersonville or another location recommended instead.

OTF Wrigleyville slapped me w/ a surcharge of $10 because I was coming from out of state, and my membership is cheaper.

This is not 1st time it's happened in Chicago area. Starting to hate the OrangeTheory gyms here. Every time I attend a class here at any studio, that's $10 down the drain.

I just told them at another studio, straight up, it's not my fault that my membership rate is that much cheaper. It's not my fault that your guys rate is like $220/mo, which is frankly insane. I think I would shoot myself in the head if I had to pay that much. OFC I did not say that last part.

Their response (at Lincoln Park studio) to my "not my fault everything is expensive in Chicago area, this is 2nd time I am charged for attending a class" was a straight up, "talk to the hand, we don't care." More or less that is how they chose to respond.

I'm not sure in what world I pay over $150/month, that is over $1,800 per year, for membership at OrangeTheory Fitness -- which is frankly insane for any gym membership -- and *still* am forced to give up my credit card as payment for booking a Tread50 class, and slapped with a surcharge of $10 or more.

Like I said this is not the 1st time, total is racking up past $20, and after tomorrow it will be $30 down the drain at least. I have to do Tread50 every day too for the miles, because Marathon Month (MM) is winding down, and the closest gym has T50 classes at an inconvenient time sometimes.

In short, I certainly don't enjoy flushing my hard-earned money down the drain & "donating it" to OrangeTheory studios in the Chicago area, as I'm just visiting family here. I already pay close to $2K a year to OTF, and it's kinda unfair to ask more on top of that.

It's not my fault your membership rates are thru the roof. Adjust your damn rates. Your members are probably nodding their head and cringing at what they have to pay on monthly basis. For shame!

I cancelled my membership because I didn't like the atmosphere. One person can really ruin an experience that was meant to be incorporated into my daily life. NATALIE WAS THE WORST TRAINER with the most unpleasant attitude. After only two encounters, I made an effort to avoid her classes, but unfortunately, she attended classes frequently which made it nearly impossible to completely avoid her. My first experience was with Miles, which was great; he was actually the reason I initially signed up because he was easy to work with. My second experience was with Natalie, who was rude and treated me as though I should know the rules of Orange Theory on my second day there. Instead of kindly explaining, she treated me disrespectfully. She had a huge attitude, rolled her eyes, and was unprofessional. This happened again on my third encounter with her, and even the fourth time when I asked her what my number was because I forgot it. She had an attitude about that, like she couldn’t be bothered. She was beyond unprofessional; I've witnessed her gossiping at the front desk about who knows what, but definitely complaining. I can't go back. I don’t want to go back. I would rather pay extra for Barry’s where everyone is cheerful and easy. Miles and the other two trainers were great.

And on top of that, I thought the heart monitor came with each session. What the heck, not until I signed up did they tell me I needed to buy or rent one for each session. Very disappointing. I was sold on Orangetheory and I only got that experience once. Combined with Natalie's behavior, it's just not worth it. I expect a certain level of service anywhere I spend MY money. I don’t mind paying more for a better experience and better treatment.

All first timers need to stick with it. It’s intimidating at first, but trust me, you see results if you stick with it. Also, get a heart rate monitor. And don’t pay any attention to any one else’s stats on the screen but your own. You you’ll see your progression in real time. I can’t believe that in order to get “splat points” my heart rate has to be so much higher than when I started. That’s progress.

And no, I don’t work for them or get kick backs. This is coming from someone who genuinely has gone to class, expected to just go through the motions and by the end, pushed themselves (within reason) to do just one extra rep on the floor just to get one more point.

Just about a month into my OrangeTheory journey, and I'm LOVING IT! :) All the coaches at this location are so encouraging and make each class not only intense, but so much fun! Jenna is especially nice; made my first class very easy (mentally, definitely not physically ha-ha!) :)

I love all the different events through the month, and it's definitely worth it to invest in the fitness tracker; I love tracking my progress! It also feels great to not feel self conscious being one of the biggest persons in most classes; the coaches offer praise on hard work and the other people in class always offer high fives!

Can't wait to keep pushing towards bigger goals!

This is the most encouraging gym I’ve ever been a part of. The studio staff is friendly, encouraging, and make a point to learn your name. if i could give them 0 stars i would. They do not allow you to cancel your membership. I requested to cancel my membership in November when I first learned my dad had a stroke and I would need to move down to FL to take care of him and the closest OTF was over an hour away. They said I need to visit in person at my home location to cancel. Unfortunately I was already out of state and my dad passed away. OTF proceeded to charge me for December and January even though I signed electronic paperwork to cancel and they were able to see that I had not taken a class since October. They are money hungry, heartless, and have a horrible customer service ethic. it is 100% not worth it.

All the trainers are super welcoming and genuinely want you to achieve your goals. I was nervous at first, and now Orange Theory is the thing I look forward to each week. If you’re nervous about joining, take the plunge. I dropped 35 pounds roughly 3 months after joining in 2019 with a healthier nutrition outlook in addition to two classes a week. I still continue to attend two classes 3 years later 🏃🏻‍♂️

I genuinely have never had a worst customer service experience and this is the first time I am writing a review. I signed up for OTF after going to many gyms all over Chicago and joined due to the location (I was warned not to go here... I should have listened). I work in another time zone and things occasionally come up with work. I called at 9am this morning (09/22) to ask if I could move my 4:30pm class to the 12:05pm class (both were not full) because I was scheduled in a meeting. They did allow me to do this a few weeks ago (which I totally appreciated). I understand business and policies but I cannot believe the way I was spoken to. The 'manager' starts off the conversation with a rude and accusatory tone and says "we have doctors and nurses who are on call and able to follow the rules so I am not sure why you aren't able to". A simple, "sorry, I can't do anything to help you- this is our policy" would have sufficed. I can't believe someone in a managerial position would handle a situation with such a lack of... tact. The way she spoke to me was completely unnecessary, unprofessional and I cancelled my membership immediately. I feel so uncomfortable ever stepping foot in that studio again and I hope she doesn't speak to other people the way she spoke to me.

If I could give zero stars for the management here I would but there are good instructors here that lead great workouts so that counts for something. I already had a bad experience with the manager here before I moved (pretty sure her name is Jessica) and I was going to leave a poor review back when it happened but decided to give her the benefit of the doubt because she ended up somewhat remedying the problem. Fast forward to now and I have moved back to Chicago after being gone for 2 years. I booked a class tonight and accidentally went to the wrong location. So I called and explained what happened and told her I would get there asap. She then told me I’m not allowed to go in after 5 min (which is fine I totally forgot about that rule) so then I asked if I could use my single free cancel for the month and she said they don’t do that at their location and I would be charged a late fee and I could reschedule for the 7pm (but I wouldn’t get out of the late fee). I told her it was pretty upsetting she wouldn’t make an exception and she then goes “I’m the manager here so I’m as high as it goes”. So rude and terrible customer service considering how much we pay for the membership. So basically this location is great as long as you don’t have to deal with her.

I've been an Orange Theory member since June 2018 and didn't realize this was so close to my office! Finally went, once for an afternoon 3g, and once for a lunch time Orange 60. Both were amazing. The front desk staff is very welcoming and nice, the bathrooms are clean and spacious, and the couches were great and supportive asking if I needed any options. I personally love the lay out too; the rowers are in front of a mirror so you can keep an eye on form, and there are 4 monitors with HR information. They also offer small and large towels plus validated free parking for up to 2hours! My only suggestion is the numeric locks for the cubbies. Hope to return again soon!
