Love this Orange Theory studio. Staff friendly, instructors encouraging and facility a gem. Have visited 10+ studios in the system and this may be in the top 10 percent. Towels available and treadmills-equipment are up-to-date. Dropped 15 pounds after 6 months. The transformation is real...

They slapped me w/ a surcharge of $10 because I was coming from out of state, and my membership is cheaper.
This is 2nd time it's happened in Chicago area. Starting to hate the OrangeTheory gyms here. Every time I attend a class here at any studio, that's $10 down the drain.
I just told them straight up, it's not my fault that my membership rate is that much cheaper. It's not my fault that your guys rate is like $220/mo, which is frankly insane. I think I would shoot myself in the head if I had to pay that much. OFC I did not say that last part.
Their response to my "not my fault everything is expensive in Chicago area, this is 2nd time I am charged for attending a class" was a straight up, "talk to the hand, we don't care." More or less that is how they chose to respond.
I'm not sure in what world I pay over $150/month, that is over $1,800 per year, for membership at OrangeTheory Fitness -- which is frankly insane for any gym membership -- and *still* am forced to give up my credit card as payment for booking a Tread50 class, and slapped with a surcharge of $10 or more.
Like I said this is the 2nd time, total is racking up past $20, and after tomorrow it will be $30 down the drain at least. I have to do Tread50 every day too for the miles, because Marathon Month (MM) is winding down, and the closest gym has T50 classes at an inconvenient time sometimes.
In short, I certainly don't enjoy flushing my hard-earned money down the drain & "donating it" to OrangeTheory studios in the Chicago area, as I'm just visiting family here. I already pay close to $2K a year to OTF, and it's kinda unfair to ask more on top of that.
It's not my fault your membership rates are thru the roof. Adjust your damn rates. Your members are probably nodding their head and cringing at what they have to pay on monthly basis. For shame!

Isabella and the other front desk girls are literal gems. Isabella got me signed up within 10 mins and didnβt miss a beat. Iβve taken classes so far with Coach Guy and Coach Sara, both were great and have pretty dope playlists. Highly rec.

OTF Lincoln park has easily become my new favorite workout. The coaches and staff are fantastic and truly go out of their way to know their members and make the workouts fun. They host fun happy hours and themed workouts that bring variety and keep it fun! Happy I found a great place to work out indoors during the cool winter months too. Canβt say enough great things about this studio!

Hard to overstate how much I enjoy OTF Lincoln Park. Aside from the outstanding workout structures that are implemented by the franchise as a whole, this location in particular stands out as one with great energy, camaraderie, and events. Not only is are the trainers friendly and willing to work with you, but the front desk staff ( especially Tia, Vivian, and Steph) will ensure a smooth and worry free experience. If you are on the fence, donβt be, book a class today!

Alright, so let's start off with this, this place is great. I go out of my way to go to this studio. Everyone is super nice and the staff at the front desk truly makes you feel at ease. Steph and Vivian are two of the very best at the front. Jess, Rachel and Sara some of the most fun and motivating coaches I've had.

The studio itself is nice and the instructors are great, unfortunately it seems like there was a lot of miscommunication with the office and front desk as I was charged an additional month after being informed my membership was cancelled by the front desk, so that might be something to watch out for.

I like that it's straightforward, challenging, and that you get instant feedback on your performance. The instructors are awesome! I've found that as long as I just get to the studio, an hour later I leave knowing that I just had an impactful workout that was hard, yet doable.

Classes often filled. I tried canceling, never received the paper work, and was charged 3 additional months. Poor service and no reimbursement. Would not recommend and consider other locations / types of group fitness classes. Other fitness classes have MUCH better policies and have been more accommodating...

Communication from the OT team is dreadful. After signing up through a promotion, no one communicated that although you get a free month with the purchase of a $140 heart rate monitor, you would still be charged another full month after that - a $200 fee! I will say, I do enjoy the classes but the communication and management is not pleasant to work with. On a couple of occasions I would also randomly get cancellation charges for classes I never even signed up for in the first place. If youβre concerned about the price at all, Iβd suggest looking elsewhere that does not randomly charge you or choose to not tell you if youβll need to pay hundreds of dollars down the road. Overall unpleasant experience with management and feel like the wool was pulled over my eyes.

Many people have had the issue that I had this morning and this is absurd. Please see below and avoid this place at all costs.
Dear OTF Lincoln Park,
I am reaching out to you to express my complete bewilderment and disappointment with the lack of customer service and utter incompetence of your staff. I arrived at your COMPLETELY EMPTY GYM 12 minutes prior to class this morning, 3 minutes later than the requested 15 minute time noted in the confirmation email that I received. When I arrived at the empty front desk, I was told that because I was not there 20 minutes prior to class, I would have to come back at a later time, a direct contradiction with your written policy. I could completely understand the policy if it was crowded or even if I arrived 5 minutes before class began; however, this is totally absurd. Even if I arrived 15 min prior to class per your instruction, I would have been turned away.
Iβm the type of person that signs up for a workout at 7:15 AM on a Sunday, which required me to leave my house at 6:30 AM. Iβve taken every OTF adjacent class and at least 100 classes throughout the city of Chicago and Iβve never been treated this way. If you all are not capable of providing a tour of a small, empty space to a single advanced level-athlete that is proficient in rowing, running, and lifting in 12 minutes or less, then you are overwhelmingly incompetent.
Perhaps the instructor, Callen McCarty, just did not feel like teaching an empty class or putting in any work whatsoever? Perhaps it is because Iβm black? Maybe the girl at the front desk just didnβt like my outfit. Any superficial reason is immaterial and I wonβt speculate as to why my time was wasted this morning. However, per many online reviews, this has been an issue that your franchise has chosen to ignore on a consistent basis for YEARS. I can count on two hands the number of people that this has happened to, and I only browsed briefly on Yelp and Google. Given the studio was empty and we are in the midst of a pandemic where people are shying away from gyms, I find your business choices and lack customer service to be a uniquely foolish choice. What I can say is that unlike your staff, I showed up this morning to do the work and Iβll be taking my business elsewhere.
I will be posting my review on every platform available.

Tried to go for my first class here and was turned away for showing up 23 minutes early and not 30. Unfortunate that the answer is βThatsβs policyβ repeatedly. Really not a great experience for a first class, after it took 3-4 phone calls and multiple emails to set up the first class.

The coaches and staff here have made this a community target then just a gym. The encouragement and positive energy from everyone, including other members, Kris me motivated.
For me, the heart rate zone training helps keep me from plateauing. Instead of getting better and comfortable, I get better and pushed to work harder, run faster, etc.

Take your business to Barry's or Shred415 with a staff that actually has customer service. I was signed up to take a free class and that you need to arrive 30 minutes early. I arrived 27 minutes early and was told I would not be allowed in the class. Absolutely ridiculous and unaccommodating, I won't be back.

When cancelling my membership they made me physically come in person to this location (after explaining i have a new job and travel M-F they wouldn't even fax me the document). One month after i cancelled they charged me $189. I called and they explained even when you cancel you get charged one more time. This was not the message that was explained when i physically came to this location to cancel. The manager was not willing to work with me on waiving the charge. She kept explaining i could come in for the next month, which makes no sense because i'm cancelling for a reason... currently waiting for the next supervisor to call me. Disappointed with the customer service and the amount of trickery that's involved when being a member.

Let me start by saying, I LOVE Orange Theory - it is my favorite fitness concept. I was very disappointed with my experience at this facility. First, I had a friend that was looking to try the class for the first time. I understand the policy of arriving 30 minutes early, and she arrived over 20 minutes early - I was absolutely shocked when they didn't let her take the class. Again, I get the policy, but the class was not crowded, and there were 3 other people standing around at the front desk that could have easily done a quick run through with the potential client. The instructor can't even take you into the studio until the class was done - I was appalled that they would turn away a potential client, and opportunity for revenue, because of a "policy" - a policy that is 30 minutes, because they assume people will be late. Then, I was traveling in from out of town and had my heart rate band - when I signed up for the class, the girl at the front desk didn't ask for my monitor number - I had to remember before class started. She then brought it to me and said in a condescending way "you have 10 minutes left". So, I asked if they had a monitor to borrow, and she said "yes, it's $5". Again - maybe I am used to my home studio being more understanding and humane about some of these policies, but I was so turned off by her attitude. To top it off, she then went back to the desk to complain to the other girls there, and they forgot to start the class on the big screen! Ultimately, I felt this studio was unaccommodating, unprofessional, and poorly run.

First of all, the coaches are knowledgeable, instructions are clear and easy, they incorporate a variety of exercises and intervals while encouraging individuals to listen to your body and go at your own pace, and the heart rate monitor screen with real time feedback is another fun stimulant. The group setting promotes accountability and motivation, and pushes me further than I am disciplined to push myself on my own. I leave every 50 min session dripping with sweat and exhausted, and that's how I like to start the day.
