If you are nervous like I was, give it a try! Everyone is really kind to the newbies! They will walk you through everything and even check on you during your workout to make sure youβre ok.
I went back to back my first time and not the best idea haha, try 2x a week to start! Instructors are great and lovee how I feel sore the next day!

I freaking love OTF. Itβs been doing wonders for my strength and wellness after not having a structured fitness routine since COVID. All of the staff are AMAZING, especially Nick, who is super good about encouraging about challenging your body. All of the coaches are great, the front desk staff are SO nice, and while I was put off by the cost at first, the investment in my fitness and long-term health is sure to be priceless. Iβm happy to be an unlimited member at this OTF.

I have been going to OTF Evanston for over 2 years now and love the classes they have. All the coaches are friendly and motivating. The classes are intense which great if someone is looking to push their heart rates. The fast paced nature of the classes also donβt distract me to compare myself to other people. At the end I focus a lot more on my workouts. The special events especially the dri-tri and run for distance are a great way to test and push my abilities. Coming here has helped me feel the fittest in many years.

I would rate this place a 0-star if I can. I have been a OTF member since Jan 2023 and enjoyed all the classes with my studio in NJ. All the coaches are helpful, they encourage you to exercise at your pace and never push anyone to catch up. This is the part I love about OTF as a newbie to HIIT and I can see a big change in my stamina and my health condition. I travelled to Evanston to visit my friend and I booked a class in this studio because I want to recommend OTF to them. I told them what I experienced from OTF in NJ and they are very interested. We arrived early for their trial class and it became my nightmare for my trip. The coach was very intimidating: it was a 2G class and she kept saying that β if you are feeling uncomfortable, you are doing this rightβ. We were shocked hearing this in OTF because this never happened in my regular studio and itβs against OTF concept which geared towards ALL levels of fitness. As a person with existing health conditions I canβt imagine if this was my first class, what will happen: I might end up in an ambulance! I felt lucky that my health condition is improved before I took this class! I can do 3G classes in my own studio with no problem but I canβt handle a 2G with a pushy coach here.
The second thing is the membership offerings. I told my friend I go to my studio once per week on weekends because I work Mon-Fri unlike the entrepreneurs who donβt need to work 8 hours a day. My friend is busier than I am but they think a gym class per week is a good idea to keep themselves up in a good condition. However, after the class ended, my friend were offered an membership with unlimited access to the class every month, which is impossible for us regular people as I said before, we are NOT entrepreneurs. I asked if there is a membership that has limits like 4 times a month/8 times a month and they said my friend can do a drop in instead of offering the basic membership to us.
Call me a peasant if I am misunderstanding how OTF works in big cities like Chicago/ Evanston because this is the worst experience Iβve ever had with OTF in my life. But this is what I have been through in this studio and I believe their concept is for rich and masculine workout bros instead of everybody.

I was greeted so kindly by Jayson at the front who told me what to expect for my free trial workout. Sunny was the instructor and made it fantastic! OTF splits the class into two areas: floor and tread (treadmill). The first 30 youβre interval running or floor exercise with free weights, body weight, or the rowing machine. Throughout the class, Sunny instructed each half of the class continually and was great encouragement. Oh and you wear a HR monitor and can see where your HR is and if itβs close to your max, resting, or middle. I loved the rather loud music and instruction. It provided just enough chaos for my brain to push myself! After we were done, Sunny showed me the results summary on the TV and explained everything. Jayson then broke down memberships and deals for me before I signed up. Highly recommend anyone try the free class!

This place is awesome!!! Trainers are great and the workouts definitely help you burn the calories. Also, this is a great alternative to gym rats who hate cardio. Though youβll definitely get your heart rate going it doesnβt feel like the usual boring workout session. The group atmosphere makes even cardio bearable.

It was my first time exercising in almost a year and a half b/c of COVID. I don't particularly like working out, but found the different stations and the fluidness of workout, especially being able to go at my own pace to be comfortable, yet still intense. I've been a member at Orangetheory Fitness Evanston for over two years and I LOVE it. I get a great workout (and can adjust my effort to get the intensity that I want on a given day). The coaches really know their stuff. The studio managers & front desk staff are extremely warm & welcoming. And the members, along with the staff, form an incredible, supportive, celebratory community. Folks really care about and encourage each other, not just about fitness, but in all areas of life. It's a special place. :-) The only limitation with OTF Evanston is that the physical studio space is on the smaller side compared to other locations. Still, it's totally workable, and when we occasionally need extra space on the floor, we work together to stagger ourselves so that everyone has room to move comfortably. And I actually like that because it contributes to our sense of community.

OrangeTheory truly changed my life. With the ever changing workouts and great coaches I was coming on average 4-5 times a week for months. As a biker and friend to many of the staff I came incredibly early to grab my bike card and chat. However, because I was a βfriendβ I was asked several times if I could switch up my bike card for other members in front of my classmates, which seemed unprofessional and distasteful. I also had issues with the fan that took months to be fixed. Lastly, I wanted my student discount added to my account so I went downtown to get it well before school starts to have them add it to my account, come to find out during the next billing cycle it wasnβt added at all. By that point I was done. Doesnβt seem like a way to treat a friend or even a member spending $169/ month. With the amount of money spent on membership and the lack of care for current members Iβm choosing to take a step back. Iβve now purchased a peloton and itβs the best thing yet (and cheaper). I spoke to the owner and even though he was willing to pause my account indefinitely and refund my money to cancel indefinitely, he didnβt sound sincere in anyway shape or form. I felt that I was just a dollar sign. Each time something happened instead of them coming to me I was alway bringing up how I felt, even members would come to me saying the ways in which they handled me were unprofessional. In my opinion, Iβd say they need better customer service with the current members they have than the ones they constantly call and pursue.

Great workouts that fit into my busy schedule. I can get the results I am looking for with just 3 workouts a week. I could not get the same results when I did my own independent workouts 5 times a week. The difference is the workout intensity, the interval training, and the motivation from the trainers.

This location has terrible customer service. I am an OT member but hadnβt been to this location, and brought my brother to try out the class. They barely have any parking, and because of this we only arrived 15 minutes early instead of the 30 minutes they requested. We were terribly disappointed when the coach gave no explanation but simply shooed us away, forcing the front desk person to tell us we couldnβt join the class because of their 30 minute policy. Considering the amount of money I pay for this membership, the least they could do is provide a warning about lack of parking, show some sort of compassion when communicating their policies, or simply provide good customer service by making exceptions to this ridiculous policy.
I will not be returning to this location, nor will I refer any friends or family.

I love Orangetheory and I have always had a positive experience with the staff at this location until today. I received some really negative energy from them simply because I forgot my duck shoes there from the evening before. Let's be clear I did forget my shoes from the evening class and hustled down in the morning to pick them up. I was informed it was a good thing because they would have been given away that day. The shoes had been there for 14 hrs and they were about to be given away. When I informed them that in my opinion that was a bit extreme they just stated that the rules had been posted for weeks and that is the way it is. I found this to be a stunning lack of emotional intelligence. I told them that I was feeling a great deal of negative energy from them and all 3 of them shrugged their shoulders in reply. I hope that they look at these comments from the positive place from which they are intended. I think this is a teaching moment. A little emotional intelligence can go a long way in life.

The staff is friendly and makes sure you are taken care of. The workouts are tough but that's the only way to see results and build endurance, but fun to do and it changes every day so there's no way to get bored. The music selection is always great!! The coaches make sure you're giving it your all. The facility is small but very well kept. The women's bathroom is filled with personal care products and the bathroom is always clean when I go, mornings or evenings. Highly recommend it to anyone! If you're a couch potato and want to change your habits or if you already have a fitness routine but want something fun and different. It's for anyone and everyone.

I reached exactly at 10 minutes from the start of the session today but they didn't allow me inside saying they go by the gym clock which generally runs faster than normal time. Quite disheartened especially when you reach all the way and you are within those 10 minutes and still they don't allow you in. They should reset their gym clock as per normal timing.

Workouts vary daily and keep you motivated. The coaches are consistently helpful and do a great job of getting more out if you than you thought you could do. Cost is a little higher than a quality gym, but there is no way you'd get the results you do from a traditional big-box gym. You compete against yourself to achieve personal goals, you you'll find everyone from serious athletes to those just starting out, without any weird dynamics. You don't have a valid excuse. Just try it.

After over two years this workout continues to challenge me. The variety, style (group training), and the great staff (coaches and administrative staff). It is truly a transformational workout. I have transformed with this workout. (Lost over 50 pounds and my cholesterol at perfect levels by all measurements now.) Given the kind of results I have experienced I recommend this for anyone looking for a sustainable life changing workout.

As an fitness consumer for over 35 years----I Love the variety, I respect the theory in which the workout is grounded, and I adore how fun it is, all because of the trainers and personal involvement of the staff. Like Goldilocks would say- OTF is not too much, not too little, the balance at OTF is Just Right!

I had my first experience with OTF yesterday and let me tell you....it's amazing!!! Especially because of the trainer and the entire crew! Peter, the manager for that location is very organized and makes you feel so welcome! Jim who is the trainer for my class is so positive and nice! I really enjoyed my first free class. It was challenging but also very welcoming. I will be back! Thanks for the great work out OTF!

With all of the choices that are out there for your fitness dollar, I have to say OTF will continue to earn my business. I feel like I am leaving a personal trainer every time I walk out of class. I am 2 months in and will continue to be a member.
