I have been attending small group circuit training sessions at Phorm for a few weeks now and it has been great for me. I like the small group size - a good combination of group motivation and personal attention. I find the work approachable (not a competition), challenging for my whole body, and feel like I am getting good help on proper form. Kristine and Nhu are excellent coaches!

I have been searching everywhere in Chicago for a gym experience like this! As a woman, I'd been looking for a place to lift weights and strength train that was not always part of a HIIT class. Phorm offers the perfect mix of strength training, cardio work, and HIIT options throughout the week. I have worked with every instructor there and the expertise, comfort, care, support, and motivation they give to each of their students has changed me entire health experience. It feels like I leave every class like I just left a 1:1 training session. The environment was so welcoming, especially for someone who had never lifted weights before and was intimidated to start. Went to PHORM for the first time through ClassPass and loved it! Kristine was so welcoming and took the time to get to know me and my goals before class. I have knee issues and haven’t consistently weight lifted in a loooong time and Kristine was consistently checking in to see how an exercise was feeling and always gave really great adjustments. I’m looking forward to going back for another class!

The gym itself is an amazing space that allows for smaller class sizes which enables the coaches to spend more time focused on each client. I love PHORM! It’s such a great blend between group training and personal training. It feels like you have a personal trainer bc the coaches are so knowledgable and attentive so you get quality one on one support, and class sizes are small, but you still get to workout with your friends! Workout programming is creative and effective, and I felt challenged in a good way. Watch out for coach Kristine- she definitely will not allow you to slack off or pick a weight that is not challenging enough! 😅 she is encouraging and pushes you to your limits but in a safe and realistic way. It’s great for any fitness level as the coaches help you scale up or down. Highly recommend trying them out!

I’ve been coming to Phorm regularly for a little over a year now, and it’s become a necessary part of my weekly workout routine. I really crave their classes anytime it’s been a while! I feel so much stronger after becoming a regular at Phorm. Their HIIT class is my favorite but absolutely every single class is an amazing workout and leaves you with that super accomplished, sweet, deliciously sore feeling. Every single one of the instructors is super knowledgeable, gives personalized attention to detail, and is cool and friendly (and super ripped)! They push you when you need it, encourage you to level up when it’s time, and offer/encourage corrections and modifications when needed. I also love that it’s a small group class format and women-owned! I seriously love this place.

I wandered into Phorm Fitness via Classpass and I'm so happy I found them! Their classes are small (usually around 6 people) so Kristine and Nhu have time to spot you or adjust any of your form. Everyone that attends the classes is also so friendly! The class is tough but you can adjust as needed. Highly recommend for people at all levels!

I have been working out at PHORM for a few months now and I can honestly say I am so happy I found them! The small class sizes are perfect where you feel comfortable and not intimidated. Everyone is super friendly and supportive too. I had a very basic fitness regimen prior to joining and I find myself much more confident with the workouts and have even started picking up heavier weights. I’ve taken a couple classes with Kristine and she does such a great job teaching the whole class and instructions are easy to follow. Kristine also gets to know people personally and takes her time in explaining how to do exercises if needed. The classes are very fun yet challenging, and I feel so motivated being around other people and with the push of the instructor! I also love the size of the classes and how the place is beautifully designed and clean.

Phorm is definitely a safe and welcoming environment for everyone and all the people I’ve met during the classes are so nice! Will definitely be taking more classes in the future!

Speaking from the perspective of someone who has never liked to work out, PHORM Fitness is the longest I have ever committed to attending any facility. This is largely due to the versatility of exercises, the format of each class, and the cleanliness of the gym. What also stands out about PHORM are the instructors, Nhu and Kristine. Not only do they ensure you have the proper body mechanics to avoid injury and target specific muscles, but are able to differentiate the exercise for the specific person. When I was pregnant each exercise was curtailed to me to maintain the health of myself and my child. Based on their consistent encouragement I was able to maintain working out throughout my pregnancy which made my delivery(as a first time mom) seamless!!

Highly, highly recommend Phorm Fitness to anyone regardless of where you are in your health and fitness journey.  I've been a member since the opening, this fitness studio is everything I needed to get me back into working out during the pandemic. The classes are challenging but not intimidating, you can go at your own pace, the coaches provide individual guidance and substitutions if needed, and they're always keeping things fresh/interesting! I'm also a personal training client of Nhu but both Nhu and Kristine are motivating, encouraging, challenging, and beyond personable! The fitness studio is beautiful, clean, has all the amenities you need for a great workout. Lastly, and probably most importantly, the community Phorm Fitness has built is unmatched - friendly, supportive, social, hilarious - it's a great way to meet people, and if that's not your thing, it's just an overall friendly vibe that I've struggled finding elsewhere.

Phorm Fitness and the team is amazing. I was very active in CrossFit, had an injury then was unable to squat or hinge as well as my confidence was at the absolute lowest.
I started training 3 times a week with Nhu. She understood my injury and how to strengthen that area. She built my confidence both in the gym and outside of it. She adapts her training to each client and their needs. She is so relatable, always organized and prompt on timing. I made so much progress and am excited to be back in the gym again!
I also enjoy a few classes with Kristine and she does such a great job walking you through movements!

This is the first gym I've ever joined and I'm so glad to have found this great community with excellent trainers and quality equipment. If you are looking for a gym membership that offers small group circuit training, personal training and nutrition planning than look no further. I can confidently say that this gym is the best of it's kind in the city.
Although I am an inexperienced beginner, I believe you can enjoy this membership at any level because they offer opportunities to work at your own pace with guidance from professional trainers.
When I was first researching gyms in the Bucktown area in Nov 2021 I saw that Midtown Athletic Club was right across the street. I picked Phorm because it was more reasonably priced and they are a class-based gym where as at Midtown you are just one of many. The trainers at Phorm truly care about your personal development and provide everyone with personal training in an small group setting. I cannot recommend this place enough

I was in a funk (to put it lightly) during Covid when I was first introduced to the lovely ladies at Phorm. Not only did it fulfill a void for community but it has gotten me back into a gym after so many years of being afraid to. Nhu and Kristine have helped me overcome knee and back pain I'd grown used to, work with me on my form and push me to the next level each class. I still have work to do but I feel so much stronger and confident since joining. Nhu has built a one of a kind community alongside Kristine and Emily. The workouts have done so much for my mental health as well as physical. I have never felt more challenged and cared about by a trainer. Plus, I can always tell they truly believe in me- which is a great motivator during a tough workout! I love how every workout is different and targets key muscle groups. I also love the accountability I’m held to even after more than a year. If you're looking for something like personal training but with a better price tag, look no further. This little gym is tiny but fierce, and keeps my mental, emotional and physical health in check! Classes are small (no more than six people) and the attention the coaches can give to form, progression, etc. is unmatched. I have always liked lifting more than cardio, but never followed any program. Nhu and Kristine have coached me to a level of lifting I never thought possible, and always encourage me to (safely) do more. I think they do a special for your first class, but I doubt you'll only go once. You'll be hooked!

Though I considered myself to be in good shape (mostly through cardio training), I used to be so intimidated with lifting heavy weights, especially due to a weak knee. I would only stick to the machines at the gym, but then get frustrated when I wouldn’t see any progress! But Nhu and Kristine of Phorm swept me off my feet with their massive traps, and completely changed my life around! They offer circuit training classes that focuses on strength training, personal training packages, and nutrition counseling!

After only three circuit classes, I began to realize how quickly I was developing the proper form while lifting heavy dumbbells and plates, which only motivated me to keep pushing harder! Direct yet encouraging, their teaching methods help you feel supported during the entire duration of the class. Only a maximum of six people are allowed per class, so it gives the instructor the freedom to assist someone with the correct techniques if needed. I’ve seen people of all different exercise backgrounds in the class, all leaving drenched in sweat and satisfied with their workout! The best part is their incredible music playlists, which makes me want to twerk while squatting at the bar!

I would definitely recommend this gym for anyone! Their focused drive on strength training has really helped me develop the confidence with heavy lifting even outside of class. Newcomers can drop in to try a class for only $15! It’s worth every penny, and I hope to see you in one of the classes one day!

Wonderful boutique fitness studio located in Bucktown! I needed to resume physical activity after being in quarantine and getting accustomed to a sedentary, WFH situation.
