Whoever answered your phone at 2:35 PM on Sunday October 19th in Aurora, Illinois, Was super rude on the phone when just simply trying to cancel my membership. Not only did he talk over me at any chance That he got, he rushed me off of the phone, I literally had to talk over him just to ask him a simple question because he was not even trying to hear what I had to say what I was having an issue with. Hello,

I am writing to demand an immediate and thorough investigation into the conduct of the General Manager, Isaac P., and employee Kyle L. during my recent visit to your location. My experience was profoundly upsetting and raises serious concerns about leadership, safety, and compliance with your organization’s policies. What follows is a factual account of the incidents I witnessed and the corrective action I expect management to take.

During my visit, I observed repeated examples of unprofessional and unsafe behavior that directly reflect on Isaac’s leadership and Kyle’s performance. Isaac frequently used the workplace as a platform for demeaning language, making repeated homophobic remarks in the presence of staff and customers. On multiple occasions Isaac referred to other employees using a derogatory slur (I am intentionally not repeating the word here), and he made joking comments that demeaned employees’ sexual orientation. Such language from a person in a managerial position is unacceptable, creates a hostile workplace, and exposes the company to legal and reputational risk. Management’s role is to establish a professional, respectful environment — Isaac’s words and demeanor did the opposite.

Equally troubling was the lack of supervision and enforcement of basic customer safety and access policies. Kyle L. and other staff members were often allowed to remain on personal devices while on duty, were dismissive and rude when customers asked for assistance, and permitted unauthorized individuals to go behind the service desk. These actions created both a security risk and a severe lapse in customer service standards. Rather than addressing these behaviors, Isaac appeared to tolerate and normalize them, demonstrating either tacit approval or a failure to manage his team.

The combined effect of these behaviors — discriminatory remarks by a manager, poor supervision, and routine unprofessionalism by staff — has created an environment that is both hostile and unsafe for customers and employees. I urge upper management to take the following actions without delay:

Launch a formal, documented investigation into Isaac P.’s conduct, with specific attention to the homophobic remarks and any pattern of discriminatory behavior. Interview witnesses, review on-site recordings (CCTV) for relevant dates/times, and collect statements from staff and customers who observed the incidents.

Place Isaac P. and Kyle L. on administrative review while the investigation is conducted, to prevent further harm and to ensure impartiality.

Discipline or remove any employee found to have used discriminatory language or to have created a hostile workplace, consistent with your company policy and applicable law.

Require anti-discrimination and professional conduct retraining for all staff at this location, and review supervisory practices to ensure managers model allowed behavior.

Provide clear corrective steps and a public (to affected parties) response describing what actions were taken and how the company will prevent recurrence. I request a written response that outlines the investigation’s outcomes and the steps management intends to take.

I am prepared to provide a detailed, dated account of what I saw (including approximate times, witnesses, and any supporting information) and to cooperate with your investigation. The behavior I witnessed is not minor: it undermines trust in your brand, risks employee well-being, and violates basic workplace standards. For the protection of customers and staff, please treat this matter with urgency and transparency.

Recently I joined Planet Fitness at the Aurora location, Planet Fitness, 4306 E New York St, Aurora, IL 60504. I wanted to compliment one of the team members I encountered this Friday afternoon, Chris, a trainer at the gym.

During my workout, I had a brief conversation with him and was struck by how focused and professional he was. His dedication to his work stood out and reminded me of someone dear to me. He was kind and listened to me, making me feel "no judgement", just as their motto proclaims.

As someone new to the area, I deeply appreciate the positive energy and welcoming environment at this gym. It’s clear that Chris and the rest of the staff help create a space where members feel comfortable and encouraged.

I recently came to Planet Fitness for the first time, as a guest, to do a workout. Before I was able to start my workout, I was quickly approached by a staff member letting me know it is against their policy for people to have gym bags with them in the workout space and it needed to go in the locker room. I completely understood and was respectful about the encounter. Moments later after I began my workout, I was once again approached, this time being told that I was “slamming” the weights too aggressively and not properly taking care of the equipment, despite it not being anything out of the ordinary. I, again, kindly apologized but there was a level of hostility in the worker’s voice that was unappreciated. I completely understand it being the staff’s job to uphold Planet Fitness’s policies, but it was incredibly frustrating to see MULTIPLE other individuals, slamming weights just as loud if not louder than what I was approached for. Later during my workout, I notice others with their gym bags in the gym space, and none of them were approached as I was. It’s completely ridiculous to not uphold a standard among every individual in the gym, while I was approached multiple times. I couldn’t have a good rest of my workout as I felt like every movement I did I needed to be extra careful to not be approached again by staff, and it overall brewed a terrible environment for a workout. Again, this is not a complaint on Planet Fitness’s policies, but instead how I was treated by the staff and the lack of equal enforcement among others in the gym.

It's a good gym, but the tap pay option for drinks doesn't work and thats crazy. I'm not from this area, so they can't just scan my planet fitness account so I can pay that way, but the tap pay option should work and i know my card has money.. It's very frustrating having the same issue at a completely different planet fitness. Also, the desk staff is kinda rude.

I changed it to four stars instead of two because it wouldn’t be fair to the other staff. They work really hard to keep the gym clean, and everyone else is super nice. This is my main gym—I’ve been coming here for years and have seen all the equipment upgrades. I still really like working out here.

Today was just ridiculous. My hands were hurting from the equipment while I was warming up, so I went to the locker room to grab my lifting gloves. Then, out of nowhere, this employee in a yellow shirt chased me all the way to the women’s locker room entrance, asking why I didn’t wipe down the machine. Like… what?? Because I wasn’t done using it yet??

By the time I grabbed my gloves and went back, someone else was already using the machine, so I just moved on to another exercise. But somehow, this guy managed to find me again in the crowd and asked—again—why I didn’t wipe the machine earlier. Like, dude, what am I supposed to do? Kick those people off and tell them, “Hey, I’m not done yet”? Or awkwardly interrupt them just to wipe it down before they use it? That’s insane.

I’ve been working out at PF for years—I know you’re supposed to wipe down equipment after using it and put them back. I’ve seen plenty of people not wiping, but I never saw him chasing them down like this. And funny enough, the chair he brought over? Didn’t see him put that back in the dumbbell area either. So what is it? Singling me out on purpose? Racial discrimination? Or just trying to flex his authority here? Either way, it’s disgusting.

Went in for a normal workout. Had my bag with me. Was informed that I couldn’t have it with me. Was then told I could have it with me for the day. No issue with that. Not 5 minutes later, another employee tells me the same thing. Again, no problem. That employee then goes walking by 5 other people with bags on the floor and says not a word to them. If you’re going to have a policy, enforce it across the board. Terribly run, no communication, and couldn’t even explain why having my bag was "dangerous."

I’ve been coming to this gym for about 2 years now and it’s always been peaceful vibes. Over the last year though I noticed a big difference with how clean and organized the gym has been, mainly due to the night shift employees, Will and Sarah. Number one they’ve always been respectful, but the attention to detail as far as making sure the equipment is clean, weights where they belong, trash stations empty and paper towels stocked. They put in work and it shows, not to mention at least one of them are at the counter to assist with any issues. They are one of the main reasons why I start my day off on the right foot and keep coming back. Will and Sarah definitely separate this gym from any other. Just my thoughts and opinions.

Greatest thing about Planet Fitness is the price. 12 bucks per month for the basic membership plus an annual fee.
Wide selection of weight machine and cardio machines. Stretching area could be larger.
You don't want to use the lockers for valuables - they're made of cheap wafer board & could be busted open with a small crow bar.
Biggest downside are the trousers stains who text while pretending to work out. Sorry kids but you can't get a good workout unless you FOCUS & CONCENTRATE. Leave your toys in your cars.
Of course you can't complain to these dweebs because then you are guilty of abusive behavior. And the management won't do anything because they might lose revenue.
Been working out here regularly for several years and it serves my purpose.

i go to planet (this location specifically) all the time. i’ve never had an issue, the vibes are nice and the people are usually chill. however today i came around 3:30 and it was fine, slightly busy as you would except with their free summer membership for teens, but fine. around 25-30 mins into my workout i start hearing loud screaming and banging by the dumbbells (coming from a group of teenage boys) and few minutes later the lunk alarm goes off and the noise quiets down. however around 10 minutes later they start screaming louder as if they were a group of preschoolers (clearly doing it on purpose to get attention) at this point everyone in the gym is audibly annoyed. but we feel a sense of relief as we see an employee approach them. unfortunately, the employee (vanessa, black wavy hair) was very clearly friends and knew the group of boys and did nothing but laugh with them and allow them to continue the obnoxious behavior. i was already thinking about cancelling my PF membership to go with Crunch because they have better equipment but i’ve been staying with planet because i like the vibes and it’s close to my house. however, after this situation i will definitely be going with Crunch.

Really sick of "personal trainers" (not associated with Planet Fitness) using the gym as their fitness center for clients. I would like to give a shout out to two of your employees who work the over night shift. There names are Wil and Sarah. Each morning when I arrive around 3:30 they are always busting their butts to make the gym look great. Weather it's cleaning the bathrooms, moping the floors, emptying the garbage, refilling the spray bottles, even when members take the weights somewhere and are to lazy to bring them back. Also, you can tell when they are not working BECAUSE THE GYM LOOKS LIKE A MESS!! Thank-you for taking the time to read this and realize how GREAT of them are to your facility.

I had a nightmare of a time trying to cancel my planet fitness in Villa park by a customer challenged manager named Angel. i went in multiple times to cancel and their staff was unaware how to execute it. After paying literally for over 3 years Without using the facility due to covid and my injuries , i got lucky and the manager was in. She allegedly cancelled me. i asked for a receipt and she stated that they did not give one, but rest assure i was cancelled. But that wasn't the case. They were hitting my credit card up again. I called them about the continued charge. angel stated i was to return back to cancel in person and pay late fees. i stated i did not want to come in for fear of going postal. 30 mins later i get a call from the villa park police about a threat . The police stated it was not a threat as i said i did not want to come in!! But none the less , now i cant go to the location per police order, which is required. Now this is when i get hold of the aurora planet fitness and OMG night and day difference when it comes to customer service. They were very helpful and understanding and guided me on what to do to cancel. I had my girlfriend go in with a letter from me which she recorded on her phone. i called angel the next day to confirm my cancellation and she stated the letter needed to be mailed and she didn't- like i wrote my letter on my business letterhead. So now frustrated as hell, i came to this location and what a breath of Fresh air. This location has a

I really like coming really early in the morning or late at night because it can get crowded. I am standing at the front desk writing this after already looking all over the gym and standing over 20 minutes waiting for an employee. I literally cannot find a single person that works here. There was someone when I checked in, but he disappeared immediately after and I haven't seen him since. Even tho I live right behind this gym I tend to visit only if the Naperville locations or Plainfield location have closed for the day or I need to get a quick workout in and don't have time to travel to my other favorites. For this PF to be one of last few to be opened 24hrs someone need to come in and do an extreme make over on this location. Starting with the workers who tend to stand behind the counter and socialize and be on their phones. Then you have the facility itself that seems to not be clean like I see other PF being cleaned to a machine or two or three being broken every time I go. This is such a shame because like someone else said this location has the potential be a Gem in the area. I also really feel this location needs an update in their machines as I see other locations have machines this gym does not have. I have visited this location a few times but this was the worst! Clumps of hair in the changing area, and a dead hot water heater was enough for me to say just no to this location.

Added to the fact that the handicap stall for showering doesn't have a seat, which I need when my arthritis is flaring up, this is unacceptable.

This gym has great potential in becoming the most popular PF in Aurora as it's a 24/7 gym. They need to upgrade their equipment and add more 45lb weights. Is the water fountain pressure low or is it just me? Besides that, by upgrading or having new machines could bring me in more often. I enjoy the PF on Lake st. But unfortunately they are closed early around 7pm during the weekends.

Great location, corporate owned, so still open 24 hours. BE FOREWARNED, if you're tryna get caked up, many of the leg machines don't have higher weight options, so maybe do your leg day elsewhere.

Seriously the worst planet fitness I’ve ever been too it very evident that the owners don’t care at all. They have some of the most outdated equipment half of it is broken it just doesn’t make sense needless to say I will no longer be a member of this gym after over 6 years of going to planet fitness’s is really a shame

Only leaving a one star review so that planet fitness orders their typical rubber mats for this location. I have also submitted a request through their website. These antiquated plastic mats are so beat up but more than that they do not feel good, make you sweat more and as you are doing your exercises on your back you slide all over the place as they are slick. This is a great club, great location and has great people that work here and workout here but these mats!!!! Please fix this someone in charge and if you can do it stat, that would be great!!!!!

I LOVE this gym but 90% of its patrons are here to talk as if we are at a club. They socialize and sit at machines as if no others are waiting to use them. If you are one of these people - learn some respect. People are trying to work out and focus. Talk to your friends elsewhere

Changed my review. Someone cut my lock off in the changing room. Removed my keys and went and robbed stuff out of my car in the parking lot. When I reported this to the club they admitted this happens quite often. I wasn't the only one that day either. Reading other reviews it been posted multiple times. This has to be a club member how else will they get onto the changing room. Even though they are aware of the issue for months no cameras have been fitted to monitor the parking lot etc. Very dissapointed with the security and lack of action at this club. Whenever someone complains about this they just quote how they are not responsible for loss etc etc. They should however take responsibility and create a safe and secure environment for customers.

Nice clean facility, I previously visited with my niece a couple years ago as a guest and I remember they have been sanitizing equipment even before the pandemic. Had a great workout and I plan to continue on a regular basis. I have spinal and nerve issues and the setting is perfect.

It's not as big as some other gyms like lifetime, signature fitness, or la fitness, but it's got all the basics except a rollout wheel. Even though there are giant ceiling fans in the center of the room, it's still hot and humid inside. There's a lot of treadmills but everyone seems to line up for the bench press and dumbbells. There's bathrooms, water fountains, saunas and massage rooms. You have to give them your bank account information for a membership, a credit card isn't enough

Gym's pretty grimey. I counted 5 broken machines yesterday. Not sure what they're doing with the money, but it's not going into the equipment.

Its for sure what i expect for 10$ a month. I love Planet Fitness, not for anything but their price.

I think if they had a free weight barbell areas they'd lock down gyms for good at their price.
