Switched from Lifetime to Planet and could not be happier! For starters, I get greeted every time I enter and acknowledged when I leave. I have not met a single staff member who has not been friendly and helpful! The staff are always walking around, always cleaning and always available. The gym is spotless and the locker rooms are immaculate compared to every other gym I've ever been to. The people who workout at this gym are also very friendly. I have never had a bad experience. It feels like the people there are there to actually workout and not "show off" or find dates. It seems as though everyone does a good job of also picking up after themselves and wiping things down. I look forward to working out because of the atmosphere at this gym and sense of community it gives off.
And to the people complaining about things like the dress code: then go to another gym! It shouldn't come as a surprise if you get approached for wearing improper attire, slides, carrying around your gym bag, or talking on your cell phone on the gym floor. There are signs posted and rules and if you don't like them then go somewhere else!

To respond- hi, I am not your friend, I am a customer who pays to work out at planet fitness. I asked this question and about dress code policy when I signed up and was assured there was no issues. I specifically asked multiple questions as PF is heavily roasted on the internet for their lack of gym atmosphere, weird patrons and absolutely rude employees. They also complained one day for me wearing a tank top- a tank top that was four fingers wide on the strap. I would also like to add in the year I’ve been a member this is the FIRST someone has spoke to me. Besides the day I had to sign up and actually please with the gal working for a tour of the facility and then had to sign up on my own personal cell device. I guess you could also add their customer service isn’t great too.

To make it easier- La fitness is a few dollars more with way more to offer, the same goes for Vasa fitness- which are both within two miles.
Lifetime while much pricier and in the next strip mall is amazing.

Don’t waste your time supporting business who lie or treat their customers this way.

The reviews speak to the quality of the gym.
Imagine being scolded at the gym for working out. Yikes.

I saw all the bad reviews and was hesitant to go in...it is not anything like the negative reviews said. The gym is clean including the lockeroom, with friendly staff. Some of the members are not the best about wiping down the equipment however it's only a few bad seeds that I have seen. There have only been a few peices of equipment that need service, all gyms have broken equipment from time to time. The cardio equipment consists of basic bikes, stair, treadmills and elliptical machines. Plenty of free weights and machines. If your looking for a basic gym with no frills it's worth the investment.

This place is always dirty always has broken machines I come in late at night. There’s never nobody at the counter. Never nobody if you need help. God forbid somebody gets hurt. You’ll probably lay there for a couple hours. I never seen an employee inside. They must be hiding out in the back or something. Can’t even use the tanning bed. Because you can’t find no body. It’s only 2 stairmaster machines there and 1 is always broken so if I come there and the working one is taken, I have to drive to the one on Barrington Rd. I’ve done this several times . Please get more stairmasters or at least make sure that the two you have are functional. I live so much closer to this one in Bloomingdale , so this is super disappointing

PF locations are franchised, and quite honestly, you can tell by the responses, (and very consistent complaints), this particular owner only cares about one thing. Money. The only thing they want more than your money is keeping their money. Hence, no expenses on the business. It's filthy and upsetting, and adolescent labor comes cheap. It saddens me to have to post this. This was my first time at this location and I loved it, until it was spoiled by 2 ignorant employees. I had completed my workout and asked an employee at the front desk for a hydro massage bed. I was told one was opened with such attitude, it seemed like she couldn't be bothered to help. I brushed it off and enjoyed my massage. I was in the locker room putting my sweats on before going outside, and saw the 2 female employees leaving with a cleaning cart. As they walked past me, (I was the only one in the locker room), we made eye contact and I heard them snickering at me and saying "Oh my god, did you see her?" while continuing to laugh. This may see as on overreaction to some but I come to the gym to better myself, not to be ridiculed by the employees. If this was done to someone else, who knows what the severity of the situation could've caused. Especially since Planet Fitness is a "no judgment zone." This all took place from 9pm-10:15pm on 11/27/23

Wow this is by far the dirtiest PF I have ever been to. I have been a member for at least 10 years and have been to enough locations to count on two hands (including out of state) and this place is by far the worst. I have always loved how clean PF is but this place is a hot mess.
I don't mind that it's dated...yes it does need general upkeep of the walls (especially with the holes in the locker room) and it seems to need paint throughout. The baseboards need help to make it look nicer and not as raggedy. But the bigger issue is the cleanliness and it shocks me. The bathrooms are disgusting with toilet paper all over the floor, dirty stall doors, dirty sinks and garbage laying around. I've never seen anyone cleaning. I have only been here a few times and each time is no different. (I have only come here when its the most convenient location). The floors looked like they never get moped and staff just stand on their phones at the desk. Today there were about 4 people standing there and no one spoke as I scanned myself in. Upon leaving the girls were sitting on the floor behind the desk on their phones. A guest couldn't even get their attention. I personally don't need the customer service but it goes to show the lack of effort and care at this facility. Who is in charge of this place? Anyone??

What is going on? From run down equipment to dusty walls and dirty bathroom! No employees on site bathroom disgustingly dirty , weights not racked and on the floor. Been a black card member for many many years and I really hate to write this review. Came in at 3:30 AM and no one was at the counter did a two hour work out and never seen anyone who works there on site. It appeared to be unmanned . Being a guest member, you would expect employees while the business is open. It is unsafe to have a gym open with nobody to monitor the door or in case there's a health emergency . This opens up planet fitness to a large liability, if something did happen . Prior to leaving. I did do a quick check for anyone. When I left, there was zero people and employees in the business. Again I am sorry that I'm writing this, but hopefully corporate can see it.

I've been a loyal planet fitness member for over 3 years to the Schaumburg/Barrington location. However, I moved to beautiful Bloomingdale a month ago and now this place is my closest location. This place is dirty, it smells like a dirty gym bag. And the equipment is older and breaking down. The cable straps STINK! I should have known it wasn't going to be a good experience when I saw the HUGE crack in the mirror and all the finger prints. This location is alot smaller than other locations I've been to,but they have the same amount of equipment so it feels really cramped. I didn't use many machines because it was so packed with high school kids doing the free summer thing,but when I did use a machine I felt like I was right on top of the person working out next to me. Well, this place has always been just another planet fitness; nothing too special but an affordable way to get in better shape. Another plus is this location is well cleaned any time I’m there. Still, I’m starting to realize the most affordable isn’t always the way to go. Summer time means school is out and kids are given free passes, the gym is packed to the gills way more often now- this would be fine by me if these kids were treating the place like a gym, not a playground. In the past few weeks I’ve witnessed multiple kids stacked on the stair machine at once, sitting on the leg press sleds trying to push each other off (literally the last machine I was waiting on to finish my workout and they were at it for enough time I just gave up and left), slamming weights and screaming/ being distractingly loud. I know this is not the responsibility of regular staff, but a manager on the floor should seriously be addressing these things. I know it’s only for the summer, but there’s a lot of it left. Hard to get through a full, good workout with constant distractions and long wait times on benches and machines.

We'll start with the pros. They have a ton of ellipticals, treadmills, and weights. Locker rooms are clean and staff is friendly. For $10 a month, and $40 annual fee, you can't go wrong if you want a cheap place to workout but I'm going to be canceling later this year.

For the cons, stair machines are always taken. They need to add some more. Billing is done through bank accounts which is really annoying because I like the protection my credit card provides. Staff is friendly but they aren't paying attention to people. Every time I visit this gym, I see multiple people not cleaning off machines after use. Forget Covid times, it's gross overall.

I referred a friend in November 2021 and I have still not gotten my free month. It doesn't show in my app that I referred someone but I know it was done because I signed up on their phone with my referral link. I've emailed corporate (gyms are privately owned so they can't do anything) and spoke to 2 employees at the gym but still nothing. They said they'll give my information to the manager and reach out but that hasn't happened. It's the lack of communication that is irritating.

I have been a member of this club for more than 10 years. I have been paying for my membership but not going often. This changed recent,y when i started bringing my husband to motivate me to workout. Due to my work schedule, I would meet my husband at the club and on a few occasions my husband would arrive a few minutes before me. The manager from this location refused my husband to enter the facility until I would show up regardless of the fact that I would always come.When my husband called me stating that the manager does not allow him to enter I was just parking my car on the parking lot. I understand this might be a club policy; however, I believe it is unacceptable how the manager would treat me and my husband. The manager was extremely rude and for a while he refused to provide his name. Finally he told us his name, Caesar, and he immediately started threatening me to cancel my membership. I informed him that I will contact the cooperation in this matter as more members could have the same experience as I noticed him being rude and very unprofessional to other members. When asked why he is not nice to people, he stated that he does not have to be nice. It is very sad that this club might lose their members due to having a manager who is very unprofessional and rude to members. I believe that the owner of this club should be aware of this fact. On the bright side, I need to thank most other employees who have been nice greeting their members with a smile.

This place is pretty run down. Almost all their benches have holes in the material covering the foam. Their adjustable benches have exposed metal that you feel as you lay down on them. The owner or llc that owns this planet fitness really needs to spend some money and update this gym with modern equipment and BENCHES. Two stars cause it's close to my hotel.

This guy name ”Octavio cuazitl” was super rude to me for no reason. I tried asking if he was having a bad day and he said no, i tried telling him he was rude to me, and he responded and I quote ” I dont care, you can go online and make a complaint”. I coudn’t believe my ears. And that is exactly what I’m doing, this type of behavior is disgusting. If he is not happy with his job he should quit it. 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️

Run as fast as you can I cancel my contract and they still charge me 39 dollars for the quarter I had to cancel again and spoke to a guy named Caesar the guy is garage he send in a paper to my bank chase and told them that I came in on the July 11 which it was a lies so am trying to fit this issue today I spoke to a guy named Dan a manager here told me that he was going to look into and get back to me will see what happens

I love pf in Bloomingdale. The sweet girl named Jamie who works over nights is amazing! Hard working and super friendly. She has great customer service. She works super hard and always keeps the place spotless! She takes such pride in her work and i believe this hard working woman deserves a raise!!!!!
