Staff is really sweet and all the machines are new, really good with upkeep and cleanliness :) as far as gym memberships go this one really feels worth it, especially after I’ve seen other more expensive gyms in worse condition.

Based on the handful of times I’ve worked out at this lcoation, it’s pretty solid for a quick workout.

Pros: Clean, VERY large showers, lots of windows overlooking state street, and there are a few machines that I haven’t seen at other locations

Cons: Very small locker room, and the gym floor is also a bit on the smaller side, though, they make good use of the space available

Overall, much better than the Cicero location

Unfortunately, there are some very aggressive men toward women at this location. They take over several machines while doing their sets, as if they’re in a prison yard. I was even pressured not to use a machine because an aggressive man claimed he wanted to use it before me, even though he wasn’t using it or anywhere in sight when I approached it. Please address this behavior from individuals who seem to think Planet Fitness is their personal gym.

Clean, is an understatement. Locker rooms, toilet areas are always clean here. You would think there’s an attendant in the locker rooms 24/7. Speaking of staff. AMAZING. Management is nice as well. They do not act like management, they great you with a smile, and walk the floors too. I love this location. The members are nice as well, I see some of the same goers, and they are pretty respectful, everyone stays to themselves.

Great location, great hours, friendly staff, clean and working equipment. I'm glad to be part of this gym. Like any Planet Fitness, the lack of dumbbells heavier than 75lbs and the lack of barbells is disappointing. But that's PF. The gym is next to a Chinese restaurant, so we get the aroma of fresh egg rolls in certain sections. This is actually a huge plus if you like Chinese food, which I do.

Definitely recommend this gym if you live in South Loop!

Came to Chicago for few days and was looking for a welcoming and easily accessible gym with daily exercise passes. Planet fitness met all my expectations and Miguel was very helpful! The gym is clean and very well furnished. I highly recommended it!

The seated leg curl and the chest fly machines have been broken for more than 6weeks , they don’t seem to care to fix it. And the roof is always leaking, terrible management. This place is a joke.

This location is by far one of the best in the city. The environment is clean, friendly, and all of the machines are new. The lockers, showers, and lounge areas are also clean and neat. I truly enjoy facility. Staff is friendly and helpful. I like the app provides what the crowd meter is in the gym. However, every-time I come in, it’s never crowded. There are machines available, the facility is clean and there is always someone going around touching up machines by cleaning or switching out trash or cleaning spray. I don’t know everyone but they speak and always available to helpful. Kat who is the sweetest she always smiling and bubbly. Eric, the manager is friendly and asked how everything has been going at the gym(which I appreciated). I think he noticed I started coming in often. I’ve even taken advantage of the classes that are offered with Andre. I started with a design your own program in the PF app (which is awesome). This gave me an opportunity to know exactly where everything was located in the gym. Back to design your own program. Dre (Andre) asked what my fitness goals were and took time with me. I truly appreciated his time and patience. I said all that to say that this is definitely my home gym and truly enjoy the facility and staff. Lastly, unfortunately if you drive often you will have to pay for parking. The brighter side is maybe SpotHero could help with cost.

This was honestly such a frustrating and disappointing experience. I had to cancel my membership in person, but I was out of town and couldn’t make it back in time so I was still charged the annual fee. I explained everything to the general manager, Eric Buskus, hoping for a little understanding, but he couldn’t have been more indifferent. No empathy, no flexibility just kept repeating the contract like a robot. It felt like he genuinely didn’t care at all. I’ve never felt so dismissed as a paying customer. I won’t be coming back, and I definitely won’t be recommending this place to anyone.

It's brand spanking new so all of the equipment and staff are all on point, friendly and ready to help. My only gripe is they need the little silver chairs in the tanning room. I'm not so young, so hopping on one leg while taking off or putting back on my socks and pants can be a struggle at times. Highly recommended

I like it! Clean, spacious, and takes up the whole corner with ample amount of natural light which I think is the highlight of this gym. All the equipments are facing the window too so it has a nice view, especially with the Harold Washington Library. The TVs are nice, lockers are clean too. The hours were tricky but they have them on the door (took a photo!). Pretty convenient location, easily accessible via CTA/ bus, and some street parking available too. Definitely should check it out!

pretty bogus that the south loop location doesn’t have parking or discounted parking anywhere. i’ve been paying more per month for parking than my actual membership and am going to have to stop coming to this location because it’s too much :/ which really sucks because the location itself is great and i really like coming to it

edit reply to their reply: that’s not my job it’s your job as the company residing in the plaza to get adequate parking for your customers. there are countless parking lots in the surrounding area that you could work with to at least get discounted parking.

I was excited about this new location. Definitely, it lived up to my expectations. All of their equipments are new and the place is really clean. They have most recent equipments as well. I was concerned about parking and I was right there is street paid parking which is like $6 an hour. Not bad but there are other PF with their own lot.

My first experience I had to deal this rude nasty girl named Clarissa who said she was the assistant manager. First off if someone has questions, answer them and not be rude and secondly don’t yell at the customer because you trying to rush me off the phone. If you can’t answer some basic questions then You don’t need to answer the phones or be a manager.
Etiquette and respect goes along way.
This is close to my home but it’s safe to say I’ll join at a different location and she will be reported to corporate

Joined last week, process took less about 10 minutes, 20 minutes including tour. While all the employees where friendly and had smiles, the Shining Star was KAT (Kaitlyn, apologize if it’s spelled incorrectly). Kat was warm, charismatic, and personable while giving me a tour of the facilities, she also gave great tips on machines that offer full body workouts. She truly helped me feel at ease about the new location, so much so, I feel like it’s truly a home gym; and I look forward to engaging with other gym goers. Thx <3

Joined 12/30, still has that new facility smell. I love that they have what seems like an unlimited amount of treadmills. I hate that they don’t have the right type of abs equipment I like to use.

Wishing PF would do away with that crappy massage chairs and instead offer hot saunas. In any event the friendly staff are the stars at this location.

Extremely pleased with the equipment and layout! Bathroom facilities spacious with plenty of lockers, a few showers and stalls. They are still obtaining their tanning permit from the city but massage chairs are available in the spa. Great addition to the South Loop neighborhood!
