The receptionist youthful B lady who was working on Sunday 10/25/2025 around 3-4pm was rude and so unprofessional. You have one job to do, customer service, but you need more training on that. Plus you were on your phone while you talk to the place visitors. My guest and myself both had the same impression, we felt uncomfortable because of your attitude.

i just joined this club last week and i am loving it, location is perfect for me, its nice and clean every time i visited, staff is so helpful, just 2 more things i want there, first, there should be a wider and better place and machine for Pull ups there r 2 there but one of them is too close with my body and other is bit better but should be a bit higher, and second , there should be a hair dry in the changing rooms, we need that in winter time specially , if these r possible

While a bit small, this location uses its two-floor space efficiently and has everything you need. There's a large variety of cardio equipment, decent strength offerings, and the staff is friendly (shout-out to John at the front desk!). I also appreciated the soap provided in the showers!

The Black Card area is equipped with Hydro and regular massage chairs, a red light therapy booth, and lay-down tanning.

DONT JOIN!!! I jointed this place two months and I workout 5 days a week, the AC hasn't been working except for 3 days out of that time. Someone is going to pass out and get hurt at this place when it's mid 80s in the building but management doesn't care. U ask the manager about it and he said he requested someone to fix it but they aren't showing.... Then find someone else! The employees are going to start walking out also, they told me to write a bad review on here so that's what l'm doing. This place is a joke

One staff member, John, threatened me to cancel my membership just because I hurt my toes and couldn't wear a closed toe shoe on my left foot.

So I am a regular here from past 5+ years !!

I recently tried to look around for alternatives and joined another gym as well. If you go and read their reviews, most of them are sharp negatives. I was kinda impressed very limited negative comment for my gym in here.

Having said that, I almost left this gym back in 2022, coz one of your employee was super rude, she moved on and I never had any issue as such with you folks.

Yea AC is real issue as someone noted, I think at peak hours evening time, you guys should turn on the AC even if other times you wont !!

Other than that compared to other gyms, I have been recently, this place is convenient + use of space to place gym equipment are top notch, we got 3 squat rack in here from 2 in that small space is shocking !! Very well done !!

I think the right second floor can be more developed and I have very few complaints with this place, will be keeping both gym membership incase quality dips here can move around.

Summary: Location is small and hot. Lockers require a lock.

This gym is conveniently located near the Magnificent Mile and many hotels. Considering its location, it would seem that a bigger gym with more equipment and lockers with built-in locks would be a good idea, especially considering the flack that a gym-goer got about personal items last month (also an out-of-towner).

What was particularly disappointing was the temperature in the gym. Half the gym was an okay temperature for working out, but the half of the gym that contained the biggest equipment was blazing hot.

In the end I was able to get in a workout, but it wasn’t a great experience. I’ll probably jump to a different gym in my network next time.

The best part about having planet fitness black card membership. Even when you're phone battery dies, you'll be able to walk in many planet fitness and charge your phone so you can continue to take a picture..

For parking:

Enter the parking structure just to the left of the entrance to planet fitness (city front plaza). There is no gate to let you through because the parking structure takes a picture of your license plate and that automatically starts your timer. When you get into planet fitness there is a little iPad and you enter your license plate to validate your parking. You get 70 minutes of free parking. Did this today and had absolutely no issues.

Gym is clean and I always find staff to be very welcoming. Probably had a little bit less equipment than other suburban planet fitness’ because it is in the city…but in general has everything you will need. The 3 smith machines are almost always in use and there’s no bar cover if your doing hip thrusts so I used a yoga mat but you may want to bring your own cushion!

The facility is clean. I travel for work and go to 100's. I walked here with a cover-up on. Started lifting and took my cover up off, and laid it with my water bottle. Employee told me "policy" was I couldn't have my shirt on the floor, or lay anything on the equipment. NEVER at any other place, can you not take off your cover-up or place your towel on the equipment you use. Then, said employee, walks over and starts cleaning equipment, takes off his jacket, and lays it on the ledge. I asked him how he could place his jacket on the ledge, but my shirt couldn't be on the floor with my water bottle next to me. Place might be clean, but your "policy" isn't Planet Fitness policy.

Asked for the GM's number, and they "didn't know it." Absolute worst customer friendly staff. PF is starting to get a really bad name for places just like this. You say "Judgment Free Zone" while you have a judgment of "lunks" posted on your walls.

Your posted policy says "No bags on the gym floor," which I didn't have. It's in the locker room. You don't want people to take off an over shirt or cover up you better have it posted and agree with the corporate guidelines.

Absolute joke!

Update: At 8 AM, I was told the GM would be here no later than 9. 9:30, and no GM. PF, maybe you should vet your franchise owners/management a little better 😉

This is my go-to gym, and I often recommend it to my friends. However, my recent experience was disappointing. My brother wanted to use the *Total Body Enhancement* machine, but the staff member at the front desk seemed unfamiliar with it. We had to repeat ourselves multiple times just to get access.

Once my brother started using the machine, he noticed how intensely bright the light was and asked if any eye protection was available. Only then did the staff member mention, *"Oh yeah, you have to buy one."* This lack of proactive information and training is frustrating.

Staff should be knowledgeable about the equipment—not just how to turn it on and off. It’s disappointing to see such a lack of preparation, especially for a gym I visit regularly. Hoping for better service in the future!

I went to the gym today where it said I was entitled to one hour of free parking. When I got there, I tried to access the elevator to get to the gym floor, but to access it I needed a key. I called the gym to ask for help and understand how it worked, and the employee who helped me didn't know how to explain it to me and even said, "I come to work by subway, so I can't help you." I think it's a total disregard for the customer to go to a place where the employee doesn't even try to understand how the gym's facilities work to help their customers. I'll never go back.

I have been coming here for a couple of years but lately the workers do not clean well enough. There are several times that I find the water machine very dirty. There are times when I forget my water bottle like today and I want to refresh myself but I do not feel like drinking water. When I see that, hours can pass and they are on the phone. The workers before kept the place cleaner. I told them that it was dirty and their response was that I had to bring my water bottle and they continued on the phone.

They recently added a few more machines in the upstairs loft areas. Now there's barely any space to put down a mat to stretch or do floor exercises. First of all I have to say that the new CEO for Planet Fitness is doing a phenomenal job! The new equipment at the Streeterville location is beyond satisfying. I recently visited Planet Fitness while on a business trip, and it was perfect for staying on track with my fitness routine. Oh god! This has to be the worse PF I’ve visited. The equipment is fine but I’m all about cleaning up after my workouts. The lockeroom was nasty! The showers weren’t clean, they didn’t have changing rooms so after showering in their nasty shower I had to go into the handicap restroom to dress because where else would I do it? Extremely poorly managed and highly unprofessional gym. Unsanitary, deceitful, and under supplied.

I worked with the GM to find a way to try the gym once. He explained that their location does not offer a complimentary experience to try the gym but rather that a day pass cost $20 (two months of a membership fee). He proceeded to tell me that a Black Card Membership would be $5.12 due today and I could cancel same day and have "no further charges".

He proceeded to cancel my membership after experiencing the gym for the day. I have a signed cancellation document from the GM himself.

Days later I received the full Black Card Membership fee of $25.50 automatically withdrawn from my checking account. I am away from the location that I signed up at and went on to politely speak to the GM where I am traveling. The two employees spoke on speaker phone and the Streeterville employee told this General Manager that I am a high risk, fraudulent, scamming member. Wow. Not only am I charged for a Black Card Membership, I cannot use my membership because I am apparently cancelled?

It is shameful for Planet Fitness employees to label their paying customers as such when they were conned by their own general managers. I would suggest better education for employees, a more modern operating system, and ANY other gym than this.

Over the last month, the gym has failed to open on 5 occasions on time. Currently 2 hours over the “opening” time and no staff. Direct reflection on management. Air condition has not worked well in over 2 years. I've been a member of this club for almost a year now.

I recently had spine surgery amd my condition is very delicate; I can't move out of my bed right now. I called today to try to cancel my membership and the person I talked to said "I am sorry, but we are not allowed to cancel over the phone, it is our policy". Where is the humanity? Where is the sensibility towards your own customers? Where is the understanding?

When you say, "we understand your situation, but" you actually don't understand, you have no idea of what I've gone through, and now you are putting more obstacles in front of me. Shame on you! Just got a membership last week and was able to get a pretty nice experience so far! The gym’s size is small so it sometimes feels like more people are in there than you think (for those that check the crowd meter). It also seems not all the machines are on for use since they are used to a smaller crowd. The gym gets hot since there’s no AC (big fan only) and the bathrooms could used some upgrades (water barely comes out sink, only 1 hand dryer works, etc). Other than these things, it’s a pretty decent starter gym.

You can easily join a club without even showing your face but in order to cancel your membership you are required to come into the gym to do so or send a hand written letter. I've been to multiple Planet Fitnesses in Chicago as I have a premium membership and this one is by far the worst. The equipment is extremely old and often broken for long periods of time. For example, the chest machine has been broken for over a month now and staff doesn't know when it will be repaired. Additionally, the gym is dirty. Paper towels all over the ground everywhere.

“Judgement free zone” as long as you’re not interested in bodybuilding whatsoever. If you’re muscular and wear a tank top, and god forbid drink a protein shake, you’re not welcome. No real squat racks (just smith machines).

Why are there no decent weightlifting gyms in streeterville? Will I ever deadlift again? Someone needs to start a gym that is ACTUALLY inclusive and a judgement free zone that allows people of all sizes and levels of seriousness to lift and praise the muscle gods.

This place has no AC or ventilation. Is totally suffocating and it smells like feet and armpits, I almost vomited there. The staff are rude and always talking to each other, not acknowledging any customer or any concerns about the awful smell

Streeterville is small, but mighty. Brian, Steven, Christian, Leslie, and Greg work hard, keep it professional, give great advice, and really make me feel welcome. Brian gives excellent training advice; on Progressive overload, plyometrics, on point nutritional advice, and communicates concepts effectively. I appreciate that the staff is proactively cleaning even post Covid! Excellent customer service, great advices, and inviting atmosphere. I hope they are paying their employees enough, because talent like this deserves a raise!
