The club is very nice, the crew is continuously refilling, the bottles and the paper. The only disappointment is, there’s been a bicycle, broken for at least three weeks, and there is also another machine that is broken down( for arms) and there is only one of those machines and only five bikes it would be great if they could get those up and running again as people are waiting for these machines and some of us workout before work, so we are on a time limit

I chose this gym because it is supposed to be 24h and I only come to use the treadmill, it is the only thing I come to and when they clean they lift all the machines and do not let members like me use them, I am paying for the most expensive subscription to come and use these machines and I can not use them? they should plan this better or talk to the employees of the night so that they do not deny the service to anyone!! Use to come here for years with no problem. Then I started seeing weird things go on like the night shift worker flirting with girls (including minors). From reading the other reviews I see that I’m not the only one who noticed this. Same worker randomly started harassing me and kicked me out multiple times for stupid shit like having a backpack. Perhaps he saw the weird looks I would give him when he was constantly talking to girls. I was reached out by a manager and was told “if you come back we’ll give you 2 free months”. Yea thanks for the help lol.

As a longtime proud customer of Planet Fitness, it pains me to say that this establishment has become a locus of discrimination and racism. For years, my P.O.C. (Person of Color) friend and I visited Planet Fitness during the night shift, as our busy schedules only allowed us to work out after midnight. After a long day's work, we expected a pleasant and calm workout experience, and for a long time, that's what we received.

However, I eventually noticed one of the night crew workers giving us a look I can only describe as "I don't like your kind." When I mentioned this to my friend, he suggested I might be reading too much into it, as I sometimes do, so we carried on as if nothing was wrong.

About a year ago, I was sick and unable to accompany my friend to the gym. He called me, shaken, saying he'd been kicked out for not having "proper footwear" and was accused of ignoring repeated warnings from this worker. I had been with my friend every other time, and no such warning had ever been issued. I've seen unhoused individuals in the gym with shoes literally falling apart at the seams, soles flapping, and this worker said nothing to them. As a strong ally to the unhoused, I support their presence, but the double standard was jarring. Notably, this worker never treated my friend this way when I was present.

Recently, I forgot my water bottle in the car and stepped out to retrieve it as my friend entered the gym. As I returned, I saw the same worker verbally accosting my friend, a look of pure disdain on his face. My friend tried to de-escalate, but the worker continued his tirade. Eventually, my friend was told to leave, again accused of "improper footwear," despite his shoes fully covering his toes, the supposed issue from the previous incident. As we left, we looked through the window and saw multiple people working out in sandals, with no apparent issue.

My friend downplayed the situation, suggesting we could go to another location, but I refused. I will not stand for this injustice or this blatant racial discrimination, which would not be out of place 70 years ago. I won't be a bystander. Planet Fitness must address this. We need to make it clear that racism will not stand in 2025.

My 16 year old daughter went to work out at 4:00 AM with her aunt. The male employee at the front desk engaged in flirtatious behavior toward her. This is entirely inappropriate, especially toward a minor. I'm giving this location 2 stars because I do like the gym MOST of the year. Staff is great, although could be a little more proactive about reminding people not to talk so loudly on their phones when in the gym and on machines, but normally there are no issues. However, summertime with the SummerPass program for teens makes going to the gym stressful.
I'll check the crowd-meter before arriving at the gym...two bars is ideal, three makes it a little more difficult to get all the machines I want but generally not terrible. But four, five, and six is awful and that's what it's been since the Summer program started again. Not at all hours of the day, of course, but in the late afternoons and evenings - when most people are coming from work, it's now crazy crowded and mostly with the teens that are there for FREE.
For the teens who are there to actually work out I have no issues with them, but sadly, many teens go there just to hang out. They aren't respectful of the paying members, running or skipping thru the gym, loud, not carrying that they're in the way of others, breaking machines, etc. It's always during the summer when the 'out of order' signs start to accumulate on the machines.
I think it's a good thing to teach kids how to work out and be healthy, but that only works if they take it seriously. And the staff doesn't seem to police the ones who are just there 'playing.'
I understand that PF is doing this to try to get future memberships, but what they're doing is risking current, PAYING members leaving - which is what I'm considering doing.
There should be a limit to how many people are allowed in the gym at a time, and how many teens are allowed in at a time - and it should be monitored better. The paying members are the ones keeping those doors open, are they not? Their comfort and convenience should matter but it certainly doesn't feel like it.
There should also be times blocked out for the after work crowd to be able to come in and do what they're PAYING to do.

Staff here is great. Super friendly and always makes me feel welcome. Most know me by name. Being greeted with a smile every time I walk in, is one of the highlights of my day. Equipment is always clean. Love the new machines. The only 2 complaints i have is there are not nearly enough stairmasters, and the non-enforcement of members putting equipment away.

PF is a great alternative to expensive gyms. It's clean and maintained. It has tanning beds, if that's your thing. When things break, they are repaired in a week or two, not like LA some thing, that machines down for months at a time. It's more utilitarian gym than a social hot spot, like my old cross fit place, so expect to just get a work out in and not a baby club. The two things I complained about on their app, both got resolved, so I like the place.

Overall this is a really good intermediate gym if you aren’t looking for anything specialty. What I like is everything always works, it’s clean, well staffed, and has just about everything possible to get a decent workout in a short time.
It’s a little crowded and sardined canned which is expected in Chicago and it’s January at a gym. Still the best value for any gym around. One only significant downside is there isn’t much of a “community” feel there but it’s a sign of the times not representative of the gym. Good people just not the camaraderie of a smaller private gym.

Great gym. Clean. It is just very sad that planet fitness allows unsupervised children to play on the equipment. I've seen multiple occasions where they were attempting to lift weights in a jerking and spine twisting way. I forsee a child becoming paralyzed. It's the parents responsibility, but it's also planet fitness's to put policies in place to prevent something so obviously dangerous.

It is commendable that Planet Fitness offers free summer membership for teenagers; however, it would be beneficial for Corporate to implement a time restriction, such as 12 pm to 6 pm, to ensure a balanced gym experience for all paying members. This would provide paying customers with the opportunity to workout during less crowded hours, reducing the inconvenience caused by large groups (30+)of teenagers distracted on their phone occupying machines for over 15 mins and leaving equipment scattered on the floor around the gym causing fall hazards. Additionally, considering the current prevalence of contagious skin infections that can be found on gym equipment like Ringworm and Staph, it would be prudent to encourage teenagers to wipe down equipment after use, as observed more frequently among adult members.
The staff at this location is wonderful but we can't expect them to be cleaning up after all these teens who were given a free membership without restrictions.

Location- it's close to me but more important it is centrally located by businesses that I use. Second, the machines or equipment are top line and they are always clean and working. Third the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to make ones workout a good experience. Lastly, the web site has been very helpful to me. It is informative and it answers most any question that you have, The site has programs and info on fitness and routines that is extremely helpful. Joining PF is and was a no brainer!

The Weekday Morning staff here are ROCKSTARS!! Always greeting everyone, constantly deep cleaning, sanitation stations are kept fully stocked. Which is super important, since it's still cold and flu season. Plus, no one likes other peoples sweat.
Now the Weekend crew here is NOT good! Faces in their phones, zero acknowledgement, dirty restrooms, trash cans over flowing. Asked a young blonde gentleman if he had any paper towels, since 3 machines were empty. His response was to ask me if ALL the machines were empty. Idk if every machine in the gym was out, but a client having to walk to 3 empty sanitation stations should be enough to get off your phone and refill.
I highly recommend this Foster location once the weekend crew is retrained, as the weekday teams keep this place clean and functional for everyone.

Not only that, but customer service did not welcome me, as the guy looked at me and looked away. Guess he’s never seen a Hispanic before. Oh he was white!
