This is seriously the worst PF location I’ve ever visited. I drive to another location even though this one is two blocks away because it’s that disgusting. Equipment is broken for months on end, half the lockers in the women’s room are broken and have been that way since last year, the entire place is FILTHY. It seriously looks as if no floors have ever been mopped. There’s even dirt smudges on the walls and missing trim.

When they said they were getting new equipment, this PF didn’t disappoint. I had gotten used to the setting on the older treadmills, but the new Matrix ones are just as good and maybe even better. They’re definitely an upgrade, and they make my cardio feel smoother. Can’t wait to see what else this location has in stock, besides the great staff and amazing workout environment.

Sooo here I am again. I was excited for the new equipment to finally come in after months of complaining about the broken ones & nothing got fixed. I love the new treadmills and stair masters. However, they took out all the equipment in the 30 minute workout room. It was replaced with Smith Machines and more weights. I'm not sure who's idea that was but everybody doesn't want to lift weights. Smh Many people like myself relied on the 30 min room. It was very convenient, especially if you want to get in and get out. So I had to look on the main floor to find the equipment that I use in the 30 min room, and they were all being used. I drive about 15/20 minutes to come to this specific gym at least 4/5 days a week. Due to this inconvenience of the 30 min room, I'll be now driving to the 95th St location in Evergreen Park. (Longer drive) I really wish you all would've just upgraded the machines in the yellow room instead of taking everything out. This upsets me because I've been coming to this gym for over five years if not longer. Good luck PF!! ✌🏼

I usually enjoy Planet Fitness, but this location really missed the mark. Several of the fitness floor lights have been out for about a year now, which has made the gym look gloomy and uninviting — not the kind of atmosphere you want when trying to get motivated for a workout. On top of that, the temperature inside was uncomfortably cold, both on the floor and especially in the men’s locker room and another repeat offense. It has made going to this location unpleasant. I even have a photo that clearly shows the poor lighting conditions. Management really needs to address these issues — lighting and temperature are basic comfort factors that shouldn’t be overlooked and are NOT difficult to maintain. It’s not rocket science. Until things improve, I’ll be avoiding this location and so should everyone else.

Tanning rooms, 5 and 6 are always dirty. They don't clean the walls. They will not mop the floors every day. Stuff on the walls been there for weeks, I've complained several times and it's never cleaned. Always ask for a manager. Nothing ever happens.

There is glass in the parking lot frequently and the facility could use some TLC/upgrades. Not sure how this club has 4 stars. If I could give it negative stars, I would. By far the worst location I’ve ever been to across the 20 or so locations I’ve been to thus far. This location fails to meet even the bare minimum of standards in terms of cleanliness, maintenance, and care. Bathrooms/lockers are disgusting and atrocious. Half of the machines are consistently broken and failed to “repair” for weeks or months only for them to break again a week later. Seems they can’t afford to pay the electric bill either because the lighting is horrendous and half of the lights are off 100% of the time. For whatever reason, there always seems to be broken and shattered glass in the parking lots too??? Not sure if the owner of this club is plain broke or simply does not care to maintain the club. Equipment is hanging by a thread (literally the ropes are so abused they’re hanging by a thread). Just in general, the club gives an ICK and feels generally dirty. No shade against the employees either. I genuinely think the owner does not care one single bit. Either way, they’d be better off permanently closing this dump. It’s a shame because the location is prime, but seriously, do not come here.

Trash all over facility, broken equipment, graffiti all over, cut lock holes on large amount of lockers, bathroom smells of urine, etc. Ive been to a lot of planet fitness locations in Chicagoland. North side, south side, west side, suburbs on each direction. Not exaggerating, this is the facility I'll likely peg to not come back. Whatever is being done to renovate needs to be evaluated because it either isnt working or there's a general lack of effort to make the facility better. The neighborhood deserves better and how many people just deal with it daily because they don't say something? Get exemptions in place if you need to be stricter about markings on the wall. Take loans to fix broken equipment like the benches that have the seats falling off. Do something. Do better.

I've been coming here for YEARS! This PF needs to update their equipment. The women's bathroom always smells like mold and sewer. There's a toilet broken in there right now, toilet paper always on the floors, blood on the seats, toilet paper holders don't work. The stair machines are ALWAYS broken, which 3 out of the 4 are broken right now!! The stairs to the left feels like they're cracked and caving in. Seats on machines are loose and wobbly. Padding on the equipment is ripping off. A lot of the treadmills don't work. Sometimes the numbers fade in and out, cup holders missing, pieces are hanging off the treadmills. There's several machines out of order NOT including the stairs. The equipment is really outdated which is why I like to attend other PF gyms when I can. On the weekends the gym is completely disgusting. There's never any paper towels or working bottles at the stations or they're empty. The staff doesn't clean very well or at all especially the women's bathroom. (Weekends) During the week, there's a lot of cleaning going on. It's always hot in there especially in the smaller room in the back next to the treadmills. The parking lot is not lit very well at night or early morning. There was a homeless man who approached my vehicle while it was dark outside (early morning) asking for money. I had to stay in my car for over 20 minutes until I seen that he left the area. Several cars have been broken into, there's no cameras or lights in the lot. There's always broken glass in the parking lot spaces that don't get swept up. Not to mention Pete's customers are always taking the parking spots for PF. Anytime I've mentioned broken equipment to the staff, they just say "it's getting fixed." But it's been several weeks and those stairs along with the other equipment still are not fixed. 😒Please replace those with the newer versions. Thanks!!

I am so tired of this gym. I actively commute to the Avondale location because that should be the exemplar for Planet Fitness. The Cermak location always has machines out of service and the layout just makes no sense at all. The ab and stretching section is practically non existent nor is there an equipment rack for mats. Again, the Avondale is the exemplar. The cermak location should take notes from Avondale as they have added ring bells for customers to alert workers that the towel dispensers need to be replenished. There are so many dispensers that are constantly empty and it’s frustrating when the standard is set to be so low. This location has lots of work to do and I’m not sure what kind of leadership they have to set an example to the rest of staff.

Really big issue with theft in this location, lockers got ransacked and we lost our wallet along with other members, what's the point of even having a lock on it if people can just sneak in pliers and cut the locks?

Suggestion to the owner: please, put the lockers along side of the wall at the entrance to locker rooms so your cameras can actually record everyone accessing them because this issue is rampant at this point.

Went here yesterday to gwt a quick workout in. They have a ton of ellipticals, bikes and treadmills. Very few machines and several were out of order. The spray bottles are chained down, quite a few were empty and remained empty the 2 hours I was there, and 2 of the paper towel dispensers were empty during that time as well.

A lot of people babysitting the machines by just sitting on them and being on their phones. Had to ask several people to let me knock out my 3 sets

I've visited 4 different Planet Fitness locations, and this one is by far the worst I've experienced.

Cleanliness & Maintenance Issues:
The gym consistently feels dirty and poorly maintained. Equipment often has visible grime, and basic cleaning standards aren't being met.

Equipment Condition:
Many machines show signs of wear and aren't properly maintained. This creates both safety concerns and frustration when you can't complete your workout.

Customer Service:
The staff appears disengaged and uninterested in helping members. There's a noticeable lack of customer service training and genuine care for the member experience. This may be caused by low wages(I wouldn't care to provide quality customer service if I was getting underpaid) or improper training, no way to know.

Overall Experience:
While Planet Fitness markets itself as a judgment-free zone, the poor maintenance and indifferent staff create an unwelcoming environment. Having experienced other Planet Fitness locations that maintain much higher standards, I know this franchise can do better.

I hope management will address these issues, as the concept is good but the execution needs significant improvement.

Review for Planet Fitness - Urgent Concern About Bathroom Cleanliness

I’ve been a member at this Planet Fitness location for some time, but the state of the men’s restroom has become completely unacceptable. The bathrooms are consistently dirty and unhygienic, with graffiti, including gang signs, covering the walls. Despite multiple complaints to management, nothing has been done to address this recurring issue.

It’s disappointing to see a facility that promotes a “Judgment Free Zone” neglect such basic cleanliness and hygiene standards. Members should not have to deal with filthy conditions in a gym that we pay to use. I have no choice but to post photos online in hopes of finally getting some action taken.

I strongly urge immediate attention to the hygiene and safety of the men’s restroom. Corporate Planet Fitness, please take responsibility and fix this issue before it gets worse.

I’m from out of town and traveling, pulled into this Planet Fitness. FYI It’s kind of in a sketchy neighborhood. The men’s locker room is small and dirty. The inside of the lockers were dirty, rusty and smelly. Once I locked my stuff in my locker, I noticed that people had pulled on the top of the locker door and bent it open in order to get inside of it. I didn’t feel safe leaving my belongings lock in the locker So I packed up and left.

The walls and floor looked nasty! There was standing water in one of the changing rooms. maquinas de hacer ejercicio que no sirven,tambien las 4 regaderas de los baños de los hombres todo el dia tirando agua,tambien el piso siempre esta mojado lo que va a pasar un dia es que ocurra una desgracia que alguien se resbale y se golpe la cabeza al salirse de bañarse y tambien e mirado en los cuartos de vestir hay basura e notado que es la misma basura por dias aparte de que tambien aveces esta mojado el piso y los cerrojos de las puertas no sirven no se pueden cerrar,les e reclamado varias veces a los miembros del staff pero no hacen nada al rato no me van a dejar pasar me van a bloquear mi pase de entrada por eso ya mejor recurri a escribir esto a ver si el dueño o el manager miran estos problemas yo siempre e ido al horario de 6:00 pm a 8:30pm en el año del 2013 al 2016 que es el tiempo que e durado mas en venir habia un manager y sus compañeros mantenian limpias todas las maquinas y aparatos limpios todos los dias tambien aspiraban y mapeaban el piso todos los dias y los vestidores de los hombres en perfectas condiciones muy limpio todo tu los mirabas haciendo eso,hoy de plano ese local esta hecho un asco no e mirado a alguien del staff con aquella aspiradora que se ponian en la espalda y se ponian aspirar o de perdida limpiar una maquina manual o maquina electrica, tienen que hacer algo porque si no la gente va a dejar de venir,este es un llamado al dueño o manager encargado del local de la villita que pongan cartas en el asunto gracias

Tiene como 4 días y el aire acondicionado no funcionaba, los baños por tarde noche parecen chiqueros y el gerente no estaba . Pedí al joven q estaba donde podría poner las quejas y no me fío la información. Es un asco el GYM de Cermak rd. Rockwell

They sure like being Sticklers for rules about the whole taking five minutes to check you and your guest in for a gym than has a third of their treadmills out of order for the past 2 months. The heating situation is a mess where half of the days they don't have air conditioning and more than 10 lockers are broken on the men's side.
If there was ANY alternative at all by the place I live I would drop them in a heartbeat.

This is a nice gym as it's close to my job. That's what made me give it 3 stars. However, it's way too hot in there. They need to turn the air on. I don't care if it's 90° one day then 70° the next; the air needs to be on. It's unbearable and stuffy in there. I also have asthma, and thick air makes it challenging to breathe. I don't want to stop coming, but I might have to until the weather cools. It's ridiculous that it's hotter in there than outside.

Disappointed with Planet Fitness: Uncomfortable Workout Environment (Little Village)
* Unbearably Hot: I recently visited Planet Fitness and was disappointed to find the gym lacking air conditioning. The thermostat reading 86 degrees made the workout uncomfortable and downright unpleasant. It is going on week 2 without a proper climate. I have contacted the management and spoke with Dylan and all he keeps saying is, it is "getting fixed" but now on week 2 I'm questioning if it really is getting fixed.
* Limited Equipment: Several machines were broken and unusable, which significantly limited my workout options. A broken water fountain also added to the inconvenience. Also there are no paper towels to properly clean the equipment, which is a health violation. This is the 4th time this has happened in the past year.
* Overall Impression: The inoperable equipment and lack of air conditioning made my workout experience frustrating. For the price, I expect a clean, well-maintained gym with a comfortable safe environment.

Edit: as of July 9 the air-conditioning is broken AGAIN! It was finally fixed after 3 weeks of 85 degree plus temperatures inside the gym. It lasted less than a week until it was broken again. Now it is leaking all over the place and they had to turn it off. This is completely unacceptable.

Great value for classic membership if you just need a place to lift weights and cardio. Be warned any weekday between 730 Am-10am and 4-8PM is obnoxious to get on any equipment. You'll need to add 30 minutes to your workout in waiting.

if you are able to get yourself to the gym outside those blocks you will be satisfied.

Most bad reviews are really expecting alot for a place that charges 10 bucks a month...

The ac is broken for about a week. Both legs extensions don’t work . Laying hamstring machine doesn’t work , 6-8 treadmills don’t work. Even the hand blow dryer in men’s washroom doesn’t work…. Y’all make too much money to not have these issues fixed in a couple days …

Le falta mucho mantenimiento al equipo y en ocasiones las maquinas duran fuera de servicio por semanas,no está limpio y no engrasan las maquinas tampoco,el manager necesita echarle mas ganas, se ve claramente que nunca le han dado mantenimiento, ya aparece el moho!!

Usually like going to this gym but it has been 80+ degrees inside there for days now. No cold air. Extremely unpleasant experience when it’s so hot and humid outside and you go inside and it’s even hotter. It has actually actively discouraged me from wanting to go to the gym because of how exhausting the heat in here is.

Please hire more staff so that this location (Little Village) can be open 24/7. It sucks that it closes at 9 on Friday then 7a-7p Saturday AND Sunday. I’ll even apply if need be 😩

I've visited 53 gyms in the USA + 8 in 3rd world countries, and this is by far the filthiest gym I've seen in my life, the only one I've ever left a review. Showers stinks to urine, some showers doesn't work, some faucets doesn't work, some equipments doesn't work, shower curtain rod fell down... And I came early morning, the time in the day they're supposed to be the cleanest. Completely disgusted by this sty.
