I’m flying in for a funeral tomorrow and I can’t check into my hotel until 4 pm, so I called the Crestwood facility to see how I check into another Planet Fitness utilizing my Black Card membership. The sweetest voice answered the phone! Haley was extremely knowledgeable and helpful! She patiently answered my many questions! She went as far as familiarizing me with various stores that I could buy essentials during my stay!

This gym is not good because of the employer are don’t care about the work and its not clean. Every gym employer when we login they are welcome or have a good workout but this gym employee don’t care and also when you scan the your QR code they don’t look that. Particularly the KIDS who sit on the machines scrolling instead of working out! 🙄😒 I can do a whole 4 sets with adequate rest and someone is still hoggin the machine I need. I'm unsure about how I feel about Crestwood Planet Fitness. They do not honor the 1 day Guest Pass, and I'm in the process of figuring out what gym is right for me since I've moved to this side of town. They do not honor a military discount, and they do not accept cash for a 1 day visit. For those who are trying to figure out if Planet Fitness is right for you, you have to do your homework on which Planet Fitness you will attend.

This particular location is a little more cozy than the others I've been too. I was still able to get in a good workout with the short time frame I had that day. Pretty clean but the equipment seemed pretty close to each other, in particular the treadmills. I don't know if that's changed since the last time I've been there. Other than that, it's decent gym located in a convenient spot.

I have been a member of some very nice gyms. I just located back to the area and have had a hard time finding something that is both nice and affordable. I never really looked at planet fitness because I felt that it wouldn’t be as nice as what I’m used to, but I was in Crestwood running some errands and decided to stop in here to take a look. I was meant by Halee, who was very happy to immediately give me a tour she didn’t make me feel like I was bothering her or encroaching on what she was doing. She very patiently explained each area to me in a very orderly fashion. I was very happy with the tour. She gave me. She was very nice and welcoming. I was surprised to learn that they have a red light room and they also have my favorite hip thrust machine I would’ve signed up at that very moment, but I want to sign up under my daughter for the referral. I am looking forward to making this my home gym. I enjoyed the vibe and Halee is definitely a great addition to the reason that I would like to join.

One of the white girls on the staff made me leave for wearing crocs on an upper body day. wasn’t aware it was policy because i have worn crocs many times before to this location. I walked past the front when checked in and wasn’t told there. The people at the front desk see me there a lot and never said anything. Just thought the white girl mopping the floor who told me to leave was the one to point it out. Could have told me next time to make sure to bring different shoes and I would’ve listened but she told me “You have to leave” very rudely

I joined when it was a 24-hour facility, but with the new hours. This change has been quite challenging for me.

Additionally, I've noticed that the policy against bags on the gym floor is not being enforced, despite the availability of lockers. This inconsistency, along with frequent occurrences of dropped weights and loud grunting, seems to go unaddressed by staff.

Moreover, I've observed that some staff members spend a lot of time on their phones, which impacts their ability to maintain essential supplies like paper towels and disinfectant. As someone who values professionalism, I find this concerning.

I understand that not all staff members may exhibit these issues, but even one person's actions can affect the overall perception of the gym.

Despite these concerns, I believe the gym has tremendous potential. The investment in new machines clearly shows the commitment to providing a great facility for members.

The staff is so friendly and nice. I've tried a few different gyms in my life, but none of them have made me feel as welcomed and comfortable as Planet does. I've been coming here for almost 2 years and this gym has helped me lose over 120lbs. They are also getting a ton of new equipment lately and doing a bunch of upgrades. Also, they don't have any annoying "trainers" that try to recruit you and pressure you like other gyms. I'm so grateful for this place and their wonderful staff.

Hate to even give it 1 star but I had to.
My coat was stolen from my locker on 11/20 I went to the front desk to report it to staff that was working which was James who then told me to go to the police station and file a report and then planet fitness could review the cameras! Absolutely no help and it’s a 30 degree weather night. Great job supporting your loyal customers Planet Fitness Crestwood!!

I like the gym and the location. It is however very aggravating that staff regularly shows up late to open the gym in the morning (both weekend and during the week). Sometimes as late as 30 minutes last the opening time. Members end up leaving because no one shows up.

It was my first time going to a gym . Upon entering I was nervous of being fat shamed but absolutely no one was bothered with me.. they were all minding their own business. Great atmosphere clean and very easy to use equipment. The lady at the front desk was nice and welcoming. I only did the treadmill and thigh machine and I was tired after only 30 minutes when I left. Day one. I will return tomorrow. Pleasantly surprised. Oh and all the machines are facing the same direction so nobody is like staring at you. Love it already.

After my last review of the men's restroom. I have come in today to see the men's restroom is clean. Smells really nice. Floor is clean enough you could almost eat off it (not recommending that anyone try). It is a big difference from yesterday and the week before. Good job to whoever cleaned but now we have to keep it going like this. More than once a day. But I like to give credit where credit is deserved. Keep it going!!

OK, so I've now been going to this planet fitness for a while, but I'm a black card member and I checked out a few more in the area... Specifically Oak Lawn and Calumet Park's locations, so I have a better idea of what they all have. I'm rating all three in this review.

This one and the one in oak lawn close early on weekends, but calumet park stays open 24/7. So point for calumet...

All three have good parking right in front, but calumet's parking lot lights don't seem to come on til sometime between 730 pm and 9 pm. It was difficult to park when I got to calumet at 730 (in autumn) and couldn't see any lines... And it was kind of scary as a woman... But it was super bright when I left at 9, so that was a relief. So point for the other two on this one. (Plus, lines are beyond faded at calumet park... ).

Tvs are smallest at calumet, but they have two more tvs (ie one more channel) than the other two. The tvs are far from the treadmills, so you may need glasses. Also Crestwood has two tvs that are burnt out... So I think oak lawn is the winner here.

Treadmills are basic PF treadmills at oak lawn and Crestwood, but have various programmed options at calumet... So point to calumet for treadmills.

Strengthening machines... The oak lawn and calumet park have rep counters and timers on their machines so you know how long you've been using the machine or how many reps you've done. Super handy if you're listening to music and forget your count. Crestwood doesn't have this feature so point to the other two.

And what I do most there... Stretching. Calumet park has a stretching room but the yoga mats are pre covid mats, meaning the long squishy purple ones. Oak Lawn and Crestwood have the new shorter, wider, firmer grey mats with the two plastic holes on one side. I had wondered what the holes were for... Oak Lawn hangs them on the wall... That's what the holes were for. Crestwood and oak lawn also have an extra TV near where the mats are where a timer is constantly going off while showing someone stretching. I use that timer all the time to stretch while listening to music. At Crestwood, youre in this one side room with equipment so it's a bit awkward tossing your mat in a corner and stretching and the lights are super bright in your eyes (when stretching on your back). But there's usually only a couple people there so you don't feel like you shouldn't stretch there. At oak lawn, the TV is in this other kind of play pen area with a multi use machine... I took my mat there and did my stretches. On one hand, I felt like a rebel taking the mat somewhere else, but the short wall kinda hid me from view and no one was really in that area, so I felt I could do really weird stretches and challenge myself if I wanted. Calumet has a stretching room, but no TV and no clock anywhere that I could see... So I had to use my phone for a timer, which I'm not a fan of. So of the three, I like Crestwoods stretching atmosphere better followed by oak lawn and the calumet.

"Spa Area"... All three have them, but oak lawn and calumet have water massage beds AND chairs... Crestwood only has the water chairs. I like the beds better because you can lay on your side or stomach to target the massage to certain muscles, while the chairs you can pretty much only target part of your side or your back. So oak lawn and calumet win the points here. Calumet's has a fancy glass door which really gives it a spa feeling, so I like calumets atmosphere for the spa most. All three have tanning booths, infrared booths and regular massage chairs as well.

Atmosphere... I like Crestwood best. It's the smallest of the three, but the brightest and I love the staff. Oak Lawn and calumet are both larger but with darker walls and lights so it's more of a a warehouse feel. There was also practically no staff on site when I went there, just someone at the counter. They seemed nice enough, but Crestwood makes me feel like they recognize me when I come. Especially Tyler and Kenny, and the new girl.

For what "Planet Fitness" means as a gym, it check-marks all your basic needs for beginner/moderate gym-goers. Staff comes and goes, but for the most part as any normal human, you greet with a smile, you'll get the same smile back. It's on the smaller/medium size than your typical other planet locations, so during peak hours, it gets packed fast. Basic leather massage chair(pair), tanning that I've never used, and no hydro massage unfortunately.

Don't be discouraged by what videos you see on social media. Those happen EVERYWHERE. There is always that "one" ecstatic person who probably hasn't been to the gym before doing some weird/crazy stuff. Just let them be. If you are a hardcore gym-goers, I'd recommend another gym/fitness center.

I came to planet fitness because I need a personal trainer. !!! ever since I met Garrick he’s been awesome and respectful and I get my workout in 30 minutes…. leg day one day, upper body the next day 🙌🏼 Garrett is very trained in his position where he gives feedback on each machine what to do and not to do and I’m happy to learn this while I’m in the gym working out!!!!! 😃

The location in Crestwood Illinois sucks. My disabled daughter looks young so they said I have to go on line and register her.this is the only location that said she can't come in unless I go online. I told them I don't go online and I have a Id.other locations have taken her picture but Crestwood said unless I go on line she can't workout there. Out of the 6 planet fitness I go to this is the o ly one that gives me a problem.
