I don’t come to planet fitness very often because I have a membership at Warhouse barbell gym, but I came here because it was late at night and my other gym is already closed, staff is very rude didn’t even bother to say hello when I came in, place was dirty and a lot of people just taking pictures of themselves which it was uncomfortable, I was doing lat pulldown on one of the machines with the whole stack which is not light at all I let go of the weight on accident barely slamming the weight, and a dude w a buzz cut and a piercing asked to stop doing that like I had been doing it the whole time, wasn’t polite at all, and I just said okay no worries and he rolled his eyes at me I thought for a second he was a little girl because of his attitude, after that he was just walking around the machines/weights I was using for the rest of my workout which made it pretty uncomfortable.

The gym stays clean and we'll stocked. However my review is for staff. They are terrible. They do not great you when you walk in and stare at you when you leave. Coming from another friendly location, I am not used to unfriendly customer service reps. Do better PF staff.

The staffs are polite and Travis always greets you with a big smile. It’s not crowded in Elgin location so I like to workout here.
I gave it a four star only because it smells funky in the spa area. Overall, it’s a great place to workout.

10 out of 10, love this location! Ivanna, Travis, and Jose have made the fitness experience at Planet Fitness incredible! Their kindness from the moment we walk in for a workout, help finding certain machines and equipment, to their kindness when keeping the facility clean and wishing us well as we end a workout session!
Special shootout to Ivanna for helping me when I accidentally threw my lock key in the trash and she dug through the entire bag and found it and sanitized it for me! Without her, we wouldn't have been able to get home!

Why is the owner referring me to the staff when the owner has made the decision to have machines moved around and now a cluster of machines stacked together. Unable to use various machines.
This place should close until the machines are put in place. Should have never took the machines out of 30 minute room, all other locations have the same set up. West Dundee closed for a few days to rearrange and this location should do the same.

Been coming here for months: mostly ok but if it's not an inconvenience to go to the one in Dundee then I'd recommend just going there, much bigger and cleaner. No rules are enforced at Elgin location, so many people with terrible gym etiquette work out here and no one bats an eye. Gym bags everywhere, inappropriate gym attire, people leaving weights around and not wiping down equipment, etc etc. Would be five stars if staff cared a bit more to create a better workout environment!
