Best customer service in Chicagoland. The gym is small but considering the space is well laid out. The locker rooms need an upgrade but unlike most of the showers in the area with rain fall shower heads, I could actually wash my hair and shave my legs in these showers. Sadly they only have hydromassage loungers rather than the beds which are so much more comfortable.

There are no sales pitches - you can just get down to business and work out! I have a Black Card membership with Planet Fitness because I travel and this allows me to work out at any location (along with other benefits). I live in Evanston so I currently use this facility the most. Over the years I have visited several locations and Evanston, hands down, has the friendliest and most helpful staff. I've not had any bad feelings here. I wish they could add another hydro bed, or keep that one working. I understand lots of usage can damage it. All guest are not mindful to wipe it down after use. Sometimes it has shoe marks when I arrive. I wipe it down before and after.

Oh man, this place is rough. I went in to ask about a membership and while waiting to learn more the two guys at the front desk started mocking a larger woman about her weight after she left the gym. I walked right out and will never patronize a gym that shames someone who is trying to improve their health.

For the same price, the Blink just up the street is cleaner, larger, and (most importantly) has very nice staff who don’t bro shame customers.

As soon as you walk in you're strongly greeted with smiles from staff. The one who really stands out is Club Manager Kacie K. She's like a radar and always observing that almost each member is greeted with her heartfelt smile and would do anything to make sure a members workout experience is an unforgettable one. Her leadership skills with her staff is amazing. The equipment at this location are very sanitized and clean the floor is always kept spotless. 3 minutes past 7pm on a rainy Saturday, and was rudely told to “step outside.” My partner was told “no time to dry your hair” but did not mention anything to the other person in the locker room. We very much respect and have no issues with the “24/5” policy. However, the way the staff enforce the hours is extremely rude, inconsiderate, and unnecessary. We will be canceling our membership. My partner has been a regular member for a year and has been nothing but respectful to the staff and equipment. We were rushing to get out of the lockers as fast as we can, but happened to be after the hour by 3 minutes. There would have been no issues and quite understandable if a normal, not even polite, reminder was given. Instead they chose to not see us as another human and actually took more effort to be rude to us at first glance.

Very friendly staff. Very clean. The shower nozzles were recently replaced and the pressure is very nice.
Some of the lockers could use a touch up from the rust. Consider some box sets of wildly enjoyed shows? I'm not a fan of the tik toc highlights of people on gear lifting, its called superhuman. Its repetitive and not interesting. Theres already sports highlights being shown on another tv.
I highly recommend headphones as the music is all over the place. You'll hear rap followed by heavy metal followed by techno. Its a bit much.
Lots of people sit on their phones during busy hours while at machines. There aren't enough machines for that, and there isn't any enforcement.
The new layout in the stretching/ab area seems to fit less people then before. I also preferred when everyone had individual spray bottles for their machines.
I have complaints but over all its a nice establishment.

I like this place a lot. The manager is the sweetest person ever, and she assembled an amazing team that make the everyday workout great.
However I've come to the realization (after my honeymoon phase is over with the gym), that no one in this gym showers. I come at the busiest hour, as it is the time I leave work, but I feel the place is not properly planned as there are tons of cardio machines that almost no one uses, and the strength machines have one or two very next to each other and that's it. The stretching area is small and poorly ventilated. Now you would guess how stinky this place gets, it makes me sad because I love the place, but I cannot withstand the smell of people with poor hygiene, and waiting a lot of time to use one or another machine :(

I have been going to this location for years because it was always comfortable and there were always nice employees.

For over a year, my fitness plan has included me going to this location from around 3:30am to 4:50am on weekdays because I live in Skokie and have to commute to Chicago and be at work around 7am. I would work out from Tuesday to Friday and Saturday at 7am. I would see my fellow regular attendees almost every day of the week. There would be people in every area exercising. The cardio machines, the weight machines, the free weights, the smith machines, the stretching area.

I have been able to accomplish so much at this location, because they have promised us (on their website) that they will work on our schedule... because they are a company that is for the members.

I am told days before the change that the hours will be changed on weekdays from being 24/5 to opening at 5am...
I don't blame the employees that work there. I blame the management and their management for not keeping their word.
When I was told, the employees there told me, not the management. We did not hear one word from the management or even the company that this was going to happen.

The ones responsible for this decision are just going to say that this is because not many people come at this time, even though the beginning of this story mentions the contrary. More and more people would attend this club as my time there would pass by. It wasn't empty. There were always people there.

The management has no remorse for how this has affected the lives of those who would attend before 5 am.

The club still has signs that say it is a 24/5 club. Because I like getting there early enough to be the first one in, I have seen members these past two days get there before 5am, try to open the door, display anger of this change, and leave because they are not able to get a workout in.

I have to now fit the workout that used to take an hour into 40 min, because of their schedule change.

The management would probably say that they are "sorry" for my inconvenience and that they could help me switch my home club to another club that is open 24/5.

This does not solve my problem...
- Why would I not know how to change home club?
-Why would I switch to another club that is miles farther from my home that would also affect my timing?
-Another club that is still open 24/5 will be congested by those of us that have switched out of this club and by those who already have been attending that club.

It's as if they want the Planet Fitness clubs to be overfilled at all times to the point where we are not able to have a good workout.
They seem to want us to be uncomfortable.
We would go to this location because although there were people there, all the machines would not be occupied.
They don't seem to care.

***Additionally, they owe me 2 custom t-shirts for completing their 2023 Spring Fitness Challenge (it is currently 2024). The goal was to attend 33+ times in a time period, and I was able to. I have contacted management twice. The second time, which was around 3-4 months ago, management said they will be here "next week." I don't know what she meant by next week, but it definitely wasn't 7 days from when she told me. Management thinks their problems will just go away, but this is one example of their lack of customer service and follow-up.

There's no way I can give them 5 stars anymore as I'm changing my review as the violated our contract. Nowhere in our contract does it say we are required to have a Covid Vaccinated card. Yet I was just kicked out. I have my card, I been vaccinated, yet because I didn't have it on me at the time, I was kicked out.
After I was kicked out, I came home to read the contract with Planet Fitness (which hasn't been updated since September 7, 2020)
There is not 1 mention of the word "Vaccine" or "Covid" that requires you to have a card.

Tonight, the person who does maintenance at night was bullying everyone because they had their jackets or bottles of water around them while they were working out. This is my first instance that has turned in a bad experience since I have been working out at this location. She had the nerves to ask me to read the contract where it is that stated that personal items can't be on the floor while mats and weights were all over the floor at the gym. Apparently this woman has authority issues which it was not good received by any of the other members. I believe she needs to get a little more customer service training.
