The FOREST PARK Planet Fitness (PF) is one of the best (maybe "THE BEST") PF I've ever been in. Why? Because the staff there really know what they're doing. Clean equipment, comprehensible instruction, and a safe judgement free zone.

Starting at a new gym isn't easy, but now I've move to being a black card member and this is the only location I take my guest to. They all love it, and some even go on to purchase their own membership.

The gym is dark and has several fans + AC what is completely unnecessary!
The gym is not properly clean, massages chairs does not smell well and the location were they are located are not comfortable as the others franchise.

Update review: after a few months of coming, I decided to cancel my membership. This gym is BEYOND capacity. Regardless of the time you come. Half of the time machines are broken/unable to be used. Whether it’s Monday or Friday, it has been consistent for over 6 months. It is now July 2025. On top of that, bathrooms are usually un-stocked of toilet paper & staff are always talking upfront or with other guests around the gym. Very unprofessional.

I walked in a few day back to get a membership for the both of us. First, The young lady looked at me crazy because Her and another employee was just have so much fun laughing - giggling. When I asked about a membership- She said go to the website and it's all there and walk back and start talking to her coworker. I just laughed, Sat down in those hard as metal chairs for 3 seconds. Then I said NOPE, they will not be counting my money and walked out. I will not be working out Planet Fitness! Every!!
p.s. I had my wife and 2 sons to cancel their membership. I paid all cancellations fees. Now, You ladies may finish your conversation with each other.

A black lady with dreadlocks was very rude to me today, when explaining the purpose of the ID photo picture & was very argumentative. I asked for the only gentleman there to step in & explain the photo requirement to me because she was so aggressive with me, repeating to me that “it’s literally in the policies, it’s required.” she was smiling & laughing with other patrons when I left, especially to thoughts that do not look like her. I don’t know what it is but I just recently started visiting this gym & I’m new to the area. unfortunately, a lot of the black employees are rude at this location, particularly the women that work the counter. If they can tell you are new to the area, or to the gym, they will be snappy & mean with you for not being openly receptive or naïve to the gym’s policies. & I’m a black patron myself, so this isn’t a race thing, but a cultural issue. Please Beware. Another case of being “nice to others, but being rude to people that look like you.” Very sad. I’m gonna find another gym to go too.

I became a member of PF a few months ago and avoided this location because it always seems crowded. Today I had no choice so I gave it a try…SO HAPPY I did. I was greeted by Ria, and she answered about a thousand questions that I had! LOL. The gym was moderately crowded but nothing crazy! I was able to use every machine that I wanted and the stretch area was also not crowded. I used additional amenities and they were all amazing! Ria was so helpful and made an experience that I was so nervous about so fun and easy! I will most certainly be back!

This location is beyond capacity, I’m sure the owner is making a killing, however they shouldn’t have let any new members sign up in 2025 at all, it was already too crowded. Now all the high school kids get to come in for free and overrun the gym. They are either needlessly occupying space and equipment doing nothing on their phones or they’re working out in large groups using multiple pieces of equipment doing the same exercises together. They have no gym adequate, they make messes, they don’t rack their weights, they break equipment by playing on it. I feel horrible for the one young man that is constantly returning weights that people leave behind. If all you want is to come in and get on a treadmill, you’ll be fine, however, if you want to actually do weight training or use equipment, good luck! Sometimes there are 6-10 people waiting on a smith machine giving everyone dirty looks because they are waiting. The gym was my way to release stress and now the entire experience is stressful. I have a strict routine, I don’t just come in and do random exercises, now I’m winging every workout based on what’s available which is not much and it takes me twice as long…so working out here is literally wasting my time! It’s sad!

I switched to this gym after my rec center became overrun with kids. This place is huge and has so many machines, never gets overrun with kids, but has some pretty badly behaving adults. The massage chairs and hydro massage are nice, but there are often people talking on the phone loudly or watching something on their phone without headphones. The staff doesn't seem to monitor this. It's up to the patrons, which is a lot of responsibility. We shouldn't have to monitor the behavior of other patrons. Many people also don't wipe down the chairs or machines. I do also wish one side of the massage chairs didn't have a screen in case you don't want to watch a screen for once. When I brought some of these behaviors to the attention of the staff, they said "next time I should report that person." So apparently instead of enjoying my time at the gym, I have to report people? Like I'm a gym monitor? Shouldn't that be their job? I'm considering quitting and just getting workout equipment to use at home and saving my money.

This location is always clean as far as I have experienced. If I’m there for over 90 minutes, almost always see at least one person mopping, changing the sanitizing tools and even dusting the holders. I appreciate that most of all through the “sharing sickness” season we are in.
My favorite amenity has to be the hydromassage bed though. Using it before starting my workout and after, helps tremendously with soreness and definitely gives the motivation to return.
The only drawback to the convenience of this location for me is that it is often crowded (especially between 4-7pm) with people sitting on machines just staring around. That is very frustrating for me specifically as I use supersets during my workouts. However it’s not horrible though as they have at least 2 of each machine…except the leg press which is my favorite. 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿I would absolutely love if they added one more.
Overall great gym and extremely convenient as it’s next to Amazon fresh grocer, plenty of parking, and refreshments for recovery at the door.

I went forest park gym today around 1:30 pm but when I reached their the servers was down n even I didn’t stay at work to do over time work because I like to go to the gym. So I lost my overtime pay and I didn’t have enough options there to do gym.
gym management always poor and Ridiculous , most of the time they have issues with Wifi Connection and Manager doesn’t have a proper answer to my question and they are not responsible at all
They never understand how important it is for customers. At This gym we are just wasting money and time.

I just left planet fitness for the first time. This “gym” is for people who want to do cardio. That’s it. If you want to target muscle groups in every aspect, simply find a better gym. Not to mention, there had to of been 300 people in this gym. You will have no room to properly exercise. This was absolutely horrific in so many ways. Every machine and every spot was in use. This might be cheap but you’re better off going for a walk. This was a hell on earth experience.

They upgraded in the past two years so it's comparable to other PF in the area (we just need the glute bridge machine now!!!),attendants are competent, though not super friendly, but I'm here to workout not run my mouth. The machines are usually in GOOD condition, I haven't seen a broken sign on a weight machine in months, and only max 4 treadmills will be out of service at any given time ime. This location has really improved compared to pre-2020 when it was kind of trash.

I love the German Forest Park. It’s very clean and there’s more chess workout equipment so you can get a good chest workout. The only thing I don’t like about it is the staff is not as friendly as they were when I first joined the gym. It seems like they greet you when you come in, but they don’t greet you when you come out and if you’re not known by the staff, they don’t really talk or interact with you but they at least can say bye when you’re leaving or have a good day thank you for coming in. I know that’s a big part of my job. I work at Ace Hardware and I’m a store manager and customer service one of the biggest part of my job so maybe they can work on that but other than that I don’t have any issue with the gym. It’s a really good gym I like it.
