Visited on August 1st at 5:30am. Facility was fine however I could not get on the hydro massage chair because the employee working was sleeping in a massage chair with headphones in so I could not wake him. Not sure if management allows this but I was not able to use my Black card perks. Nor was i able to purchase any energy drinks because of the sleeping employee.

Update- 9/25 - still have the same sleeping employee here. Had to wake him up to get access to hydro massage. The total body enhancement machine is disgusting filled with hair and some sort of sticky liquid on floor. Maybe instead of sleeping he cleans up.
Do not go here if you can avoid it. They are staffed with lazy workers who do not keep the facility clean. Also if you come early in the morning, 4am ish, there is a good chance that you won't be able to access your Black card membership perks due to lazy sleeping workers.

Most insulting experience of my life.
I've been a black card member for almost 10 years, with the Tinley location being my "Home club". I work 2 jobs, And will sometimes stop in for a quick run on the treadmill and a shower in between them. It's quicker than going all the way home, and keeps me moving. I stopped in Sunday evening, A few hours before closing time. The men's bathroom/shower area was FILTHY. Water was all over the place, leading from the showers to the dressing areas. but the worst part - The kid who should have been keeping the place clean had the audacity to accuse me of leaving one of the showers in disgusting shape, BY STOPPING ME ON MY WAY OUT AND ASKING ME ABOUT IT. I had to use all my self restraint that day...
As soon as I have time to join a better gym I'm canceling my P.F. membership. But I'll never step foot in that location again.

Today my experience was not as great. Unfortunately, I called the front desk because during my workout all I could hear was the extremely loud music over my own. Turning up my earbuds to the max is a risk to my hearing. The woman who answered the phone immediately told me turning the volume slightly down was not a possibility. That is not true. Not only have I heard the gym music at this exact location at lower volume, I know someone who works at another location and know someone who used to work at this very location in tinley, and also while looking online I’ve read that the front desk typically tries to accommodate their guest as far as music volume. I know that the employees can control the volume. I wasn’t asked for it to be turned off or dramatically turned down. I asked for a slight adjustment to protect my hearing. This was a disappointing experience today.

The experience doesn’t just happen one time it is legit every time you step foot into Planet Fitness that you get that amazing welcoming experience EVERY TIME!

I signed up trying to get back into shape after a bad on duty car accident. I was treated like I am valued, respected and like family. I love the large quantity of machines which never leaves you waiting for one to be available. It’s very clean and all the equipment is safely placed to avoid tripping or injuries. The red light enhancement is my fav! The two massage options are great! I feel the black card is the way to go! With unlimited use of the extras too which I really appreciate!

When I was in physical therapy after my surgeries, I would come to the gym and do the massage chairs and red light therapy which I can truly say IT HELPED!

The locker room is always clean and a lot of room and lockers! I cant speak for the Men’s locker room but I’m sure it’s great too!

I love coming to workout because although you come for a workout the energy and support from the employees just makes it sooooo much better!

I highly recommend coming to Tinley Park’s Planet Fitness. It’s truly wonderful!

Out of all of the planet fitness locations this one was a little confusing for me. The 30-minute workout area was broken off into multiple locations. Some of the workout equipment is in the area called the stretch area in case someone else is a little confused about that too. Otherwise this is a nice gym and I do recommend it.

This gym has a lot going for it, but lately, a few serious oversights have made it harder to recommend.

Just for reference: A friend of mine, an older gentleman, nearly collapsed from overheating. If I hadn’t caught him, he could have cracked his head on the floor, and that could have easily led to legal consequences.

The main issue is the air conditioning. While the front desk area stays cool, only warm air blows near the equipment, which is exactly where people are sweating the most. It is difficult not to assume this is a cost-cutting measure. On top of that, none of the TVs work anymore, which makes long cardio sessions feel even longer.

If the goal is to force more sweating as some sort of misguided fitness strategy, it is misinformed at best and negligent at worst. Sweating does not significantly burn calories, but it does drain the body of vital electrolytes such as sodium and potassium. Drinking plain water is not an effective solution; in fact, tap water may provide as little as 0.04% of your daily value for electrolytes.

Members deserve better. If people feel cold, they can wear layers; and if financial concerns are behind these changes, the gym should be honest with its members. I have asked multiple times about the air conditioning, only to be brushed off with answers like, “I don’t know why it’s not on.”

This wasn’t always a problem, but it seems to be ongoing now. Please restore the TVs and address the ventilation issue before someone gets seriously hurt.

The Gym overall is clean and equipment is new/well maintained. Staff is friendly and tries to welcome everyone walking in (sometimes this doesn’t happen but it’s not a huge deal to me). Locker rooms are clean tidy (I don’t use the showers there so can’t speak to them). Tinley recently made some changes to their layout and added more hiit equipment and smith machines which is great.

I do notice constant issues with the Tinley location's main entrance though. I’ve been a member for about little over 3 months now and the main doors are always out of order or down for repairs. The last two weeks, members have had to use the emergency exit to enter/leave the building. Additionally, the past several weeks saw all of their TVs having no signal and cutting in/out - this is also not a big deal for me since most of the TVs have news on but I can see it being an annoyance for other members.

If you value your valuables don't go to this Planet fitness. LOCKERS are constantly being broke into,your car.my locker as well as others have been broken into. Who ever runs this facility never even reached out to follow up with anything regarding the police being called, or addressing the thefts ,and people's belongings being stolen. I have been a member of Planet fitness since 2014. I have been going to The Tinley Park location since 2017 when I first moved to the suburbs of Chicago to Orland park then now Oak Forest. It is a very convenient location, very close to my house, and the staff is very friendly I highly recommend this location and Planet fitness for those who are trying to lose weight, want to choose exercise equipment of their choice, and want a affordable gym membership.

I’m very disappointed with the deceptive business practices at this company. They offered a promotion for Black membership with a clear advertisement stating 50% off on drinks. However, when I tried to claim this discount, they refused, saying not every drink was included, despite the ad clearly not specifying any exclusions. This feels like they’re intentionally misleading customers.

On top of that, they frequently offer two different prices for the same service or product at the same time, which is confusing and, in my opinion, illegal. To make matters worse, the staff at the front desk is incredibly disrespectful and dismissive.

My friend owns a black card membership and I attended with her as a guest when we tried to participate in the hydro massage we were told only black card members were allowed (understandable) my friend then expressed she was allowed on several occasions to get a massage when going as a guest the Manger gale then expressed “sometimes they let some people in and sometimes they don’t”
(Unprofessional) I expressed how unprofessional that is and every time I visit now there’s an issue. Going as a guest they made me take my picture each time I went, so I decided to get my own membership thinking that would solve the issue of them bothering me about and ID when attending as a guest within that time of me having my own BC membership I’ve visited several locations CCHills and even travels out to Indiana locations with no issue.This week my friend wanted to return to the Tinley park locations and was told I need an ID by Alex when so I asked why I needed an id he told me there was no picture on file considering he was the one who took my picture twice and I have my own membership I don’t understand how he needs my ID for a fourth time of me attending to is location when I asked to speak to someone else they told me I shouldn’t have an issue so I called and was told the same thing by their cooperative supervisor so I don’t know what the issue is but the harassment and unprofessional expressions by Alex have even made me question wanting the entire membership

I like coming to this location. It has the necessities for a good workout. Telly the manager is cool. He made me feel comfortable after a weird experience with a guy who worked there. He speaks to me and addresses me by name when I see him there. It’s something small but it makes a difference. I recommend this location to family and friends.
