I’ve only experienced PF in Scottsdale AZ which is incredible until last night when I went to the Addison PF to find 90% teenagers on their phones using the equipment as a chair to text on their phones, leaving the rest of us with no options for a complete workout. Today I went to the Villa Park PF skeptical after reading some pretty bad reviews.(which were from 3-6 years ago) I brought my husband as my guest and was not able to get my membership to accept my pass so the very patient girl at the front desk spent 10 minutes with us trying to find a solution and she finally was able to add him.To my surprise I found it welcoming, clean and most importantly I was able to workout on all the equipment without teenagers taking over the gym by sitting on equipment for my entire stay. When I left I shared with the manager the great experience we had and told her I would write a review. I highly recommend coming to the Villa Park PF.

No Security Cameras Outside. Be Cautious

There isn't a single security camera on the exterior of this location. If anything happens to your vehicle, don’t expect the staff or management to take any responsibility, they’ve consistently done nothing.

Despite multiple incidents, including break-ins and car accidents, there have been zero changes or efforts to improve safety. I personally had my brand new car broken into less than a week after parking here.

If you’re planning to leave your vehicle in this lot, be extremely careful. This is a rough area, and without surveillance, it’s completely unprotected. I highly recommend installing your own dash cams or external cameras for peace of mind.

I had a very disappointing experience at this Planet Fitness location. I came in with my guest — as part of my paid Black Card membership — and the first thing I was greeted with was a rude and inappropriate comment from a staff member (a Black man with a beard and hat) who asked, “Are you in the right place?” based on my appearance. I can only assume this was directed at my weight, which is completely unprofessional and unacceptable.

Planet Fitness promotes itself as a “Judgement Free Zone,” but this experience was the opposite of that. I felt humiliated and disrespected. This kind of treatment makes it very hard to feel safe or motivated to return. I hope the management takes this seriously and addresses the staff behavior, because no one should be made to feel this way at a gym.

I won’t be returning to this location, and I’m deeply disappointed by how I was treated.

I am writing to express my profound disappointment and frankly, outrage, regarding an incident that occurred today at your Planet Fitness location. As the owner of a company with 50 employees, we are new to this area, and I was exploring options to register all my employees for gym memberships. My initial intention was to enroll everyone at your facility.
However, our visit was met with an utterly unacceptable experience. We were "greeted" by an individual wearing a head covering and an extension beard who immediately challenged us with the question, "Are you guys in the right place?" This aggressive and unwelcoming attitude continued throughout our brief interaction.
To make matters worse, when we inquired about seeing the massage chairs, he flatly stated, "No, members only." This was despite the fact that I was accompanied by a friend who is a current member of your gym. His dismissive and unhelpful response, even to an existing member trying to show a potential new client the facilities, was beyond frustrating.
The behavior of this employee was not only unprofessional but also incredibly off-putting. Such a hostile first impression has entirely dissuaded me from ever considering any Planet Fitness location for my company's fitness needs, or for personal use. I had hoped to establish a beneficial partnership, but based on this interaction, that is clearly not possible.
I expect a certain level of professionalism and courtesy from any establishment, especially one that claims to promote a welcoming environment. The individual in question displayed none of these qualities. This incident has left a lasting negative impression on me and my team.
I urge you to address this matter immediately. Such an employee represents your brand poorly and will undoubtedly deter potential customers.

Girl staff member with piercings needs to be trained once again with customers service. Not sure if she was having a bad day but how she talked to me, and 2 other members no wonder they cancelled their memberships. I've been going to the gym for nearly 3 months and felt the need to leave a review regarding the staff. They are top notch! Friendly, kind and on top of everything. The gym and bathrooms are clean and well maintained, and they are always sure to greet and chat with members. I appreciate the recent upgrades of towel dispensers, cryo bed and most importantly Total Body Enhancement machine. My insurance allows me to try the "bigger" gyms, but I always find myself coming back here. Best place for someone starting a weightloss journey. Now we just need a papertowel dispenser in the bathroom :)

This gym is okay. It doesn’t have everything that other PFs have which is unfortunate if we’re all paying the same price. ALSO, whoever got Mike fired is trash. He was the best, always encouraging people coming in the door, throughout their workout, and people respected him. I even heard a few people walk in after me asking for him.

To corporate: I work in customer service and the majority of people like to complain for their own health or when shit doesn’t go their way so it sucks that you all took their word over his. I guess you all fall into the category of DEI failures. Folks ask for great employees, get them, then let them go. Let whoever go some place else, yall are not missin no money from it. Shame on yall, bring him back and get better equipment !

...mmm very disappointing ! They decided to not be a 24 -7 club -which is why I joined in the first place ! They can't keep the hydro beds and lounges working perfectly . The windows are very dirty and haven't been cleaned in the last 5 months . the heat wasn't working in the Black Card area for almost 2 weeks on the coldest winter days ! they decided to waste $30,000 on a new lounge chair and get rid of a hydro bed ! The old used Beauty Angel machine that was just installed - doesn't have Red Light Bulbs - the Sound system doesn't work and the vent fans are dirty . The bathrooms aren't kept CLEAN . Is this place going out of business ?

Out of the planet fitness’s in the area, this one is lower on the list. Cramped and no cohesive layout for the machines. Staff were friendly. Men’s locker room was far more dirty than the ones I’ve been to in DUPAGE or COOK on multiple visits. These were peak hours so it can be overlooked. If you have to go to this one, it will suffice.

I had gone to another manager the other day, like you said. And asked if she could help me with the new matrix elliptical to set it up and go thru the functions. She said ok and she said it would be the same set up as the treadmill. And found out it is not. And she could not figure it out either. I asked her to ask the owner if he would get the staffed trained on the new matrix elliptical, so they could help out the members to program the machine.
It would be greatly appreciated to know how to work the equipment. Would hate to go to another planet fitness club, and learn there, then change over my membership to that location

I had black membership which I changed to silver
I have had been changed to silver but planet fitness is keep charging me fee for black membership despite doing numerous request there staff is not capable of doing anything to update it
They kept giving me excuses that the manager has to update which never happened I tried canceling it which also has to go through the manager who is only available on certain days and certain times
This is a fraudulent practice to charge me higher fee for lower membership
I don’t get any response from the manager despite leaving my phone number with the staff
This place is very unprofessional no has authority to do anything and manager doesn’t have time to call or contact
I have been charged for extra amount for almost a year now
This is unacceptable at any level

Planet Fitness is a gym that’s open for 24 hours. The employees are young, fresh, and kind to everyone. It is cheaper than most gyms and it is a monthly paid gym, not an hourly paid gym. There’s equipment and there is everything you need at this planet fitness to workout. Planet Fitness even has a tanning section and a massage section and much more. Perfect. The only issue about Planet Fitness is that it can get super crowded and it is a very old gym that they should remodel. Planet Fitness is one of the best gyms ever. Highly recommended!

I signed up for the $10 membership in my hometown online after talking to them about how much the startup fees would be and I did and then I drove an hour to work and they had to stay overnight and wanted to shower and clean up for work in Villa Park. When I went into that particular planet fitness I was told that I could not use the facilities because I was not a black club member these people pay about 24 $25 a month to have full services of each and every planet fitness Nationwide I was told that my $10 membership only gave me services in my hometown minus the black club services I could use the gym and I could shower but I couldn't do it nationwide when I signed up online and when I talk to my home club no one told me this that I could not use the membership nationwide I am very upset I had to go to work dirty that day or take a shower somewhere else and was very inconvenient this was something I did not appreciate I believe planet fitness each and every club should tell their $10 membership people that it is only exclusive to their hometown club that they cannot go to any other planet fitness Nationwide and use their club this is unfair and unjust I don't see why my money would be accepted for that program in my hometown but it's not good in other towns I'm not asking for black club services on a $10 monthly budget I'm only asking to use the shower actually whenever I need to I don't believe that's too much to ask for

Really good gym, I like it, open 24 hours and everything staff are really nice too. Just had an experience though with a weird old guy with grey hair and glasses on june 21st around 12am. He was talking to my sister who despite being told she was a minor tried asking her if she was married, where she lived, where she worked made her very uncomfortable and she came to me for help. I left 1 star until this gets resolved hopefully it does and I will put it back to 5 stars I want this man to get banned quite frankly because it can happen to other girls who dont have their brother or boyfriend with them. And my sister no longer feels safe here.

Had $300 stolen from my locker at this gym even tho I had it locked. Employees didn't wanna help or even check the security footage for me. Basically told me to get lost and it's not their problem. Had to file a police report. Wouldn't be surprised if possibly one of the employees here was the one who broke into my locker. Other ppl also had their lockers broken into

Very disappointed, I thought since I have the Black Card membership it allowed you to use tanning beds and other amenities everywhere. I arrived today to find out I need to sign a waiver even though I have been there in the past without. I’m visiting the area and in order to sign the waiver I need to make this place my “home gym” which requires me to call and since I’m visiting I do not want or need to change my home town gym location. I thought as a black card member I can use the facilities and the amenities that I pay for anywhere and that is part of the reason I chose the member ship.

Another planet fitness branch, similar to what you will expect out of a PF gym. Good entry level gym to get into fitness, includes moderate free weight dumbbells Upto 75lbs. I'm so sick and tired of this Planet fitness club! Equipment is torn up, and the place needs a deep clean. My biggest issue is that it's impossible to cancel your membership here. I've been in person several times, delivered a hand-written letter as recommended by the club owner, and now that's not enough. I'm still being billed monthly. The place is filthy, locker rooms look and smell as though they haven't seen a mop in months. Manager as well as staff make themselves scarce, yet when approached, are willfully ignorant to all the obvious neglect. Front desk is frequently left unattended. Extremely concerning experience! While in women's dressing area, a person was videoing themselves catching me in the video. This behavior is not only unethical but illegal under Illinois law as a criminal offense. What made matters worse was this individual later emerged from a changing room wearing a PF STAFF shirt, their distinctive dyed red hair made it unmistakably clear they were the same person.
To make matters worse, I previously reported a similar incident just weeks ago, and it seems no precautions were taken to address the issue. Since even staff members choose to violate customers' rights.

I strongly urge management to take action to prevent such incidents from reoccurring. The violation of customers' privacy is unacceptable, and it puts PF at risk of facing serious class action lawsuits.

Just now a group of 4 or 5 of us got robbed here. I normally use the locker room to store all my stuff while working out and lock it up with a big padlock. So after my workout I went back to the locker room and my lock was gone, along with $100 out of my wallet. Same exact thing happened to at least 4 other guys within 10 minutes. I guess the cameras in here don’t work and the single employee refused to answer any questions. Choosing to stand there and stare off into space. So looks like I need to find a different gym, and I was really starting to like it here. They apparently have people coming in here with scanning their phones who don’t have passes, and it’s impossible for a single employee to make sure that people coming in are actually supposed to be here

Started a membership at this location as was traveling for work. Have been charged for the past 2 years $20/month for a membership I don’t use. Had tried months earlier to cancel membership via the app. Got charged a $39 annual fee just now. Spoke with them on the phone - state you cannot cancel your membership online or over the phone and must send a certified letter to the original location to cancel and that no refund will be processed. The girl (only one working apparently) didn't know how to complete the waver process. When asked when someone else would be in, she said 5pm but that person probably didn't know either. The next person who the girl felt would know, would be in at 11pm...(way to late for a 16 year old.) The way she made it seem, NOBODY during normal daylight hours knew how to complete the process and rather than calling someone (a manager perhaps) we'd have to come back tomorrow. Seems like more training is needed...

The area is always neat and clean. Amanda's team is always dressed properly.

I waited to make this review but I shouldn’t have to worry about my safety and the safety of others. I’m assuming he works there but has Taco Bell gear on most of the time but recently he was going around the gym saying he wanted to fight co workers among many other things haven’t seen the other worker hope he quit I know I would’ve if nothing is going to get done about it

Did the free trial. Realized it was a full membership and they’ve been charging my account every month. Email and called to cancel. No response. The. “You have to go in to the gym” I moved away from this location so it’s frustrating. I’ve never even been there and they’ve been charging me this whole time. I can’t just cancel over the phone/ mail. Disputing with bank as well.

I was before this branch for two years in Broadway branch it’s like different owners this one here is not clean and not organized and missing equipment , there’s no balls with weights also bathrooms they just recently put the paper in the place and the cleaning spray are few you can not take one with you and only one spray in each place.
The hydro massage not fixed suddenly stop in the middle then go strong again.
I don’t why there is big difference in branches of plants fitness.

I canceled payment to Planet Fitness through my bank when they raised their prices, and then I stopped going. Without any correspondence from them (e-mail or snail mail), 6 months later I was turned over to collections and in order to cancel my membership, had to pay for 6 months of membership that I never used. I asked for the manager to call me to see if I could reason with them, but waited a week and never received a call. I ended up just going in and paying it out of fear they would continue to rack up an even larger bill (They wouldn't cancel my membership without settling up on the past due balance they continued to charge me for). None of the employees could tell me what this meant in regards to being turned over to collections and whether or not it would impact my credit score. It's a poor way to treat your customers and not a respectful way of conducting business.

This is just my experience and warning to others- watch out there are thieves here. This review isn't about the quality of the customer service or the gym itself... This is just a warning to others. I just took out all my valuables from my cheap jacket and placed the $20 jacket in the locker without a lock thinking it'd be fine. No sir. My decent-looking but very cheap jacket was taken. I saw some shady- looking character watching me from behind my back while I was initially in the locker room. I didn't think much of it, but was sure to take my wallet/phone/keys out with me. If someone is willing to steal such cheap items, they would most definitely take ANYTHING. Watch your back.

Highly recommend Planet Fitness to anybody of any fitness level. You can modify the moves either up or down to meet your needs, so it’s a phenomenal workout every time! The balance of strength to cardio is perfect.

Bianca, is a total pro. The gym is warm, inviting as it is it's temperature.. clean as a whistle. Staff clearly cares. Kudos to the folks keeping it going for us trying to stay well..

It's unknown whether you'll like a gym driving in from a new town. I can say this.. you won't regret coming from wherever you are to villa park PF.

Went in to cancel, internet was down. Explained to the worker I didn’t want to get charged the $39 fee because I’ve used this gym about 5 times in a year, was told “you will get a refund if you get charged because it’s our fault.” Fast forward go in when I’m told, it was a different worker who was very nice but didn’t honor what her coworker said and was refused the refund after they asked the owners. Bad look telling people something then doing the opposite.

I have been to many gyms in my day and i have never felt worried about what I have LOCKED in a locker. Today someone broke/picked my lock and stole all of my cash. Left everything else in my wallet and clothes, which I am grateful for. I will be going to another gym in the future. I feel violated and I have a major loss of trust. Be careful with your things and make sure to get a strong lock!
