Planet Fitness is getting worse. Black Card membership is supposed to give full access to all locations, but now they’ve made it restrictive. Many locations are separating into their own systems—you have to sign in every time, and after 5–7 visits outside your “home gym group,” they charge extra. It’s no longer flexible like before. Might be time to discover another gym like CFX and make reviews later.

Please do not go to this Gym! They will double bill you...charge your debit and credit card for one payment.....also payments don't reflect on the app..... meaning when you open the app to sign in at the gym, the app will say you have a past due balance when you don't. I went to the gym to speak with the staff about these issues and all I got was confusion.....alot of I don't know....while they just stared at the computer screen.This planet fitness is a scam and needs to be reported for unfair business practices.

The gym is kept at a nice cool temperature, and the staff are friendly. There is a lot of equipment, especially on the cardio side.

I wish they would convert the lockers to built in locks. I think they keep them as requiring a lock because then they can sell their $30 planet fitness locks.

Now they are reducing hours on the weekend. One of the main draws for me was the fact that they’re 24/7.

I had a membership at the Wheaton facility. My father got ill and I was taking care of him full time. I sent in a letter to cancel my membership life got busy and not paying much attention. When my dad passed I moved to Michigan when transferring accounts to my amazement I was still paying on my membership 1 year after first letter went on line was told I had to cone in(not possible being in MI) so sent another letter to facility still continued to take my money sent another letter you guessed it still taking my money. Tried doing it on line with support you guessed it "send
A letter to facility in Wheaton" I have not used this membership since before covid I am sure they can verify this information. I have been sending letters since 2021. All I want is the membership canceled. I finally let the bank account in Illinois run down. On the advise of my attorney I am going to be sending my letter certified we shall see what happens. I will never get another planet fitness membership again. I have family members after seeing what I am going through considering canceling theirs also.

Planet Fitness Manager is on a Power Trip.

I was in the lobby responding to a work text message and an employee named Adam came up to me and said I needed to scan in, was kind of awkward and the employee said it was a just a formality... I didn't really think twice about it until a week later the same employee came up to me middle of a workout and asked me to stop working out so loudly... I was not working out loudly, the whole thing felt very much like a power trip and made me feel that I was being singled out. Moreover, I went to go complain to the manger, I found out Adam (the employee) was the manager -- Since then I cancelled my membership and have gone to VASA.

Is a great place I go at night because that’s the only time I can. The only thing is you guys need a bach to get in is just open and anyone can get in . I was there last week and some people got and did not work out just enter to eat and sleep . I really like the gym and it has everything I need to get a good workout. I workout in the morning and it’s not packed which is great to not have to wait on machines. My only gripe is the cleanliness and employees. The place could use a cleaning in the men’s locker rooms. At one point there were Q-Tips in one of the changing stalls that were sitting on the floor for a couple days. You would think if the gym regularly cleaned the bathrooms this would not be overlooked. In regards to employees, one of the guys in the morning is visible and friendly and greats us at the door with a smile and friendly welcome. When he’s not there there is a girl that offsets his schedule that is never around. I don’t know if she’s sleeping in back but I see her for maybe 4 mins if at all the entire hour I’m there. You would think that part of operating a gym is customer service and greeting people and being visible in case people have questions or need help but this girl is never around. Tried to find her one day as all the locker room stalls were locked from the inside but nobody was around to help.

I’m so sorry I have to give this a 3 and it would’ve been a 2 if the worker on call by himself last night wasn’t overly apologetic. So I am a member at another location in Aurora and since I’ve relocated to Wheaton decided to go in about changing locations. The moment I walked in I was so surprised how small it was compared to all the others I’ve visited. Wow is all I can say. I stood at the front desk for almost 10 minutes waiting for someone to come greet or inquire my needs. Finally a worked came from behind from warming up food (I understand but he should not be the only worker). I can’t really had a workout experience due having change locations but after yesterday I’m not so sure.

I don’t understand why there is never a staff member available to use the Black Card Spa. I go in the morning and there is rarely anyone that shows their face at the front desk the duration I’m at the gym. The card reader is propped up, and no staff can be found in the whole gym.

Truly, I don’t know why I pay for a membership. There’s no one at the front stopping me from entering or requiring me to scan my card. I could seriously cancel my membership, keep coming, and I don’t think anyone would ever notice.

My husband and I both supervised staff and notice good service. When we go to the gym, Adam is one employee we always see taking care of things. He is cleaning windows, floors, wiping down equipment and taking care of members. He does what he can to replace knobs that are missing on equipment (probably due to theft) for making adjustments. He also tackles the unpleasant task of cleaning the men's restroom, which is always in need of attention.

This morning, he was there with Joseph and Chris. All three were pleasant to talk with and personable; taking care of members and cleaning.

One last comment. If Planet Fitness is a judgement free zone - why does their "Lunk Alarm" criticize power lifters and body builders? And by the way, have never heard it go off when the members are dropping weights.

There are many appliances that are out of service and are not fixed, they have not been fixed for weeks, in the bathrooms there is no soap in the sinks, and the shower curtains are full of fungus. This gym is very neglected.

The people are nice, and it has a lot of cardio equipment. Unfortunately that is about the most positive thing I can say. This gym is no longer keeping pace with other Planet fitness in the suburbs. Size is medium compared to newer spaces, it feels a bit cramped. There are some other issues that really keep me from coming back. There is some deep down dirt on the floors around the machines and in the smaller spaces. Nobody does a deep clean at this location. There are tears and worn down parts in some machines. The curl machines especially are awful. Worn through pads on one and grindy clunky feeling on the other. There are spots in the floor that are stained and torn as well. And a leaky air conditioner. It just doesn’t say clean and healthy to me. It says worn out and neglected. The selection of resistance bands needs to be replenished. The men’s urinals and sinks needed a good scrub when I was there but they do vacuum and mop the floor in the mens room so that helped.

No, I will not bring my concerns about the equipment to the club manager. As the manager, it’s his/her job to not be actionless and push the owners or corporate to get stuff fixed. That’s not my job. It’s very obvious that 1 of 4 smith machines is not working since 3 weeks ago. And that the only 2 leg curl machines have been out of order for almost a month. The management should be addressing these things immediately not waiting for upset customers to speak up. Thanks.

Embarrassing that this gym is small yet one smith machine and BOTH and the ONLY leg curl machines have been down going for 3 weeks. Great spot, no intimidating people or atmosphere.its pretty quiet, most people are by the weight areas. Tons of treadmills and climbers. Even though people are in the weight area there's never really a wait time for machines. Cleaning supplies everywhere. They just need to fix their tvs there's a few that are down and it always happens to be around the machine I'm on. For only 10 bucks a month it's a great gym.

Such a terrible gym. First off there is no place to actually do cardio, 2nd the staff is non existent, 3rd I cancelled my membership on Jan 14th for me and my daughter who is 14 and got charged again on Feb 17th. I went in to get this corrected and they told me the cancellation was done under the old manager and they couldn’t give me my money back. They gave my the number to corporate and when I called the corporate recording number said all billing questions must be resolved at the location. I will be going back to collect. I attempted to call to cancel my membership since I’ve moved and dont have a planet fitness close enough but was informed i had to come in to my home gym to cancel. On the 13th, i was able to drive out to Wheaton to cancel but was then billed on the 17th for another month of membership. When i called about the charge, i was only then informed that I should’ve canceled by the 10th, which i was not informed of the first time around. When trying to explain that, the manager i spoke with was incredibly rude and disrespectful. I understand that information was somewhere in the terms & agreement but it should have been mentioned when i had called prior to the 10th. I had a membership for about a year. The staff were always friendly and relatively helpful. I felt that the environment was a little over-stimulating and had a lot of noise, which unfortunately kept me from coming quite as often, but I’m more sensitive than the average person. Planet Fitness in Wheaton is a standard Planet Fitness with the usual complement of equipment it's well laid-out well-ventilated and generally the people are very nice. However the club is filthy the floors seem to never be mopped. They are covered in salt. I've yet to see anyone cleaning floors this is especially a problem in the locker room where you are changing this is in stark contrast to the Naperville club which continually has at least one person cleaning and mopping and ensuring that the Club is clean.

I love it here. There's good social distancing measures in place and everyone there working out is following them. There's an excellent variety of machines and exercise equipment. Wanted to Update! Came back here from Brickhaus, everyone follows regulations, and you don't get the "I'm better than everyone" vibe. You can get your workout in, and get out no problem! If planet fitness doesn't have enough weights for you then yes go to Brickhaus but you're literally only .1 percent of people in Illlinois!
Its close, nice customer service, and well worth the money. Other places i was looking at wouldn't let me even see their prices like xsport fitness.

First time PF member here. I got a gym membership here because I was told they are clean and are good at enforcing masks. This was not the case. I watched 6 men walk around without masks going from one station to another. I notified the front desk where he told 3/6 to put masks on. One was shocked saying he has never been told that in all the days he’s been working out there!

Wiped down a workout ball to do some core and it was covered in a layer of black scum. I really hope they put a better effort into cleanliness or my membership won’t be lasting long.

It's nice that they're taking additional precautions due to COVID-19. I wish, for the safety of their members, that they'd mandate masks at least for lifting.

This gym is by far the most unprofessional gym I have dealt with!

I cannot believe they actually had the audacity to hang up on me when I was expressing anger over being told different things from different managers. I had to call multiple times to be told that they did not do a hard transfer to other gyms, so that I can cancel my membership in person. When I told them, I was angry, the female manager hung up on me! I tried calling back four times, before I got someone who was able to confirm the mailing address for my certified letter.

On top of that, I also have to pay a cancellation fee of $58 instead of it being waived like it is in other locations.

In other words, don't use this gym. They have horrible customer service. I have never been treated worse than trying to cancel a gym membership here.
