I recently attended the Intro to Pole class at Pole Icon, and it was such an amazing experience! The class lasted 90 minutes and was the perfect balance of fun, challenge, and learning.

Our instructor, Winny, was absolutely wonderful. So kind, patient, and encouraging. She made everyone feel comfortable, no matter their skill level, and guided us step by step with flawless technique. You can tell she has incredible skills, but she also knows how to break things down in a way that beginners can understand and enjoy.

Love this space and instructors! I started my pole journey a year ago and was immediately hooked. The studio is a ~vibe~. I love coming here to leave the world at the door. Classes are so well structured. Great warmups; all the instructors really take time to make sure you're preventing injury, big emphasis on safety and conditioning so you can work up to those inverts! Most classes end in freestyle dancing to get used to putting things together and connecting with the music, which originally I was nervous about but have come to love. Everyone is so welcoming and encouraging, there if you need a spot but will also give you space to work it out yourself. Even if I had a so-so class I always leave feeling inspired. Bring knee pads, pole grip, and socks and you'll be good to go! Thanks PI!

I've been a member of Pole Icons for over 2 years and cannot recommend it enough! I started off with no dancing experience, no flexibility, hardly any upper body strength, and no prior real-life exposure to pole dancing. However, with the support of the amazing instructors, I was surprised by what my body was capable of and how quickly I was able to learn how to pole dance. That's not to say pole dancing is always easy, but if you're wondering if it's something you can do, you ABSOLUTELY can! I am about three months into my pole journey, and Pole Icons + The Brass Ring have been incredible and supportive studios to start as a very beginner. They merged to become one family soon after I joined, so having access to two studios and 2x the amount of classes with one membership has been super cool. Both studios are beautiful, clean, well-lit spaces. Some of my favorite classes have been Pole Tricks to build up and practice moves, Spin Pole once I got a little more experience, and Floorwork has been my unexpected favorite. I’ve never really considered myself a dancer, but I’ve never felt as embodied, expressive, sensual, etc. as getting into this world and becoming more comfortable on and around a pole. It’s really been such a healing and liberating and fun thing for me! Every teacher has been really good at instructing and breaking down moves, and it’s fun to get a sense of their different styles and flair. Birdee, Rosie, Tessa, Mala, Alli, and all have been amazing. The studio owner Aileen has always been so kind and helpful too, and the sense of community there runs deep. I also hear their student showcases are fun. If you’re considering exploring pole, I highly recommend trying an intro or fundamental class, or jumping into the 8-week beginner series, as they’re really welcoming and inclusive to all!

We were all coming from out of state and had never tried pole dancing before, but the staff made it the easiest and most fun experience. I love this studio! I was so shy to take classes at first but everyone here is so welcoming and they encourage you to find your comfort zone at your own pace. All of the teachers are great with handling varying levels of experience per class, whether you're on your first day or your sixth month in they make sure that you are able to grasp anything they are teaching to the best of your ability. I would highly recommend this studio to any level of experience, all the teachers are great and so patient with all learning types. If you don't find your fit on the first class, I would highly recommend trying a different teacher on a different day as they each have such a unique teaching style and you are sure to find someone that fits your learning style.

All the studio’s teachers bring so much joy and thoughtfulness to how they teach and what they teach. They often build on lessons from other classes and ask students for input and feedback. The teachers break down tricks in detail and meet students where they are by offering different versions of moves. AND they make you feel like you can do anything. I wish they were in my board meetings to hype me up the way they do in pole class!

And the students are amazing too! As a studio newbie, I never felt like I was unwelcome in this studio community. There’s NO unnecessary competitiveness among students.The studio's culture is open-minded, welcoming, and fun. All the students are friendly and want to learn with you and cheer you on.

The studio also has something sooooo fun: its sensual series. In the series, you focus more on sensual movement and exploration. For me, this was exactly what I needed when I came to Pole Icons. I was feeling disconnected from pole after the pandemic, and the sensual series reignited a hunger to explore the ways my body moves and what it responds to. I’ve never done anything like it in my pole journey so far, so I'm so happy that I did. The discovery I’ve made about my body has been invaluable and has changed my relationship with myself in a joyous way.

We needed a venue for our wedding welcome event in Wicker Park/ Bucktown area. Leveraging peerspace I found this amazing location. There were a ton of options and services with this amazing venue. Aileen was super helpful as I coordinated the event from Seattle. The team stayed in touch with us throughout the process. The week prior and the day of the event the venue was super accommodating. We were able to have our own DJ and bring catered food. During the event the staff was amazing and accommodating. All of our guests and family talked about the staff and the venue. I cannot recommend Pole Icons enough! I began my pole journey a couple of months ago and was absolutely blown away by the studio, staff, and atmosphere. It is a diverse and welcoming community where people at all levels are encouraged, taught, and able to thrive. I wish I could keep attending classes here forever, but unfortunately I am moving away from Chicago. If you ever thought for a moment that you wanted to try pole, DO IT and do it at Pole Icons!

I started taking pole classes a little over a year ago and it was one of the most rewarding and empowering decisions I’ve ever made! The Sensual Series was a wonderful way to get introduced to pole dancing, fellow students, and start connecting emotionally and physically to my body in new ways.

I took an intro class just to try it in the summer not really expecting much, and kind of fell hard for it. Pole has helped me break expectations for myself- I have never seen myself as a graceful or sensual person and it’s helped me connect with those parts of myself. I don’t have a dance background, I am not flexible at all, but pole has been so much fun. Aileen has built such safe and welcoming environment- would definitely recommend taking an intro class even if you’re the slightest bit interested.

I signed up for an intro class in October and I was hooked within the first five minutes. The instructor took their time explaining the class structure, made sure everyone was comfortable, and asked everyone’s pronouns. The other people in the class were so welcoming and friendly! You could tell we were all nervous but excited, and everyone was super encouraging to each other when we were learning tricks and dancing. I have since signed up for the 8 week Level 1 series and am loving it! Pole Icons has a really great curriculum for beginners. I always feel safe in class and every instructor I’ve had has always been welcoming, motivating, and extremely knowledgeable. The studio takes COVID precautions very seriously as well. You can tell they want their students to succeed and come back, not just because it’s a business, but because the people at Pole Icons genuinely love dancing and they want to share that with their students and grow the community.

Pole icons is truly a pole studio unlike any other. Not only is their studio intimate and stylishly decorated, their classes and instructors are next caliber. I love their focus on sensuality and exploring expression through the body - I’ve completed their entire sensual series and have yet to find another studio (or hobby for that matter) that has made me feel as comfortable, proud and confident in my body as the classes at Pole Icons. Signing up for classes at Pole Icons is one of the best decisions I have made in a very long time. I had pretty much no experience and signed up for their 8 week series. I wanted to try something fun, different, and would help me tap into that divine feminine energy. I got all that and then some! They have a variety of different classes , so anyone can find something they're looking for/works for them. The community within Pole Icons is very supportive and encouraging. It’s a judgement free zone. All of the instructors are phenomenal. They're very attentive to their students, take time to break things down before moving on, and make class really fun! They allow you to record yourself at the end of class (if you want) and it's been fun to see the progress made over time. I feel a lot more confident, strong, and have a better connection with myself (body and mind). Stop hesitating and take the class, it's worth it!

I had to the privilege to be invited to a student show case event and I was extremely impressed by each of the students. The place was clean, decorated nice snd had a good sounds system. Not to mention women getting to express them selves through dance. It was pretty cool to experience each students art form! If you ever get a chance to check it out I would recommend going.

I have loved coming to this studio! The instructors are all so warm, welcoming, and encouraging. It's such a supportive atmosphere and the other students will cheer you on and celebrate your successes with you. Taking pole classes with no dance background can be intimidating, but the instructors have all of the patience in the world to break down the moves and technique to make sure that youre able to master it with good form. Although some classes are mixed level, instructors will modify moves to your level in order to meet you where you're at. Even if you only come 1x a week you'll be able to see progress! The flexibility classes are great as well. The studio itself is beautifully decorated and the lighting makes for a really fun vibe. If you're thinking about taking an intro class, go for it!

1st class is only $10 to see if you like it and believe me. You'll like it. Then you can purchase the classes separately or a discount package. The instructors are so encouraging. You learn multiple new moves each class with proper form. It's such a nice atmosphere and they offer multiple types of classes. It's a different type of exercise and you'll definitely see a change in your body. Taking just 1-2 classes each week, 1.5 months in my body and physical strength has definitely improved.

I started out at this studio taking a sensual 8 week session with Nesli🖤 Nesli’s teaching superpower is the ability to cue you to get out of your head and into the sensations you feel in your body from the warm up to the end of class during your freestyle dance. It’s my favorite. I’ve enjoyed all the classes I’ve tried there so far; floorwork, flexibility, spin/low flow fusion with Nesli, vinyasa yoga with Aileen, and pole tricks with Elizabeth. The instructors offer great modifications and variations to meet you where your body is at that day. Aileen thank you for creating such a beautiful, safe, and inspiring space to pole and practice yoga.

When Pole Icons opened I was BEYOND EXCITED. Pole is not only about learning new skills, strength, tricks, dancing, etc., but it's learning who you are and promotes the most positive atmosphere I have ever experienced... and Pole Icons does all of this and then some! I attended Pole Icons for one month and would have continued but for the fact that I am moving away from the city.The instructors are wonderful - very talented and focused on helping you learn proper form so you can practice safely. The studio is smaller and intimately sized which I enjoyed, too. It's truly a nice and sexy vibe, along with a great workout. The yoga classes at pole icons are great. Audrey is a very active teacher and is willing to tailor the class as it progresses. I highly recommend Vinyasa yoga classes at this studio for anyone interested in a more relaxed yoga routine. They have a more intense yoga class as well focusing on flexibility for those looking for more of a challenge. Memberships are available as well as pay by the class and class packages. The rates are very reasonable.
