Man oh man do I wish this course was closer to home in Milwaukee! But then it wouldn’t probably be the $50 with cart course deal it is. This is what every course should be. Great layout that allows for room off the tees and great conditions. Add that to a great clubhouse and amenities and you’ve got the perfect course. Love this place and highly recommend it

We really enjoyed our time here, it was great. Love the overall setting, the bar, the couch areas, the bays. The food was great and our appetizers and drinks came out quickly. The only down mark was that the rest of our food took a long time to come out. Our time in the bay was near the end when it came, so we felt rushed. Other than that, great experience, and we'll definitely be back!

This place from top to bottom is an unbelievable golf course. It's out in the middle of nowhere but it's worth the drive! Great layout with great conditions and the indoor facilities are amazing . They have a bar/grill connected to their tracer bays! This is a special place!

Probably the best value course in Illinois or Wisconsin honestly. Regularly have deals on golfnow for under $20 for 18 with cart. Carts have GPS. Really for all levels as the tips is over 7000 while the whites are around 6200. Just really a perfect balance of everything. Wide fairways mostly but a couple tight ones. Rough is thick and cut how it should be. Couple doglegs. Bunkers in spots that are risk and reward and many greens are protected by them or water. Really though the condition of the course is always better than some I pay $60-75 to play. Especially the greens. Soft but fast and roll true. Pace of play has always been good for me. I drive over an hour to play this course, probably drive by 15 courses on my way there. That's how much I like it. Highly recommend. Great pro shop with deals as well

What a wonderful, well maintained, and playable course. We traveled from the Peoria area and could not have been more pleased! What a beautiful place on the rolling hills outside of Byron. We were there to celebrate Father's Day at the driving range, and the experience did not disappoint. The parking was plentiful and convenient. Inside and outside was well kept cleaned and nicely decorated.
I reserved our booth online in a very simple process. When we got there it continued to be an easy process. We were met at the door and directed to where we needed to be and instructed how to work the computer in our suite to play various games. There is an indoor and outdoor area to sit with a server that came around often to make sure our food and drink wishes were met.
The dress code is casual, and there were people in everything from jeans and collared shirts to standard golf attire.
I have read on other reviews people said they could hear the raceway a few miles away, but I can say we did not hear anything but the occasional clack of a club connecting with a ball.

Great golf course but they stole from me . I called after one of my rounds I had left my Scotty Cameron on the last green . They said they had it and verified and left a note with my name and number on it . Asked the pro shop for it when I golfed the other day and it was nowhere to be found . I figure the old pro snagged it before he left . Good course but don’t trust the staff . They don’t hold true to their word .

played here for the first time for a tournament this summer, the course Is a great test of golf offering an excellent layout. The greens were PURE, firm, and rolling 11.5, with the movement on those greens it made so much fun to hit into and putt on. the conditions of the rest of the course were world class. I plan on returning whenever I have the opportunity as there is not many places that offer a challenge like this course.

I help another course in Galena area, but get to this place a few times a year and love it. Staff, service, course conditioning and amenities are all top of the game. The layout is just a bunch of fun to play and the greens have been challenging because breaks are tough to read and they can be quick. All this and it's a great value too. Try to get there early and play all day!

This is a hidden gem. I rate this course better than the private courses I play. It's a 50min drive for me. But it's worth the drive and the price is untouchable on a weekend. Great golf course. I have been playing for over 50 years. I have played all over. This is the best. Challenging, awesome maintenance, low rates, and not over crowded. A hidden gem in northern Illinois!
Played again today, April 24. Course is in good condition.

Tried out their version of Top Golf. The setup was so cute. Food was excellent, the pretzel is a must try. I give 4 stars because the ball feed at our lane was broken and the sensors didn’t seem totally accurate. We will definitely be back.

Was worthy of 4 stars on my very first experience here 4 months ago. Since then I've been to this establishment at least 3 times and everytime the quality of service and food has drastically dropped. As of today my group has arrived , got seated immediately but finally got our water and beverages near 15 minutes after.

We had soon ordered a pair of appetizers and had not recieved our food . The waitress has not came back after taking our order to refill drinks/checkup on our food and order. The other patrons have been served and have arrived well after my group.

The last time we had ordered food we recieved poor service , aswell as unseasoned, blan waffle fries.

Other than the quality of service and food. The machinery (Range Servant) had occasional 'connection interrupted' which took a small portion of our reserved time.

Definitely consider to take your business elsewhere (Top Golf) if you want to be served quality food along with refills on your water and beverages.

Turned us away because my boyfriend was black. Literally came in to get a membership and said nothing to anyone and didn’t do anything and the manager said they have the right to turn away who ever they want. We contact Byron police and they said they could do that. Discrimination at its finest.

The golf course has a driving range with electronic ball dispenser and many electronic programs to play. They have fans and heaters for the different weather. The scenery is pleasant since it is located in the country.They have comfortable and cozy seating indoor and out. Their food is out of this world. We had the chicken, bacon ranch quesadilla and the sampler platter. We will most assuredly come back.

I've never golfed here, I just use the driving range. The course itself is beautiful but everything pas the "first cut" is prairie grass. So you might lose some balls. It's on protected Preserve property so everything is upkept. I've used the Prairieview Driving Range half a dozen times. In the winter, it's warm and exciting and in the summer, the food and drinks and company make the place a weekend destination. Try the Italian Beef quesadilla!

Nice course, although on a hot July day, they didn't have a beverage cart going around to help people stay hydrated. The other thing is better signage from green to tee boxes. It was my first time there and it was sometimes difficult to find the next set of tees. Would definitely play there again.

We love this course. Only an hour drive from home. Rack rate is reasonable (we watch for a deal to make it even better). They have a great practice facility that would put optay olfgay to shame. Electric carts with GPS, snacks at the turn and a 19th hole!

Enjoyable in the evenings for winter golf at the range. Nice set up. Love the fire pits but the heaters!! Good lord, way too cold in those bays. Didnt feel any heat other than when we were at the fire pit. Too cold. Won't be back for winter golf. Not enjoyable to try and hit while you are freezing. Summer golf there is amazing. Great course.

This course is just so beautiful and everybody that works here is very kind and accommodating. Today Tim couldn't have been more helpful when I called on the phone with some questions. Then when I got here he continued on with phenomenal guest service. I say the word "guest" because that's how they treat each customer out here.

I was planning on going to go to a another well known great course in Rockford today, but the person on the phone was rude and acted like she was doing me a favor even though they had just ONE tee time reserved during a 4 hour block this afternoon. She was a little too busy to answer my basic questions before i commited to a 60 mile trip out to Rockford. Instead to me it was worth it to drive another 26 miles to Byron Illinois so I could play a better course and be treated like a paying customer. THANKS AGAIN TIM!

I love this facility and I'm gonna keep on coming out here all summer long.

Decided to go to PrairieFire for my friends birthday after hearing about it from some people at work. It was 10x better than I could have even imagined. The interior and exterior are very beautiful and well designed. Nothing is too far away, yet you don't feel like cramped. The staff was very friendly and accommodating with it being extremely busy at the time we went. I've already been spreading the word at work because this place is way too cool to keep secret.

Love the course. It's the management that I have a problem with. 3 weeks ago, after a 2.5 hour front 9, they were letting people go off the back IN FRONT of the people coming off the front. I went in and complained and the response was that they told the group to let us play through and that it wasn't there fault they didn't listen. WHAT? Two weeks ago we had to play the back 9 first because they had league going off 5 hours later. As we rounded the back and moved to the front, they somehow allowed another group to go off 1 in front of us. WHAT. But today was the biggest complaint of all. I called and they said the course was closed because they had an outing. Fine. I have an all inclusive pass (golf, cart, range $1100) so I went and hit the range. At 1:03 (after putting for 15 minutes and seeing the entire course) there was no one on 1 or 2 and a group walking up to the 18th tee box. I asked if I could go play as the front was open and I'd be well ahead of the group on 18. There answer was no because the course was closed. I tried to explain that the first 2 holes were open and that I wouldn't hold up the group on 18. Also, the course was officially opening again at 1:15 so the group on 18 had to be close to done. I understand rules, but sometimes common sense and good customer service should prevail. I regret paying $1100 for such horrible customer service. I certainly do not feel like a valued member.
