As a former client of this studio for 3+ years, there's no place quite like PBLS. I moved out of the neighborhood/surrounding area a little over a year ago, yet my loyalty and admiration for the owner of this studio's location and it's team of instructors remains as strong as ever; the team aren't just your fitness coaches but your neighbors, friends, therapists, and true community.
Currently on the search for another fitness studio/gym in my area now, and just wish every place was the same as Pure Barre Lincoln Square!

This studio is great. I joined in January and have had nothing but positive experiences so far. The equipment is in good shape, everything is clean, and, most importantly, the instructors are all super helpful and very friendly. Nice variety of class times for all class types. Definitely recommend this one if youβre in the area. Only downside is that the lot is pay-to-park (Chicago meters), but at least there is parking right in front.

Iβve been going to this studio for 2 years and canβt say enough good things about it. The teachers, staff, and owner are friendly and knowledgeable. The owner is local to the neighborhood and I like that I am supporting a local business rather than some of the big box fitness centers. The studio is truly inclusive; all body types and fitness levels are welcomed and embraced. The focus is always on your own workout, not comparisons to others, with the teachers offering modifications and challenges to support each individualβs progress. If you are looking for a challenging and efficient workout in a safe space, then I would definitely recommend you check out this studio. They offer weekly free foundation classes, so you donβt really have anything to lose by giving it a try!

I have been going to Pure Barre Lincoln Square for almost 2 years now and I am a convert! I used to have a regular gym membership and could never motivate myself to go but I attend Pure Barre 4 days a week and I love the classes. All the instructors are knowledgeable and friendly. I love this studio, the staff, and the clientele! Everyone is so welcoming and kind. I cannot stress that enough.
They offer a variety of classes throughout the day, and each of them are very challenging in their own ways, but feel so good once you get the hang of it! I started out with the basic 4 classes per month, and now I'm doing unlimited because I love it so much. And the results are REAL. I've never enjoyed working out this much.

I am sorry to leave this review because i thought the people here were really nice till there was a misunderstanding in regards to my membership here. I left a message over the weekend. Somebody called me back today which was fine. However, she was incredibly condescending and rude and spoke to me like I was a five-year-old and told me like four times how I was wrong in what I was telling her. I was under the impression after a three month trial that I would then have to go in and renew if I wanted I did not know that it was an auto renewal thing so now I have been billed for another month and theyβre going to bill me again and I havenβt even been to the studio since Feb. I have a bunch of stuff going on personally with a sick parent and I understand that this is not their problem nor are they aware of this. However, the way the situation was handled just added to my stress and it was the most unpleasant experience Iβve had dealing with a business. I work in sales, and I would never speak to a customer the way this woman spoke to me today- I would be fired.

I love how warm and welcoming everyone is! The instructors are upbeat, and help you make adjustments to form when needed. I love that the classes vary in intensity and style, and the routines are always different. The atmosphere is very supportive and encouraging, which just makes you want to workout more often. And the best part is that these 50 minute(!!!) workouts are very effective!

Each and every teacher at pure barre lincoln square is incredible. Their instruction is on point and so helpful for the experienced barre go-er, to the newbee. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because the classes are a little pricey. All in all a great studio.

I was always very intimidated by Pure Barre junkies who were totally trim and seemingly 'better' than I was just because I was new to this type of workout. Not only do I feel welcome at the Lincoln Square location, the staff are incredibly kind and helpful, the other students are normal people who want you so succeed, and I have really enjoyed my first month learning this new technique. I would absolutely recommend this studio in particular if you are just starting your PB journey but also for continued growth in the workout platform.

When the Barre studio I had attended in Oak Park closed, I found this one which is near my office. I am very pleased with the studio, the trainers, and the front-of-house staff. The work outs are different from those I was used to, but the personal attention I've received in class is making my transition easier. I do theater and my goals are tone, balance, better posture, supported breath; Pure Barre provides all of this. They have a great variety of classes and flexible schedule. Highly recommend.

5 stars! I attended my first Pure Barre class at the Lincoln Square location 6 weeks ago at the recommendation of a friend. I had over a decade of Pilates experience and she thought the launch of their Pure Reform class would be right up my ally. I was hesitant at first because over a decade ago, I went to a different barre studio for a month long trial and hated it due to the large, crowded class size, no guidance from the staff, and impersonal instructors. I pretty wrote off barre forever but am SO glad I gave Pure Barre Lincoln Square a chance!
The Pure Barre experience is an INCREDIBLE full body but low impact workout that challenges every muscle. I find it be the most efficient 50-minute workout around! Plus the instructors are really supportive, fun, great at cuing and have a deep repertoire in order to keep it fresh. Added bonus about this studio is that it is really clean with a great layout and plenty of space. And the community itself, including the staff, instructors and other participants, at Pure Barre Lincoln Square are very welcoming and encouraging with no judgments.
I am now going 2-3 times per week and find myself wishing I could go more if my schedule allowed. Iβll even squeeze in 6am classes just to fit them into my tight schedule. There is pretty much no other workout on the planet I would do that early in the morning!! When I attend Pure Barre, I feel challenged, empowered, strong β in other words - like a badass! I highly recommend giving it a try!

I thought this would be a fun and unique way to shake up my work-out routine. And shake it up I did. I mean I literally shake in the class. The movements are small, but intense. It's unlike any other workout I've ever done, and I'm addicted! I had done some HIIT/crossfitesque training before this and was always nervous that I might inadvertently injure myself. I don't have those same worries with Pure Barre. It's low impact, but high intensity. It really is a complete body workout. The trainers are always helpful and cheery too. I am still working on perfecting my form, but they are patient with me and always happy to answer any questions.

It was fate that the day my doctor told me to add low impact exercise to my routine once I was healthy enough to move again that I also met Cait. Over the last five or so years, I had tried a couple of barre classes at other studios around the city -- including other Pure Barre locations -- and never felt strongly enough about the experience to keep going. Fast forward to last year, I saw Pure Barre Lincoln Square would be opening close to my house so I bought a 10 class package to use with my usual running routine. After a handful of classes, I was totally hooked. For one, the instructors are so nice and have treated me like I was a regular since my very first visit. I usually take morning classes with Cait, Mollie, and Jamie and they're always mixing things up, leaving me with that good kind of soreness. I can feel and see a difference in my body. It was also such an effective workout in the final month before my wedding. (I've never had toned arms and now I do!!) I really do think the community Cait and Rachel have built is one of a kind!

I'm closer to 60 than 50, and didn't know what to expect. The instructors at PURE BARRE are very helpful.
The workout is intense, but moves along quickly. Yes, I admit I have to take some breaks, but it's not horrible. While it is tough, I don't sweat.

Some of the ladies I run with recommended Barre as a great workout to complement distance running, so I picked up a Groupon for Pure Barre Lincoln Square. I'm five classes in so far and I'm obsessed! I've been going to Pure Barre Lincoln Square since it opened last February. My entire life I have been inconsistent about keeping with a workout routine. I've been able to stick with this, because I truly enjoy it. As a full time working mom of 2 young kids, I can't make it in to class as often as I'd like, but I try to go once or twice a week, as this is my "me" time, and a great stress reliever.
I strongly encourage anybody to try it out at least 3-5 times before deciding if it's right for you or not. By the second class you really get a feel for the general routine, and from there you realize that you can modify as needed until eventually you are finding that you are stronger than you were when you started and can push yourself a little harder each time.
The instructors are encouraging and motivating. Every class is extremely challenging, but right when you think you can't take any more, there is some sort of change or brief rest. I appreciate the stretch breaks that break up the different sections of class.

I started Pure Barre as a way to get in shape after gaining quite a bit of wait and becoming really deconditioned. Not only is the staff very warm and professional, but they made sure I felt comfortable getting back into this type of environment. The classes are very challenging but flexible enough for somebody like me AND somebody that looks like a ballerina to both get an incredible, effective workout. I have had a great experience at pure barre lincoln square! I am a runner so I typically focus on cardio and traditional strength training but pure barre is making me feel so strong with such a unique workout each time. The studio is clean and the instructors are friendly. If you don't quite do a move correctly, they assist you. I really enjoy the pure barre workout and can't wait to take more classes!

I've felt welcome from the second I walked in the door. The classes are really tough, both physically and mentally, but they're also really efficient so I don't have to spend all day working out. Within 10 minutes of the first class, I was hooked. The only downside is the parking lot on weekends, but if you use street parking it's not bad.

I loved the fact the instructor walks around to ensure that each participant is holding the pose/ movement correctly . I would definitely recommend this location and class. I really enjoy pure barre/Lincoln square. Iβm new to this type of workout, and I love it! Everyone there is so nice and friendly. All of the staff is so helpful in explaining everything. I love Pure Barre! Iβve been waiting for a barre studio to open up in the neighborhood and finally got around to purchasing a month of unlimited classes a couple of weeks ago. My experience has been absolutely fantastic. Iβve taken classes so far with Annie, Carolyn and Courtney, and they all are wonderful instructors - positive, knowledgeable, friendly and motivating. Their class times are great - love that there is a later evening option in addition to your usual 6:00 - and the workouts are thoroughly challenging. I always leave feeling like Iβve gotten a fantastic workout, which is so important for this busy working mama!
The studio is conveniently located and theyβve done a nice job with the facilities - their bathrooms are well-stocked with a few helpful items in case you need them (think ponytail holders, dry shampoo, that kind of thing) and I love that they have a water bottle filling station in addition to water fountains. No doubt that this workout runs on the pricier side, but you get your moneyβs worth!

Tried Pure Barre since I got a week free and have heard great things. I also have some running injuries so I needed to figure out a way to build back my strength. In only two weeks I'm feeling so much stronger, seeing results and my injury pain is lessening!
Every instructor has been wonderful. They're helpful, focused, clued in to each person in class and they all remember your name!!!
Great experience and just bought my first month of unlimited classes!!

Pure Barre is challenging and completely addictive! While each class follows the same format, the moves always change and it keeps it fun and challenging. The staff is super friendly and are great teachers. I highly recommend anyone to take them up on their offer if a free week of class and you won't regret it!

It's been two years since I hit the Barre... this location is making my return feel just right. It's only two miles from my home, has flexible times, they are very responsive to questions and help ... plus I feel amazing after class.
I took my first PB Class a few years ago and I have to say I really love this location the best.

This is a great addition to the neighborhood! I have lived in Lincoln Square for 13 years and these last 6 month have been the best yet! The classes are fast-paced and challenging. If they are not hard, you are not doing it right. Consistency is key and with the first week free, and a $99 first month, there is no excuse for not giving it a shot. Within the first week, I knew I wanted to do this 5x a week. Lots of class times to choose from and all of the instructors are great. So glad they finally opened!
