I love this studio so much, flexible class schedules and class formats and it’s a great community. Lots of fun themed classes over holidays and the express 30 minute classes usually offered a couple times a month are great when you’re on a time crunch.

Rejoining Pure Barre South Loop in February after a year and a half away was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I’m now in the best shape of my life — physically, mentally, and emotionally — and I owe so much of that to this incredible studio.
The instructors are phenomenal: knowledgeable, encouraging, and genuinely invested in your growth. Every class helps me feel fully present and focused, and I’ve regained so much confidence and self-awareness through this practice. The community here is warm, welcoming, and inspiring — it truly feels like a family.
People around me have noticed the changes, and I tell anyone who asks: Pure Barre South Loop is magic. I can’t sing its praises enough. This lifestyle has become a core part of who I am, and I’m so grateful to be part of it.

Would you like a shorter version for Yelp or a social post too? Or something with a bit more sass or sparkle?

I’m a little over 50 classes in at this Pure Barre location, and I can wholeheartedly say that Barre has been the best form of workout for me. Each class format is challenging in its own way, and over the past few months I’ve noticed a huge improvement in my strength and endurance. It’s something I genuinely look forward to every week!
Each and every single instructor is amazing! they take the time to correct your form, encourage you throughout class, and make sure you’re getting the most out of every movement. The entire studio is so welcoming and friendly, which makes the experience even better. I truly can’t recommend this studio enough and I look forward to continuing my Barre journey!

Love coming to the classes in the studio. I’m not usually a workout person but the variety of class formats keeps me interested and fun. I like that you can choose how hard you want to go and pick the type of workout that suits you best. The instructors are all fantastic - suggest modifications and corrections, and the people who come to the classes make it such a positive and enjoyable experience. Highly recommended!!

Pure Barre South Loop is one of my favorite places on earth. Through nearly 750 classes, starts and stops, breaks with Covid and surgeries and life events, and many years, it is a place I consistently return to and am welcomed back into the community of amazing people working their (ahem) seats off in every class. It is a challenging workout, and because it is technique based, you can celebrate little improvements and wins class over class. If you are looking for a great challenge (physically and mentally) with a great group of people and fabulous instructors, come check it out.

I’ve always been more of a runner and lifter but I wanted to try something different. From my very first class at Pure Barre South Loop, I fell in love with the atmosphere, the workout, and the amazing team. The energy is so welcoming, the workouts are challenging in the best way, and I always leave feeling stronger. I loved it so much that I kept coming back and eventually joined the front desk team myself! Whenever I travel for work or go on vacation, I always find myself missing this studio. Couldn’t recommend it more for anyone looking to switch up their routine or find a supportive fitness community!!

Great studio with truly friendly and amazing owner and instructors and a variety of classes. I discovered Pure Barre through an ad online and signed up for a free class to try it out. For the context, prior to joining Pure Barre I had never been a gym addict…exercising was not my thing… then I joined the studio about a year ago and since then I’m attending 1 to 2 classes a week, and I can truly see my body getting more & more toned… Attending the classes doesn’t feel like a physical torture or boring…it’s actually fun and as your body gets more toned it just gives you the motivation to keep going. My advice is if you’re hesitating, book a free class and see for yourself.

I’ve been a regular at Pure Barre for years now, in different states/locations. Pure Barre South Loop absolutely takes the cake as the best location I’ve had the privilege of working out at. The instructors are top-notch. They’re always friendly, greet you with a smile, provide constructive adjustments, and overall foster that feeling of community every day (even at 6am classes). I can usually only attend one class time, but the schedule still allows for some variation in class type which keeps things fun and challenging. I also appreciate that even the same classes are constantly changing, so it never feels monotonous. Bonus points for a cute, clean studio, always welcoming front desk staff, activewear you can shop in the lobby, and other members that are always friendly/pleasant. Highly recommend!

I’ve been going to the 9 AM class at Pure Barre South Loop almost every day, and it has truly transformed my body. I originally joined hoping it would help with the back pain I developed from working from home, and not only has that pain completely gone away, but I also feel and look the best I ever have. The instructors are motivating, the classes are challenging in the best way, and the results speak for themselves. Couldn’t recommend this studio enough!

After years of going in and out of gyms and home workouts, I decided to take a free class at Pure Barre to see what the hype was about. Three years later it’s been the longest and most consistent workout I’ve ever been able to stick with. Each workout gives me so much room to improve and grow to challenge myself, yet remains a sustainable form of daily exercise where I don’t experience burnout. It is helped my posture, muscle tone, balance, and overall mood. I can arguably say that I was in great shape and athletic going into the class, but now at 35 I’ve never been in better shape in my life. All of the teachers are awesome and the environment overall is very friendly and welcoming!

There are no words to describe how happy I am to be a part of the PB South Loop community. I have never been particularly enthusiastic about working out or engaging in physical activity, but Pure Barre has completely changed that for me. I've been going to Pure Barre South Loop since they opened in July of 2017. Their offering of classes keeps expanding and helps motivate me to attend classes at least five times a week. I have never been stronger, leaner, and not injured like I was when working out at health club type places. If you like loud hip music, low impact smaller movements, and a welcoming community atmosphere, then PBSL is the place you want to be!
********
UPDATE ALERT: PBSL recently celebrated their two year barrenniversary! Still going strong. No matter your age, you will get stronger but be patient. I achieved my 500th class recently because I never got bored. Not gonna mislead you -- sometimes when I am groaning and moaning in class, I wanna give up but it's a sign I'm working the body. Best teachers, great music, wonderful atmosphere.

I cannot say enough good things about Pure Barre South Loop. I started taking classes at this location in the Spring of 2021. I had lost about 35 lbs in the year prior and was in search of something to help me seriously tone up. I took the free Foundations class to learn the basics. I really liked it. The instructor (Meghan) was so welcoming and did a great job explaining different moves and terminology used during the classes. I started regularly attending their “Classic” classes afterwards. I LOVE it!!! The classes are not high intensity cardio but you get a seriously good workout and calorie burn. Within weeks of going 2-4 times a week I started noticing major changes in my muscle tone and shape. I have definition in my arms for the first time in my life (45 years old). Each class is different and challenging but not overwhelming. The instructions are all incredible. They are fantastic at helping with modification or showing you how to adjust one way or another to make sure you are doing the moves correctly and safely. They music playlists are always awesome. The one thing that I really enjoy and appreciate is the diversity of the people that attend the classes. The classes are almost always made up of woman (and the occasional male) of all different shapes, sizes, ages and skill levels. I’ve always felt very welcomed and felt like I belong. I have met some really incredible woman at this location and it’s the highlight of my day when I go. If you are considering trying a class, I would absolutely recommend Pure Barre South Loop. I've been going to PureBarre South Loop for over two years and absolutely love it. The workouts are fabulous- in 50 minutes you cover everything, and I love all three types of classes (Classic, Empower, Reform). The classes flow from one movement to the next so nicely, and it really allows for you to turn inward and find great head space. To top it off, the culture at this studio can't be beat- the teachers are wonderful and so supportive, and I've met many barre buddies; in fact, I know more people in the neighborhood through PureBarre than through my own building. I’m new to Pure Barre and have always looked for cardio workouts as my exercise. I tried Pure Barre a few times and even though I’m not leaving in a sweaty mess, I can tell I am getting a good workout. After a few classes I tried Pure Reform and felt even more muscles getting a workout. I think it’s a good compliment to my cardio workouts to strengthen areas you may not typically focus on in other workouts. Instructors are very helpful and will guide your form and movements. I like that they do the movements with you at first so you can see what you should be doing.

I’ve really enjoyed Pure Barre so far. The staff at PBSL are very friendly and make an effort to know your name. The classes are great and I always feel like I’ve gotten a really good workout (always sore in the best ways). I’ve also done the Pure Barre on demand videos and I find I get a much better workout from actually going to the studio and enjoy it much more in person. The only thing I wish is that there was a little more form correction during class (they do go around, but I think they could do even more), but that’s probably just a matter of preference.

Gone to 8 classes already and I have to say that it is the best fitness class I've taken! It is engaging, challenging, and so much fun! The instructors (Gina and Chrissy) are great at leading and making sure your form is good. It has been a great class for me to tone my body in just one hour (which goes by so fast)! Highly recommend it! Each class is different and you will feel each part of your body tightened up!

I've completed 5 classes at Pure Barre South Loop on Michigan Ave and I'm hooked! Love. Love.Love the workout, atmosphere and instructors. It's a postive - high energy space with a challenging class that leaves you feeling accomplished and invigorated. I can already feel and see my body transforming.
I have issues with my shoulders and an ankle that has a plate and 6 screws. The staff was understanding and helped me modify certain movements so that I don't skip a beat in class.
Truly professional, extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff ♡
I would highly recommend Pure Barre Chicago South Loop !!!

It took me 13 years to finally find a workout I love, but Purebarre made it happen! I was intimidated thinking about attending my first class, but the group at South Loop Purebarre couldn’t have been more welcoming and made me feel at ease. Getting through the class is a ‘good struggle’, no judgements are made if I take a quick break, and I always feel so accomplished when the class wraps up.. needless to say I’m slowly becoming a Purebarre junkie :)

I’ve just recently joined the South Loop location and my experience has been very positive so far. Everyone, both staff and clients are very friendly and welcoming.
If you’re on the fence of trying PB, just DO IT! I’ve been doing it for over a year now and it still challenges me every time. PB is probably one of the few exercises I find challenging and enjoyable at the same time. It’s also a good excuse to keep buying all the cute tops and leggings! ;)
If you’re a runner, give it a try. I rely on PB as my form of cross training. Some of the movements are very similar to my PT exercises. The movements target your glutes, hips, core, legs, arms..EVERYTHING you need to run strong. Runner or non-runner, just try it. You’ll love it!

Yes, you should go! If you want more color, read on.
Almost 20 classes in and here are my thoughts... great challenging class for core, hips, seat and arms. Wish I had listened to my friends and checked it out sooner. I tried another barre class a few years ago and did not like it so I have to admit that when I tried this one I was not optimistic. What a great surprise!
Clean studio, energetic music and upbeat instructors! I had moments of confusion (and still do) as classes move fast but by watching/listening I picked up on the lingo and my technique is constant work in progress.
What keeps me going back (and I will!)? First, the classes have strengthened my weaker areas, helping me with hip/low back issues that I've had for years (note that I modify when needed so that I am strengthening and not re-injuring!). Second, the workouts seem to complement (if that is part of your fitness plan) other cardio well given the focus on weaker areas but even during exclusively PB-focused weeks, I know that I am challenging myself and getting stronger. Third, it is an energetic environment and great place to spend 50 minutes of your day. If you are even tempted to try it, go for it!

I was entirely new to the barre workout concept before I started going to pure barre South Loop, and I have totally become a believer! The 50-minute classes are “low intensity,” but you better believe you’ll get an excellent workout! The class pairs a series of toning moves targeting your arms, legs, seat, and abs with pumping music and an energetic and friendly instructor. While it was hard to keep up in the beginning, after each class I’ve felt my muscles get stronger. Also, the facility is bright and clean. I would highly recommend PBSL to anyone who wants to get into better shape or add something new to their exercise routine!

They have a great staff, and the teachers are super friendly. You feel so welcomed. The location is convenient, and the studio is always clean and organized. The only issue is that the bathroom is in the back of the studio, and the only way to get to it is by walking through the class space. This means you either come dressed to class or you wait for the previous class to end to be able to use one of two bathrooms — and get ready in magic 7-10 minutes before your class. It is doable, but it might be a bit challenging during winter times. Other than that, I think the studio is absolutely great.

I decided to try Pure Barre as a way to supplement my running and improve my overall strength. Even after just my first class at PBSL I knew it was what I had been looking for--it was challenging (in the first 5 minutes I was like "omg this is the warm up??") but not impossible by any means, and automatically worked lots of the muscles I had been neglecting after years of only running. Instructors change it up a little bit every class, so I always leave feeling like different muscle groups have been worked each time. Since starting a little over a month ago, I definitely feel stronger, I have fewer pains and aches after runs, and my posture has improved. The classes are a little pricey, but to me they're worth it--plus, the vibe at the studio is great. Instructors and staff are supportive and super friendly, and they all make an effort to remember names and get to know everyone, which has not been my experience at any other gym or studio.
