I’ve been a loyal Pure Barre customer for a long time, but after this most recent experience I’m beyond frustrated and will not be returning. I purchased a package of classes and ran into one problem after another.
First, one of the instructors came in visibly sick, and I ended up catching it. I was down for two weeks and couldn’t use my package at all. Then, one of my classes just mysteriously disappeared from my account without any explanation. After that, I went into the studio to use my last class credit and the air conditioning was broken—it was unbearably hot and I left. When I asked if I could simply come in the next day to make it up, they refused.
I also asked for online access so I could at least finish the sessions I had left. I followed up every single day, and it still took them FIVE days to get back to me—by then, my package had expired and I was out of luck.
When I asked for a basic extension, they told me the only way I could get one was if I bought even more classes. After years of being a customer, that’s insulting. And to add insult to injury, they won’t stop spamming me with texts and emails asking me to buy more packages—after everything that happened.
Between the sick instructor, the disappearing class, the broken AC, the slow and careless communication, I am done .This is not how you treat loyal customers. Save yourself the frustration and go somewhere else!

I am new to Pure Barre but so far, I love it! It is motivating and the classes make me want to come back for more. It is a good challenge that makes me feel accomplished and stronger with each class. The staff is so kind and welcoming. They don’t just lead the class, they help you through it, guide you, push you, and are there for any questions before/after class. This is the first studio that I feel has a great community and I’m excited to be a part of it!

I enjoy the Pure Barre workout since it provides so many options included in the membership - Classic provides full body low impact workout or if I want heavy weights Define provides a great way to move with weights, Empower is more high intensity workout and to stretch and lengthen I can take Align. The West Loop studio has very friendly staff that are knowledgeable about body alignment and always helpful. You always feel welcomed and it’s like a sisterhood with all the nice people you can meet.

I started pure barre at the beginning of the year to change up my fitness routine and I'm so happy I did. The variety of class formats and having each class different from the last keeps it challenging and fun. Everyone has been so nice and welcoming and the instructors are knowledgeable with corrections and always keep me motivated. I feel like my overall strength, muscle tone, and flexibility have greatly improved. I would highly recommend!

Pure Barre West Loop truly delivers such a unique community as well as a personalized and effective workout.
Instructors and staff are so kind, taking the time to learn everyone’s name and celebrate your milestones. There are different formats for different focuses like balance, cardio, sculpting, and strength though all of them are rooted in the traditional barre method and give you a full body workout! The instructors prioritize proper form with personalized corrections and offer modifications for individual needs. Beyond the barre, a strong community thrives at this studio with engaging monthly challenges and local partnership events with other businesses in the area, making fitness fun and social! It has been quite empowering to be a member over the past year and feel improvements to both my physical and mental strength. 💜 Definitely try out your first free Engage class to start off!

I've been around the block when it comes to Chicago Pure Barre studios and West Loop is my favorite. It's an easy bike ride from River North and there's plenty of parking for during the winter. They best part though is that the instructors are all excellent. They know their stuff and are super friendly and approachable. I never even check who is teaching before signing up because each one of them is 10/10. Another plus is that ownership does a good job of implementing fun programming like outdoor classes or Tuck n Glow blacklight classes (my all time fav).

I experienced discrimination at pure barre today at the location 1170 w Madison street. I was eager to try this class. I originally booked this class last week but had to cancel because my muscles were still so sore from the workout I had at Solid core 3 mins away from this location. So I rebooked this class again for today at 6 am. I arrived at 5:58am and the door was locked. I looked in and seen ppl still stretching. One of the girls seen me at the door but didn’t let me in and then a few minutes went by and the instructor seen me but didn’t let me in. I began to take pics for my documentation so that I wouldn’t be charged for a no show. I still knocked. I even called inside to let her know I’ve been standing there before class started. No one answered. So I walked to my car to just go home. But then I noticed as soon as I turned around in my car I seen the instructor walk out the class to mark me as a no show. So at the point, I was livid because you not only didn’t acknowledge me at the door but you took time out the class to mark me as a no show when I was as indeed there and on time. So because I live 7 mins away. I waited until class was over and went back up there to express how upset I was. I let her have it in front of everyone because you don’t do anyone like that! First she lied and said I didn’t see you at all then when I told her I have pics and a video to prove that she did. She then admitted that she did see me standing there but it wasn’t until 6:05. Just because you didn’t see me until 6:05 that doesn’t mean I wasn’t there the entire time. If she would have acknowledged me at the door. She would’ve known I was there the entire time. And I was on time. You mean to tell me you can’t stop class to open the door to acknowledge a person but you can stop in the middle of class to mark them as a no show. That makes sense right? Lol Now because I recorded the entire conversation with her face on camera and have pics of the times I was there and her name. I was going to take it to TikTok to expose this location and my experience because I’ve never been treated like this at any class I’ve been to but because I know the power and impact it will make and what it will do to a business I’m going to spare her and let God handle it. The owner business and name shouldn’t be tarnished because of one persons actions. I’m a firm believer in forgiving and just letting God handle it. It cost you $0 to be kind and to acknowledge someone. I will never book another class with pure barre but I hope in the future they make drastic changes and be careful with the ppl they hire to run these classes because I can guarantee you that if I had blonde hair and blue eyes. This entire interaction would be different. God bless!

Pretentious place with worst customer service and rude front desk. They told me they are not able to let me in there’s safety concerns and good luck with the used credit. So next time when you visit, be sure to have your hard hat because according to them it may be dangerous in there. I will never go back and will not recommend anyone going there. Disruption is not the reason the front desk cited, rather she emphasized how it is for safety. This is a typical corporate run, take it or leave it operation that reminds me of the horrible experiences at hotels when booked thru travel sites. You will definitely relate- Whenever there’s a problem, expect the corporate people read you some riot act about their “policy” from their books without solving any problem. There are many wellness options in the city and this one is the first EVER that created a very nasty experience at the fist visit though 15 years living downtown. some corporate Not one more minute will be wasted with this pretentious place that mistreats customers. Barr3 west loop is owner personally run and a much friendlier and personable place that’s worth supporting.Stay away from this.

I have only good things to say about Pure Barre West Loop! I've walked by the studio for the last year and finally took a free class in January. Now, I've been going 3-4 times a week ever since! I've found that my strength increases with every class and I'm working muscles I didn't even know I had (Not to mention the 14 pounds I've lost over the last 2 months!).
To be honest, I was hesitant to try this workout. I didn't know what to expect and I definitely didn't feel like I had a Barre body - but with that being said, I've only found encouragement & empowerment from the studio. I've never felt judged or hindered by the techniques; the instructors (especially Sam, Meagan & Margaret) have even given pointers on how to modify moves due to my old knee surgery. The class times are super convenient for anyone with an early morning or late night work schedule. The playlists are also amazing!!!! There was a boy band mash-up this past week that powered me through some serious leg work.
In summary, I would say, if you've ever wondered about taking a Pure Barre class - just do it! It's hard, I won't sugar coat that, but I can't imagine looking back next year and wondering "what if" about finally starting my fitness journey.
(As a side note: I LOVE how involved the owner of the studio is. She is always in an upbeat mood and even teaches classes with great technique tips!)

With thoughtful attention from the moment you enter the studio to during class with personal adjustments and explanation of the space and equipment, to the follow-up via e-mail and texts, the staff really emphasizes the service beyond the product. I really enjoy this studio. I am an absolute beginner when it comes to barre and I have absolutely zero core strength. The classes are easy to follow, the instructors are so friendly, and they're hands on so your form is constantly being refined and corrected which only adds to your improvement. Even after the first class I could feel a pretty significant difference and I've been hooked ever since.

I have been to a few Pure Barre studios across the country (Boston, New York, Aspen) and this is definitely one of my favorites. It has a great "neighborhood" feel and everyone there is so friendly. Even if you're new, they are incredibly welcoming from the moment you walk in. So far, I've taken about ten classes and have loved every teacher that I've had! They give really good corrections to help you maximize your workout and minimize injuries.

I came here out of curiosity and fell in love. I’m a runner, but I’ve been out of running since October. With a marathon coming up in September there was no better way to start working out than Pure Barre! This place has taught me discipline, new muscles I’d never worked, and endurance. I would recommend it to ANYONE who wants to get in shape and have fun while you do it.

When I signed up, I had ZERO idea what I was doing. The Pure Barre Fulton team has been SO great . Every instructor has been so welcoming, encouraging, and motivating. They all help you through the classes and are more than willing to give you individual attention before/after class if you need help or have questions. It is by far my favorite way to start the day, and it's fun to see just how much progress you can make in a few short weeks with the right people guiding the way. Thanks PBF and a big shout out to a couple of my 5am favorites -- Jesse and Julianne! You guys rock!

After running the Chicago Marathon and ending with some glute injuries I knew that I needed to start strength training if I wanted to run another marathon.
I started three weeks ago at the PB Fulton Locations. I have been attending class 2-3 times per week and am already seeing results! PB is a great workout that low impact, but leave me sore knowing that I worked hard.

I was a bit nervous about attending Pure Barre. I'm athletic enough, but was unsure I could keep up in a class or feel like I belonged. Never have I been so glad to be wrong, though. The ladies at Pure Barre are incredibly thoughtful and personable, but are really receptive to their clients' mood. And the classes are sweaty and oh so fun, which I love!

This studio and all the instructors are amazing! Everyone is friendly and experienced and everything is organized and runs smoothly to a tee. I highly recommend this location and Pure Barre in general!

But I have been coming back to barre classes here for over two months now and I really love it. I leave feeling strong, energized and like I accomplished something. The team there is genuine and kind and always there to answer questions. It’s not inexpensive, but for me it’s well worth it!!

After a very active childhood dancing into high school, I truly hated working out in college. After awhile I got used to the gym but refused to take a class.
