I’ve been training at Pure Muay Thai for two years, and it’s truly helped me progress, learn, and grow as a fighter. The gym feels like family to me. Even after moving back to my hometown in Sydney, Australia, I always make sure to return and train at Pure Muay Thai whenever I’m in the US. Thank you for everything, Coach Greg!

The coaches here are extremely dedicated to supporting youth to become respectful, responsible young adults. They go the extra mile to make sure new students are comfortable.
During each class, they do a remarkable job of keeping track of how everyone is performing during the class and maintain a level of order while the students remain active.
I'm very impressed with the overall quality and organization of this school. Kudos to Coach Greg and his team.

I’ve been in combat sports my whole life and in and out of many gyms wrestling, jujitsu, karate, western boxing and now mauy thai at Pure. THIS IS THE GYM YOUR LOOKING FOR if you want to learn Mauy Thai.
PURE really excels above and beyond any other gym I’ve been to. All the couches truly care for your growth in mauy thai. The head coach (Greg) is a straightforward no nonsense kind of guy who will hold you accountable and MAKE sure you excel SAFELY in the sport weather you just want to learn a new skill, get a good workout or want to eventually fight. This is the place!!

Pure Muay Thai is an outstanding gym for anyone looking to train. My kids and I joined over a year and a half ago, and we’ve loved every moment of it. Coach Greg creates such a welcoming and supportive atmosphere, whether your goal is competition or fitness. From day one, you feel like part of the community.
The classes are well-structured, and the environment is friendly and encouraging. My kids absolutely love the kids' classes! It’s amazing to see how much their skills have improved over the past year. The kids' classes are run with a perfect balance of discipline and positivity, and all the coaches are incredibly patient and skilled at working with children.
I highly recommend Pure Muay Thai for anyone considering joining. It’s a fantastic place to train, grow, and be part of a wonderful community!

We enrolled our 5-year-old son at this Muay Thai gym 9 months ago to help him build self-defense skills and discipline, and the experience has been incredible. From day one, Coach Greg made him feel welcomed and excited about the sport. Now, at 6 years old, he's in an advanced kids class, and the growth he's shown—physically, mentally, and emotionally—is truly amazing. His confidence has soared, and he absolutely loves coming to class. If you're looking for a place where your child will learn valuable life skills in a positive, supportive environment, I highly recommend this gym!

I came on the recommendation of a friend. I needed to get in shape and some discipline so it made sense. The coaches have been great. I've lost weight and met some great people while learning a sport I've always been passionate about but didn't have a good place to train. A lot of people have trained here for years. I understand why after only a few months

Pure Muay Thai has been an amazing experience from day one! The coaches are experts in the sport and take the time to ensure that every student, no matter their skill level, receives personalized attention and feedback. They create a positive, challenging environment that pushes you to improve while keeping things fun.
The gym itself is clean, well-equipped, and spacious, providing everything you need for an effective training session. The classes are structured, engaging, and diverse, offering something for everyone, whether you're looking to get fit or train seriously for competition.
The sense of community here is unmatched. The other members are friendly, supportive, and always willing to help you out. I’ve learned so much in a short time, and I’m excited to continue my journey with Pure Muay Thai. Highly recommend to anyone looking to train in Muay Thai or just get into better shape!

Pure is an incredible gym where my kids have been training for about 3 years now. The instructors are amazing and great with the kids, keeping them fully engaged throughout every class.
Each week they focus on a "Word of the Week," which centers around values like respect, discipline, and personal growth.
For more advanced students there are additional opportunities such as sparring, scrimmages, and tournaments. The coaches truly take the time to connect with each student, understanding their unique needs and helping them grow at their own pace.
They also host multiple seminars throughout the year with professional Muay Thai fighters, which are perfect for sharpening technique and gaining deeper insights into the art.
You can feel the respect and passion for Muay Thai in everything the Pure Team does. I’m proud to have my kids train here and to have Coach Greg in their corner. Highly recommend Pure for anyone looking for an exceptional Muay Thai program and dedicated and caring staff!

After discovering my interest in Muay Thai, I looked around for any clubs in my area. When I found out about Pure Muay Thai, I attended their free introductory class, before ultimately signing up for the 6-week-long fundamentals course.
To put it succinctly, I would recommend this school to anyone who has some much as an inkling of interest in learning this awesome martial art.
The coaches are great; they’re strict about technique, while also being patient, as all good teachers should be. The community making up this fitness club is also very welcoming and friendly.
Take it from me, don’t hesitate to sign up!

Great place to train Muay Thai either for fitness or competition. Greg and his team of coaches are enthusiastic and have great respect for the sport and culture and is consistently bringing in high level fighters for seminars and guest coaching which is one of the many reasons this is the best place to train in Illinois.

Definitely would recommend. I’ve been doing Muay Thai for 14 years in the Chicagoland area and have tried many gyms. First and foremost, where this gym shines is technique. If you want to train actual Muay Thai with clinching, elbows, kicks, knees, and punches you’ll learn a lot here. I have overcome my learning plateau here. The gym has a friendly atmosphere but serious where it counts. Ego sparring is going to be an issue at any gym but not so much here.
Additionally this gym is the only gym in the area that offers beginner/fundamental classes to learn good form, instead of most other places where they just have you teach yourself while shadowboxing/hitting pads and develop lifelong bad habits. Even as someone training for over a decade, attending these classes has fixed my technique.
A little about the owner/head coach. (Tigerleg) Greg lives and breathes Muay Thai. He along with many of the other students and coaches have trained in Thailand and are constantly picking up new knowledge to share. Greg even hosted the legendary Thai fighter Karuhat sor Supawon and had him teaching at this gym for about a month. On top of having so many connections in Muay Thai, Greg is also a physical therapist. When I got injured pretty bad he helped regain the use of my shoulder. He really cares about the growth and well being of his students.
All the other coaches are also great. I have 2 kids that train here too and they are having the same experience as me.

I’d give more stars if I could. My travels earlier in life lead me to an abundant amount of mma gym, jiujitsu gyms throughout the country. This was the first gym I’ve been to where I first stepped in for a training session and felt at home. No jitters, no judgement, no displacement. Just an avid group of individuals forming a team and a second family. Coach Greg does a tremendous job of harboring an atmosphere that is welcoming, enjoyable, a hell of a workout, a family atmosphere, and gives you an urge to come back every time. Every single person I’ve met through my year of training here has helped me advance in some form or another. The seminars are always incredible, and the team is second to none. There are people who drive an hour or more(myself included) multiple times per week to come train here. And there is a reason for that. Cannot speak highly enough of coach Greg and Pure Muay Thai. Come out and see for yourself.

I’ve been training at Pure Muay Thai for close to 4 years now. All of the trainers are great to learn from, classes are fun and very similar to the flow of training at a Muay Thai camp in Thailand. Head trainer Greg hosts great seminars of high level fighters, which all members receive at a lower rate. If you’re planning to fight, Head Trainer Greg pays close attention to all his fighters and really makes sure we are at our peak come fight night. If you’re just interested in learning something new for the new year, Pure Muay Thai offers a 6 week introductory course which will equip you with the basics and foundation necessary prior to graduating to the next level of classes.

I never write reviews, but this place deserves one because people need to know how great this gym truly is. I was looking for something that would provide me with an all-around great workout. As a beginner, with no martial arts experience, I have always been too intimidated to try Muay Thai. But, at Pure, I was welcomed and felt very comfortable. The intro classes were so helpful and the best way to learn the fundamentals of Muay Thai. Coach Greg, the head trainer and owner, has a passion for Muay Thai that is infectious. Coach Alex, Coach Miko, Coach Dan, Coach Chris, and Coach Kyle are such great teachers as well, they are all so patient and have a great understanding of the sport! Coach Greg has surrounded himself with such high caliber instructors that each class, no matter the instructor, is worthwhile. They teach to all levels of experience, from beginners to fighters. If you have children, he has an excellent kids program. I have observed their classes and watched how the kids interact with the coaches and how the coaches interact with the parents. It has a very supportive and family atmosphere. I can not say enough good things about this place. It doesn’t get any better!

Greg the owner will extort you for money and try to use the fact hes a small business as an excuse. I am moving an hour away from the gym and wanted to cancel the remainder of the subscription. I paid for 2 months out of the 6 month subscription, and was willing to pay the difference in pay for the different subscription durations. I called Greg to figure out an amount, and was willing to pay up to $100 as a cancellation fee. I explained to him that I wont be using the facility or training under any of the trainers and he proceeded to patronize me and try to tell me how contracts work. I stopped him and informed him that I dont need an explanation, I need a solution. His solution was I need to pay off the rest of the contract, basically stealing my money as I wont use the gym or service at all. This man whos only overhead is to rent a space tried to tell me that my 100 dollars a month are going to kill his business. I would 100% recommend to stay away from this thieving sorry excuse for a business owner. Stay away at all costs.

One of the best things you could ever do for yourself is try this place out. I’ve had the pleasure to work with Coach Greg on privates, taken the classes, and seminars that they constantly offer. This isn’t just a gym, it’s a lifestyle. You will immediately be welcomed with fist bumps, and constantly encouraged from everyone throughout the classes. All of the coaches have their unique spin to classes, which makes you want it all. I’ve been training here at PMT for 3 months now, and it’s truly amazing to already see the difference within; on and off the mat, physically and mentally. Greg is an amazing coach, and his attention to detail is impeccable. Give this place a try!

My kids absolutely love their Thai Kick Boxing classes.
They not only get a great work out, but they also learn discipline and respect.
They moved up to Advanced Little Tigers recently and look forward to the sparring sessions.
It motivates them to work out at home to get stronger. And to jog to build up their cardio as the sparring sessions can be exhausting.
Coach Brian and his crew is amazing. They go to Thailand frequently to train and compete. You can’t fake this kind of passion. Definitely 5 stars.

Martial Arts gyms simply don’t get better than this place. I dabbled with Thai kickboxing in high school but found a lot of the places really intimidating. I have been out of shape and never regularly exercised in almost 30 years. Now, as a 45 year old adult, I was welcomed warmly from day 1. All of the coaches are amazing and take the time to teach you. What really makes this place stand apart are the kids classes. Coach Greg and his team provide the perfect balance between discipline and fun for kids. My twin boys go and literally count down the days until Muay Thai class! We are addicted to this place. The prices are ridiculously reasonable too.

Never thought I'd take up Muay Thai at my age, but I'm still here 2 yrs later and am completely hooked. This gym has become family for me.
At PURE Muay Thai, you'll get instruction on the art of Muay Thai including clinch work. Additionally, the owner and head instructor Greg hosts numerous seminars yearly, given by current and
past professional fighters.
The children's class is perfect for character development and there is also an Intro to Muay Thai class that provides a detailed intro for newbies while also reviewing basics for more advanced practitioners.
PURE Muay Thai provides training for both recreational practitioners & amateur fighters with equal emphasis on learning good technique for both groups.
At PURE you have a coaches who are equally passionate about teaching Muay Thai as they are for their students' well being.
I can't say enough good things about this gym. Hopefully you'll give yourself a chance to find out.

10/10 would highly recommend Pure Muay Thai to anyone! Initially I was nervous to take a class due to having zero experience in Muay Thai or any martial art. After pushing myself to go and give it a try, I can say that after taking several intro courses and a couple technical courses, I decided to sign up! This coming from someone who has always struggled with motivation and working out at gyms in the past. It's a great gym with a great environment, awesome classes with solid workouts, and everyone there is super supportive, knowledgeable, and very kind. The team here is all shapes, sizes, backgrounds, young, older, etc. Here you are challenged and enjoy it! Muay thai has become my favorite workout, I cannot tell you how awesome it is to learn something new during each class. I never liked clinching (I've been participating in boxing, kickboxing, and muay thai for the past 8 years)but I'm starting to enjoy it. Greg breaksdown movements and once you practice it over and over, hey now you want to do it. I like clinching and sparring . Kids classes are offered!!!! put the niños in and burn off some of that energy. Try the class, experience the great positive atmosphere, you'll thank me.
