I stumbled upon Rally Point from ClassPass and absolutely loved it! The instructors are amazing and were encouraging. All the members there are also so nice. I was a little intimidated by the crossfit community but Rally point really changed my view. Highly recommend trying it out!

Iβve found my new home away from home. I joined this gym in January looking for a few things:
1. A community
2. Convenient class schedule
3. Challenging workouts
4. Excellent coaching
RPE checks all the boxes and more. The facility is clean and well-maintained, the people are incredibly nice, the coaches are skilled, approachable, and knowledgeable, and there are tons of classes available along with 24/7 gym access for when you canβt make it to class.
I used to run a martial arts gym, so I know what it takes to build a community like RPE, and this place is the real deal. If youβre on the fence, take the leap - you wonβt regret it!

I have been going to classes at RPE for the last 4 months and WOW what a community. Everyone (coaches to clients) are so welcoming and helpful to newcomers. I am not new to working out nor lifting weights, but many of the movements done in class are new to me (at least by name) so I end up asking a lot of questions. The coaches are super helpful, not just with answers, but also form and performance tips. What I think I love most about RPE is that everyone is accepted, welcomed, and challenged at the current state of fitness, all workouts are scaleable to where you are today, and I leave there utterly impressed and inspired by the elite level athletes I see there. Truly a great gym.

Rally Point Endeavors is an amazing gym and community! I joined a couple of months ago and I have been blown away by the amazing staff and welcoming community. This is my first CrossFit experience and the staff have been so helpful with teaching the correct technique to help build muscle and endurance safely. There are a ton of classes and each day is something new! Half the classes are more full body endurance based, while the others are more strength based, but both classes include both so every class is a great workout!

I highly recommend it. It is a great place with outstanding facilities that cover many of the needs of any athlete at any level in his journey. It is a highly welcoming and supportive community with great coaches. There are different programs to choose from if you want to focus on. If you want to try it, use the one-week trial, but I assure you that you will sign up right away. Here is an extra bonus. It is available with your subscription to train at any time on your own, you have access at any time with your app code. It is a great, cool plunge for recovery and sauna. You are going to love it.

I recently moved to the area and decided to try RP Endeavors after belonging to another CrossFit box in the area and I am extremely pleased. The owner is very friendly and receptive! The coaches are experienced and very welcoming. Even the programming exceeded my expectations with the variety offered. I highly recommend this place!

This gym is very welcoming! I am a senior and wanted to make sure I was not getting in over my head. The coaches have all been very helpful and attentive. They have most workouts modified for my level as I continue to get stronger. I am certainly challenged and I am learning a lot! Also, it is fun!

I was active at another crossfit gym for 6 years before they went co-op without trainers and limited classes.
I took a trial class at RPE and immediately signed up for annual prepaid which is a great value.
I missed the full body, functional strength cross fit provided. RPE has top notch trainers and facility, benefitting from their scale. Strong emphasis on proper technique.
Love this place.

After taking a year off from Xfit, I finally decided to get back into it by taking a class at Rally Point. The gym was clean, well laid out and spacious. I thought the programing was classic Xfit and the trainer was helpful and knowledgable. Everyone was friendly and inviting. Iβm planning on heading back today!

I attended a 9:30 am CrossFit class with Guy. I arrived early and he made me feel right at home. I met a few of the other trainers before class and they were also very friendly. The class was great, the members treated me like a regular, and Guy gave me some fantastic coaching pointers! The place was clean and had any piece of equipment you could want. Iβd definitely recommend checking them out if you are in the area!

I have been to a number of workout facilities on the North Shore and RPE is by far, the best I have worked out at. The staff and the clients are super-friendly and totally supportive. The vibe is so good at this place, that I am working harder than ever. Good range of classes, all of them very effective.

I started cross fit a year ago as a way to remember my father, a life long Marine, after he passed away. I wanted to pay tribute to his disciplined, healthy and buoyant approach to life. I knew I was in the right place to find this the minute I walked into CF Illumine. Beyond the workouts that are carefully and knowledgeably designed is the attention and one on one supervision you receive. The coaches LOVE what they do and their passion for helping you attain your goals is contagious. My 5am workouts have a crew of friends that bring a smile to my face and a belief that you can in fact succeed in anything you put your heart and soul to.

It seems the popular criticism for cross fit is that you can get the same workout at all of these βboxesβ. While that may be true, what separates Crossfit Illumine from any other box is the quality of people. Brian Alexander has created one of the most nurturing, caring and inspiring environments Iβve ever had the pleasure of experiencing. I joined in May of 2017 and lost 66lbs by end of year. The support from both the coaches and members is quite humbling. Cross Fit Illumine has changed and improved my life. Iβm a member forever!

Great coaches. Great culture. Great athletes. Crossfit Illumine is a great place to create a better you. I began with their New You on-ramp class. It was 6 weeks and basically an introductory to Crossfit. I wasnβt sure what to expect but Brian, Donny, Heather and Kai made it a great experience. Workouts are tough and rewarding. Emphasis is placed on form and function over just lifting heavy weights and injuring yourself. You build up and before you know it, you used to scale and now you an go at the RX weight. Well, I made it through that 6 weeks and havenβt looked back.
If you are looking for a variety of workouts, something different every day, and a workout for all ages (members are 17-mid-70βs), this is your place! Come in and try it.

I was introduced to Crossfit a little over 5 years ago. I have been a part of multiple gyms and have experienced the "good" and "bad" ones throughout the Chicagoland area. I can say all of the crossfit gyms offer the same workout. Meaning the WOD and strength programs are usually the same. To me, what makes the difference is the community and the range of experience members at the gym have. Crossfit gyms where everyone thinks they are "regional" athletes, can be unwelcoming to the new members and the coaches only pay attention to the better athletes. The best gyms are those that have people who are brand new to Crossfit and those who have been doing it since this started. Crossfit Illumine is the best gym I have ever been to. The community, coaches, and level of commitment from every member keep me coming back, ready to take on whatever workout is thrown at me. If you are new to Crossfit or might be "intimidated" by what you "think" Crossfit is... give this gym a shot. The workouts are tough but tough enough for everyone to participate. Oh, they also have the best equipment too :) Do not pass this one up. You will not be disappointed.

As a suburban transplant it was hard to gain my stride and get the umph I needed to push myself every time. I went to the gym quite often but became complacent. Not here. The trainers make me want to be better and assist in not just the workouts, but the motivation I was starting to lack. CrossFit or Illumine might not be for everyone, but it is a perfect fit for me. Keep up the great work guys (and gals)!

Joining Crosstfit Illumine has been one of the best life decisions I've ever made. I've been going to various gyms regularly for last few years, I've had personal trainers and tried out various workout programs however, joining crossfit has surpassed all my results just in 3 months. The coaches at Illumine are extremely encouraging and help you push yourself to the next level. Even in a class setting they help you customize the workout fit for you, so you can get the best out of the class. And if that isnt enough, all of the atheletes at Illumine are amazing. I've met many incredible people and everyone's so encouraging, always trying to help you get to your goals. Best gym I've ever been a part of and I hihgly recommend it!

I joined Crossfit Illumine North in Nov 2016. I can't say enough great things about this place. The coaches are second to none. They are knowledgeable and genuinely care. The atmosphere is positive, uplifting & full of energy. I look forward to going there each day. Crossfit works, especially with coaches like these guys. Best coaches ever! If you want to get in shape and do it the right way, this is your answer. Not only have I lost weight, I've gained muscle & strength & no longer have chronic back pain as a result of strengthening my core. Thank you Donny & Kai!

I was open to the idea of Crossfit, even when friends recommended against the trend. The major criticism was the proneness to injury and the attraction to a community that pushes you through workout and, thus, through life as well. The aura generated here is addictive and it was such a high to go to the box each day, get a workout in, and share a few laughs with the members.
Once the injuries start coming in, that's when the feelings wear off. See, as I pushed forward through Crossfit, apparently I had started developing a latent shoulder injury that would go on to hurt me nearly indefinitely. This came primarily from repeated movements with the Overhead Snatch, which you are meant to do multiple times. It started with some pain during the workouts, then after visiting my doctor, I was told my ligaments were incredibly weak and working that arm would make you prone to near-debilitating circumstances. This put me out of commission for at least six months until I could visit a gym again.
Was this helped at Crossfit? Well, yes and no. Coaches there legitimately care about your well-being, but are not trained in exercise science or orthopedics so their best suggestion is probably, "switch your workout to this movement in the meantime". The other issue comes from the fact that you have to sign a waiver form from the beginning saying Crossfit Illumine isn't responsible for any injury incurred or the condition known as "Rhabdo", which basically means muscle death that could result from their workouts.
But not all is bad from a membership for a small period of time. The coaches at Crossfit teach you good form for many of their movements during the "On-Ramp" course, emphasizing pushups, pullups, ring-rows, etc. That was beneficial even at the $200 price point for the month. But I am happy that I built that muscle memory of proper form. The problem is that they have single coaches for up to 20 members per class and cannot monitor your form always. This is why you can simply look to your right and observe someone doing the form for any particular workout terribly. Then it's no shocker that they come back in a few weeks complaining about some pains in their body.
Despite this, I was always a stickler for form. I am now a member with Planet Fitness and am able to apply many of the things I've learned during my time at Crossfit to my workouts there. I'm able to still work to a very intense degree using designed WOD's combined with strength workouts (minus much of the stupid movements that got me injured in the first place) and, in only three months time, I have built significant lean mass all over my body.
Honestly, most anything that gets you out of the house and moving is okay for you. But understand that the movements and intensity to these workouts are not based in any scientific fact for how to maintain a healthy lifestyle. These workouts have the potentially to irreversibly damage you body which would counter the health benefits you receive.
My best recommendation is to do the "On-Ramp" program with Crossfit Illumine and maybe stay on for a few months to build that muscle memory of the form. During that later period, maintain significant caution with any workouts involving a barbell as these are very harmful. By the time those two months are over, drop your membership and apply and/or modify those movements at a local gym like X-Sport or Planet Fitness. If you build that mental toughness, you will save more money as well as excel further as an athlete. The "aura" of false camaraderie will be very tempting when you join Illumine, but understand that that is the centerpiece to the Crossfit business model == "the illusion of camaraderie and community with a bad fitness paradigm". Resist the temptation and you will be stronger for it.
