Heard this gym cares more about forcing members to workout as punishments for eating than they care about listening to member feedback. My advice: find a gym where their definition of healthy isn't one size!

Great gym! They’ve dedicated spaces for yoga, boxing, powerlifting, and general workouts, with plenty of open space. This gym offers a wide variety of equipment—just recently, they added a new machine and upgraded their cable machine attachments, which shows how much they invest in the facility.
Not only do they provide cleaning wipes, but also towels and spray bottles, which is a nice touch. The gym is clean, the staff is friendly and polite, and you can tell the management is truly committed to maintaining a top-notch experience.
Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a well-maintained, well-equipped, and welcoming gym environment!

I started coming here with my teainer a few years ago; joined Reps as a member one year ago. Best money I’ve spent in a long time! This gym is an excellent no BS place to workout. Everybody is there to improve themselves. Although Reps is a decent sized gym spread out over several rooms (a 100+ year-old building) it doesn’t *feel* too large—a definite bonus to me! It never feels too crowded. Plenty of machines, free weights, etc. Other benefits I have yet to explore include in-house personal trainers, plenty of fitness-related classes, nutritional guidance, and more. Last, but not least, the staff working at Reps are fantastic—they help create the positive vibe and sense of community that I feel of when going to workout at Reps. Always helpful, always positive! They are a good deal why I keep coming back to Reps! 💪💪😎

Save your money, your health, and your dignity.
I am writing this review after being a member of Reps for approximately two years. My membership ended yesterday in the most unprofessional, disrespectful, and unbelievable way possible. If you are even thinking about joining this gym, please save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere.
The gym facility itself is in a state of significant neglect. The building is old, the equipment is worn, the floors are uneven, and there are often visible leaks coming from the ceiling. Adding to this already poor environment, the air conditioning, specifically in the group fitness area, has been completely broken for an unbearable two months straight. This has occurred during a period of record Chicago heat, making the conditions not just uncomfortable, but frankly dangerous. While there are other areas of the gym that are technically cooler, the group fitness zone is essential for my workout routine, and the layout/usage prevents me from fully utilizing other areas. This severe, long-standing issue is something I, and numerous other members, had complained about multiple times over the past two months.
Given that the manager is reportedly based remotely in Arizona and not available for daily, in-person interaction, I decided to email her directly yesterday after yet another promised fix date for the AC passed. I explained my frustration about the persistent, dangerous heat in a key area of the gym I pay for, highlighting the general poor condition of the facility as well. I asked for an update on the repair timeline and inquired if, given that a significant and essential portion of the facility was unusable and unsafe due to the extreme heat, they could offer some temporary accommodation or a discount on my monthly fee. In that same email, I stated honestly that the continued failure to address this major issue or offer fair compensation would lead me to share my experience publicly, such as by leaving a Google review.
The manager's written response via email was nothing short of shocking. Her initial reply to my legitimate concern and request was an incredibly dismissive and unhelpful "go workout somewhere else." When I responded via email explaining why that wasn't a sufficient solution given my routine and the fact I'm paying for a fully functional gym, and reiterated my request for accommodation and intent to review, the situation escalated instantly. Without any prior warning, any attempt at further discussion, or any professional courtesy, the manager sent a follow-up email stating that I was immediately banned from the gym and my membership was terminated.
To pile on the insult, I had just paid my $100 monthly membership fee the morning before sending my email complaint. When I responded to her ban email requesting a refund for the month I was now instantly prohibited from using, the manager's written reply was the utterly nonsensical and insulting statement that I "should have complained yesterday." This was a blatant and dishonest attempt to avoid refunding my money, completely ignoring the fact that I (and others) had already complained about the broken AC multiple times over the preceding two months of extreme heat. It was a flimsy, written excuse to keep my money while arbitrarily banning me via email.
As a final, petty measure, she stated I am also banned from using the gym via ClassPass.
This gym is suffering from severe physical neglect (uneven floors, leaks, broken equipment, and two months of dangerous AC outage during record heat) and managed by someone who is remote, unavailable, and reacts to legitimate, repeated member complaints with dismissiveness ("go workout somewhere else"), hostility, and immediate, written bans with zero warning. To treat a long-term member this way, refusing a refund after banning them via email for simply asking for a discount on a partially unusable facility and mentioning a review, is disgraceful and potentially fraudulent.

Great neighborhood gym! The owner, Christy and the staff are very professional and accommodating. I have been a member of the gym since 2018, will not go anywhere else. The gym is clean, very organized, and has a variety of machines/free weights to use. If you are thinking about joining a gym, I highly recommend you come check this place out!

My wife and I were members at Reps 2022-2025 while living in the West Town area. This gym was great in that it had very pleasant staff there, wide range of equipment in great shape, and overall was consistently clean. The gym isn't overly crowded, and the gym doesn't turn membership too quickly, which helps with the experience. Would recommend this gym to anyone within driving distance.

If you are a conservative this is a good gym (it’s listed on Public Square, a self described “pro-life, family and patriot” website). If those aren’t your values, you may want to look elsewhere for a place to work out.

I like this gym because it reminds me of the Arnold Schwarzenegger era of bodybuilding where the gym has everything you need and is properly suited with relevant equipment. It’s not bare bones per se, because they do have a boxing training area, a Pilates, and yoga studio, and even a cafe. Though, there is a sense of careful investment throughout the gym. You can tell that the owner(s) put thought into purchasing equipment that his visitors would use, and less of the nice-to haves. In a good way. The gym doesn’t seem to be the kind of place that spends on the newest fitness trends, for the sake of it. The equipment and resources available can and will transform the body, this has been proven, as much of the machinery is comprised of the classical body-building toolset employed by Arnold, Franco, and the like. I can’t say enough good about it. I’m looking forward to my next workout!

REPS has been fantastic. I've been a member for several years and had only good experiences.
They have kind, helpful staff, a clean facility, and you can actually use the equipment you need to use even during peak hours.
Basically, if you've had the average gym experience where everything is awful, just know REPS is the opposite.

Best gym in the city! Professional staff and high quality gym equipment(and lots of it). I never have to wait for a squat rack. The facility and equipment are severely outdated. Roughly 3 of 8 treadmills are out of order. There are not enough variety of classes throughout the week and there’s a high attrition rate for trainers. $95 for a premier membership is absolutely not worth it for the amenities you get. There’s plenty of better options in West Town.

Be careful when you ask to freeze your membership regardless of the reason. You will be charged with hidden freeze fees, which i wasn’t warned about prior. When asked to reactivate my membership after 6 months of hiatus, was told I had to cover back charges or pay an enrollment fee again as a new member (even though I already paid for this less than a year ago). Take your business elsewhere!

I love the community feel with a lounge, cute little funny signs. There are lots of different options for workouts; CrossFit, yoga, Pilates, unique exercise classes. I attended Rachel’s vinyasa flow today and it was wonderful. Tailored to individual needs and helped me feel I tune with myself while improving my alignment and awareness. A wonderful workout! She offers hands on curing for performing the poses and is appropriate for all levels. Only thing is I wish that there was more advertising for the yoga class! It is wonderful and I want everyone to experience! Aside from the class I was a bit dissapointed by how long it takes for maintenance of the treadmills. Despite this, Very glad I joined the gym so far.

I have had a membership with this gym for about a year and a half. Nobody notified me that my membership expired. So I asked to renew it for one month before moving. The first guy I spoke to agreed and said it was no problem. Then as I was leaving, Zach the manager, approached me and told me I needed to pay for the deluxe membership and I can't just do the basic one. I wasn't notified that my membership was expired via email and nobody told me while I was going to the gym, but he didn't care. Zach was extremely unprofessional with the way he handled the situation pressuring me to spend more money than the basic membership. Zach mentioned that it's not the gym's responsibility to monitor the membership, it is the member's. I should have been notified by an employee or email stating the membership was going to expire. They would not allow me to renew the membership unless I upgraded to a membership that is double the cost per month. This is an extremely unprofessional gym.

07.2021
1 month shy of 3 years & my membership was terminated "immediately" for bringing in a friend to challenge me with my workouts after I sought to change from a basic membership to premier membership.
That friend was Broderick-who was not rehired by the gym when they re-opened-but whom I continually kept apprised of my routines thru-out the past yr. He was working out with me not standing by watching. The immediate termination was emailed to me by the gm who now resides in az.
It is ok, as I can work out at home or go to a closer gym. I got tired of searching for the smaller wgts & reracking the real heavy ones to use the equipment. Bring your own towel as the dryer is broken. I am giving this a median rating as the gym was a positive for me up until this.
I will miss many of the staff who are still there and so many of those who work out - good luck to you all !
03.07.2020 REPS has added a second Saturday Camp REPS class at 2:30 pm for those who cannot make the 11am class. There is a new boxing instructor. Matt has added small group personal training sessions.
For those who are not seeing results from their sporadic self motivational attempts come on & try the 7 day trial !!
01.04.20 Took the 11am Camp REPS class today as usual & got a taste of the new Monday 6pm course. What's your personal endurance level?
You have a structured & timed class that YOU pace yourself on to survive.
For those who "workout to their own pace" put down the cell, take out the earbuds & see what you can endure in an hour that's truly timed. I made it through & LOVED the challenge.
12.22.19 Body fat lowered & muscle mass up. Weight down & dead lifting weight up. I dropped the Thur yoga class as I upped my personal training to 90 minutes. Premier membership is great as I take the Sat class with Broderick, his Tues evening class then fly into Stephanie's yoga class & take Matt's Thur evening class.
Just heard Broderick is going to have a Mon evening class & already wonder if my 57.5 year old stamina could manage it.
Had Mike as a class sub-tough on cardio but it was a good class. Boxing looks like fun.
The gym is lighter & brighter now that bigger windows have been put in.
In other words : REPS fitness is great.
Today, A08.05.19 is just shy of 1yr working out at REPS.
2 strength & conditioning classes a wk, 2 yoga classes a wk & a personal trainer-Broderick- once a week since January.
My stamina & strength has increased and for a 57 year old that is great!
REPS has helped me accomplish more than I ever thought possible.
Initial postings below:
I walked in 4 months ago with little hope of firming up and regaining strength. I never tried working out at gym nor attending classes instead working out at home on basic floor excercises.
I love the Tuesday evening yoga class and am thrilled that they worked out an arrangement for the instructor - Stephanie - for her to add additional classes. I have signed up for her Thursday course also.
Broderick, the Camps Rep instructor for the Saturday class is wonderful at watching that routines are done properly. I have just hired him for personal training.
EVERYONE at REPS is so friendly & professional. The gym is clean & machines varied. Come on by.
The personal training are paying dividends. I am more toned and less flab even though I think I have only lost 3# but more than a few inches overall. I can feel it and love it.
My personal training with Broderick is honing in on the problem areas of maintaining form and balance while still working on strength training. At 6 weeks in, I am scheduled for a weight and measuring - which I do not fear.
The flexibility from yoga is transforming as is the understanding of using ones breath to de-stress. Broderick's Saturday end of class burn out sessions are character building.
Christi - the manager has subbed each of the classes and her love of fitness and care about the gym is evident.
It took a few years of laziness to put on the flab and yet after 6 months I am getting the assistance I need to take it off - thanks to the people at REPS.

I love this place. Great gym with a lot of options for different training styles. Owning a gym during a pandemic must be very tough but management has done a good job navigating the chaos of Covid by continually updating safety protocols as the guidance becomes available. Wanted to sign up - went for a trial day with every intention of joining...almost no masks anywhere. Even with a sign on the door saying mask required I would say 30% of the people there had one. Most people didn't even have one in sight. Not really a covid nut (hence going to the gym) but c'mon. Feels like they're worried about ticking off the members who are annoyed about having to wear a mask...probably losing more business by not enforcing it. Won't join even after this ends out of pure lack of regard for safety.

The gym itself (equipment and space), amazing 10/10. The fact that they don’t require masks during a pandemic, 0/10. Highly problematic!! Honestly, for your own safety and others around you don’t go to this gym, not worth the risk.

While I found the employees kind and helpful, and the gym very beautiful, I have to fault REPS for it’s terrible mask policy. None of the employees wear masks, and the front desk attendant told me that they expect sick clients to self-report their symptoms and stay home. Besides the fact that you can spread the virus before you notice symptoms, this decision seems /highly/ irresponsible. I can understand why someone sprinting on a treadmill would lower their mask, but there’s no excuse for the stationary front desk attendants. This is completely ridiculous and will haunt this location. DON’T BECOME A MEMBER if you value your personal safety.

The Owner Phil only care's about money and the General Maanger Christi doesn't know how to operate a gym. As the fitness manager I signed up individuals for training. I also had to help cover up sexual harassment done by the previous general manager and the fact he stole a couple thousand of dollars from clients. I was hired knowing by the gym I had to renew my certification, which I was working I told Christi I needed to do.a cpr certification, in the mean time she stole my clients. Then they terminated me and paid me my final pay check 5 days late. Upon receiving it, it was about 500 dollars short. I called Phil the owner bc Christi wouldn't communicate with me, Phil ended the conversation saying it wasn't his problem and he didn't have time to worry about something so little and he was done talking to me.
