For me, the indicator of a great trainer is an emphasis on structure and flexibility. Not building the headline muscles for the sake of aesthetic but focusing on the pieces that hold everything together and their interrelated movements. My daughter recently took an interest in Volleyball.
After years of playing Soccer & developing into a talented goalkeeper, we thought she had found her sport. Then, she tried out for her school’s Volleyball Team & made it. She told her Dad & I; she was ready for a new challenge. We found Simon after several camps were either cancelled or immediately filled, as all this occurred, during our city’s struggle with Covid.
Simon responded immediately to our request for private lessons, which felt safer, more reliable and offered excellent, individual focus. He was patient, professional and most importantly, effective. Simon focused on form, conditioning and consistently redirected our daughter. When she got off task or felt deflated, he always maintained a “can do” attitude that translated to our daughter’s play.
Last week, our daughter tried out & made one of Chicago’s premier Volleyball Teams. Simon was the first person we told!! His coaching shaped our daughter’s tenacity into a much improved team player. Our family is grateful, that even during this difficult period, Simon helped us overcome some of the obstacles of Covid & successfully push forward!!

I started working out with Simon earlier this year after being intimidated for years to start lifting heavy weights. On top of that, as a female, I was also anxious to workout with a male trainer.
Immediately I knew that Simon was the type of trainer who would approach my goals with thoughtfulness and no judgement. He met me at my level and quickly dismantled any myths I had about lifting heavy weights, or my own potential when it comes to weight training. His focus is on his clients getting strong, not on a specific weight or aesthetic goal.
He encourages healthy training habits, focusing on the building blocks of strength movements, ensuring appropriate recovery, and never shames you or puts you down as a means to push you further. He emphasizes training smart, and really has helped me understand the importance of recovery in an environment where we are frequently told to focus on getting as many training/cardio hours in as possible.
If you'd asked me at the beginning of 2020 if I, a petite female, would be deadlifting 190lbs, I'd think you were crazy, but now I'm only going up from there thanks to Simon.

Simon is worth every cent. I never considered myself to be out of shape, but I wanted to get back to the look I had when I was competitively boxing. Despite working out (sometimes twice a day) and eating what I thought was “healthy” (low protein and just a lot of greens), I couldn’t manage to get my old fighter physique back and was getting frustrated. I heard Simon speak at my company and thought I would give his nutrition concierge service a try.
By working every day with Simon through WhatsApp on the nutrition aspect, while still working out, I was able to drop 13 pounds (197-83). More importantly, I went from 22% body fat to 16.5% body fat in the course of just under 2 months. Through Simon’s support and knowledge, I have been able to maintain this body fat % and weight by continuing to apply his learnings to my day to day food intake.
Simon has changed my relationship with food in the best of ways and, in turn, I have been sleeping better, performing at a higher level athletically, and have been genuinely happier overall. Simon was supportive throughout the entire process, I never felt judged and I came away with learnings I can apply for the rest of my life. Highly recommend!
