Excellent center! Just finished an inspiring and enlightening beginner's meditation class and learned so much about spiritual practice. Bharata Ji knows his stuff! Am starting hatha yoga next.

Great introduction back to yoga. I've practiced off and on for years but it's been over a year since my last class anywhere. 90 minutes didn't feel too much. I felt well informed, supported, safe and welcomed. I will definitely be returning.

Awesome instructor, a little bit of everything, stretching, meditation and Indian Yoga chanting. A lot of work, but also enough of meditation with the lights turned off to end the session. Definitely worth a for people on the Northside of Chicago, or, for anyone for that matter. Inexpensive at $ 17 a session, but also ways to earn points for free sessions.

Ok, please let me tell you how I felt before I came to this Center in October of 2022. I had a feeling that I was falling apart: I had no energy, I could not concentrate, my body was inflexible, I did not want to do anything, I had to see my chiropractor frequently because my neck or back constantly hurt. I woke up every single day with a headache (you should see my collection of pillows! I tried to find a perfect one: nope, did not happen). I took one class (no joke), and I felt that I am whole again. It has been a couple of months since I started taking classes twice a week. I have not visited my chiropractor once, I have much more energy and positivity, and I don't have any headaches. The difference is unbelievable! During the last relaxation part of the class, I literally feel like happiness streams through my veins. Try it yourself (you may want to give yourself several weeks until your body starts feeling at least somewhat flexible, but it's definitely worth it!).

We really enjoyed our beginners yoga class. This yoga is the real deal and not like the yoga at your local gym. We felt amazing after this class and hope to return soon.

What a beautiful yoga community! I got hooked on the satsangs every sunday night - silent meditation, chanting, and a discussion of yoga philosophy. The teachers are so caring and insightful. All traditional hatha yoga - the way it's meant to be practiced!

For me, the Sivananda Center is a beacon of light and peace in the city. I feel better just walking in the door. The physical space is bright and cheerful, the staff and teachers are welcoming and caring and there is a diverse and interesting community of students. It is professional and has a laid back and approachable vibe; no fancy yoga pants needed.
I took my first class at the Center about 3 years ago and have been attending classes consistently since then. What I love about the Centerβs classes is the simplicity and authenticity of the practice. I feel aligned and energized after each class and the effects of the class stick with me.

True to the foundation of what teaching Yoga should be all about. Patience, kindness, focus, with just the right kiss of spirituality, whether you're a believe or not. Gets every part of our bodies moving and working while gently pushing us further and further into the zone. I have been coming to this location for almost 20 years and being one that struggles with discipline and hits the wall often, yikes, I always feel welcomed and non judged on my inevitable return. I love this place and the energy it exudes.

This place is heavenly. I became a member in September of this year. I was a complete beginner and am now absolutely in love and obsessed with SIvananda Yoga. This place is excellent for both beginners and seasoned veterans.
I took Yoga I with Ehsan and am now in Yoga II (also with Ehsan). Class sizes are intimate so you receive a lot of attention and feedback from your teacher as you move through each pose. You determine how quickly you progress throughout the course but your teacher will know precisely how and when to encourage you to challenge yourself.
I recently began attending open classes as well which are bigger in size but just as attentive to your form and progress. I purchased a monthly pass (unlimited visits) and get great use out of it. There are many other options for purchasing drop in cards, etc.
Lastly, I highly recommend becoming a member if you are serious about learning/continuing this style of yoga. The discounts are terrific and you'll be supporting a truly wonderful space.
I look forward to taking the positive thinking and meditation course in the near future.
