I attended a trauma-informed yoga training here and learned so much. The yoga teachers are well trained and provide a very safe, regulating, and therapeutic environment!

I cannot rave enough about this place. Inclusive, trauma-informed, engaged and collaborative with the community. I always feel better after a class here! Sometimes they host classes at the riverfront market or Wildlife Prairie Park too! LOVE, check them out, you will not regret it.

I’ve been going to prenatal yoga with Hannah for the past several months, and it is the highlight of my week each week! Not only does Hannah know all the right stretches to help out with the pains of pregnancy and prepare for labor, but she also creates a calm and welcoming environment where I can leave the stress of the day behind. I honestly did not expect to enjoy yoga at all, but I love it! I’m looking forward to continuing to take classes after giving birth. I would highly recommend Soulside Healing Arts to anyone interested in yoga in the Peoria area!

Great spot, Abi was the instructor tonight and she conducted a professional and comprehensive class. She answered any and all questions, gave advice on how to make moves more or less difficult, and was very polite. Worth the time!

The new studio in Washington is very nice and I am excited to have it close to my home. I took the MELT class with Joyce and it was great. She is so smart and explained the purpose of the technique and how our bodies should react and benefit from it. I am anxious to try the other classes Joyce teaches, as well as some of the other ones offered.

I had the best Sunday morning here! I’m new to the area and new to yoga and was very anxious but as soon as I walked in the doors I was welcome and put at ease. The girl at the front desk was so friendly and showed me around and the instructor, Jamila, was kind and explained everything so well. The environment feels so comfortable - the smell, the high ceilings, the floor, I loved all of it. They also have all of the supplies (mats, blocks, blankets, straps). I can’t wait to come back. Definitely gonna start being a regular thing.

It was my first time doing Kundalini yoga and being at Soulside Healing Arts, and I loved it! I'm a beginner at yoga, but Davpreet was very patient and knowledgeable. I'll definitely be back!

During the at-home order, I was able to download a class, as well as attend weekly streaming, and it was a huge benefit to my at-home practice and my well-being. Soulside online offers not just excellent instruction, but the ability to connect with patient, kind local teachers to help practice mindfulness during these difficult times. The virtual studio is well worth visiting. Thank you!

Soulside is, of course, well worth visiting in person when we're able to again. Soulside is a beautiful studio, and I loved attending Hannah's Friday morning class. I also was able to attend the weekly Farmer's market classes offered by Soulside a couple summers ago, and absolutely loved it. The Soulside teachers are the best, and the community-oriented mission of Soulside is just... fantastic. Lovely. (I don't know, how do you write this in words? Soulside is great!)

Soulside’s virtual studio classes have become a regular in the my weekly routine. The variety of classes let’s me keep my yoga practice fresh, and I love that they are staying true to their mission of staying accessible to those who need it most even with their virtual offering. Thank you Soulside!

Today I participated in my first class at Soulside. Jamila’s Yin Yoga class was up to snuff with every class I took while living in Los Angeles. She gave detailed, caring guidance through the poses and offered mindful advice to newcomers and experienced yogis alike. I’ll definitely be back! :) The only critique I have is that it was a little cold in the studio, my hands and bare feet got kind of chilly.

What a wonderful space to practice yoga! Fellow students and teachers alike are so kind. I've never felt so at ease attending a yoga class before. I wanted to attend some more difficult classes ever since I felt I hit a wall with my home practice, and the adventurous vinyasa did not disappoint. Plus, you're supporting a non-profit with a great mission. What's not to love?

I visited Soulside Healing Arts for the first time and it will definitely not be my last visit. The space was very peaceful and calm. I went for yin yoga with Jamila and it was amazing. Loved everything about her calm presence and the safe space she facilitated.

I love everything about this studio. It's a comforting space, they offer loads of interesting classes, the teachers are incredibly experienced....but most of all I admire that this studio seeks to make yoga accessible for all by offering a pay as you can model. They also go out into the community, to social service agencies and public schools, to BRING yoga and mediation to those that need it most. When I go, I pay a little extra to help fund their efforts to improve wellness for everyone, regardless of economic ability. It's so nice to support a local business that has a meaningful vision beyond just making a profit!

Soulside is everything I have been looking for in a yoga studio. SO inviting and accessible to every human. A beautiful, safe, and peaceful space. Authentic, approachable instructors. Authentic yoga. Janie is an amazing instructor.

Soulside Healing Arts is an exceptional yoga studio in Peoria, Illinois. Besides amazing teachers who care about students, including learning their names and knowing about them personally, the studio aspires beyond teaching yoga, working toward "decreasing socioeconomic stigmas and actively creating a diverse, inclusive place to practice" which it does through its classes and teachers. As a new student myself I cannot think of a better place to start; I have felt welcome and comfortable despite trying new and unfamiliar things, and it is clear that others who have practiced for years are not just comfortable but able to continue learning from a variety of teachers with tons of experience, drive, and who care about individuals. Maybe because of the example set by the vision of the studio, the other students have been as friendly and obliging as the instructors.

Soulside is an incredible studio that offers diverse classes and workshops to help improve the clients it serves. The studio space is ornately designed with a minimalistic approach that welcomes to new and returning clients to relax, grow their practice, or try a new class. The instructors are passionate about their practice and offer helpful approaches to getting the most out of the classes. If that wasn't enough, they are the first non for profit studio in Peoria where they are actively giving back to the community and breaking down barriers to leading a healthy lifestyle. I can't not recommend this studio enough. Try it once and you will keep coming back!

Soulside has been my safe space since it opened in June (2018). The physical space is gorgeous and the teachers are so engaging and very grounded in a strong spiritual practice.

So happy to have this resource in Peoria!

I LOVE the space at Soulside! The natural light does so much for the soul. I have attended a variety of classes from Gentle yoga to Vinyasa flow classes and have enjoyed every one of them. The staff does a great job of making sure everyone attending is informed of what they are doing. My heart is always a little lighter, my mind a bit more at ease, and my muscles more relaxed after a session at Soulside. Check it out!!

I usually need a little push to set aside time for yoga or working out but Soulside really draws me in which makes it much easier to integrate into my regular schedule. The space is beautiful, comforting and run by a group of people who really understand the needs of the community. Soulside is a treasure in Peoria and I'm so grateful for all that they do.
