SPENGA Bloomingdale is located just off of Lake Street and Bloomingdale Road. Our studio is lively and inviting. Our staff is personable and knowledgeable. You will notice that the owner, Carrie, not only welcomes you behind the desk, but will grab the mic and lead you through a sweat filled session. The music is always pumping and you are sure to have a great workout and a fun time!

I have been a member of Spenga for 4 years. The concept of 20 minutes of spin, 20 minutes of weights, and then 20 minutes of yoga is genius. It is such a great workout that I have been a member for four years and have attended over 350 classes. It is the first and only workout I have stuck with and it is because the workouts are unique, the instructors are phenomenal, and I feel great.

I’ve never not enjoyed a workout here. All of the instructors are amazing, but I especially recommend taking a class with Beth or Carrie. The combo of spin, strength and yoga is perfect for hitting all the necessities (cardio/endurance, strength training, and recovery/flexibility).
As a parent, I absolutely LOVE that they offer childcare during some of the classes (for a small additional fee). With kids, it can be a challenge to find time to invest in yourself, so the childcare option is so appreciated! It saved my workout routine this past summer and the kids room teachers are wonderful - both of my kids enjoy going, so it’s a win for the whole family.
The only things I can think of that would make this studio even better would be offering a 5 am or 5:15 weekday class for those with earlier work hours and a shower for those who don’t have time to go home after a class.

Absolutely amazing studio!! I’ve been going for over a year now. It’s a great workout that’ll have you addicted to the results. All the instructors are so sweet and knowledgeable. They know when and how to push you and also when to make accommodations if you’re struggling. I also love that the studio is so involved in the community. They are constantly running fundraisers and attending/hosting events. Love this place!

I play soccer regularly but i love coming here during the off season to stay in shape. The spin portion is great to get your heart rate up to really make you work hard in the strength portion. Then finishing off with yoga really helps mobility. Some instructors are more intense than others but thats ok! Gives all skill levels a chance to try it out!

I've been a member of Spenga Bloomingdale for 5 months now and I absolutely love the format. I get bored easily in my workouts and I am never bored in Spenga! I needed to incorporate cardio into my workouts but I cannot stand doing cardio! So, 20 minutes on the spin bike is just right for me and I've gotten better at it and broke through to new levels. The format of 20 minutes of spin, 20 minutes of strength, and 20 minutes of yoga keeps things interesting which I love in my workouts. The strength portion is different every day which is also a nice variety and because it's a HIIT format, I also get my heart rate up. Yoga is a good way to end the workout and so necessary. The owner, Carrie, is super friendly and accommodating and the instructors are very positive and always give modifications which is so important. I would definitely give Spenga a try. It's efficient, covering cardio, strength and flexibility in one session. You'll be hooked!

Spenga offers the perfect workout trifecta. Most specialized workout facilities completely ignore the benefits and importance of yoga. Spenga builds it into their circuit - every workout is 20 minutes of spin, 20 minutes of strength training, and 20 minutes of yoga. The 3 holy grails of prolonged health and fitness!
The instructors are amazingly supportive and kind. Fitness levels of the clientele vary from very fit, to people working out for the very first time. There’s no intimidation factor walking in here. Each workout can be modified to match your personal fitness level, and your Spin “zones” will automatically adjust based on your performance.
I’ve been coming here for 2 1/2 years, as have many others who workout here (if not longer). It’s a great gym for both beginners and advanced athletes. Also, did I mention the yoga?!

I purchased a block of classes after trying it twice. I've gone five times now and would recommend it to the following people:
1. Want the motivation of a trainer but not the feeling like your the center of attention - being encouraged not pushed.
2. Want a quality workout with some variety.
3. Want to workout with others who care about their health without being over the top.
4. Want to have the capability to easily sign up/cancel classes with easy to use app.
I have always appreciated that instructors know more than I about working out but I've never appreciate feeling pushed to the point that I feel my workout days later. After taking five classes with several of the instructors I've noticed differences in styles and personality but all with an encouraging factor not a pushy demeanor. They encourage you to challenge yourself but also do what's right for you.
I like the 20/20/20 that typical course offerings are. 20 min of spin, 20 min of different exercises with weights, TRX, etc using working on different parts of your body and finally 20 min of yoga. It results in pushing myself, toning my body and stretching and relaxing my mind at the end. Try it at least once to see what it could be like for you.
I've worked out in groups of I'd say 25-30 people and they are good about adjusting the lighting so you see what your doing but never feel like it's too bright. This is good for those who might feel a little intimidated trying a new class or perhaps trying this out for the first time.
For the spin they start you off with a certain range (which adjusts over time) so you are following the instructor at your own levels of fitness. Same with the weights you choose. It doesn't matter your level of fitness here as everyone goes through the same class but within their own range and that's what's really kind of cool about the experience. I've watched the instructor help me with the spin bike set up minutes before the class as well as the other new comers so maybe get there 10-15 min early to your first class to have the time to get that personal hands on help.
Lastly I'd share a tip. This is not a gym so you don't come or go. These are classes you can book time for and after you decide you like it and purchase a block or a package you can use the app to schedule/reschedule. This means they are closed outside of those classes so if your looking to learn a little more or wish to speak with someone you need to call them when they are having classes.

SPENGA @ Bloomingdale Rocks !! This concept is phenomenal & engaging! The instructors are fantastic. They keep you moving and make you feel individually competent. In just 9 sessions, I improved my mobility, strength and endurance. I can actually hold a plank now!!! Yoga has improved by lower back pain and my forward stretches have improved. I'm hooked!! After a garbage year due to COVID, I was looking to get back into the gym. After looking around, I thought it was worth checking this place out. From the first communication to now (about 8 months), I discovered that the staff and the owner didn't only care about getting you in the door, they care about YOU. For me SPENGA is my happy place. There are not many places I’d feel this comfortable walking into looking my worse & some days feeling my worse. But the community at Bloomingdale makes you feel strong & proud of every little accomplishment. By the time the session is over, I’m like wow, I just did that & everyone else is like, yes yes we did. There is no judgment in this space only encouragement. You are there to do what you can at your own pace. The format is 20mins of spin, 20mins of strength & 20 mins of yoga. The Best Workout Ever. I look back to when I started my SPENGA journey only to see how far I’ve come & I’m always in awe. I still remember my first session & I am forever grateful for the invitation to that free session. After a traumatic knee injury last summer and a former avid OTF member, I needed to find a similar workout that is less harmful to my knee and still get a great workout. I was actually recommended to this by my physical therapist and I am in love! The workout format is great (20 minutes spin, 20 minutes strength and 20 minutes yoga) and I don’t leave the studio with knee pain. In addition, all the coaches are so nice and care about their members. They have consistently checked on me during my workout because they know of my knee situation. And the best part is how motivating they are to keep you going! Not only do they pick killer music, but I love at the end of our yoga session they recite a positive quote for the day. An amazing way to start my day and continue my fitness journey! Love love love SPENGA!

I visited the studio for my first complimentary class in February! I was greeted by Violet, she then made sure I was situated in the room and explained everything in full detail. I met up with her after the class where she then explained the awesome memberships. I didn’t think after one class I’d be ready but hearing her speak about spenga was inspiring! And I was ready for change and did it! THANK YOU VIOLET. And Here we are mid July and I have zero regrets! The instructors are great! Carrie, Michelle, Mallory and Beth are all who I’ve seen and they all embody Spenga! So motivating and high energy which is what you need for the environment. If your looking for a gym that’s motivating enough to come more then once a week, and go to a place where they know you by name, and no judgment zone. Spenga is for you!
