SPENGA's format of 20 minutes of Spin, 20 minutes of strength training, and 20 minutes of yoga combines the three pillars of fitness all in one 60-minute group training workout. I’ve been going to Spenga for a while now, and it’s become the one workout I never skip. The instructors are outstanding. They push you hard but they pay attention. Rick, Meghan, May, Theresa - every one of them knows how to motivate without overdoing it.

The 20-20-20 format fits me PERFECTLY. I get strength, cardio, and yoga in one hour, and I walk out feeling stronger each time. At 56, I’m kicking it harder than I did years ago.

Gina, the owner, is just as impressive. She’s responsive and worked with me to suspend my account while I was traveling. That kind of flexibility matters.

This was an excellent combo of spin, strength, and yoga. Rick was my instructor and his Playlist was amazing! He was super encouraging and I never felt pressure to do more than I could. I also liked that they turned down the lights to work out. It made it feel more fun and less focused on straight fitness. I had a wonderful conversation with Rick afterwards of him expressing this was a place for escape from the real world some days more than it was just for fitness. Joining Spenga is honestly one of the best decisions I have made for myself! I was unsure about how challenging 20 minutes of spin, 20 minutes of strength, and 20 minutes of yoga would be but I’ve been coming for over 7 years now and I will never workout anywhere else. I have been a runner, a crossfitter, and trained independently at various gyms, but nothing has transformed my body and mind the way Spenga has. The workouts are incredible and no two days are ever the same, yet I’m still as challenged as I was on day 1. I look forward to each and every session at Spenga. The trainers are motivating and are always rocking a positive vibe that keeps everyone going all hour long. The community of athletes that choose Spenga truly embody a you vs you attitude. The instructors are phenomenal and staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They offer modifications for injuries if needed and are mindful of correcting form. I wish we could do more with resistance bands and target the frontal and transverse planes more during strength. Most exercises are performed in the sagittal plane. From a life standpoint, we move in all three planes to function so I would like to see more functional exercises that replicate authenticate movement which includes movement in multiple planes. The members are also very friendly!

SPENGA is such a satisfying workout. The instructors are fantastic (Amy, Megan, Amy, and Rick are favorites!) It’s not only a serious and accessible workout for all ages and experience levels, but also no one is there to show off or compare. I was reflecting with a friend recently that it doesn’t feel like your typical gym experience where you’re intimidated or distracted by other people. The class was great . What wasn’t great was the front desk girl LEAH. I walked
In and she’s having a full blown conversation with someone who’s already a member . She told
Me to check in (the sign in tablet was dead which I couldn’t even do so ) she didn’t say excuse me , or I’ll be with you in a minute , not even a how are you ! She talked for 5 minutes to two different ppl and left me standing there awkwardly . It was uninviting .
I later found out I wasn’t even in the system I booked
My appointment last week ! So why wasn’t I put in the system . I drove 37 min to this location ( Mokena) I
Can’t say I had the best experience . If the
Class was full I would have missed an opportunity to experience the class because she didn’t even add me to the date . First impressions mean everything to me unfortunately I won’t be back .

I came as a quest to check it out and it does remind me of Orange theory as the concept is very similar. The time is broken down into 20 minute intervals .

Great energy, instructors, and vibe, however the bikes are unreliable and tethered to your performance which is broadcast on the screens above. If you don’t mind inconsistencies in your performance and achievements (as the bikes are never calibrated the same) then this place is your jam.

Previously, I had tried quite a few different workout routines. In joining Spenga, I found what works for me. All the instructors inspire you to challenge yourself, and the variety in the format keeps you moving along. I now look forward to, not only the workouts, but the relationships built with the instructors and fellow members. My husband also is a member. Highly recommend Spenga!!

Super nice gym and people are friendly. However it is very hard to get into a class. Then they offed another option to pay an additional fee on top of the 159 unlimited to book earlier to get a spot. I tried to cancel the membership but was given a hard time that I had to pay a cancellation fee of $159 in order to cancel, however when I signed up I was told to get the sign on price I have to pay additional two months (which I did).
