About the Club

StretchLab was created to help increase flexibility, range of motion and energy in people no matter what their age, body type or fitness level! StretchLab Hyde Park offers one on one assisted stretching and group stretch classes in a fun, open and communal environment. Our one on one stretches can be 25 or 50 minutes long and we offer drop-in or monthly memberships. All of our Flexologists are highly trained and create a custom stretch routine for each member. Our innovative group stretches offer a unique way for members to reach their flexibility goals. Group stretches can be purchased individually or as a monthly membership.

I worked with the StretchLab team for about 3 months all together. I signed up for the month-to-month subscription where I had 4 50-minute sessions each month.

The Good:
- All of the flexologists are great and bring their own unique spins to the stretching. I especially loved working with Kaya because she came from a yoga background (similar to me) but was really knowledgeable about targeting and stretching certain muscles and building up strength while also stretching.
- The front desk staff was awesome. Thank you Ashley and Zee for helping me book and cancel last-minute appointments, and generally being super positive and energetic!
- Everyone is really friendly/super nice, and the assisted stretching really helped me stretch and target certain areas that would be hard to do on my own. I also never felt like I was pushed past my limits and the flexologists always checked in to make sure I was okay when I wanted to challenge myself.

The Not-So-Great:
- I received a promotional discount and was told that I would stay at that rate. However, once the promotional period ended, the rate went up. That rate increase was specified in the contract but the conflicting information wasn't great.
- After you cancel, you're still obligated to one more month. Again, it's in the contract, but it sucks you can't cancel that month and be done.
- I'd love to continue using StretchLab but the pricing doesn't make sense unless you get locked into the month-to-month contract. I'd love to do a session or 2 each month, but I couldn't buy a single class, I needed to buy a class package that was expensive upfront and each class worked out to about $100+.

All in all, I'm glad I tried StretchLab and I had a good experience.

I love that they have technology to assess your tense areas, so they can maximize each session! It's street parking only, so i would definitely recommend arriving a little early.

This will likely be some of the best money I have invested in myself. Jerome was very thorough in explanations during our assessment session. He gave clear descriptions of what he was doing, why he was doing those movements, and what I could expect.

I have some physical limitations on one side. He easily adjusted what he did to accommodate them. Although my next sessions will be with a different coach, I am confident I will see good results.

I really like the vibe in this place. 🙂

This was my first appointment and it was an amazing experience. The intake facilitator Ashley set the stage by being warm and welcoming. She asked me about my reasons for visiting Stretch Lab, target areas and my overall end game in mind. She was also very thorough in explaining all membership plans and especially those that would suit my needs.

My flexologist Jori was simply amazing. Jori was very thorough in explaining the details of my stretch pre assessment which included areas that needed to be focused on for my first stretch. Jori was excellent during my stretch session. She explained the purpose of each stretch and constantly communicated with me if I was feeling any pain or discomfort and if it was OK to go deeper in my stretch. Jori truly made me feel comfortable emotionally and physically.

I have signed up for one of the membership plans and am truly excited about StretchLab being an significant part of my wellness journey and self care routine. Thank you Ashley and Jori.

Beware: gift cards expire rapidly. My husband bought me a gift card from this place for Mother's Day. Being a busy mother, I did not have time to schedule my session until two months later. Come to find out, you have a scant 30 days before gift cards expire at this place, so they effectively just walked away with my $100 Mother's Day present. Disappointed in this policy, which I feel is not good for working people.

I booked an appointment for myself and my boyfriend after completing a half marathon and dealing with IT band issues. I found out about this business through the Chicago Half Marathon offers. Scheduling the appointments was easy, and I was informed that there would be a $50 upfront payment for each introductory session, which I paid without issue.

However, a few days later, I received a cancellation text for my appointment even though I had never canceled it and had already paid. I called immediately to ask why it was canceled without my authorization. They explained the therapist would be unavailable. I told them I no longer felt comfortable with their service and asked to cancel my boyfriend’s upcoming appointment as well. I also requested a full refund for both appointments. They assured me I would get a call back and refund.

Since then, I have reached out multiple times but have not received my $100 refund. One of the appointments was canceled without my consent, and the other was canceled by me well in advance due to their poor communication and lack of professionalism. I still have not received my refund and will continue to follow up until I do. Stretch Lab Hyde Park, if you are reading this please reach out to me to resolve this situation, I have called several times and get a recording to leave a message.

Very disappointed with this location. My trust in them, and my experience as a customer, went downhill as soon as I tried to cancel my membership. I initially requested to freeze my account, which they did for one month, but they never informed me it would ONLY be one month. They said it would cost "$15 monthly until you are ready to unfreeze your account". The following month, I was charged the full amount, even though I believed my account was still on hold. I had no idea my account had been reactivated, since I received no communication or notification.

When I asked to cancel, I was charged a $25 cancellation fee and another full monthly fee, because of their 30-day cancellation process. And I had to continuously follow up with them with call and emails for communication throughout the process.

The contract is overly rigid, and they fail to provide a clear understanding of what you're committing to. The lack of transparency, combined with the high costs, made the entire experience not worth it for me. So please make your own decisions about what you're willing to do with your budget, because the actual stretchers are good, but be wary of all contractual obligations. I hope in the future they choose to take a more human approach and really work to offer their customers a better experience.

The reasons I gave a 3 star review when I wish I could’ve given 5.
1- Lack of transparency . When you sign on you have to agree on a period of 3 months before you can cancel . When proceeding with cancellation the process takes a month which you will be charged for . Also a 15$ cancellation fee . I was told of the 3 month sign on requirement, none of the others though.
2- if you’re into any kind of training that involves a good amount of mobility such as yoga , Pilates etc then you will have limited options with the practitioners as they vary in experience. I will say that If you have a good attitude and are patient you will at the end have a wonderful session as they’re always willing to learn.
3- lack of PM sessions . This makes it tough for the 9-5 workers . They did say they’re working on this though

How the tables have turned on my opinion of this place. Can I say first though, that Destiny and Andrew are AMAZING! I had an injury on New Year's Eve that I was almost for sure I'd have to have surgery for until Destiny stretched me out and now I have no pain in my knee. I have really looked forward to my stretch appointments but unfortunately I will no longer be able to come back because the management of this location is challenged. They have a really immature receptionist who told me I was demeaning when I told her that I would speak to someone else about how many sessions I had remaining because she couldn't figure it out - but apparently that hurt her feelings - which she told me I could call back when I was ready to act like an adult, and hung up. Now if you've gotten this far - please keep reading. After my shock of being talked to like that for a simple scheduling call - I call back to cancel my membership - as any normal person would - because who talks to a paying customer that way? I'm literally just trying to schedule an appointment. I never get the cancellation notice from the woman. So, I go there the next day to once again attempt to register for my remaining sessions and ask for cancellation documents because I just can't support a business who tolerates this kind of behavior - and the receptionist at that time (there are 2-3 different people who work this position) asks me was I sure I wanted to cancel - and I was just like, I have to stand by my word. This young lady is a liability to this organization and honestly, I need an apology. I asked that the owner reach out to me. Michael, one of the owners, then calls me the next day and says they are going to refund my membership - I said okay - but I'm still due one stretch from the current month, which he replies well I'm not going to charge you the cancellation fee of $15. Well I want my $70 if I'm not going to get my stretch - which then he replies - well we've had complaints about you in the studio - which I said, excuse me? Because I went into your establishment to schedule a visit that I couldn't make over the phone and complained about how I was spoken to? Oh, I guess you don't want others to hear that you have a rude receptionist? When I reiterate that I want my $70 back - he hangs up on me. Never in all the days I've been alive have I seen someone double down like this on bad behavior of their own business. A thoughtful apology could have gone a long way - but you did the 180 degree option and backed the rude receptionist. I'm so glad I cancelled. Not only have you lost a good learning opportunity for your receiptionist, but you lost what could have been a loyal customer. Just a shame all the way around. I like to support Hyde Park businesses - but this one unfortunately I cannot.

I joined Stretch Lab because my doctor recommended that I keep limber as I get older. Jerome was my technician and he’s awesome! The stretches have definitely increased my range of motion. I highly recommend this place. I feel great after leaving my sessions. They are new and working out the kinks (if any). Ask for a demo and you’ll feel the difference.
