I was out of boxing for two years when I arrived to Chicago from Florida, reluctant and picky because I thought I wasn't going to get the level same of training, but boy was I wrong! Sweet Science Boxing Club, is Excellent and far beyond that. The attention to detail in boxing technique is what every fighter looks for in training! Even if your are just looking to train and get into shape and learn how to defend yourself, this is also the place for you! Pete is the best!

Hands down, best boxing gym I have been to in Chicago. Megan and Pete are both great trainers, and I have learned a lot from them. Unlike other gyms, they focus a lot on footwork, technique, and strategy as opposed to just sweating you out. Every class is different, and they challenge your endurance, coordination, and ability to focus under pressure. If you want to beat on a heavy bag for an hour, there are franchises for that. If you want to learn how to box and get a great workout, check out Sweet Science!

Sweet Science Boxing Club is A SURE BET!!! Not only is the boxing gym spotless, CLEAN and cozy with the just the right amount lighting, but they also have a basketball court where they train their members!! Peter, who is the head trainer/owner IS PHENOMENAL and PROFESSIONAL!!!
He truly CARES about people by pushing them to be their BEST and by giving you all the tools you need to be successful inside & outside the ring!!!

Sweet Science Boxing club (SSBC) is like a home for me. All the people are motivating and make classes fun and inviting. I have boxed for several years and have been to 15 different gyms to train. Out of all the trainers I have worked with Coach Pete is the best. His knowledge of the game is unmatched by anyone I have trained with or against. His attention to detail in every aspect from footwork, pad work, stances, power, and speed make him the person to learn from in Chicago boxing. He is continuosly learning and his drills are fun while teaching you things you dont even realize you are learning. 7 years ago I decided I needed a change from the big gym chain where I was working out. I'm a "class" person and a friend suggested I try a Sweet Science Boxing class. After my workout I thought WOW - that kicked my butt but was so fun. 7 years later I still leave every class thinking the same thing. Coach Pete and Coach Megan have taught me to push myself beyond my limits. Every class is different and concentrates on teaching proper boxing technique combined with aerobic and strength training. Boxing provides a great workout and has many health benefits because it constantly requires you to think, change your position, and change your posture developing upper body strength and tightening your core. It's a great aerobic workout and helps improve your brain function. Coach Pete has put together a space that includes all of the latest boxing equipment with a variety of bags (not just the long bags you see at the boxing chains), as well as agility and strength equipment. He is constantly adding and improving what he offers. I consider SSB part of my family. Our classes are diversified (young and old (I'm 55), extremely fit and those of us that are working on getting there, women and men, tall and short) but most of all, a bunch of non-judgmental, welcoming people who want to share their love of boxing. Come check out this gem of a gym and let Pet and Megan show you a kick your butt work out. You won't be disappointmed.

I’m probably one of the first members to join SSBC... this place has changed my life! I’ve joined many clubs in my day and this workout surpasses all of them. After years in the fitness industry and as an endurance athlete I was looking for a new challenge. Sweet Science Boxing Club was exactly what I needed. Coach Pete and Coach Megan’s classes are challenging both physically and mentally. GREAT workout!!! I have been doing strength training at Sweet Science for a few years. I do a personal session weekly and a small group session weekly as well. I've tried almost every workout around, including group boxing classes in downtown Chicago, and Sweet Science is by far the best. In addition to an incredibly challenging, full-body workout, you also learn boxing technique and train like you're going to fight.
