Seriously, if you're looking for a fitness community that actually feels like a team, Sycamore CrossFit is it! The positive energy and welcoming atmosphere are second to none—no intimidation, just motivation.
The coaches are great; attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in your progress. I love that the workouts are always intense and challenging, but the scalability is the real game-changer. As a 63-year-old member, I must admit that I felt a bit intimidated when I decided to try Crossfit. However, I’m thrilled to say that this gym is an excellent place for people of all fitness levels. The coaches here are incredibly knowledgeable and take the time to understand each individual’s fitness level. They tailor workouts to suit each person’s abilities, which is incredibly encouraging and supportive. The community here is also very welcoming and friendly, which makes working out a lot more enjoyable. It’s ALMOST as if they’ve made working out fun! ;) Highly recommended!

I’ve really loved my time at Sycamore CrossFit. The programming is excellent and provides a challenging balance of cardio and strength training. I can get in and out in an hour with a great workout. I was recommended this gym by a friend. I was told that it was a place where I could push myself to my physical limits and grow while also having support from the other members there.
After a month of attending, that's exactly what I've found. Everyone there is supportive and encourages you throughout your workout. The coaches care and will take their time to help you with your form and tell you when they think you should hold back.
I feel like there is actual care in this gym to help you with your own personal fitness goals.

As a 50+ year old woman who hadn't done a gym workout in 3+ years, I cautiously yet desperately called Sycamore CrossFit and scheduled my first training session with Coach Carl in October 2023. My #1 goal was to build strength in my core and lower back in order relieve the consistent back pain that I'd been living with. Carl listened and coached me through some initial movements and simple (yet incredibly effective) core/breathing exercises. In the 3.5 months since I've been a part of the Sycamore CrossFit family, I have achieved my #1 goal...that consistent back pain is now only an occasional inconvenience that I deal with! In addition, I've dramatically improved my ability to do squats again without incredible back, hip, and knee pain (thanks to Carl and Coach Michelle), I've regained confidence in my body's ability to do more, I've recruited the best gym partner ever (my 13-year old son who consistently joins me at the 5:30am class, 2x/week), and I've conquered my FIRST EVER ROPE CLIMB!!!

I love CrossFit. I had never workout in a gym before and was really nervous to join a gym knowing I did not have a lot of knowledge of working out. CrossFit made me feel welcomed and really helped me get start on a great workout plan. The coaches are all so nice and encouraging. I was very recently handed a gift! A one-hour Nutrition Coaching Session with Coach Emily at Sycamore CrossFit. It’s crazy how so many of us think we are “eating healthy” when in fact we are not eating healthy, or enough healthy/beneficial foods at all. I have just begun this journey, with baby steps, but am excited to see where these changes will take me. I look forward to the accountability that this program provides, because honestly, it’s so easy to “want” to make changes, but will you, unless you have someone holding you accountable? We’ve all heard the same story from TV commercials. “I lost 85 pounds in three weeks.” “I have more energy and strength”. “it’s a miracle weight loss program”. Come on, we all know what is healthy and what is bad nowadays. Vegetables and proteins are good. Processed foods, sugars and carbs are bad. That’s why every commercial for any weight loss diet has a caption in the very small print at the bottom of the page “along with a balanced diet and exercise.” What is hard to do is not committing to it for a day, for a week or for a month. I mean really committing to it changing your lifestyle completely.
2 1/2 years ago right after Covid I had enough I was very overweight I had tried running. I had tried planet fitness. None of it worked. My work schedule is crazy. I work in a restaurant. We work long hours. I had foods that were quick and easy and fast. I also loved bad foods. Breakfast was Lucky charms, toast, and OJ. Dinner was frozen pizza, cheese, and crackers and chicken fingers. Please don’t forget the Mountain Dew lots of Mountain Dew. I knew it was bad but the how to change eluded me. Thats when I decided to step in to Emily‘s office.
I will never forget the first day. Talk about scared. I told her right off the bat that I was not happy she was going to take away everything I love to eat. Right then and there Emily did something that I think makes her a great nutritionist. She put me at ease. She told me that they were going to be three ways that we are going to attack this. #1 she told me i will never tell you that you can’t eat that. Instead I will show you better options to eat. #2 she told me we will take it slow. We will attack my diet one food item at a time. #3 she told me I will teach you to better prepare for your meals and snacks that will be just as fast as the unhealthy meals I was eating.
And that’s what we did. We chipped away at it attacking the soda. Then we attack the next food and the next food and then we attacked my schedule and how to prepare for meals ahead of time 2 1/2 years later, my diet has completely changed. My fridge is filled with peppers, broccoli, spinach, and vegetables. Gone are the pizzas and fingers. My wife is still stunned at what her fridge looks like now compared to what it look like then. I started at 36% body fat and now I am at 26%.
I still don’t know how she did it. I am a very stubborn person. Change is not something I like to do. Plus, I don’t like people telling me what to do but Emily has a way of turning your fears into motivation. Making you believe you can do it by taking it one step at a time. She never overwhelms you. I could talk on about Emily. It’s easy to do. Emily is a wonderful coach. She found a way to break through my shell. She pushed me through the plateaus and praised me through my victories. My journey is not complete. Remember, she taught me that this is a life change. A life change that I am loving right now. I could never thank her enough.

Sycamore CrossFit is excellent. I started going here with a new job just down the road from the facility. The staff is welcoming and encouraging and you get a great workout in. All the workouts can be modified, so depending on your physical abilities, comfort level, or injuries, the coaches will work with you on your particular movements for the workout. If you’re a busy professional like me, they have a 2 times per week membership and the full workout only takes an hour!

Sycamore CrossFit is a fantastic place to work out! Prior to joining, I had no experience with CrossFit, so I was hesitant to try it at first. I had gone to a conventional gym and lose motivation because you're alone. Here at sycamore cross fit I have been doing 1 on 1 training, and it's been a world of change. Yes it's harder than the conventional gym but the motivation from your trainer and the environment is intoxicating. I started at Sycamore CrossFit 3 weeks ago and it has already been so rewarding, both mentally and physically. Trust me when I say that you do NOT need to be in the best shape of your life to start CrossFit. Every workout is scaleable, which means there is a version of it that anyone can do. The atmosphere is so welcoming and the coaches are there to help every step of the way. There are personal training sessions that you complete first, and you decide from there if you would like to continue 1 on 1 training or participate in the group classes. The classes are a blast and aren’t competitive at all. Everyone is extremely supportive and helpful. When you walk into Sycamore Crossfit you are welcomed with friendly faces and sometimes wagging tails 😀🐕! If your looking into nutritional support, personal training, Crossfit classes, yoga, thrive classes or sports training Sycamore Crossfit has you covered. You don't need experience in Crossfit to walk into the place you just need to be ready to put in the work. Learning a new workout routine and new movements, mainly when it involves snatching a bar over your head, can be pretty intimidating but they take some of the fear out and make sure your comfortable and safe! Emily is awesome and she does the nutritional coaching. As for coaches I've so far worked with Carl, Mike and Eric, they are all amazing and I'm sure the others are as well! This is my 3rd week at sycamore CrossFit and I can’t say enough great things about the coaches and the other gym members in there because they all make you feel welcomed. I still get anxiety going only because I’m such an introverted person but everyone is always telling me “great job” and some of the coaches still focusing their attention on me to help me improve. They are truly knowledgeable, and they always check in to make sure things are going okay and to see if i need anything. I love the flexibility of the hours I can attend and that I’m learning heavy lifting techniques.
The workouts seem intimidating at first but my mind and body feel amazing after each workout and I can’t wait to see results. I will continue to attend and see how it goes further in this year.

Sycamore CrossFit is one of the best CrossFit gyms I've ever been to. While visiting the area from time to time, I would drop in; naturally, I knew they were the place I wanted to reach out to in order to sign up as a member. The coaching staff is some of the most knowledgable group of people I've gotten to work with; and the other members are sweet, inviting, and everything I look for in a community of people. Carl is super easy to talk to and is great with communication, Eric is phenomenal when it comes to teaching movements, Chris is awesome at keeping the class hype, Hannah is one of the best at creating a fun group environment, and Mike is flawless at making sure everyone has an understanding of what is going on in the class. The other members welcomed my wife and I in with open arms and encouraging smiles. Because of its coaches and members, this is too good to show up and not have a great time. Sycamore CrossFit is a really great gym that my husband and I signed up with about a month ago. Not only are the coaches really fun and easy to talk to, they are very good at breaking down movements so they are easier to learn. There are certain movements that I've struggled with for a long time and Coach Eric was one of the first to help me actually do the movements successfully! This gym is one of the best when it comes to communication and are always sure that we know what's going on inside and outside the gym (they also will text and check in with us which is super convenient). Meeting the other members has also been enjoyable and while everyone is at a different level, they are all still encouraging and root each other on! This community is super fun and welcoming and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a good gym to work out at.

I started at Sycamore CrossFit about three weeks ago and I already cannot say enough good things about it! The coaches are incredible. I have been to other gyms where the coaches provide the workout and little instruction, but at Sycamore CrossFit the coaches walk you through each movement of the workout and provide individual feedback regarding how you can improve both before and during the workouts. There are also endless options for modifications depending on your skill level. Every gym member has been warm and welcoming, making me feel comfortable right away. Another added bonus is that, at times, there are puppies to greet you when you arrive! There is nothing better than that!

Awesome gym! I just joined here at the beginning of the month. I hadn’t been working out for about a year and half and was pretty nervous/not excited about getting back into shape, but CrossFit Sycamore has made it fun! The staff and other members made me feel so welcome and the coaches are super knowledgeable.

When I first stepped in Sycamore CrossFit 2 years ago I fully expected to be told to get in better shape and then come back. But, I was welcomed with open arms and a very sweet dog. I signed up. Over the next few weeks I fully expected someone to tap me on the shoulder and say maybe CrossFit wasn't for me. That didn't happen. I love this gym, the coaches and members!! The gym is very clean, neat and organized! The coaches are so knowledgeable and take the time to get to know each member who walks through the doors; their strengths, weaknesses, worries and goals. I have not only gained so much more physical strength but also confidence in myself! No matter which class you attend, the members support each other and are always rooting for you to do your best! I dropped in for a Saturday team wod. The coach and members were super friendly. High fives and encouragement all around. The wod was creative and effective. The coach was thorough explaining the workout and did a great warm up to prep for it. He also continued to instruct and coach after the work out started. Just an overall great box and i would totally drop in again!

Came here on a Saturday and the gym is super clean, members are friendly and introduced themselves, and the coach explained the workout and also continued to coach during the workout. So many gyms offer instruction before the workout and then you see the coach stand off to the side once the clock starts. The guys here will actually move around and correct things as you go. Would definitely join if I lived up there!

I started CrossFit back in 2011. I am NOT a fit athlete, and have participated in CrossFit while overweight, obese, and morbidly obese. I've lived in three states and been a member of four different CrossFit gyms. The sport is completely scalable, and while I was happy with my other memberships, I had no idea what truly outstanding coaching looked like until now. I always felt like a burden, needing to seek out extra help from coaches because I had to scale EVERYTHING down to a movement I could safely perform. It got to where I would avoid workouts because I knew I'd have to scale everything and I felt like I was taking too much time from a coach. At Sycamore CrossFit, the different options to scale movements are performed as a part of the warm-up by the entire group. EVERYBODY scales workouts, and the coaches actively help all of these people! The coaches are above and beyond phenomenal, and the members are just stellar. There are people of all ages working out together; it's exciting to watch everyone continuously improve and succeed at amazing feats! Mentally and physically, I don't think I've felt better in my entire life, and I owe it all to my newfound Happy Place. If you need to improve your mental or physical health, give this place a try (no matter what your age or level of athletic ability!). You will NOT regret it. ❤️💪

I knew I needed something in a group setting under direction of a coach, something challenging, and something that never gets boring. As a long-time member of Sycamore Crossfit, I find the coaches are knowledgeable and encouraging. Everyone here is friendly (both the staff and the members!)- they encourage you to compete with yourself and to push yourself to new limits. It's not about being the strongest, but about bettering yourself and meeting your individual goals. Having attended Sycamore Crossfit for several years, I am still PR'ing both lifts and cardio-based workouts on a regular basis.
There is a strong feeling of comradery between the members and coaches, and this is a drama free environment that is always welcoming to all.

You will get results here. I have had memberships at other gyms, but I had no clue what I was doing. Unlike the strip mall gyms where I was clueless on what to do, the coaches here tell you what to do. I thought it would be intimidating - not true - everyone is very welcoming. I thought I needed to get in shape before starting crossfit - not true. The coaches will modify the workouts to your ability. If you are already a pretty good athlete they will help you get to that next level. Just show up - you will see results.

This is more than a gym, or a close knit community that turns into a second family. The coaches are highly trained and are skilled to help anyone at any skill level. I am someone that you would not typically see at a CrossFit gym but I’m able to do it thanks to the amazing coaches and the motivation from the members of the gym. I highly recommend this gym!

If you're thinking about trying a new gym and you're tired of the boring globo-gym setup I cannot recommend this place enough. The coaches are amazing people who care about what they do. The workouts are able to be tailored to your personal needs. The results are real. There is a reason why people who do CrossFit can't shut up about it; you feel good mentally, physically, and you open up your life to a ton of new friends. 10/10 gym.

I have been a member here for years and I keep coming back for a reason! Excellent coaching and personalized attention to all athletes no matter their walk of life. The atmosphere and community are second to none. They also have a diverse offering of CrossFit Group classes, personal training, HIIT group classes, and nutrition consulting.
