I have a few happy places, and The Edge is way up on top of the list! The training method is top notch just like the owner who put it all together. He couldn't have succeeded without the help of his amazing staff. Everyone there is so talented and really work together like a fine oiled machine. My trainer, Sean Maloney, is amazing!!! He studies every movement and hones it down where you can understand everything of this method. He is patient, caring, and so much fun to talk to during workouts. The hour goes so fast and if you walked in not feeling great emotionally or physically, you sure walk out a happy camper! Many thanks to Sean who goes above and beyond to give you the best work out every time. Everyone there is so great and their physical therapy department is unbelievable as well! This is an unusual gym in that it concentrates on all areas of your body. Sean is also
a nutrition coach and has started a program there as well. He is the best!!!

I've been an edge member since they opened. For the past many years, Sean Maloney has been my personal trainer. His knowledge of the body, attention to form and exercise detail, encouragement in my work and progress, and warm personality help to make my Edge experience enjoyable and productive. Combined with an expert physical therapy department, workouts at The Edge are productive and fun.

This place is so much more than just a gym-it’s a confidence booster, tight knit community, and it’s my happy place. Before joining The Edge, I had never stuck to a workout routine for more than a few months. I’ve now been going to The Edge 3 times a week for the last 15 months, no matter how I feel. Due to various health issues, I am often not feeling my best and they do an amazing job there of meeting me where I’m at and providing me with exercises that I can handle that day. Trainers Alyssa, Sean, and David, and owner Mark, treat us like family. They are kind, knowledgeable, fun, and supportive. Antigone on the PT side is the GOAT! So smart and a miracle worker!
I feel so fortunate to be a part of this community and am truly thankful to them for changing my life for the better.

I’ve been going to the Edge for several years for a variety of ailments due to age, golf and paddle tennis. Tigs is always awesome but recently I’ve had the pleasure of seeing Ashley Duer. Ashley is fantastic and has been helping me tremendously through some pretty tough tennis elbow. I would highly recommend the edge and dry needling form Ashley.

The Edge is awesome. Every member of the Edge team is customer focused. The facility itself provides the space and equipment for a variety of workouts.

The trainers provide a welcoming environment. They establish a personal connection that makes me feel more like a friend than a client. They teach how to safely do a particular stretch/exercise and the benefits associated with it. They are patient - which for a guy that is not coordinated makes me relaxed. They encourage me to do my best. I have seen that if I put in the work that meaningful results follow. Alyssa, David, Sean, and Mark - thank you!

The Physical Therapy available at The Edge is wonderful. The range of motion in my shoulder is vastly better. Chris and Ashley are incredibly knowledgeable. They provide an appropriate home exercise program when not working directly with them at the office. The results from working with them falls into the miraculous category.

The Edge helps me be able to go do the things I truly enjoy.

I had a full shoulder replacement from Dr Craig Phillips at IBJI. Right shoulder and I am right handed. Very important PT. I started my PT at IBJI. I had a great therapist but I didn’t like the setup or lack of privacy. I tried one session virtually, but that didn’t go so well for me either, so I started shopping.

I was referred to Antigone (owner) at the Edge by a colleague. Antigone started her career at IBJI before opening her practice at the Edge. I signed up for a PT ‘package’ ($2500+) and my sessions were with Anushree.

About halfway thru my package, they started working with insurance plans. I had to pay a fee for them to go back and handle previous claims, but that worked out very well.

Looking back, the care I received was amazing. I did a handful of virtual visits and the rest in Glenview in a very private setting which I loved.

Anushree is a ‘doctor of physical therapy’. I highly recommend ‘Nush’ and the Edge for your PT journey, as well as any dry needling or cupping. All good!

Antigone quickly got me an evaluation appointment. I had a 1 1/2 hour session with "Nush" which was extremely helpful in diagnosing my problem. "Nush" is knowledgeable and thorough. I highly recommend this PT for "tech neck" and myofascial pain.

I recently saw Ashley for an evaluation of my jaw due to TMJ issues, and I couldn’t have been more impressed. She was incredibly professional and knowledgeable. She took the time to thoroughly explain what was happening, which really helped me understand the root of the problem. I left feeling confident in the plan she laid out and truly appreciated her thoughtful, compassionate approach. Highly recommend Ashley to anyone dealing with TMJ or in need of physical therapy support!

Right knee issues.
After working with three orthopedics (x-rays and mri) and one pt, spent 30-45 min with Tigs…she said I have an idea. Turns out, she was spot on. A few minutes of dry needles (not fun) on my lower calf muscles?, things loosened up and the knee felt much better. Guess the stressed soft muscles or tendons were putting a sort of kinked strain on the knee. Still some work to do, but a major improvement in the first 24-hours. Kudos!!

In addition to all of the basics:
- A clean facility,
- Plenty of parking;
- New, top quality equipment,
The Edge provides a superior experience that includes:
- Outstanding coaching;
- Close supervision to ensure safety and injury avoidance;
- Science-based programming;
- Workout classes with times for working adults;
- A strong sense of community;
- On-premises physical therapy;
- And most importantly, a staff that genuinely cares about your health and well being.

I am 63 years old and am stronger now than I was my 20s. Many thanks to Mark Sich (owner) and all of the staff at The Edge.

Hi, I have been participating in Edge group training for almost 15 years. I’m 78 years old, had a heart valve replacement and repair, had hip replacement surgery. Through it all, the Edge has provided a way to remain fit and able to do the activities that I enjoy, work 5 days a week, play golf multiple times a week and follow my grandkids in all their sports and other activities. Fitness is a blessing as I continue to age.
I train with Sean and Alyssa each week. Highly recommended!

Years of trying multiple therapy places, The Edge Therapists worked closely with my body to help me return to sport without pain. Antigone and Ashley are magicians as they are continually pulling back layers to find issues such as muscles firing inappropriately. With great care they have provided hands on treatment combined with targeted strength training. Sometimes I’ve had to go back to basic movements but under their watchful eye they spot my body that likes to cheat. This helps me focus on what’s really needed to retrain and become successful in both my daily life and my athletic sports. I highly recommend The Edge Sport Enhancement/Physical Therapy. Give it a try you won’t be disappointed!

I have participated in Edge programming for 20+ years. At age 73, I am able to play basketball with my 14 year old grandson, tennis and pickleball with players in their 50’s, and walk 9 holes with ease. Although diabetes runs in my family, I have avoided it through the Edge’s stegnth and conditioning programs. The PT side is amazing for managing joint tightness that might otherwise have been disabling. I have made lasting friendships with rhe amazing people in my group session, who are fun and fit.

I joined The Edge in late summer at the recommendation of a colleague. My goal was to improve my strength after a history of neck and back surgeries and physical therapy. Prior to joining, I had never fully committed to a workout schedule nor seen the mental health boost from consistency. I was skeptical when I met with Mark for my initial assessment. He told me at that time that classes were filled with people like me, and most had been coming for years. Nearly six months later, I am a HUGE fan! I work harder in my hour classes 3 times per week, than I have ever pushed myself and I have seen results- I feel stronger, I objectively AM stronger, my cholesterol took a nose dive after years of bring elevated, and I enjoy being at the gym with workout buddies. Best, the coaches - David, Sean, Alyssa and Mark have patiently helped me gain skills and prevent injury; their contagious positive attitude is a joy and keeps me committed to making The Edge part of my ongoing routine. Very highly recommend!

I had severe neck pain and my doctor was not available for over 2 weeks. I was able to get an appointment with Ashley that same morning and received a 100 minute, thorough evaluation, a targeted exercise and a follow-up appointment the same week - incredible! Not only that, but in subsequent sessions, she addressed wrist and knee pain in addition to my neck issue. I even received follow up emails/texts after visits to see how I was doing. The responsiveness and caring shown was much different from my doctor’s unavailability and apathy. I highly recommend visiting the team at Edge Performance Therapy!!

I went to Antigone for PT after a bad back injury from golf. When the injury happened, I was in severe pain for 3-5 days, and still had difficulty moving comfortably 2-3 weeks later. That’s when I started working with Antigone. I saw significant improvement with the exercises and other treatments, but most importantly - I learned about my body’s imbalances, my muscles, and what caused the injury to happen in the first place. We worked in continued sessions with a focus on mobility exercises, targeted strength training, and putting together a weekly exercise routine centered around my goals. Over the course of time she’s helped adapt that routine to my continued progress and encourages me to remain consistent.

Antigone took the time to understand my goals, and enabled me to achieve them. I have more mobility and am in better shape than I was even before the injury. I was able to play 36 holes of golf yesterday, and I’ve gotten back to playing tennis and basketball at a higher level than before. Credit to The Edge PT and Dr. Vesci!

Amazing Facility, Amazing Team-Highly Recommend!
——-

My entire family attends the Edge, in one capacity or another. Whether it’s myself or my brother receiving PT because of our bad back pain, or my Aunt & Uncle going to his personal training sessions, the Edge team knows exactly how to address our needs.

There is never a one size fits all when it comes to health, fitness and personal growth, so the time and energy that the Edge tool to learn about my goals and challenges really meant a lot. From there, Antigone was able to help me build a treatment plan that directly supported my specific goals. A few weeks later, I am still doing the exercises and receiving the care I need to improve my pain.

I feel a lot better, but more importantly, because of the training and treatment I received, I feel like I have the power to prevent the pain from coming back and I credit Dr. Matsakis and her team with giving me that.

I am an 18 year old cross country and track and field athlete. Throughout high school dealing with injuries is tough, but after numerous times going to various PTs I can safely say I trust The Edge the most. Not only are the PTs super personable and understanding, they have helped me game plan recovery plans and strengthening exercises while also keeping me in shape and running. It is so helpful when a PT understands that as a runner taking two weeks off in the middle of a season would be a last resort and so we would always do our best to keep some activity while getting healthier! Even at home I am able to communicate with my PT via an app and I can ask about different exercises that I was given. Really just a super helpful group of people who know their stuff and I will continue to go to them in the future!

Over the past 3 years, my experience at The Edge has been extraordinary. Both the quality of the facilities, and more importantly, the staff/team. At The Edge you are getting trained professionals who are focused on helping each individual achieve their goals. They work across their therapy and training teams to make sure your experience is adapted as needed - your back acting up? ok, here's how we can adapt the workout...

The Edge has also been valuable for my high-school age child. The team takes time to understand the needs, comfort level, etc., for my child to ensure they have a positive experience. As a result my child has increased both their fitness and their confidence.

I can't recommend the Edge enough for someone looking to have a professional experience in a friendly, supportive, atmosphere.

The Edge provides a unique training experience since it also has a performance therapy side of the business. I started at the Edge with performance therapy due to a shoulder issue I developed strength training elsewhere. I learned about the enhancement training side during one of my sessions and my neighbors also highly recommended it to me. I decided to give it a try and I love that the trainers are all aware of any muscular issues and/or injuries because they are in constant communication with the performance therapists. The trainers know how to modify any exercises without you having to ask them to do so. I've been training there since August and my shoulder couldn't be better nor have I developed any other injuries. The soft tissue warm-up is key and I love that this is part of the training even though it's not necessarily a workout. But it helps prevent injury which I have taken for granted. While I've been exercising for years, this three day a week program has truly made me feel stronger and I never get bored with the workouts because they change every four weeks. Highly recommend the Edge for both training enhancement and performance therapy!

I started my journey with the Edge after making myself a new year's resolution to get in better shape. I had previous experiences with gyms (boot camps, planet fitness, etc.), but wasn't necessarily looking forward to joining another program which I would eventually abandon.

When I started, I was a real mess. Being middle aged I made a lot of bad life choices which were immediately visible -- I felt middle aged.

I started off with some personal training (Sean) and physical therapy (Antigone, Anushree). In the physical therapy session swe finally diagnosed that I had a small stroke in 2015, and the right side of my body had significantly atrophied over the years. Something that my doctor couldn't figure out after multiple visits.

Through the personal training sessions, I was able to get in enough shape to join the general pop in group workouts. Since then I have made significant achievements, and can really feel the difference -- who knew I had a core?

Beyond the personal achievements, I love this place due to the people. All the trainers (Sean, David, Alyssa, Mark) talked to each other to ensure they were making the right adjustments in my routine to meet MY needs. Beyond their understanding, I feel like part of something. The staff is very interactive and fun, and the different people I have meet in the group sessions I have come to know on a personal level as well.

The price is more costly than what I have paid at other places, but you get what you pay for. (It's also a great motivator to not miss the thrice a week sessions).

Mark is the owner, and has built the business. The staff, focus of the company, affirming attitude of making the best you permeates the organization.

I look forward to everyday -- not because of the workouts, but due to the fact that I finally feel like I want to feel.

I have been going to the Edge for about a year and a half now, and I am hooked. I've tried almost every type of workout out there, and gotten tired of them after a few months. The Edge is different than anywhere I've ever gone, and with their focus on athletic strength training and heavy weight lifting, I've seen differences in my body composition that I've never seen with previous workout formats. The workouts have also helped my paddle tennis game tremendously, due to the athletic training nature of the sessions. The group training classes with Mark are fun, energetic, and exhausting, while my personal training sessions with David are the perfect complement to focus on my specific goals. Mark is one of the most knowledgeable trainers I've ever met - the depth of information he has about how the body works and what it needs to excel is formidable, and he has done an exemplary job of passing that knowledge on to his employees. The other thing that I love about the Edge is the small class format, as you really get to know the people you're working out with. The amount of encouragement and support I receive from both trainers and classmates while trying to beat my personal bests in weight lifting is inspiring. I recommend the Edge to anyone and everyone who is tired of the big corporate gyms and boutique workout studios, and looking to get back to the basics of truly working towards your healthiest and strongest self, while also feeling like part of a community of people working toward the same goals.

Where do I begin when I’m talking about a facility that has changed my life in so many ways. The EDGE Sport Performance is the best all in one training, physical therapy & mental coaching facility around. I began my time here on the PT side to correct physical limitations and setbacks I had with my body as a golfer. I went from learning to trust my body again simply doing stretches and mobility work for my hips and back to now onfidently deadlifting & squatting 225lbs. The wonderful staff that run this place I call home are nothing short of the most genuine, helpful and trustworthy people in the business. I have been able to strengthen physically & mentally at this facility and would highly recommend to anyone who wants to better themselves from a strength training or physical therapy standpoint. Having both PT and strength training under one roof makes the improvement process a truly collaborative team effort. I owe so much to these wonderful people who work tirelessly to make their facility a safe place for everyone of all ages to strengthen themselves. I have only been training at Edge for three weeks and already feel like I could write a novel about how wonderful this facility is! Having been an obese teen growing up, I never felt like the gym/working out was ever part of my identity no matter how much weight I lost as an adult or how active I was. So if you're like me and looking for a judgement-free, supportive, and incredibly helpful atmosphere, THIS IS THE PLACE!!! Mark, David, and Sean are quick to teach you about proper myofascial rolling, how to weight-lift/build muscle without injury, and are so generous with their encouragement! They give great constructive criticism, so there's no guesswork or stumbling through classes wondering if you're doing anything right. Prior to enrolling classes, they'll do a full body assessment to analyze your specific body mechanics and to talk about previous injuries so that they can be accounted for in the classes. AND they currently offer a separate free physical therapy assessment! I had my PT assessment with Amanda, and my experience with her was just as magical as with the trainers. She listens, has great energy, and gives helpful advice about PT add-ons that might benefit you during your training plan.

Again, if you're the nervous type that feels out of place in gym environments or you feel like you need to get into shape before you even step into one, come here and let these well-rounded pros do their thing!

Mark and his group are great and even though it’s small group training, they work with everyone individually taking into account each person’s goals, strengths and weaknesses (and aches and pains). Focus on overall wellness, stretching, excellent form in the exercises and cardio. Also very flexible in terms of moving classes when necessary. I love it.

If you are prepared for a lifetime change in the way you feel and move this is the place for you. Mark and his trainers working with him understand the body structure and movement to address whatever ails you. I am a 69 YO client that came to the Edge suffering with poor mobility, a torn rotator cuff and a torn meniscus. They continue to help me build and maintain strength, balance, extension and flexibility. A year ago, after cervical disc replacement, Antigone and her team provided expert care and therapy and, with the Edge Team training, I have regained my strength and mobility.

I have been with Mark as my trainer from his early days at The Glen into his development of the Edge. He is extremely professional and talented with a staff that is always in the same league as him. I have lost over 130 pounds and rehabbed from major surgeries under his guidance and direction. I doubt there is anyone more concerned and caring about his clients while making us move toward new levels in a safe and secure setting. Mark is THE BEST

Life changing? Yep. After hurting my back in snow-meggedon, I have spent many many hours in the typical physical therapy with very good and caring therapists. Yet, regardless of how hard I worked, I never got out of chronic pain. I just convinced myself well, you can't go for runs anymore and you can't lift weights or play golf and I' just got used to the chronic pain and learned to live with it. After a bad spasm episode, I went to a doctor to explore surgery. He sent me to Edge. Antigone, Max and team are just different. They don't take the standard PT approach. Call them and hear how they do it vs me trying to explain it. Fast forward just a few months and I am back playing golf, lifting weights, able to run and feel great physically AND mentally! So yes, life changing for me.

After many years of living with chronic back pain, I sought help from The Edge team to get me on the road to recovery. Under their watchful eye I have learned how to use my body correctly and move with less pain. Antigone has held my hand (sometimes literally) throughout my journey, eventually connecting me with the right doctors who were finally able to give me a diagnosis. I appreciate the team’s patience, care and expertise during this process of reclaiming my physical (and mental) health. I would not be where I am today without them.

Max is awesome! As a runner I've had various injuries pop up throughout marathon training and there were points where I thought for sure I wouldn't be healthy enough in time to run, but Max got me there. Not only did he provide rehab exercises and movements as well as needling which was very helpful for pain and injuries, he also explained why I was getting these recurring issues and what steps I could take to not only prevent them moving forward but improve as a runner. Max was also very flexible with scheduling and willing to accommodate my challenging schedule. I hope I don't need to use him again but if I do I know I'll be in good hands!

I left a big-box fitness facility in 2017 to join The Edge family and it has been one of the best decisions I ever made. Mark is a whip-smart owner and trainer who expertly tailors strength and conditioning sessions for individual clients and groups. Meanwhile, Antigone and The Edge Performance Therapy team have skillfully supported me through five separate orthopedic surgeries in 35 months. Bravo to all The Edge professionals!

I cannot speak more highly of Mark and his staff at The Edge. After major surgery I needed to build up my strength and not being one who ever went to a gym, I did not know what to expect from the experience at The Edge. They do not have a cookie-cutter approach to training, rather they tailor a program for each individual’s needs. With the knowledge I have gained at The Edge, as a retired senior my day-to-day activities are now done with ease and confidence. The team is professional, understanding, non-judgmental, and has one goal in mind ‘to make you a better you’.

I’ve been working with The Edge and Mark’s team for 8+ years. The way they individualize a group training program to accommodate an injury or a post op situation for an individual is priceless. I have gained strength and improved physical and mental acuity from my consistent attendance. I hate to miss my workouts as they frame the back bone of my active lifestyle.

Additionally, I’ve seen them help train individuals from 15 to 80 years old. Beats any other program I have participated in my life.

My husband and I have trained with The Edge for probably 10 years. Mark and the trainers are true professionals. While we train in small groups, usually around 6, our personal workout is geared for one’s age and abilities. The workouts are challenging no matter what level you’re at.
In addition to weight and cardio training, we have made some really good friends. My girl’s workout group celebrates birthdays going out to lunchbox and couples meet for breakfast or dinner on occasion.
In addition to training, the facility now has a PT arm to help with any structural or rehab issues. The PT staff meets with the trainers so that therapy and exercise compliment each other. It’s pretty great! Three days/week at The Edge keeps us moving and healthy and for that we are grateful.

I've been training at The Edge for over 3 years now, and it's one of the best decisions I made for my health and wellness, period. From day one Mark and the team have worked with me through my (many) idiosyncrasies, ensuring that I constantly keep improving how I move before jumping ahead in to doing more difficult exercises, or lifting heavier weights. The result is that 3 years later my back pain and knee pain has gone and I am moving better and feeling stronger than I ever have. I can't recommend The Edge highly enough, I wish I had discovered this place in my 20's.

I have been training at The Edge in Glenview for over 3 years now. I have been a group classes customer as well as private training. My strength and ability to train without injury has improved immensely. My trainers even coordinated with my PT when I had a meniscus repair surgery when I started working out there. I would highly recommend The Edge to anyone trying to improve their strength and health.

I. Oils go anywhere and have Medicare pay for it, but Antigone has helped me so much. She thinks of out of the box and is so encouraging. She has helped me with the arthritis in my neck, rebuild the strength in my shoulder and any other complaint I’ve had. I suffered for years with jaw pain. She showed me one trick and I was able to alleviate the pain. She and August are the best.. worth every penny

Not your typical physical therapy or therapists, they are in my opinion far ahead of others in the industry. I say this because I have experienced first hand how The Edge Performance Therapy approaches each patient, getting to the root cause of pain and discomfort and helping people enjoy life to the best of their ability. I can't say thanks enough to Antigone, August and Mark for helping me stay young at the ripe "old" age of 54.

Wishing you continued success,

John

Extremely thorough evaluations — both PT as well as training are very much tailored to and focused on the needs of the individual rather than having a “one size fits all” program. I’ll be continuing with them for the foreseeable future.

I began seeing Antigone several years ago when I had a hip replacement. I found her to be a very knowledgeable therapist with a passion for the work she does. She readily explains the rationale for each particular exercise or modality. When I learned of her new venture earlier this year at The Edge, I quickly made an appointment to see her for neck and back issues. She did not disappoint. She is an expert at determining which is the best treatment for a particular issue. She provides appropriate at home exercises to reinforce her therapy. I can’t recommend Antigone enough. She will always be my “go to” therapist whenever I need physical therapy.
