Very convenient and a great price. I used Pod 2. Equipment was clean, basic but sufficient. The space was clean generally. Unfortunately my door was unlocked during my session and I couldn't get it to lock, so someone opened it about halfway through and I had to get them to leave. They left with little fuss, but it could have been a safety issue.

Love the concept! But unfortunately the door was already open when I arrived and wouldn’t quite close all the way during my workout so it didn’t feel safe. The gym equipment was decent. And it was great not to have to share equipment. I could also blast my music which I loved.

Working with a personal trainer AbdAllah, the facility is sufficient but could be better maintained. AbdAllah manages to navigate us through our training sessions comfortably anyway.

Reserved pod 2, the heater inside did not work and was blowing nothing but cold air. Tried turning up the temperature and it would not work.

How are the security cameras used in this gym? Are they watched live by security staff, or are they only checked if there’s a problem?

Good starter gym (VERY BASIC) for those who are trying to get exercise integrated into their routine but are feeling a little self-conscious or COVID conscious. Very private. Has a bathroom. Relatively clean. Has all the equipment you need to get started. There are some pods that are coveted the most because of the type of the equipment the pod holds, so not every pod has the same equipment.
Most of the users have been pretty good about putting equipment back from where to came from (sans maybe 1 or 2 people which can be annoying).
IMO, West Loop location > South Loop location
CONS: Not great at responding to things when there are reports of problems (i.e. faulty equipment, A/C problems) - very bot-like responses so I don't know if they care. Kind of expensive if you go more than 4 days a week; might as well join a more public gym. Not all pods have the same equipment.

I like that it was perfect size but it was freezing. A huge draft was coming in through the door. There was no TV remote so I couldn't use it and I couldn't connect to the Bluetooth speaker. I told my daughter not to rent this pod 2 out again. If they fix these issues then it will be worth renting out pod 2

It’s a nice gym but no bathrooms , I want cancel my subscription. But customer service has not been helpful. No number to call . Very disappointed. I haven’t been to this gym since February and it’s June now and the app is still charging my card for the membership.

Don’t bother - the app you have to install to even see if the gym has slots free is so buggy I couldn’t complete the signup. Got an “oops” message verifying my number. Now I can’t login because my number hasn’t verified and it won’t let me verify my number again because it says it’s already in their system.

I take care of family members that are immunocompromised, so I have to be mindful and smart about every little outside interaction I do… everyday. It can get stressful sometimes. I used to try and go to the gym at really off-hours, to minimize the crowds, but sometimes I just couldn’t fit early morning or late night workouts into my busy schedule. Gym Pod has been a life changer - no more anxiety going to the gym! I can get a complete gym quality workout but limit the chances of exposure, especially since regular gyms are not only packed during peak hours, but often times, quite unsanitary. Gym Pod pretty much has all the essentials and more, in terms of equipment, and has free wifi and surprisingly nice quality speakers so you can play your own music. Every time I’ve used a pod, it’s been very clean and organized. It’s quite literally been my private sanctuary to get away from all my daily stressors and just get some alone time and a killer workout in! I understand my situation isn’t the norm, but for people in similar circumstances, I can’t recommend the Gym Pod enough!

Highly recommend!
Been living in the city for a bit and have had bad experiences in other gyms so decided to give the gym pod a try. Much more focused then I would be in a busy gym and bumping to my own tunes with their awesome speaker is a plus.
Don’t hesitate to get a workout in here!

Was in Chicago on a work trip for a week and the hotel gym wasn’t cutting it for me. Tried this spot out and loved it. Highly recommend.

This was honestly not a good experience, there were technical difficulties and all but the worst is when I tried to leave maybe a minute after the end of my session and I was locked in there, no the door wasn’t locked on my end, I even pressed the exit button and nothing worked. I was just held in there for way longer than I wanted to be and guess what there was no one to call for help. I hated this experience so much especially since I had somewhere to be at that. Yeah just get a gym membership yall. Absolutely never again lol.

I’ve been to the Gym Pod a couple times and there always seems to be an issue. The Wi-Fi and speakers have never worked. The first time I went there was an employee in my pod pretty much the entire time so it wasn’t even a private experience. And when I wasn’t able to get in to the pod I reserved the last time I was there I didn’t get any help until hours after my reservation was supposed to end. It’s also pretty hard to reserve a time as they’re always booked. Definitely will just be going back to the regular gym.

This review is for the S Dearborn location. Super cool concept. Tons of equipment and the app makes it all very easy. Also perfect for a quick workout in a busy day. App is also super responsive if you can’t get in.
The WiFi and Bluetooth were down but I won’t take away points because they do have a heater which was perfect for this chilly weather!!
